ryandavison
I've seen that all people with the PS3 version of the game is having trouble using the XBox 360 version guide, I won't lie, I too had trouble, I almost had to go through the entire game just to find 1 chest. So If you don't want any trouble like that, follow the link below to a PS3 version Trophy Guide. I find it very helpful even though I haven't platinumed the game yet. *removed* Edited December 7, 2010 by ShadowAFC
nimrod
Nice. Already noticed that some of the chests are different (and even more important, contain different loot and require different rings to open) quite a few times.

Link: Star Ocean: The Last Hope (International) Trophy Guide That guide is pretty old and it didn't describe all trophies to 100%. When I played the the game I used the 360 guide and I got all endings and all chests without problems
nimrod
Well, some errors i encountered so far with the xbox guide: Treasure Chest Guide - Xbox360Achievements.org Planet Roak: The Purgatorium 23: Skill Manual "Savage Sparrows" x1 <- has Skill Manual "Sun Flare" inside instead Planet Aeos: Miga Insect Warren 11: Skill Manual "Dragon Roar" x1 <- needs Water Ring, not Darkness Ring Those are the 2 i still got my head from yesterday (at work right now). I already pointed some differences in the Private Action Guide out in another Thread. Even tho, the Guide above is old, it has at least the 2 difference i posted above listed correct. And ... Can't have to many guides, can't you?

Can't have to many guides, can't you? I used this guide GameFAQs: Star Ocean: The Last Hope International (PS3) FAQ/Walkthrough by QueenAdreena Just check the missable chest places (Like alternate earth, Triom, Cardianon, etc,) and be sure to look everywhere so U have opened every chest on these missable places. nimrod
Well ... First: What does you're answer has to do with what i wrote? Second: In the Guide you mention are the 2 errors too. =============================================================================== Aeos (WPG05) =============================================================================== -------------------------------- +Items: + +------------------------------+ o Skill Manual "Dragon Roar"* + -------------------------------- *Requires Darkness Ring Walk into the remains of the Exploration Base and take the south exit. Head through the Undersea Tunnel and make your way to the Miga Insect Warren. Go to the bottom floor of the dungeon (B4) and check the map; you should see two exclamation points. Take the east path, between the two exclamation points and you will reach a chest surrounded by light. Use the Darkness Ring on the chest to get [skill Manual "Dragon Roar"]. Go all the way back to the teleporter and go to Roak. This part is the same as: Planet Aeos: Miga Insect Warren 11: Skill Manual "Dragon Roar" x1 <- needs Water Ring, not Darkness Ring And is wrong. As you need the Ring of Water in the PS3 Version. I know that, because i'm currently standing in front of it. =============================================================================== Roak (WPG06) =============================================================================== ----------------------------------- +Collections: + +---------------------------------+ o Weapon Data 083: Burning Claws + ----------------------------------- ----------------------------------- ------------------------ +Items: + +Quests: + +---------------------------------+ +----------------------+ o Burning Claws* + o The Fifth Errand + o Silent Talisman + ------------------------ o Recipe Memo 01 + o Skill Manual "Savage Sparrows"* + ----------------------------------- *Requires Darkness Ring Enter the Astral Caves from the Tatroi side. Head north, and then go down the stairs to the next screen. If you follow the path to the very south, you will reach a spider web area. Behind the spider webs is a chest sealed with holy light; use the Darkness Ring on it to get [burning Claws] and its Weapon Data. Return to Tatroi and go see Jasmine. Give her the Intensified Gunpowders, then check the opened chest to get a [silent Talisman]. Speak to her again to get the quest [The Fifth Errand]. If you do not have enough Giant Bird Feathers, you can get them from the Axe Beak enemies, which spawn in the area to the northeast of Tatroi. You will get [Recipe Memo 01] after bringing the feathers to Jasmine. We'll be coming back to Tatroi shortly, but for now, go to the Purgatorium. You can take the teleporter to Tropp to cut back on the walking time. Go down to the B4 Floor, which consists of only one room and is where you fought the boss. Use the Darkness Ring on the chest in the northwest corner of the room for [skill Manual "Savage Sparrows]. Return to Tatroi when you're finished. Enter the colosseum and enter the circular hallway. Go to the end of the west section and use the Darkness Ring to break the seal on the door. Head down the stairs to reach the first bonus dungeon. This part is the same as: Planet Roak: The Purgatorium 23: Skill Manual "Savage Sparrows" x1 <- has Skill Manual "Sun Flare" inside instead And again, i know that its wrong there, because i just opened it. Anyway, both of those points don't really matter, because my point 1 still stand. What does you'r post even have to do with mine. On top of that, even tho the Guide you post (wich i use parts of too from time to time) says of himself it is a PS3 Guide ... Is based around a 3 Disc Version ... (aka XBox Version)

(aka XBox Version) I know that it's not the same rings to open a few chests in the ps3 version. But the chests location is the same as well. Dunno why it says its a ps3 guide, its a 360 guide. And I just told that, (don't take it personally) if U or other folllow that guide as I did and check everywhere on the missable chest places U can't miss it:) And nope, can't have too many guides Edited December 7, 2010 by MasterTonberry
ShadowAFC
I appreciate what you're trying to do, but linking to that site would fall under advertising, which unfortunately is not allowed here. It would seem that guide is a little inaccurate as well.
