Introduction:

The year is A.D. 2087. In the aftermath of World War III, Earth has been ravaged and the population decimated by a deteriorating environment. The countries that survived have joined together to form the Greater Unified Nations and turned their eyes skyward...to space. Edge Maverick and his childhood friend Reimi Saionji are chosen as pioneer members of the Space Reconnaissance Force, which was created to seek out new worlds beyond the stars. Their ship, the Calnus, takes its place on the lunar launch pad along with four other starships of the first reconnaissance fleet. These ships - humanity's last hope - blast off one-by-one and sail into the awaiting wormhole that leads to the vast star ocean. And so, Edge and his crew begin their voyage in search of a new haven for humanity...and a second chance.

Warning! Read First Before You Begin:

Before you begin your long journey to 100% Platinum you must know the missables such as missable Chests, Quest/Orders, Item Creation Recipes, Spaceship Data, Weapon Data, and Private Actions. These missable things are small, but can ruin your game and cause you to spend an extra 100 hours of game time. Trust me, you don't want to go back and collect everything all over again like I did on my second playthrough on Universe Mode. Second of all, I advise you not to sell anything. All items in your items inventory are extremely important and can be used to complete Quest/Orders and are used in the Item Creation Process. There are some items in the game that you can only get once and if you happen to sell it, then you just stopped yourself from obtaining a 100% completion of all possible items created for World's Biggest Welch Fan trophy. Once you created an item don't sell them either because created items might be used again for other item creation recipes.

Check out the Star Ocean: The Last Hope International Appendix thread before you start playing. The Appendix lists all the critical information needed to acquire 100% completion of the game such as missable Chests, Quest/Orders, Item Creation Recipes, Spaceship Data, Weapon Data, Private Actions, etc.

Oh, I also advise beginners who are new to the game to do the full Battle Simulator Tutorial. Although it will take about 2 hours to complete them all it is extremely helpful for this game’s battle system isn’t like traditional Japanese RPGs. Plus you’ll have a better understanding of how to be more effective on the battle fields.

Road Map:

The following planets are listed in the order of the story progression. These are descriptions of what must be done while on that Planet before leaving or moving on toward the next planet to continue with the story's progress. Remember to save frequently and make extra save files just in case you happen to mess up along the way.

Planet Aeos:

When your ship crash lands on Planet Aeos, return to the Calnus and speak to Van, who is standing outside of the Meeting Room, to earn Recipe Memo No. 05. You’ll need this for an Item Creation recipe and you won’t be able to get this again once you become Captain of the Calnus. Next, after defeating Armaros (The first boss) on the beach, return to the Calnus's crash location to find the Exploration Base. Enter the Exploration Base and collect the two missable chests located south of the save sphere which contains:

5. Blueberries x 1, Blackberries x 1
6. Uncooked Pasta x 1, Olive Oil x 1

Thirdly, be sure to buy an Eldarian Bow (Cost 500 Fol) at the Exploration Base's Omega Shop before leaving the planet. This bow is needed for a Shop Order on Planet Lemuris (next planet designation) in the Village Triom. Last of all, be sure to fulfill all the Shop Orders on the Exploration Base before heading to Planet EN II (The flight's event actually ends up on an Alternate Earth) and retrieve the spaceship's collection data from the terminals there (which now includes Calnus-II, but you can get this once you become Captain of the Calnus). The following are the Spaceship Data you need before leaving:

001: SRF-003 Calnus:
Found: Calnus Flight Deck (Monitor)

002. Calnus-II (w/Eldarian Upgrades):
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base - Transmission Room (Monitor, after obtaining Calnus)

004: SRF-001 Aquila:
Found: Calnus Flight Deck (Monitor)

006. SRF-006 Balena:
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Communications Room (Monitor)

007. SRF-003 Dentdelion:
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Communications Room (Monitor)

008. SRF-005 Eremia:
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Communications Room (Monitor)

012. Zagzagel (Eldarian Cruiser):
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Living Quarters (Monitor)

015. Rednuht (Eldarian Battleship):
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Living Quarters (Monitor)

016. Sol (Eldarian Shuttlecraft):
Found: Aeos: Exploration Base-Living Quarters (Monitor)

Planet Lemuris:

Once in Triom’s Village make sure you get the missable chest in Lymle’s Grandpa’s house (Ghimdo's House).

1. Demon Amulet x 1

Complete all of Triom's Shop Orders before battling the boss of this section of the game (Barachiel), as you are never given another opportunity to do so. Once the boss is defeated, all shops in Triom's village will all close down for good. Next make sure you recharged your Fire Ring to full (Cost 800 Fol). There are Ice Barrier chests you’ll need to unseal with it during the Cardianon Mothership and Alternate Earth events. Also make sure you collected the following before leaving this planet:

* White Rice x 3 (Harvest: Lemuris)
* Gambleberries x 3 (Harvest: Lemuris)
* Iron x 5 (Drops: Polyphaga; Mine: Lemuris)
* Silver x 4 (Drops: Stone Golem; Mine: Lemuris)
* Lizardskin x 5 (Drops: Lizard Soldier, Wise Lizardmen)

Cardianon Mothership:

First of all, make sure your Fire Ring is fully charged to unseal the Ice Barrier chests. Every section (Cardianon Mothership: Dock, Subterranean City, and Control Tower) must be completed in full before moving on because you’re unable to return back to each of these sections of the ship. Collect all chests, monster data, and spaceship data. The following is the list of things you need collected:

Alternate Earth:

First of all, make sure you at least have two more charges on your Fire Ring. If you had recharged it fully before the Cardianon Mothership event, then you should still have a good number of charges left to unseal the two Ice Barrier chests on this planet. All chests and monster data must be completed before finishing this event. The weapons data are story events. There are no spaceships data on this planet that you need to worry about. The following are the chests you need to collect:

Abandoned Town
1. Thornberries x 3
2. Red Herb x 2
3. Silver Amulet x 1
4. Blueberries x 4
5. Aquaberries x 2
6. Bigberries x 3 (Gas Station Shop)
7. Fresh Sagex 2 (Klaus House)
8. Protection Seeds x 1 (Can collect as soon as you open the gate door where the hidden military base is)

Military Facility
1. Aquaberries x 2
2. Skill Manual "Scan Enemy" x 1
3. {Ice Barrier} Compact Freezing Bomb x 3
4. Earth Ring x 1
5. Thornberries x 1, Blueberries x 1, Aquaberries x 1
6. Skill Manual "No Guard" x 1
7. Alien Arc x 1
8. Dragon Scale x 1
9. Alien's Robe x 1
10. Foal Snaps x 1
11. Plasma Cannon x 1
12. Compact Stun Bomb x 2
13. Fresh Sage x 2
14. {Ice Barrier} Compact Freezing Bomb x 3

Planet Aeos - Exploration Base Ruins Investigation/Faize Switch:

For your first playthrough you're forced to get rid of Faize because he'll leave your party to save his brethren. So make sure you remove all his equipment before you fight the Phantoms. Arumat will take his place in his steed and Arumat is needed to get the last recipes. Before you switch places with the characters you must know that Faize is required in four Item Creation Recipes. If you're going for the 100% Item Creation trophy for World's Biggest Welch Fan, make sure you learn all four of the following before he leaves the party:

Elastic Rapier
S. Lv 4, Smith 19, Alch 4, Eng 12, Craft 6, Sense 2
Group: Faize
Carbon Fiber x2, Silver x1, Steel x3, Swept Hilt x1

Iron Saber
S. Lv 2, Smith 10, Alch 8, Eng 1, Sense 9
Group: Faize
Iron x3, Sharkskin x2, Silver x1

Onyx Saber
S. Lv 8, Smith 7, Cook 1, Alch 8, Eng 2, Comp 1, Sense 13
Group: Faize
Darkness Gem x4, Gold x1, Moonstone x2, Philosopher's Stone x1, Swept Hilt x1

Rune Saber
S. Lv 6, Smith 12, Cook 4, Alch 4, Eng 12, Sense 9
Group: Faize
Ash x1, Bracteate x2, Runic Metal x2, Swept Hilt x1

Side Note:
If you're on your second or later playthrough and you decide to keep Faize in your party instead of taking Arumat. You'll be unable to get the Crowe or Faize endings because Arumat won't be on your ship to trigger Private Actions with. Plus you will not be able to complete all the quest since you'll need Arumat's Duplication skill to complete some of the quest in the game that requires Arumat to make another copy of the item.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Galaxy Playthrough
Start your game on Galaxy Mode. If you're following the guide and the Star Ocean: The Last Hope International Appendix then it'll be possible for you to achieve all 9 endings in your first playthrough. This is a time saver and you'll no longer need to bother doing the Private Actions during your Universe and Chaos Mode playthroughs. To help you get some Private Actions make Faize your roommate, then make Faize and Lymle roommates when you're going to return to Aeos, and finally Arumat your roommate for the remainder of the game. The Private Actions thread will help you trigger them all to get all 9 endings much easier. Your next Objective should be collecting 100% of all the data since you've all the missables. Once you collected 100% of the data collecting information, all that's left is your Battle Trophies and difficulty trophies. It's best to get everyone's battle trophies to 100% each. After all, battle trophies will add hundreds of hours to achieve and the faster you work on these the better. Once you get them all, Faize will be the last set of Battle Trophies for you to work on.

Step 2: Universe Playthrough

Once you complete the game on Galaxy Mode, start a new game and transfer your collection data on Universe Mode. Completing Universe Mode will unlock the Universal Victor trophy. If you missed any of the endings during step 1 playthrough, now would be a good time to work on that character's ending. If you missed any data collecting trophies then this is also a good opportunity to knock them off too.

Step 3: Chaos Playthrough
Once you completed the game on Universe Mode, start a new game and transfer your collection data on Chaos Mode. Completing Chaos Mode will unlock the Chaotic Conqueror trophy. Again, if you missed any endings or data collecting during your last two playthroughs now would be a good time to work on those.

Step 4: Mop Up on Earth Mode (Optional)
Finish any trophies you missed on this mode. Enemies are extremely weak and everything is also a lot easier. This is the best mode to work on your Battle Trophies and choose to keep Faize during this playthrough and work on his Battle Trophies.

Trophy Guide:

Rookie Battler
Obtain 15% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 135/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Practiced Battler
Obtain 30% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 270/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Skilled Battler
Obtain 45% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 405/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Seasoned Battler
Obtain 60% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 540/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Advanced Battler
Obtain 75% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 675/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Master Battler
Obtain 90% of all battle trophies.

Obtain 810/900 battle trophies.
Also see Ultimate Battler.

Ultimate Battler
Obtain 100% of all battle trophies.

Obtain all 900 battle trophies. Each character in the game has a total of 100 battle trophies to obtain. Most of these battle trophies will unlock naturally just by playing as that character over the course of the game. The AI can help you obtain some battle trophies such as getting kills etc, but the battle trophy won't unlock till you selected that character and finish a battle. For example, I haven't used Reimi since I left Planet Aeos and when I got to the Place of Creation near the end of the game. I selected Reimi since Edged died and I interrupted an enemy's casting and got Reimi's battle trophies for interrupt an enemy's casting 44, 99, 144, 200, and 255 times at the end of the battle. Another tip is to return to areas you previously explored and set everyone on manual, then you can do your battle trophy business without your AI party interrupting you such as pulling off 1,000 blindsides, attack first 50 time in a row, get the last kill 30 times, land 85 consecutive long-range attacks, etc.

The main character that you should be concerned about is really Faize. This is due to the fact that he leaves your party during your first playthrough. Although during your second and later playthroughs, you can choose to keep him to work on his battle trophies. However, if you missed the World's Biggest Welch Fan trophy during your first playthrough or even second playthrough, then always select Arumat so you can knock off that annoying item fetching trophy.

These battle trophies can be worked on over multiple playthroughs, but the battle trophies statistics aren't carried over. Take the kill battle trophies for example, If Edge killed 8,000 enemies and I restart my game on Universe Mode and transfer my data and killed another 8000. I will not get the battle trophy for Edge's kill 15,000 enemies. So it's best to focus on getting all the statistic battle trophies out of the way first before moving on to another saved game. I found it more effective and efficient that way. If you have obtained different battle trophies on different saves, then don't fright because the save data transfer will transfer over all battle trophies onto a new game.

A helpful source to help you unlock all the battle trophies:
GameFAQs: Star Ocean: The Last Hope (X360) Battle Trophy FAQ by fliptout

Ship Savant
Collect 100% of all spaceship data.

Missable!!!
There are a total of 22 spaceship data scattered throughout the universe. You can obtain these spaceship data by inspecting the monitors/terminals on various planets and ships. For a complete list of each spaceship data, refer to the Spaceship Data Appendix thread.

Although I marked this one as a missable this can be earned over multiple playthroughs. It's missable if you didn't get the spaceship data from the missable locates. Refer to the missables above for more info.

Arms Addict
Collect 100% of all weapon data.

Missable!!!
There are a total of 147 weapons data that can be collected throughout the game. You collect weapon data buy purchasing them from shops, finding them in chests, and by creating them with item creation. The other half of weapons data can be collected by inspecting objects, speaking to the NPCs (Non Playable Characters), and by defeating monsters who's holding a weapon's data. Make sure to buy every weapon in town's shopping areas, even if you're never going to equip it. For a complete list of each weapon data, refer to the Weapon Data Appendix thread.

Although I marked it as a missable trophy. This trophy can be earned over multiple playthroughs. It's missable only if you didn't get Faize's item creation recipes which makes four of his weapons for the weapon data collection.

Creature Collector
Collect 50% of all monster data.

Obtain 77/154 monster data.
Also see Monster Master.

Monster Master
Collect 100% of all monster data.

There are a total of 154 monsters in the game. You don't need to get 100% knowledge on each monster to unlock these trophies. You just need to fight and kill them once to have them appear in your monster collection. For a complete list of each monster and their locations, refer to the Monster Data Appendix thread.

Dilettante Designer
Create 20% of all possible items.

Create 65/321 possible items.
Also see World's Biggest Welch Fan.

Aspiring Architect
Create 40% of all possible items.

Create 129/321 possible items.
Also see World's Biggest Welch Fan.

Creative Craftsman
Create 60% of all possible items.

Create 193/321 possible items.
Also see World's Biggest Welch Fan.

Inspired Inventor
Create 80% of all possible items.

Create 257/321 possible items.
Also see World's Biggest Welch Fan.

World's Biggest Welch Fan
Create 100% of all possible items.

Missable!!!
There are a total of 321 items/recipes to create throughout the game. I advise you to write down every item you create. There's no way to keep track of what items you created in the game. The Memory Plate (ship furnishing item) that you can create can tell you how many recipes that you discovered as well how many that you actually created. Checking off items created as you play will help avoid the confusion of the items that you still need to make and will help avoid the replica items you make.

Also note that this is one of the hardest and most time consuming trophies in the game. As mentioned in the huge Warning! Read First Before You Begin section that leads to explaining the missables within the Roadmap at the top of this guide. Make sure you learn the four item creation recipes that involves Faize in the item invention process: Elastic Rapier, Iron Saber, Onyx Saber, Rune Saber. If you miss any of these recipes then you won't be able to get 100% to unlock this trophy and Arumat is needed to get the last recipes and will make inventing items easier much later in the game with the ever so awesome "Duplication" skill.

For a complete list of each item creation, refer to the Item Creation Appendix thread.

For a complete list of each item ingredients, refer to the Item Ingredients Location Appendix thread.

Needs to be done in a single playthrough!!!

Treasure Hunter
Open 50% of all treasure chests.

Will come overtime, but if you're following the Treasure Chest Appendix guide then this will unlock during the Purgatorium on Planet Roak.
Also see Treasure Hoarder.

Treasure Hoarder
Open 100% of all treasure chests.

Missable!!!
This is a very time consuming trophy. Many treasure chests in the game are missable due to the fact that you can't leave or return back to some of the dungeons in the game. So make sure you check every area you're in by using Lymle's helpful passive skill call “Treasure Sense”, a skill that makes all treasure chests, harvesting points, and mining points appear on your auto map. So get into the habit of pressing the start button every now and then to scan the area of treasure chest. Last of all, make sure that you recharged your rings before heading toward your next designation. The number one you really need to keep charged is your Fire Ring. If you're out of charges and come across an ice barrier chest, then you be out of luck and will need to restart from scratch all over again on another playthrough. For a complete list of each chest, refer to the Treasure Chest Appendix thread.

Needs to be done in a single playthrough!!!

Errand Boy
Complete 50% of all quests.

Complete 102/201 quests.
Also see Dutiful Deliverer.

Dutiful Deliverer
Complete 100% of all quests.

Missable!!!
Like in every other game before the quests are all item fetching. There are two methods to go about receiving and completing these quests. The normal way is by accepting the NPCs requests and the second way is by accepting shop's orders. Some of these quest are missable and they're early in the game. So refer to the above Roadmap at the top of this section to avoid missing the missable quest/orders. For a complete list of each quest/orders in the game, refer to the Quest Appendix thread.

Needs to be done in a single playthrough!!!

Secret Trophies

Abolished Armaros
Defeat Armaros on the northern coast of Aeos.

Armaros is the first boss you will encounter on the northern coast of Aeos. His weak spot is located on his right side, unfortunately, it is currently covered by his shell reducing your attack to an average of 10 damage per hit. If a glowing symbol appears in front of Armaros, he is about to cast Ice Needles. Run around him to completely avoid them. When he targets you and slowly moves towards you, charge your blindside to slip behind him and deal some damage. Due to his shell still being active the additional damage will be minuscule, 1-2 damage approximately. When he is attacking your other party members, chip off some more of his shell.

Every now and then you'll be able to see the weak spot underneath the shell, but you won't be able to attack it yet. If he turns to face you, quickly dodge by pressing and a direction. Eventually, you'll be able to attack his weak spot and will start inflicting 100+ damage. This is a sign that the battle is almost over. After several direct hits, Armaros will be defeated.

For more details on Blindsiding, Rush Combos & Special Arts refer to the Battle Information section.

Butchered Barachiel
Defeat Barachiel in the engine room of the Celestial Ship.

Barachiel is the second boss fought in the Celestial Ship on Lemuris. This boss is weak against fire, so acquiring fire based weapons will make the battle go much more smoothly. Buy a Torch Bow from Woodley Weapon Shop VIII at Woodley Village for Reimi and make a Flame Sword for Edge via Item Creation. A Blessed Sword and two Fire Gems are required to make the weapon. Refer to the Item Creation Appendix for more details. Barachiel is resistant to water, so you should also disable Faize's Ice Needles Symbology.

Control Reimi for this battle. You will spend the majority of the battle targeted by Barachiel. When he locks onto you, hold and move the left or right to slip behind him and hit his weak spot. If you mistime the blindside, you may be knocked back by Barachiel's Dragon Tornado attack. Additionally, during the few seconds that he is exposed by his Dragon Tornado move, you can fire arrows at the weak point unless one of your party members attacks it first. If you are too close to Barachiel when firing, you may hit his body instead of the weak point. A better strategy is to quickly run behind him and fire away.

Once Barachiel's health has been depleted enough he will occasionally cast Freezing Circle. This will create an icy patch in the area around him and expose his weak point. If you are within the ice when he resurfaces, you risk the chance of being frozen. Using Double Rush Combos whenever possible is a decent additional strategy for this battle. For best results, make sure Lymle is the closest character before initiating the Rush Combo.

For more details on Blindsiding, Rush Combos & Special Arts refer to the Battle Information section.

Squelched Sahariel
Defeat Sahariel in the Cardianon control tower's central isolation chamber.

Sahariel is the third boss on the Cardianon Mothership fought after conquering the barrier maze. He fires homing missiles regularly. Quickly run around him to hopefully avoid getting hit. He also fires rockets, but not as regularly as the homing missiles. If you are too close to him when he fires the rockets, you will be knocked down even if it's not aimed at you. If you are right in his face, he may perform a stomp attack knocking you down unless you are in rush mode.

His weak point is located on his belly which is only revealed when he uses two of his special attacks, V-Beam or Voltage Blast. Run up to him quickly and use Stampede Slash to deal damage. You can keep spamming the move for additional damage until Sahariel enters Rush Mode. As with Armaros, attacking Sahariel anywhere other than his weak point will inflict minuscule damage. Keep hammering his weak point with Stampede Slash to defeat him. Alternatively, you can use Bacchus' Galvanic Shock ability to defeat him. I, however, prefer to use Edge due to his superior agility.

Escaped from Earth
Escape from the alternate Earth before its untimely demise...

Story related. It'll unlock after you escape from the alternate Earth's destruction.

Trounced Tamiel
Defeat Tamiel and his Sydonaist henchmen in the hallowed halls of the Purgatorium.

Tamiel is the fourth boss fought in the Purgatorium on Roak. Before facing Tamiel, you have to defeat two waves of Sydonaist Alpha's and Beta's. They can inflict poison, so make sure your party have either Anti-Poison Amulets equipped, a healthy supply of Aquaberries, the Cure Condition symbol or Symbol Card. Once Tamiel appears, he will be with more of his Sydonaist henchmen. Eventually the henchmen will acquire several attack boosts, so take all out but one or two or they can destroy the rest of your party members. Tamiel will eventually summon more if they are all defeated, so leaving two still standing is a good idea.

Onto the actual strategy for this boss, Tamiel. As Edge, repeatedly combo the boss, so that he cannot counter it. Once his health is in the 25-50% region, he will use a deadly laser attack. This laser can inflict 1000+ damage, has a long range and can hit several times. Whenever you see the name of the attack pop up on the screen, run away to hopefully reduce the number of times the laser hits you. If you're feeling overly cautious, get a few hits in from behind, run away, rinse and repeat. If you're still struggling with this fight, go back to Astral and purchase HP Boost from Mobius' One-Stop Shop. You'll need to set it as a battle skill via the battle config and have enough SP to level it up. Use to use Party SP if your individual SP is running low.

For more details on Blindsiding, Rush Combos & Special Arts refer to the Battle Information section.

Massacred Manifest
Defeat Armaros Manifest in the grimy depths of the Miga Insect Warren.

Armaros Manifest is the fifth boss fought inside Aeos' Miga Insect Warren. Along with the boss, two Dermoptera will also be participating in this fight. Kill one of them off. Killing them both will just cause them to be summoned again later in the fight making it pointless.

As you have probably noticed, the bosses weak point is located on it's tail. You can only attack the tail by blindsiding the beast. Hold down when the boss is targeting you and move left or right to slip behind the enemy and land critical damage on the weak spot. A blindside will fail if you hold down for too long. The battle simulator on the Calnus top floor can be used to practice blindsiding if you are not confident using the ability. If you don't have two healers in your active party, your other party members will probably die rather quickly. Don't bother reviving them, It's a waste of both time and items. Just blindside Manifest repeatedly until he falls.

Quelled Kokabiel
Defeat Kokabiel and her spawn in the sacred En II Sanctuary.

Kokabiel is the sixth boss fought when you finally reach En II. In order to make the boss the vulnerable, you need to defeat her spawn first. Four of her spawn are immune to damage, so ignore them and attack the others. Once only the immune spawns remain Kokabiel will draw them in while charging. During this process one of the spawns will glow, this is the weak point. Bacchus' Termination and Black Hole Sphere abilities, which you learn at levels 38 & 51 is great for disposing of her spawn.

Arumat is a good choice to control for the majority of this battle as he fights with a wide range Scythe, so it shouldn't matter which one you try to hit, you'll hit them all anyway. Continuously center your combos on the boss to deal massive damage. Afterwards, Kokabiel will summon more spawns and you'll have to continue repeating the above process. Once her health is depleted enough, she will initiate a rush combo. Be cautious when Kokabiel Rush Combo appears on the screen as this attack can take a large chunk out of your HP if you take the full brunt of the attack.

For more details on Blindsiding, Rush Combos & Special Arts refer to the Battle Information section.

Silenced Satanail
Defeat Satanail in the Palace of Creation on Nox Obscurus.

Satanail is the final boss fought on Nox Obscurus after finding your way through the Palace of Creation. Satanail is weak against light, but resistant to dark element attacks. If you used the Light Ring on a chest in area 6 to acquire the weapon Holy Sword "Farewell", make sure Edge is equipped with it. If you decide to use Arumat for this battle, make sure he is not equipped with the Grim Reaper Scythe as it is a darkness based weapon. There is no save point between Satanail and the previous boss, be prepared for another two boss battles if you die.

Prior to the battle, make sure to have a good of Blackberries and Fresh Sages/Resurrection Elixirs in your inventory. A good party for this battle is Edge, Arumat, Meracle & Sarah. Additionally, set the battle tactics for each party member except Sarah to “Gang up on foes with full force!”. This will cause your party to follow your lead and attack the orbs that Satanail will create to shield himself.

As soon as the battle starts, manually control Sarah and move her as far away from the boss as possible. Satanail protects himself with a shield of four colored orbs. The yellow orbs have a unique ability to inflict status conditions, so be sure to have recovery items and cure condition symbols ready whenever inflicted. It is best to attack the orbs from the side during this phase. You will score less hits on the orbs, but you will be inflicted with little or no status effects. Satanail is completely immune to damage until each orb has been destroyed.

Once you have destroyed all the orbs shielding Satanail, it’s best to exchange some of your ranged fighters for long ranged fighters because Satanail has a spinning attack that he’ll use frequently that will inflict major damage to everyone surrounding him. Keeping Sarah and one of the melee fighters on the field, add your best symbol-user of either Lymle or Myuria and Reimi (if Reimi isn’t a good choice for you then go with Bacchus). Satanail is now vulnerable to all attacks from any angle on the battlefield during this phase.

Satanail will take a lot of punishment before this long battle reaches its conclusion, so it’s best to take control of your melee fighter and inflict the most damage you can do by using their special arts and rush combo attacks. Once his health is low, he will start spamming Dawn of the Cosmos. Whenever you see this attack pop up on the screen run away or try to interrupt it with a rush combo. If you’re sustaining too much damage, switch to Sarah instead and manually support everyone with healing and reviving symbols support. While in control of Sarah, use enhancement symbols such as Enshelter, Enhance, and Angel Feather to reduce the stress on the battlefield. Keep attacking and providing support and you’ll eventually save the universe.

For more details on Blindsiding, Rush Combos & Special Arts refer to the Battle Information section.

Reimi's Ending
View Reimi's ending sequence.

After defeating the final boss, you'll view the game's lengthy ending that follows with all seven of Edge's comrades endings. After the credits roll, you can view the game's two bonus epilogues (Crowe's and Faize's endings). Your comrades' endings are based off of affinity. If a character's affinity for Edge and Edge's affinity for that character combine to reach a certain value, then you'll earn that character's ending. If you refrained from pickpocketing, took doses of Love Potion No. 256, and kept talking to your comrades during the travels, then you'll be good. Arumat is one of the hardest endings to unlock; however, if you make him your roommate the moment he joins your party and kept doing his Private Actions. Then you should have no trouble earning his ending. Winning the affinities towards Reimi, Bacchus, Lymle, and Meracle should be easy. Myuria and Sarah are said to be tricky to gain affinity with, but these ladies aren't that difficult as Arumat is. It's also possible to earn all 9 endings in one playthrough. To earn all 9 endings in a single playthrough, refer to the Private Action Appendix thread.

If you're wondering the order that the endings will unlock. Then they are as follows: Lymle, Bacchus, Meracle, Sarah, Myuria, Arumat, Reimi, Credits Rows, then Crowe, and finally Faize.

Lymle's Ending

Arumat's Ending

Faize's Ending
View Faize's ending sequence.

Faize ending can be one of the hardest to earn out of the 9 total. It's best to make Faize your roommate at the very beginning when Faize joins your party, until you're needed to pair him up with Lymle. To unlock Faize's ending, you must trigger the following eight Private Actions over the course of the game:

1. On the third leg of the flight to Lemuris to Cardianon, view Faize's first training event in the storage area north of the meeting room.

2. On the fifth leg of the flight from the Cardianon Mothership to the alternate Earth, trigger the event at the Item Creation terminal that ends with an accidental kiss between Lymle and Faize.

3. On the next leg of the same flight, speak with Lymle in the Recreation Room.

4. On the next leg of the flight from Planet Roak to Planet Aeos, skip the Meracle event and speak to Lymle in the Recreation Room instead.

5. This is the Private Action requires that Faize and Lymle be roommates!!! Speak to them in their shared room on either the fourth leg of the flight from Roak to Planet Aeos, or after triggering the angry-Faize training event while docked on Planet Aeos.

6. On the second leg of the flight from Planet Aeos to En II, have some cookies with Lymle and Reimi in the Recreation Room.

7.
On the seventh leg of the flight from Planet Aeos to En II, speak to Sarah and Lymle in the room with the battle simulator.

8.
Finally, while docked on Nox Obscurus, speak with Lymle in the storage area north of the Meeting Room. To trigger this Private Action. Lymle needs to have a good amount of Affinity for Edge and Faize (this is Lymle's last Private Action).

Crowe's Ending
View Crowe's ending sequence.

To unlock Crowe's ending, you must earn the endings for Reimi, Meracle, and Sarah, and to have completed the following Private Actions:

1. On the fifth leg of the flight to Cardianon, speak to Reimi in the battle simulator (this is the only Private Action for that flight)

2. After recruiting Myuria but before you complete the Purgatorium, return to the Calnus and speak to Bacchus and Myuria in the Crew Quarters.

3. During the flight to En II and also while docked on En II, you're given several opportunities to trigger a Private Action between Edge, Arumat, and Reimi in which Arumat asks about your relationship with Crowe. You must tell Arumat that Crowe is either your best friend or rival you must over come.

4. Finally, place a Funeral Bouquet bear the remains of Crowe's ship in the Halls of Termination (Near the entrance to the Palace of Creation. It's marked with an exclamation mark) on Nox Obscurus. (This is the last Private Action of the game)

Colosseum Charter
Break into the top 30 in solo or team battle rankings.

See Colosseum Champion.

Colosseum Challenger
Break into the top 10 in solo or team battle rankings.

See Colosseum Champion.

Colosseum Champion
Take over the top spot in solo or team battle rankings.

In order to obtain these colosseum battle trophies, you must first complete the "Where’s the Receptionist?" quest on Planet Roak in the city of Tatroi (refer to quest guide for quest info). Once that's completed you can compete in the Colosseum's battle. It's best to try and attempt these trophies after you have beaten the game and have unlocked the Cave of the Seven Stars bonus dungeon. The reason is because your party member's level will be around the level 160 ranges after conquering that dungeon's final boss Gabriel Celeste. Once you defeat him, return back to the upper levels and finish team battle rankings for the number 1 spot. The number 1 spot is held by one of the most powerful foes in the game, Ashlay Bernbeldt, and he's needed for the 100% monster data collection. It's also best to have two melee fighters and two heals/long range fighters (I prefer Edge, Meracle, Sarah, and Myuria).

It's possible to earn these trophies in solo colosseum battles as long as you have your character in the 130-140 range, then you should have no trouble (I prefer Edge since he can use healing, covert, and berserk skills. Make sure you have Rush Mode B at level 20).

Hasty Hare Handler
Earn 50 victories in class 100 bunny racing.

See Rapid Rabbit Wrangler.

Rapid Rabbit Wrangler
Earn 100 victories in class 100 bunny racing.

In order to obtain these bunny racing trophies, you must first complete the "Listless Bunny" quest on Planet Roak in the city of Tatroi's Underground Bunny Racing Colosseum (refer to quest guide for quest info).Once you completed the quest you'll now have your very own bunny to complete in competitive bunny races. To unlock these trophies you need to win 100 times in class 100 races, which is the hardest of the races. To easily win these races without trouble. Just max out all your bunnies stats to the maximum level of 200 each. There are three categories that you'll need to level up with Reimi's cooking skills. They are as follows:

* Speed Pie: +3 Speed
* Acceleration Pie: +3 Acceleration
* Stamina Pie: +3 Stamina
* Miracle Pie: +3 (Random Stat)

Strategy to win races:

At the start of the bunny race. Jump, you'll briefly stun all the bunnies, as they're stunned dash forward past them. As they become un-stunned, jump again and dash forward gaining an huge lead at the start of the 1st lap. Once your on the top of the hill that is over the tunnel jump again to stun the bunnies that are all far behind you and move forward and dash every two or so hops ahead. Once you reach the tunnel's entrance jump again and move through the tunnel and then jump again once you exit to the other side of the tunnel. You'll further slow down the bunnies behind you making it impossible to catch up to you. Keep moving and dashing forward and you'll reach the lap finish line. Every time you reach or pass the lap finish line, perform a jump to slow the bunnies down and just repeat the process over and over again till you reached the lap the third time to win the bunny race. You'll win in about 1:54 every time on average with this strategy. If a bunny stuns you and while you're still in the lead of the race. Always perform a jump just to stun the bunnies behind you and to maintain the huge gap in the race.

I have never lost a bunny race with this basic winning method. It's extremely boring to win 100 of these but can be done in about 3-4 hours.

Celestial Slayer
Defeat Gabriel Celeste.

Successfully complete the game, then load your cleared saved game file. You'll resume from the Palace of Creation save sphere, but with all of the EXP and Fol you earned in the game's final battles. The two sealed doors on the east and west sides of the Palace of Creation's Audience Chamber are now open. The east will take you back to the Calnus. To the west, you'll find the powerful Undying Dragon. Defeat the Undying Dragon to get the Darkness Ring. Once you have the Darkness Ring, return to the Colosseum in Tatroi on Planet Roak. Go to the end of the left hallway on the first floor. Use the Darkness Ring on the glyph seal that's blocking your access to the dungeon. Now you have access to the Cave Of The Seven Stars bonus dungeon. Defeat Gabriel Celeste at the end of this dungeon to earn your trophy. You can have a rematch with him as many time as you like after defeating him, but he'll get stronger every time you face him.

Recommended levels 160+

Ethereal Executioner
Defeat the Ethereal Queen.

Defeat Gabriel Celeste at the end of the Cave Of The Seven Stars bonus dungeon. Then return to Planet En II and take the elevator down to the Old Road to Sanctuary. Speak to Barago to go to the entrance of a new bonus dungeon. In the Wandering Dungeon, you will not know the enemies that will appear in battles, and the floors are generated randomly. There are no save or restoration spots. Defeat the Ethereal Queen on Floor 20 to earn your trophy. You can continue playing the dungeon endlessly after defeating her, but she'll get stronger every time you face her.

Battle Information

This section describes how to use several actions in battle. The purpose of this section is to explain how certain actions work(especially for newcomers) and so that i don't have to continually explain how to perform them under every boss trophy unnecessarily dragging the descriptions out. To start off with only Blindsides, Rush Combos & Special Arts will be listed here, but it may be expanded in the future.

Blindsides
Blindsiding can be a confusing subject for newcomers to the game with many struggling to grasp the concept behind it. I, myself, did not pull off a single blindside until facing Armaros Manifest because i didn't really 'get it'. I guess delving further into the Battle Simulator beforehand would have been smart. The Battle Simulator is located on the south end of top floor on the Calnus. If you are having trouble pulling off blindsides on real enemies, return to the Battle Simulator to practice.

When an enemy locks onto you, you will be surrounded by either a yellow or red reticule. If the reticule is red, your blindside will be countered unless you have a high Beat:S. If the reticule is yellow and you successfully pull off the next part, your blindside is guaranteed to succeed. To start the blindside, hold to charge it while targeted. Move the left or right to slip behind the enemy and attack from behind. After the blindside is successful, the blindsided enemy while have a question mark hovering over their head for a short while. For the duration of this every hit you land on the enemy will be a critical hit. If you held down for too long you will instead be fatigued and unable to move for a few seconds. If you were not targeted or too far from the enemy, you will jump instead.

Killing an enemy with a critical hit will earn you a blue tile on the bonus board granting an extra 10% XP after you complete battles. Filling the board up solely with blue tiles will give you a 140% XP bonus. When an enemy attacks you, you have a chance of losing some bonus board tiles. This happens more regularly when a stronger opponent attacks you while in rush mode.

Rush Combo
A rush combo is initiated by pressing immediately followed by or . If any of your other active party members are alive, this will instead initiate a double rush combo. Only one other party member can join you in a double rush combo. This is determined by whoever is closest to you. After initiating a rush combo you will be taken to a new screen and will be alone with the enemy. Several button prompts will appear on the screen which you will need to pull off for the rush combo to be successful. If you miss or press the wrong button the combo will end and you will return to the battle screen. Each character has a unique combo with button prompts that differ depending on whether or was pressed.

The Chain Combo manual allows more Special Arts to be applied to or up to a maximum of three. The same Special Arts can be hot-keyed to one of the three buttons. Maxing out the Chain Combo skill and applying the maximum number of Special Arts on two characters will allow you to perform a Perfect Rush Combo in battle. After completing the first button prompt set, a new screen will appear where you can select either or to perform the designated skill. The same screen and button prompts will appear several more times after completing the previous section successfully. If you successfully complete every wave of button prompts, you will pull off a Perfect Rush Combo dealing massive damage. Some bosses, Satanail in particular, take enormous amounts of damage from Perfect Rush Combos.

The Chain Combo skill manual can be found in several locations:

Treasure Chests: Lemuris(Van Elm Region), Cardianon Mothership

Quests: A Cherished Keepsake(Woodley Village, Lemuris)

Skill Shops: N/A

Special Arts/Skills
Special Arts are skills that are acquired by either leveling up or reading a skill manual. To apply a Special Art via the Skill Manual, press to access the menu and select the skill manual and the character you wish to learn it. Some skills are restricted to certain characters. Some skills such as Treasure Sense will always be active whereas others such as HP Boost must be applied as a battle skill before it has any effect.

To apply a battle skill, access the battle config via the main menu and select the character that has learnt the skill. Select one of the two options under the battle skills title and select any available skill to activate it. The skill is now activated but it still needs to be leveled for the skill to have a substantial impact on the battle. To do so, return to the skill menu, select skill boost and then the desired character. Scroll down to battle skills and press on the chosen skill to level it up. If you lack the individual SP to level up a skill, party SP can be used by pressing

Great Guide so far.

And, you should point out, that the Ending sequence (wich can't be skipped) takes close to 2hrs when you did all Private Actions for all Endings at once.

Good guide!

The rabbit racing trophies are pretty easy to describe, but boring to get. Make sure you've completely maxed out your rabbits stats (one pie is a lot more expensive to make than the others), and you should win 90-100% of the time (I've raced 17 times and won 17 times, so it's not that hard - it just takes a long time).

Finally, building on nimrod's point, it's worth mentioning that Faize's and Crowe's endings happen AFTER all of the credits, and not with the other ending sequences. I almost had a heart attack when they didn't initially pop.
