Star Trek (the game) is a 3rd person shooter-action game with a large emphasis on co-op play. It is set in the time between the the 2009 movie and this year's new release - Into Darkness. Without giving much away, the game deals with what has happened to the Vulcans after the destruction of their homeworld in the 2009 movie, and also features a rarely seen alien as the main protagonist - The Gorn. The game will see you battle through space stations, planet side colonies as well as engage in ship-to-ship combat.

Trophy wise there is nothing hard and very little originality. Some of the trophies and their titles take homage from the Star Trek universe, but for the most part we've seen it all before. It's a great little game for fans of the franchise and players looking for a quick and easy platinum. Enjoy the game, as this guide endeavors to boldly go where no trophy guide has gone before!

Step 1: Co-Op Playthrough on Hard

Compared to a majority of shooters in the PS3 era, hard is not difficult at all. Most of the combat is cover based so you can easily pop-out of cover and pick off enemies at your own leisure. Add in a co-op partner and its that much easier. Given all this I would recommend playing through the game on your main run with a co-op partner and with the difficulty on hard. This way you'll get the story trophies (see story section in the guide), difficulty trophy (S)Into Darkness and all 3 co-op trophies (see (S)Away Team: Mission Accomplished) done in one swoop.

Please note that before starting co-op with your partner, make sure that you both have your difficulty set to hard, as there have been problems with some players not unlocking (S) Into Darkness during co-op. This problem arises from the player joining the host not having their game set to hard as default. To ensure your game is on hard make sure to change it via the options on the main menu before joining a co-op game.

Along the way there are a number of other trophies you can obtain depending on what character you are playing with. Be on the lookout for opportunities to obtain (B)Live Long and Prosper, (B)Go Team!, (B)I'll Cover You, (B)One Man Army, (B)Down But Not Out, (B)Arena and (B)I Have Been, and Shall Always Be, Your Friend as you progress through the story.

These trophies can be earned without a co-op buddy, but some will be easier in co-op as the AI may not always do as you want. Once you start this playthrough you will have to stick with one character as you cannot switch from chapter to chapter.

A good number of the weapon based trophies will be unlocked naturally through one playthrough, which ones will depend on your preferred weapons.

Star Trek has a large number of collectibles, 36 audio files and 116 research items. Collecting these items isn't as bad as it could be as, with the exception of 'Tribbles", all other collectibles are mainly in plain sight and a good chunk of the research items are enemy types and weapons. Using the upgraded 'Tricorder' you can scan entire rooms for collectibles by holding :l2: so you will not need to constantly check every corner of every room.

You can choose attempt to collect all of the items during this first playthrough or choose to find them all during clean-up. We would suggest you find as many collectibles as you can during this step and use the chapter select option to find any missing collectibles after you finish the main game. The game tracks collectibles by chapter and even sub-chapters so you will know exactly what you have missed and where you missed it (again with the exception of Tribbles).

While playing through this first playthrough we also suggest you complete all 22 secondary objectives to unlock (S)Honorary Commendation and (G)Exemplary Commendation. All secondary objectives require either not killing infected humans, finding an alternate route or completing a section stealthy. 90% of the secondary objectives are easily completed but a couple of stealth sections may require some trial and error, luckily if you are seen you can just restart the last checkpoint and try again.

If you choose not to complete the commendations or fail to complete them you can easily replay them via chapter select. The chapter select menu will show you which sections have commendations and whether or not you have completed them.

Step 2: Clean-Up

This step will be required even if you finished all secondary objectives and found all collectibles because you will need to play as the opposite character you played as during your first playthrough to unlock certain character specific trophies.

In addition to the character specific trophies needed during this step you will also need to grind some weapon kills and obtain any miscellaneous trophies missed during your first playthrough. Use the below trophy guide to find the where weapons are commonly found and some good grinding places.

After completing all of these steps, congratulate yourself on your new shiny (P).

[spoiler=st91]The trophy will unlock once you escape the destruction of Helios 1 and the title sequence has finished. Overall this chapter is very simple and acts mainly a tutorial and introduction to the story. There are no enemies to fight and all puzzles are easily solved by using your tricorder.

[spoiler=st92]The trophy will unlock once Scotty has beamed you off New Vulcan. This chapter is longer than the first, but it is still fairly easy, even on hard. The Gorn Brute might give you a bit of trouble as he destroys cover easily, but as long as you and your partner don't both go down at the same time it is manageable.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/52D.jpg All Power to Forward Shields (B)

Complete the Space Battle with a hull integrity of 85% or more

This is the only remotely hard trophy in the game. It's not really that bad after some pattern recognition and once you realize when to shield up and when to shoot because you can't do both at the same time. Explained below are the waves of enemies you will face. Pro Tip: Go into options and increase your aim speed!!! The minimum you want to be at is 5 unlit bulbs but the higher the better.

1st Section:

2 ships are going to come from directly in front of you moving right. Take one out with :r1: and the your partner or AI should take out the other. Next 2 ships will come from the top left about at your 10 O'clock moving right. Make sure you're holding :l2: for your shield when they spawn. Once the ships move into the center of the screen take them out with :r1:. Remember you cant use your shield and gun at the same time so if playing co-op tell your partner when you are taking the shields down so they know when to begin shooting. If you go below 97% here just restart. After you take them out do the tactical tutorial to take out the big shell looking ship.

Now you will be attacked by a few waves of enemies at once. You'll be attacked behind you at your 5 O'clock & in front of you about at your 2 O'clock. Coordinate with your co-op partner to shoot at one group while you take out the other. Or if solo pray that the AI takes out whichever group you didn't. As soon as those two groups are down press :triangle: and use your tactical to take out the big shell ship at your 10 O'clock and all those blue things and any straggling ships. This will take some practice. Don't move on to the last section unless you have at least 90% heath left. If not then try again by restarting checkpoint. Remember to use you shield until you have a clean shot of who you want to shoot at.

Last section:

You are going to be hit by 4 kamikaze ships, nothing you can do about it but take it. When you see you're about to get impacted hold :l2: for your shield, you will not take any damage but your shield will go down for a sec but don't worry you don't need a full shield bar to not take damage. Make sure you let go of :l2: after a kamikaze ship hits you so the shield bar immediately starts to refill.

After the 4rd kamikaze ship a big shell ship will attack from the right at about 3 O'clock. Use :r2: to to fire a torpedo at it then finish it off with :r1:. Now immediately look left 11 O'clock and use :triangle: to tactically take out the big shell ship and the rows of enemies to its right (these rows stretch all the way across to 2 O'clock). While in tactical fire then the camera changes to show you the ship firing but keep tapping :l2: as fast as you can because you can be hit while the camera is rotating. Now quickly take out any stragglers. If done fast enough then you should finish with at least 85%, if not then restart checkpoint and keep trying. The trophy will pop a few seconds after the next cutscene while you are piloting the missile.

Whether playing solo or with a co-op partner this trophy shouldn't take you to long to obtain. After a few runs you should have the patterns down, now all you need to do is execute the strategy.

Story related - cannot be missed.

[spoiler=st94]The trophy will unlock once Scotty beams Kirk, Spock and the Gorn Lieutenant off the Starbase. This chapter is pretty long and you will encounter many enemies, but they are still easy enough to beat. The trickiest parts will be using stealth to pass the relevant secondary objectives.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/878.jpg Beat Volatile Cargo & Flashback (B) (H)

Completed the Volatile Cargo & Flashback chapters on any difficulty

Story related - cannot be missed.

[spoiler=Flibble1]The trophy will unlock once Spock has finished his mind meld with the Gorn Lieutenant. Overall, Volatile Cargo is a fairly quick and simple chapter; you're chasing a lone Gorn through the Enterprise. The boss battle with the Gorn Lieutenant at the end is very easy even on hard. Have either yourself or your partner concentrate on disabling the Gorn's hacks (ideally the AI if playing solo) and the other concentrate on attacking the Gorn. Flashback is considered a chapter, but is really just a quick 5 minute backstory to the Gorn.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/209.jpg Beat Gorn Planet & The Trials (B) (H)

Completed the Gorn Planet & The Trials chapters on any difficulty

Story related - cannot be missed.

[spoiler=Flibble2]The trophy will unlock once you have been rescued from the Gorn planet by Sulu. Gorn Planet is where things get a little trickier, but still nowhere near as hard as most modern shooters. A few sections with large groups of Gorn enemies and turrets will force you to stay behind cover at all times, or else you'll be cut down very quickly. The Trials is a very short chapter with a few arena fights, a boss battle and a short escape sequence. The boss battle at the end is very easy to beat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/F7A.jpg Are You Not Entertained? (B)

Win the brawl against your buddy in "The Trials" chapter

This trophy is so simple. I did it with the AI on hard and simply punched Spock about 5 or 6 times, then threw him on the floor. If you're with a co-op partner then it'll be effortless as your buddy can just let you beat him/her.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/7F0.jpg Get to the Shuttle! (B)

After the brawl, escape in less than 6 minutes in "The Trials" chapter

If this was 1 minute then it would be a challenge. The trophy will pop once you have left the planet at the end of The Trials.

[spoiler=Flibble3]All you have to do is time a run past a nest of Gorpions and then take cover behind some rocks while directing Sulu, who is in a shuttle, to rain down fire on a large enemy encampment. Once you've eliminated all these enemies, the shuttle will land.

Completed the Enterprise Capture chapter on any difficulty

Story related - cannot be missed.

[spoiler=Flibble4]The trophy will unlock once you have 'evicted' the Gorn from the Enterprise bridge. This is a pretty exciting chapter, as you get to see many areas of the Enterprise, but overall the combat is relatively simple to beat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/128.jpg Beat Mothership (B) (H)

Completed the Mothership chapter on any difficulty

Story related - cannot be missed.

[spoiler=Flibble5]The trophy will unlock once Scotty safely beams you back to the Enterprise after the battle with the Gorn Commander. This is the only chapter in the game where you may run into difficulty. Certain areas have a lot of Gorn enemies of all different types and they can come at you from multiple sides. Taking it slow and steady is the best way to progress. There are also a few larger 'brute' enemies who carry Arc Drivers - they can kill vaporise you in a few seconds, leaving no way for your partner to revive. Getting through the huge group of enemies while trying to destroy the computer core can get messy, but most players should be able to progress after a few tries. Finally, you'll reach the battle against the Gorn Commander, which in all honesty is pretty easy to beat.

See Into Darkness

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/43B.jpg Into Darkness (S)

Completed the game on hard difficulty setting

The Hard difficulty is not difficult by any means. Your character has two levels of health and you always have the chance of being revived if you go down no matter if you are playing solo or co-op, but to lesson your chances of death follow the below tips:

* Always use cover during big fire fight.

* Many fights can be avoided by taking the stealth route

* Hack drones and turrets so they fight on your side making life simple.

* Prioritize the enemies; your safest bet is to take out the biggest guys first.

* Don't forget about your grenades; both versions are useful.

* For large bosses who charge you dodge them with :circle:. Just running away from them will normally get you downed.

The trophy will unlock as soon as you have completed the final chapter and are safely back on the Enterprise.

Completing the game on Hard will also unlock Well Done Captain.

Co-op Glitch Warning: Be warned that there have been confirmed reports about people not getting the (S)Into Darkness trophy after completing the game on Hard difficulty in co-op. In some instances only the host received the trophy in others neither player received the trophy. Your best bet to avoid this glitch is to make sure both players set the difficulty to hard in their respective main menu options before connecting together online.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/A60.jpg Honorary Commendation (S)

Complete half of all Optional Objectives

See Exemplary Commendation.

Some players have encountered a glitch with this trophy where it won't unlock at all. In these cases only Exemplary Commendation will unlock at the right time leaving this trophy unobtainable. It is not known exactly why this happens and the only way to fix it is to delete your saved data (once you have every other trophy) and playthrough again on easy, making sure to complete every optional objective until you have finished half of them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/883.jpg Exemplary Commendation (G)

Complete all Optional Objectives

Optional objectives don't have to be completed to progress in the story (only for the trophies) and are supposed to be a way to play as a true Starfleet officer would. They can be shown by pressing :l2: to activate your tricorder and will appear in the top left on the screen and will be preceded by 'COMMENDATION'. You'll know when you have successfully completed a commendation as it will flash up in the middle of the screen, along with an image of the Federation emblem.

There are three main types of optional objectives that you will encounter. 1. Avoid killing infected friendlies. 2. Find alternate routes. 3. Complete stealth sections. There is also a rescue commendation during the Frontier Starship chapter.

Passing the sections where you have to avoid killing infected friendlies is very easy. Simply use the stun setting on your phaser/repeater to disable your enemy and then move in close to knock them out. Finding alternate router are straight forward. Stealth sections are a bit trickier, but with trial and error you can work out a route to pass enemies undetected. Using :r3: to sneak around and :circle: to move from cover to cover is the best way to pass these objectives.

Pro Tip: Use Kirk (or if playing co-op have the Kirk player run point) for stealth sections because they will prove to be much easier using him. Make sure you upgrade Kirk's phaser's stun section with "Knockout Shot." Its basically a completely silent one-shot kill (knockout) weapon. It one-shot KO's ALL non-boss enemies no matter how big they are. Using this weapon you will never have to get close to an enemy and the stun shots are muffled so other enemies won't be alerted when you fire. And the stun shot doesn't kill infected humans so you are safe using it on them as well. One shot puts the gun in overheat so its best used with the Energy upgrade "Cooling System."

Also if you alert an enemy and you fail the commendation then just restart checkpoint and try again. This is especially useful on the longer sections that have multiple checkpoints like the deactivation mission in Gorn Planet. Lastly its a good idea to upgrade and use the "Software Suite" in the electronics module. Some of the later missions require you to hack pads really fast and this upgrade will hack some of them automatically. Also if playing solo you should have the AI hack most if the bypass hacking because if you mess it up then you may be discovered.

The following is a list of where all optional objectives appear:

[spoiler=st]

  1. New Vulcan > Vulcan Laboratories Part 1:
  2. New Vulcan > Vulcan Laboratories Part 2.
  3. Frontier Starbase > Search for a cure part 1.
  4. Frontier Starbase > Search for a cure part 1.
  5. Frontier Starbase > Search for a cure part 2.
  6. Frontier Starbase > Power Station.
  7. Frontier Starbase > To The Rescue.
  8. Volatile Cargo Part 2.
  9. Gorn Planet > Where No Man Has Gone Before.
  10. Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 1.
  11. Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 2.
  12. Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 3.
  13. Enterprise Capture > Taking Back The Ship.
  14. Enterprise Capture > Taking Back The Ship Part 2.
  15. Enterprise Capture > Spread The Cure.
  16. Enterprise Capture > Spread The Cure Part 2.
  17. Gorn Mothership > Punch a Hole.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/58E.jpg Captain's Phaser Master (B)

Kill 100 enemies with the Captain's Phaser

This is the default weapon while playing as Kirk. If you're playing as Kirk during your playthrough, don't worry about prioritizing this weapon, seeing as you can use it at any point during the game and other weapons are only available during certain chapters. Unfortunately, the game does not keep track of how many enemies you have killed for each weapon. Fortunately, the targets aren't too high, so you should get most of your kills in one playthrough.

If you need to grind kills for this weapon (either because you didn't reach the total or played as Spock originally) I would recommend using Mothership - Break In. On this chapter there are lots of enemies in the first room with security cameras, and they will keep spawning until you have disabled all of the cameras. Simply take cover and keep shooting the Gorn until the trophy pops.

Please note that ALL weapon based trophies cannot be farmed by killing a group of enemies and then starting from the last checkpoint over and over again. The game will only save kills once you have reached the next checkpoint and you see 'saving' in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/871.jpg Vulcan Repeater Master (B)

Kill 100 enemies with the Vulcan Repeater

This is the default weapon while playing as Spock. As for Captain's Phaser Master, try not to prioritise getting kills if you're playing through for the first time as Spock, and also the same grinding tips apply if you are short of kills by the end of the story.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/AF5.jpg Starfleet Phaser Rifle Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Starfleet Phaser Rifle

The Starfleet Phaser Rifle is very common on Frontier Starbase, Volatile Cargo, and Enterprise Capture. I recommend concentrating on getting kills with this weapon specifically on Frontier Starbase, as Gorn weapons will be much more common in later chapters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/2F9.jpg Vulcan Pulse Cannon Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Vulcan Pulse Cannon

The Vulcan Pulse Cannon is very common on New Vulcan and also appears towards the end of Enterprise Capture, on Spread The Cure Part 2. If you need to get kills quickly with this weapon I would suggest loading up the final part of Enterprise Capture and saving this weapon to the point where the Gorn lay siege to the medbay. Alternatively you can play the New Vulcan > Surok's Laboratories mission through to the end of the chapter a couple times. If you use chapter select to start this mission you will start with this gun on your back.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/459.jpg Starfleet Type III Rifle Master (B)

Kill 20 enemies with the Starfleet Type III Rifle

You'll be automatically equipped with this weapon at the start of Gorn Planet > Where No Man Has Gone Before. There are more than enough enemies to kill before infiltrating the outpost, just make sure to replenish your ammo at every opportunity. There is also a single Type III rifle that can be found during New Vulcan > Surok's Laboratories mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/777.jpg Ravager Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Ravager

The Ravager is the most common Gorn weapon in the game carried by Gorn Initiates. You will literally encounter it on every chapter starting in chapter 2 and in every battle with the Gorn. You will first encounter the Gorn Ravager in New Vulcan > Surok's Laboratories after killing a small group of Gorn Initiates.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/F7F.jpg Marauder Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Marauder

This alien shotgun is used by Gorn Enforcers (big guys with blue shielding who's always throwing smoke and plasma grenades at you) and is first encountered on Frontier Starbase > Arrival. Gorn Enforcers are very common enemies on every chapter thereon. You'll also fight a ton of them during the Mothership > To the Top mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/FEE.jpg Pillager Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Pillager

This alien assault rifle is carried by Gorn Warriors first found during Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 1. Where you first pick it up, is a great place to get kills with this weapon. You'll first pick it up when you encounter a large nest of Gorpions, and there are plenty of those to kill. There are also plenty of Dogs to kill later on and several ammo replenishment stations along the way.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/F4B.jpg Railer Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Railer

The Railer is a semi-automatc Gorn rifle and is carried by Gorn Techs. Techs are first encountered during Frontier Starbase > Search for a Cure part 1 after you find Bones, and they are very common from thereon.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/8E0.jpg Striker Master (B)

Kill 20 enemies with the Striker

The Striker is the Gorn sniper rifle carried by Gorn Scouts first encountered on Gorn Planet > Where No Man Has Gone Before. Killing the Gorn Scouts is story related so you can grab this gun early in the chapter, but be warned that it only appears during the Gorn Planet chapter in the first 4 missions.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/A29.jpg Arc Driver Master (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Arc Driver

The Arc Driver is used by Gorn Guardians. The Arc Driver is a frustrating weapon as it takes a while to kill an enemy, leaving you exposed to enemy fire. You'll first discover it on Gorn Planet - The Apple Part 1. The next chapter is the best place to farm for kills if you need to, as several enemies will drop it in the first group you encounter at the start of the chapter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/791.jpg Plasma Grenade Master (B)

Kill 20 enemies with Plasma Grenades

Plasma grenades are dropped by Gorn enemies from Frontier Starbase onwards. Press  to equip Plasma Grenades. The aiming system operates like many cover based games, with :l1: to aim and :r1: to throw. It should be pretty easy to get this before completing the game as there are many groups of enemies you can kill with a grenade, especially on the final two chapters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/5D8.jpg Weapon Experimenter (B)

Connect every weapon's alternate fire with enemies

There are a total of 16 weapons in the game and 12 of them have offensive alternate fire methods. The four weapons without offensive alternate fires are the two grenades, the Starfleet Phaser Rifle (alt fire is a shield), and the Engineer Transport Tool (tags your partner for transport).

Just to be on the safe side make sure you deflect some enemy fire with the Starfleet Phaser Rifle. It is first given to you during Frontier Starbase > Arrival after you check your weapons then get them back after the cutscenes. The gun is also commonly found during the entire Frontier Starbase, Volatile Cargo and Enterprise Capture chapters.

As for the other 10 weapons we will list them below with their alternate fire functions (in parenthesis) and where they are commonly found. Use the list as a sort of checklist because there is no way of tracking this trophy in game.

Kirk's Captain's Phaser/Spock's Vulcan Repeater (Stun shot) - Default handgun for Kirk/Spock (you should only need to use one of these)

  • Federation Weapons:

1. Vulcan Pulse Cannon (Wide range Knockout Stun Burst) - Common during the New Vulcan chapter and it also appears briefly towards the end of Enterprise Capture, on Spread The Cure Part 2.

2. Starfleet Type III Rifle (Triple kill shot) - You'll be automatically equipped with this weapon at the start of the Gorn Planet chapter.

  • Gorn Weapons:

3. Ravenger (Knockdown stun) - The most common Gorn weapon in the game carried by Gorn grunts. You will literally encounter it on every chapter starting in chapter 2 and in every battle with the Gorn. You will first encounter the Gorn Ravager in New Vulcan > Surok's Laboratories after killing a small group of Gorn Initiates.

4. Marauder (Knock down grenade) - This shotgun is used by Gorn Enforcers (big guys with blue shielding who's always throwing smoke and plasma grenades at you). First encountered on Frontier Starbase > Arrival. Gron Enforcers are very common enemies on every chapter thereon. You'll also fight a ton of them during the Mothership > To the Top mission.

5. Railer (Drone Transport Beacon - An Attack Drone transports instantly and will attack any enemy targets in the vicinity). Gorn Techs carry this weapon and are first encountered during Frontier Starbase > Search for a Cure Part 1, after you find Bones. They are very common from thereon.

6. Striker (Knockdown shot) - The Striker is the Gorn sniper rifle first encountered in Gorn Planet > Where No Man Has Gone Before. Killing the Gorn scouts is story related so you can grab this gun early in the chapter. But be warned that it only appears during the Gorn Planet chapter and in the first 4 missions.

7. Pillager (Spread shot) - First encountered during the Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 1 mission. Gorn Warriors carry this weapon and are then commonly encountered during the rest of the Gorn Planet chapter and during the Mothership chapter.

8. Arc Driver (Launches slow moving missiles that will effectively take out entire platoons of enemies) - First encountered during Gorn Planet > The Apple Part 1. This gun can be found from this point thereon in the Gorn Planet chapter and will be very common during the Mothership chapter.

Found all audio logs

Audio logs are located on most chapters in the game. You can find them by holding :l2: to activate your tricorder, and then hold down :square: to scan the log once you are within range. You can recognise an audio log as it looks like an original series Star Trek communicator. It is highly recommended to purchase the tricorder ability 'Research Helper' as soon as possible, as this will automatically highlight any audio logs within about 12m of your location. To see how many you have discovered press :start: and then select 'Research Data'. The logs are listed by chapter and sub-chapter.

When cleaning up audio logs make sure you reach a save point (where the game says 'saving' in the bottom right hand corner), as otherwise the game will not register it as being found.

A descriptive list of all audio log locations can be found in this supplemental guide ---> http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/star-trek/197855-star-trek-game-collectible-guide.html

Video locations can also be viewed under Fascinating.

Found all research items

Research items are found on every chapter and are discovered in the same way as audio logs, by using your tricorder. There are chapter specific items and general items, which can mostly be found over a number of chapters - I have listed all locations below. The game will only save research items once you reach a checkpoint, so if you die before the game saves then you'll have to rescan the relevant item(s). It is highly recommended to purchase the tricorder ability 'Research Helper' as soon as possible, as this will automatically highlight any audio logs within about 12m of your location. If you miss any during your playthrough it is easy enough to go back and pick up the missing ones by using chapter select. Make sure you do this after completing the whole game.

A descriptive list of all audio log locations can be found in this supplemental guide ---> http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/star-trek/197855-star-trek-game-collectible-guide.html

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/98B.jpgCaptain's Phaser Tinkerer (B)

Bought all upgrades for the Captain's Phaser

Upgrades can be bought using XP, which is gained by finding collectables (research items, audio logs, Tribbles), successfully hacking devices and from completing optional objectives. Press :select: to bring up the unlock menu. There are 9 upgrades that can be bought for the Captain's Phaser, totaling 12,000 XP. The trophy will unlock once you have bought them all. All the upgrades, their descriptions and their respective costs are as follows:

Kill:

Automatic Fire (1200XP) - Switches firing mode to full automatic.

Power Amplifier (2200XP) - Boosts damage output of each fourth shot fired.

Ricochet Shot (1100XP) - Allows shots to bounce off surfaces for additional damage output.

Stun:

Heat Efficient Shot (700XP) - Reduces heat cost of fired stun shots.

Knockout Shot (2400XP) - Enhances power of stun shots to knock out weaker enemies instantly. Heat cost greatly increases.

Weakening Shot (1400XP) - Adds an effect to stun shots that temporarily exposes the enemy's weak point.

Energy:

Firing Stabilizer (100XP) - Increasing accuracy for both firing modules.

Cooling System (1700XP) - Modifies heat management to allow immediate cool-down after firing.

Fire Rate Booster (1200XP) - Increases fire rate for both firing modules.

Although not totally needed because you will need to grind weapon/kill/misc trophies, an exploit was discovered by valdezerocool that works for all 3 upgrade trophies. Use this exploit to to unlock all of them by only saving up enough XP for the tricorder upgrades. What you have to do is upgrade either weapon or the tricorder and wait for the trophy to pop. Then quit to the XMB without going back to the main menu and restart the game. This way you should have all of the XP you had before. Then simply repeat for the other two trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/E0F.jpgTechnologic (B)

Cleared 30 mini-games including co-operative hacks, bypasses, and power reroutes

There are 3 types of mini games:

1) Matching waveforms.

2) Co-operative hacks.

3) Re-routing power.

They are all quite simple and you'll encounter more than enough during one playthrough to unlock this trophy. If you are playing with a partner, I'd suggest taking it in turns to reach 30. Once one person has the trophy, then switch to the other for all hacks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/D83.jpgNon-Lethal Master (B)

Took down 30 enemies in a non-lethal manner

There are many sections of the game where you will be asked to stun infected Starfleet and Vulcan personnel, which is considered to be taking out an enemy non-lethally. Use your phaser/repeater to stun them and then press :square: when prompted to knock them out. You can also use an upgrade for the phaser/repeater to knock one of the infected out instantly with one stun shot.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/40C.jpgDagger of the Mind (B)

Performed Mind Meld on 10 different enemies

This trophy can only be obtained by playing as Spock. Certain enemies throughout the campaign will have a blue human head logo next to their heads (while looking at them through the Tricorder aka holding :l2:). If these enemies are knocked out (as in stunned not killed) then Spock can approach their downed bodies and read their minds buy pressing :square:.

You will need to do this 10 times for the trophy but you only encounter about 5-6 of these guys throughout the campaign so a slight grind is required. Or if you played as Kirk a slightly longer grind is required.

The perfect place to grind this trophy is during the final mission of the final chapter Mothership > Final confrontation. Load up this mission on Easy difficulty. There are two guards guarding two terminals in the fairly small area that can be mind melded. From the beginning of the mission you can either kill or stun the initial 3-4 enemies before reaching two guards at the terminals. Once you reach the guards knock them out and mind meld them. Once you have the codes from jacking their brains use those codes to unlock the terminals. Once you unlock the terminals you reach a checkpoint and the game saves. After the game finishes saving pause it and hit restart level and repeat this process until you unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/68A.jpgLive Long and Prosper (B)

Revived your teammate (AI or co-op player) 20 times

When either your AI partner or co-op buddy has been downed by an enemy, approach them and press :square: to revive. Enemies will still be able to shoot you while reviving (the action takes a few seconds), so it is best to clear the room first, but be fairly quick as your partner will eventually die.

Even on the Hard difficulty you probably won't get this trophy during your first playthrough. So if you and your co-op partner find a good place to grind this out then by all means go ahead. But remember if both of you die before reaching a checkpoint then none of those revives will save.

One very good place to grind revives, either with the AI or a co-op partner, is during the Helios-1 chapter. Just before you reach the main command centre and speak to a Vulcan Lieutenant is a corridor with burning rubble at either end. One of you has to walk into the fire and go down, leaving the other to revive. This process can be repeated over and over very quickly, and there is also a medical station on one wall for the person getting revives to replenish their health.

If playing with the AI it is simple enough to direct them onto the rubble, and even once revived they will just stand there and be downed over and over until you command them to move elsewhere. If you are doing this with the AI I would recommend commanding them to move away from the rubble every 3-5 revives, as they move further into the flames each time, which means you eventually take damage while reviving.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/0CB.jpg Go Team! (B) (H)

Kill or take down an enemy that your teammate (AI or co-op player) has stunned

This trophy can be obtained very early on in the game during the New Vulcan chapter. There are plenty of enemies here that you have to stun instead of kill, so let your partner stun an enemy by using the stun setting on their weapon, and then use :square: when close to the enemy to take them down.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/E3E.jpgMy Robot Friend (B) (H)

Hack an enemy drone to your side and have it kill another enemy

You will have many opportunities to unlock this trophy while playing through the game. Its is also good practice to hack as many drones as possible because they are a great asset in battles. You hack a drone by first shooting it with a stun shot from your Phaser (handgun) by holding :l1: and pressing :r2:. Now with the drone down hack it by facing it and holding :l2: then pressing then holding :square:.

The first time you'll encounter a drone that can be hacked is on Frontier Starbase > Search for a Cure part 1. Stun it and then hack it using your tricorder to turn the drone friendly. Then attack the next enemies you see and let the drone finish them off.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/141.jpg I'll Cover You! (B) (H)

Order your teammate (AI or co-op player) and have him complete 5 bypasses in a row

Instead of hacking devices yourself, highlight them with the tricorder and press :triangle: to ask the AI, or your co-op buddy, to hack the device for you. Just make sure you do this for 5 devices in a row to unlock the trophy. I used the chapter Frontier Starbase - Search for a Cure Part 2 to obtain this trophy, as there are many devices in quick succession (including mines) that can be hacked.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/F3B.jpg One Man Army (B) (H)

Kill 3 enemies while your teammate (AI or co-op player) is in a downed state

When your co-op partner is down all you have to do is kill 3 enemies before reviving him, but be quick as he will eventually time out. You will also have to do this in the same down state as the trophy will not count cumulative kills over multiple downs. It is best attempted on a chapter with plenty of enemies, such as many places on the Frontier Starbase or during the Mothership>To the Top gauntlets.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/870.jpg Down But Not Out (B) (H)

Kill 3 enemies while in a single downed state

The reverse of One Man Army, but best done with a co-op buddy, as an AI partner will attempt to revive you as soon as you are downed. You can only use your default weapon while downed and can't move very far, so make sure you are pretty close to a group of enemies and let them shoot you. Once you are downed take them out asap. It may help to injure the enemies first, so you it won't take as long to kill them while downed.

One good place to use is right at the start of Gorn Planet - The Apple Part 2. Run up to the first bridge and you will be swarmed by a large group of enemies, but they won't be able to run after your partner as he should still be standing at the starting point. You'll easily be able to take down 3 enemies before the timer runs out.

There is a slight glitch many players have encountered with this trophy where it will only unlock while using a second controller, and not while playing online.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/4A8.jpg Arena (B) (H)

As Kirk, get a Gorn enemy to melee you

You will easily get this trophy the first time you encounter Gorn Rushers, as they like to use melee moves. Just let one run up to you and melee before trying to shoot it down.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1062/4BE.jpg I Have Been, and Always Shall Be, Your Friend (B) (H)

As Spock, bleed out during a downed state, leaving Kirk alone and failing the mission

To unlock this trophy you need to be playing as Spock. Its also suggested that you are playing on Hard mode because on lower difficulties your character tends to get up from the downed state on their own very frequently. Now while playing as Spock simply go down do to any type of damage and bleed out causing you to fail the mission.

If you don't get this trophy during your playthough or you played as Kirk, one fast place to get this trophy using chapter select is Frontier Starbase > Search for a Cure Part 1. This section starts with a brief 7 second cutscene and an angry turret ready to slice you in half. As Spock walk into the fire of the turret to go down and bleed out. If your character gets up the turret will happily take you down again. The same location used for Down But Not Out also works well to unlock this trophy.

Warning Note: This trophy seems to be glitchy. During our playthrough my co-op partner and I tried on multiple occasions but the trophy did not unlock upon Spock's death. I was finally able to unlock this trophy by using two controllers playing local co-op and selecting using the above mentioned strategy.

Looking good guys! The reviews haven't been great, but might borrow it off a friend who's got it soon.

As said above, all the spoiler IDs need to be seperate as they currently are all the same, so just open Astro's sig in his first post. You should remove yor sigs from all posts anyway, and then change every ID to something different for each story-related trophy :)

Half of the spoiler IDs should be fixed now and the rest asap. That's the problem with having such a long guide sometimes - one or two minor things might get overlooked when first posted.

Its not as bad as the reviews make it out to be. It won't be GOTY or win awards - that's for sure! The reviews I've read sound more like big fans of the franchise who were expecting something amazingly good, so they upped their expectations far too high, and then threw their toys out of the pram when it wasn't what they expected.

This trophy is not so much glitched as you HAVE to be the host, I myself confirmed it and a friend Becque have tested it 3 times in a row on different levels and so on. You'd have to be the host to get this in online co-op. This also is noted for the Live Long and Prosper Trophy as well.

Yeah, I'm one of those affected by the optional objectives trophy glitch. :( The 'Honorary Commendation' didn't unlock for me. After beating the game, I went back to Chapter Select and proceeded to clear all optional objectives, and only the 'Exemplary Commendation' gold trophy unlocked for me. Anyway, I started a new solo game and am half way through. I'm hoping that 'Honorary Commendation' will unlock for me after I've done half of the objectives.

This game is quite glitchy in various ways and I hope most people won't encounter the glitches. Nevertheless, I do enjoy the game even though it has bad reviews. I played it in both 3D and regular too.

Another note is that completing all objectives is probably best done solo, unless your co-op partner knows what and how to do stealth. Eg, your partner may decide to hack a Gorn turret, however, when an enemy walks by the hacked turret, it will be shot at and the objective to not provoke any enemies will be nullified.

I recommend using Kirk and installing his 2nd stun upgrade that allows him to stun-knock-out the infected and weaker Gorn enemies from far away.

EDIT: Starting on New Game doesn't help with the 'Honorary Commendation' unlocking. Although all collectible, upgrades are reset, each chapter still shows the optional objectives already done. So as recommended, I will now have to delete my save file and try again. Grrrr...

I'm trying to do the co-op trophies Away team: Mission in Progress and Away team: Mission Accomplished in local co-op. But I have no idea at what point during the chapter gameplay these should pop

Does anyone know how co-op completion is tracked? Working that out would solve alot of problems.

Right now it is IMPOSSIBLE to continue game with a local co-op partner if you want to break it up over a number of sessions. You have to chapter select, which overwrites your 'continue' save and manually enter the part of the chapter you were on.

There are no points in the menu which tell you which chapters you have completed single player or via co-op. I'm currently trying to work out where i've gone wrong. I've done local co-op all the way through now, 2 more main chapters left.

But I still don't have the 'complete 4 chapters on co-op' which means i'm pretty sure the full completion trophy won't work either.

If I can work out how progress is tracked for the co-op completion, then i'll keep hold of it and shoot for the plat. If not, this little turd of a game is going in for a trade in.

If you've completed the whole of 4 chapters then it should definitely have popped by now.

Using the AI can be just as frustrating as well. I had a few instances where it stood up for no reason and other times where it shot at the enemy without permission! As long as you're playing with someone who understands what to do, then having a human player is more reassuring.

Hope you got the optional objectives glitch sorted out.

Yeah, I needed to delete the save file and start from fresh. I got 'Honorary Commendation' during the 11th optional mission (the first one on Gorn Planet I believe). Really don't know what happened on my first playthrough. Grrr...

Anyway, I did all optional objectives with the AI and with another co-op friend, both on Hard. Actually, I found that sometimes, the Gorn didn't even see my AI partner! My friend hadn't played most of the games, so he mostly followed when I told him what to do, and it was quite smooth as well. Kirk's stun-knockout upgrade makes a few of the optional objectives quite trivial and they work on almost all enemies.
