Introduction

Stacking is a fun puzzle filled game where all the characters aren't humans, but Russian Nesting Dolls instead. This game chronicles the life of the youngest child of a poor chimney sweep family known as the Blackmores. One day the little boy, Charlie, and his family discover that thier father has gone missing and Charlie's brothers and sisters are being hauled off to work off the debt that his father owed. Charlie sets off to free his family from thier captors. Charlie's go-to move is "stacking" which allows him to stack inside of another doll one size larger than him and control it. Whatever that doll could do, Charlie now can do. He uses his stacking skill and the abilities of other dolls to solve unique puzzles and make is way closer to finding his family and stopping child labor throughout the world. Now, lets step on in to Charlie's shoes and get started on our path to 100%.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Play Through The Game

The first step is to simply play through the game. There is free roam of all of the worlds upon completing the game, so don't feel rushed to get all of the collectibles before you move on. By simply progressing through the game you will undoubtedly unlock most of the unique dolls, several of the Hi-Jinks, and several of the puzzle solutions. My one piece of advice here, is that anything you come across while playing though the game, whether it is a quick Hi-Jink, or a unique doll, you may as well do it/collect it while you are there to make your clean-up faster. Basically, don't go out of your way to doing everything during this step, but if you come across something simple, you may as well do it.

By the end of this step, you will have earned (at the very least):

Strike Breaker

Seasoned Swashbuckler

Airship Adventurer

Well Trained Traveler

Blackmore Stack

Step 2: Cleanup

Now your goal is to go back and get anything you missed such as puzzle solutions, Hi-Jinks, and unique dolls. This will likely be the longest part of your trip to 100% since there is quite a bit to do in this game. See the trophy guide below for all solutions to puzzles, Hi-Jink requirements, and unique dolls. Once you have finished your cleanup, you should have 100%. Congrats!

Trophy Guide:

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/827/01.jpg Strike Breaker (B)

Complete Train Strike Adventure.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock upon taking the 3 train workers out of the lounge and to back to the trains. If you are having any trouble passing this challenge, please see "Solution Sleuth".

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/827/02.jpg Doll Hobbyist (B)

Collect all unique dolls in the Royal Train Station.

Unique dolls are one of a kind dolls with special abilities. You can tell them apart from regular dolls by the fact that they have a slight shine to them. Alternatively you can use one of the other dolls with abilities such as Eagle Eye or Standout Stare, which will highlight any unique dolls in blue. In order to "collect" a unique doll you must simply stack with it. Since this game allows you to free roam the levels after completing them, I suggest finding these after completing the level, since this will likely cut down on about a third of these unique dolls.

The unique dolls in the Royal Train Station are:

  • Meriwether Malodor----Wanders the main rooms. Wears a white suit. Farts frequently.
  • Hans Allendorf----Standing just outside the bathrooms in the main area.
  • Luydmila Allendorf----Found in the hallways connecting the train station section to the main room.
  • Ursula Allendorf----Walking around near information booth and lounge in the main room.
  • Guard Perry----Guarding the door to the lounge. Stackable after finishing all 3 challenge solutions, or distracted.
  • Clerk-of-the-Works Jasper----Standing near the fan outside of the lounge.
  • The Widow Chastity----Wanders outside of the lounge.
  • Solicitor Barnabas----Typically wandering the large main room. Wears a top hat, smokes a pipe.
  • Ticketeer Frederick----Story Related Doll
  • Conductor Orville----Story Related Doll
  • Engineer Ulysses----Story Related Doll
  • Strike Leader Chesley----Near ticket lines. Must complete Royal Train Station first.
  • Lounge Host Demoreville----Inside the lounge. Can only be stacked with after completing all 3 puzzle solutions.
  • Drummer Percy----When entering the main room (with bathrooms), you should see a door upstairs on the left titled Coal Room. He is in there.
  • Key Master Dawson----Story Related Doll
  • Judge Meantal----Story Related Doll
  • Engineer Switch----Standing near the train to Triple Decker Train. Only stackable after the Steam Ship.
  • Engineer Cross----Standing near the train to the Zeppelin

Find all solutions to all of the Royal Train Station challenges.

There are 3 challenges in the Royal Train Stations, with one available from the beginning, and 2 more after progressing further into the game. The puzzles and solutions are as follows:

Empty the Lounge (Available Immediately):

[spoiler=df]

Solution 1: Use the mechanic near the outside of the club to open up the fan vent. Walk in through the vent and talk to the lounge host.

Solution 2: Stack into the Widow Chastity, who should be waltzing around the area outside. Walk over to the door gaurd and Seduce him. While he is enticed, unstack from the Widow and stack into him. Now take him to the lounge door and open it. Then enter the lounge through the wide open door and talk to the host.

Solution 3: This is perhaps the most elegant of the 3 solutions. Stack into Meriwether Malodor (The bald guy in white running around farting everywhere). One you are stacked into him, take him to the fan and let loose a righteous gas of justice through the vents and gas everyone out of the lounge.

Sort the Lines (Available after Gilded Steamship)

[spoiler=ht]

Solution 1: Simply stack into each of the dolls and arrange them into the correct lines. 3rd (middle) line for the biggest 2 dolls, 2nd and 4th lines for the medium sized dolls, and 1st and 5th lines for the small dolls.

Solution 2: Stack into Meriwether (Farting guy) and use Flatulate to get everyone out of the way. Now stack into the Strike Leader and use assemble to call everyone back. They should arrange themselves now.

Solution 3: Stack into one of the Uppercut dolls and use the Proper Uppercut ability on them all. This will make them move into the correct spots.

Wind the Clock (Available after the Zeppelin)

[spoiler=kj]

Solution 1: Stack into the pelican and use it to fly up to its nest. Then unstack and use the little lever nearby.

Solution 2: Crawl through the little hole in the wall near the closed door. Once inside use the Door Override controls to open the door. Then stack into one of the "Firm Handshack" gentlemen and walk through the door to the hand shaped level on the wall. Give it a good firm handshake.

Solution 3: Stack into one of the balloon boys, then into Engineer Cross. Walk over to the fans, near the hole in the wall you used earlier. Use blow lid, then unstack back to the balloon boy and use fly to station. This should lift you up near another set of controls. Unstack again and use them.

Solution 4: Talk to the stewards with the moving cardboard cutout and get them to move onto the yellow line. Now catch up to the bike and stack into the dolls peddling. Use "Pedal Bike" to make it go very fast and crash into the 2 stewards with the cardboard cutout.

Sabotage the Exhibit:

[spoiler=n]

Solution 1: Move the little dolls surrounding the mummy out of the way, then stack into the mummy. Once in the mummy, draw attention to yourself so you can stack into another person then leave the museum, essentially "stealing" the mummy.

Solution 3: Stack into Ronaldo and use his illusion to "hide" the large sarcophagus on the right wall near the stone slab.

Solution 4: Stack into the Sarcophagus and draw someone to you. Stack into them and leave, essentially stealing the sarcophagus.

Stop the Caviar Service:

[spoiler=b]

Solution 1: Stack into the gruel chef and enter caviar room. Pour the gruel into the caviar machine.

Solution 2: Stack into the gruel chef. Climb up the smal stair near the serving bar that has the cavier on a sort of watery conveyor belt. Poor the gruel into the water to thicken it up and stop the cavier from moving.

Solution 3: Stack into a big doll and enter the caviar room through the back door on the deck near the shark's teeth. Once the door is open and you have access to the caviar room, push the caviar machine out the door and dump it all overboard.

Solution 4: Stack into the Pied Piper and find the rats on the bottom floor. Use flute to lure them into the cavier room via the back door near the shark teeth. The food will become tainted and the place will close.

Solution 5: Stack into Buffet Host Yves. Summon the caviar chef from the podium. Once the cavier chef comes out, stack into him and head back into thew caviar room. Walk up to the caviar machine and dump it out.

Muddle the Maps:

Solution 3: Stack into a white glove slap gentleman and walk on up to the map room. Slap the map maker.

Solution 4: Stack into any little kid doll. Take the kid to the "Artistic Makeover" shop on the second floor and get a makeover. This will give you a crayon hat. Now run back up to the map room and color all over the maps.

Get the Gits a Gig (Only available after finishing the level)

[spoiler=h]

Solution 1: Stack into one of the brothers in the band, then stack into one of the well dressed dolls, such as the man with the top hat. Now the doorman should let you in. Once inside, unstack back to the musician and run up on stage. The other brother will follow you.

Solution 2: Stack into one of the brothers in the band and take him up to Artistic Makeover on the second floor. Give him a makeover, then stack into the other brother and give him a makeover aswell. Now head back to the doorman and he will let you in. Step up on stage to finish.

Solution 3: Talk to the pirate. He tells you to bring Polly a cracker. Stack into Hans Allendorf and take him to the pirate. Toss cookies near the pirate and his parrot will be satified. Now you must stack into one of the brother in the band, then into the pirate. Take the pirate to the doorman and use "ARR". The doorman will open the door and you can enter. Unstack back down to the brother and step on stage.

Find all solutions to all Zeppelin of Consequence challenges.

This level has 5 challenges. The solutions to these are:

Get Rid of the Gas:

[spoiler=btgdsvfa]

Solution 1: Stack into Felicity Fowler. Enter the room with all of the gas and "pass potpourri". This will clear up the gas.

Solution 2: Stack into Wilhelmina. Take her to the room with all of the gas and make her sing. When she inhales she will suck up all of the gas.

Solution 3: Crawl into the small hole near the fan service door. Once inside, stack into the mechanics in there and open the door. Now go find a balloon boy in the main room and stack into him. Bring him back to the fan service area and use the air coming from the vent to fly you up to the fan controls, where you can shut off the fan and get rid of all the gas.

Solution 4: Stack into a purse smack lady, then stack into the hazard suit. Use the hazard suit to walk through the gas to the other side, then unstack once so that you are the purse smack lady again. Use purse smack on the glass near the big red button to break the glass and allow use of the button. Push the button to shut off the fans and stop the gas.

Break Out of the Brig:

[spoiler=tbfdhg]

Solution 1: Stack into the fire chief and put out the small fire covering a hole on wall. Once the fire is out, quickly unstack down to Charlie and crawl through the hole before the fire starts again.

Solution 2: Stack into the big steward and walk into the dominos to knock them down. This will make the bird fly down to your level. Stack into the bird and fly up to its nest, then unstack and leave through the hole in the wall.

Solution 3: Stack into to big steward and push the skateboard near the door into the center of the room. Now unstack all the way back to Charlie and use the horn that says "sound horn for gaurds" above it to call the guard in. He will trip on the skateboard and you can all leave through the front door.

Stop That Car:

[spoiler=bgfbgf]

Solution 1: Stack into a flash photograhper and take a picture of the monkey driving as he passes you to make him go berserk and crash.

Solution 2: Use the machine near the entrance to the room to drop a few banana's onto a plate. Stewards will come and pick them up. Stack into the steward with banana's and throw one at the monkey when it drives past you.

Solution 3: Stack into a bugle boy, then into a mechanic. Walk up the stairs to where the announcer is sitting. Use the mechanic to break the machine by the announcer to lure him away. Unstack down to the bugle boy and blow the bugle into the microphones.

Solution 4: As Charlie, climb up the small set of stairs next to the track near the banana statues. As one of the racing dogs runs past, stack into it. Press :cross: to catch up to the car. Stack into each animal on the car until you are inside the monkey driving. Then simply apply the brakes using :cross:.

Solution 5: Stack into the silent film director Cecil Dumheal. Walk him up to the flag bearer near the announcer above the track. Talk to him and then use the "action" command. The flag bearer will wave the flag and the car will stop.

Open the Gate:

[spoiler=hngbtsvfd]

Solution 1: Stack into one of the "Northern Kiss" dolls and use him to headbutt the bell, which will initiate a fight with Cromwell the Terrible. Once he has given you a wedgie, you can stack into him and use his Royal Wedgie move to pry open the gate.

Solution 2: Stack into a small mechanic and use the console near the door to drop down a hand shaped lever. Now stack into a Firm Handshake doll and take it back to the lever. Use Firm Handshake on the lever to open the gate.

Solution 3: Stack into a small mechanic, the walk upstairs through the door labeled "Crew Quarters" and stack into Portia Peacock. Use her ability to wave the peacock over to you. Unstack from Portia and stack into the peacock. Use it to fly back to the nest. Now unstack out of the peacock and use the small mechanic on the console near the gate to open it.

Get Mr. Ruffles! (Only available after finishing the level):

[spoiler=nhtbds]

Solution 1: Talk to the bullies to initite a small game where you must keep track of the one holding the bear while they spin around in circles and try to mix eachother up. Once they have stopped spinning, and if you payed close enough attention and kept track of the one with the doll, talk to that one and he will give the doll back.

Solution 2: Stack into the banana carrying steward near the bullies. Talk to them to initiate the spinning, but once the stop, throw banana's at them. This will make them open up and you can see what they have inside of them. When the open, watch to see which one is holding the bear, then talk to him.

Solution 3: Stack into either Ambassador Osman or Ambassador Log. When you see which bully has the teddy bear, mark him with "Official Seal" or "Pen is Mightier". This now they will spin around and try to confuse you, but since the bully with the bear is marked, you don't need to keep track. Once they stop spinning around, talk to the marked bully.

Complete the Final Challenge.

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=rhtedsvfg]This will be unlocked after beating the Baron in the final battle. There are a few parts to this challenge. First of all, you must knock him down off of various platforms using different dolls and abilites you have used throughout the game. The game will give you tips as to what you should use and when. You must hit him 6 times to end this sequence. After that you will be in a battle with the Baron which is essentially a fancy version of "Rock, Paper, Scisors". If he is stacked in a Scisor doll, you stack in a Rock doll. If he is stacked in a Rock doll, you stack in a Paper doll. If he is stacked in a Paper doll, you stack in a Scisor doll.

You must hit him with each type of doll to finish the challenge and end the game. An ending scene should now play and your trophy should unlock.

Thanks a lot, Timbo.

The game isn't difficult at all, but the guide will definitely come in handy on Hi-Jinks and some challenges.

Yeah it was pretty easy. Some of the Hi-Jinks were a pain to figure out though haha

Can you put Blackmore Stack in a spoiler tag?

Ooopsie I coulda swore I did lol Thanks for the reminder :)

Thx for the guide. Still have problem with finding 4th nest for the bird on the second level =)

Idea of the game is interesting. But, to my taste, i think it's pretty boring. Especially hate this stupid cut-scenes. Hope it will get more interesting later on. Got it yesterday and managed to get 25% completion without any problems.

There is good hint-system in the game so some of the challenges can be completed straight on.

The 4th brids nest is inside the cavier buffet on the pirate ship centerpiece. Im assuming that was the one you were missing. I probably should make note of that.
