In recent years we've played many military shooters where we explored a sandy locals, but we've never played one like this. An epic sandstorm has wiped Dubai clean off the map. Six months later, signs of life have emerged. A Delta Recon Team is sent to investigate.

You play as Captain Martin Walker. Together with your Delta Force Bravo Team you embark on a search for survivors in a city buried by sand in this tactical third-person shooter. Expecting a routine operation and an easy evac, you instead find yourselves caught in a war ignited by an out-of-control madman.

You must now make difficult decisions as you try to survive a frantic combat zone where out-of-nowhere sandstorms can shift the battlefield in an instant. You're going to have to improvise, shoot straight, and make good use of your squad commands if you ever want to get home alive.

http://i.imgur.com/VVtzpXy.png

Step 1:

Play through the campaign on "Suicide Mission" difficulty. This is the second hardest difficulty setting but finishing the game on this setting is required to unlock "FUBAR" difficulty. Suicide difficulty is not difficult as the name suggest. If you play smart, take cover, and don’t go all “Rambo” you should be able to knock out this playthrough in about 6 hours. Also, the fact that this is a squad based shooter means you can order your squad mates to do some of the heavy lifting if you're low on health and/or ammo.

During this playthrough enjoy the game and make whatever decisions you like. You will have another playthrough and there is also chapter select so don't worry about the decision based trophies.

As you play through the game try to get as many kills with each weapon type as you can but don’t dwell on the weapon kill trophies. You will have more than enough opportunities to get those trophies.

Optionally, you can go for the collectibles trophies in this playthrough or save it for your FUBAR run. Even though all stats and collectables carry over between playthroughs I suggest you get all the collectibles during this playthrough so you can focus on killing and surviving during your FUBAR playthrough. During this step you should unlock the following trophies:

  • (B)They Live
  • (B)Treacherous Ground
  • (B)The Lost Battalion
  • (B)Desert Storm
  • (B)The Horror
  • (B)Three Kings
  • (B)The Great Escape
  • (B)A Bridge Too Far
  • (B)Boot
  • (S)We Were Soldiers
  • (G)The Devil's Disciple
  • (B)Spotter
  • (S)Recon
  • (G)Intel Operative
  • (B)Marksman - Rifle
  • (B)Marksman - Small Arms
  • (B)Marksman - Shotgun
  • (B)Marksman - Sniper
  • (B)Marksman - Heavy Arms
  • (B)Marksman - Grenade
  • (B)Aim High
  • (B)Applied Force
  • (B)In Your Face
  • (B)Blind Luck
  • (B)Good Training
  • (B)Situational Awareness
  • (B)Battle Management
  • (B)Close Combat Carnage
  • (B)Airspace Control
  • (B)Damn Close
  • (B)Army of One
  • (B)Preventive Diplomacy
  • (B)The Human Factor
  • (B)Deer Hunter

You should also unlock half of these decision based trophies:

  • (B)A Man of Action or
  • (B)A Man of Patience

  • (B)Damned if You Do or
  • (B)Damned if You Don't

  • (B)Friendly Fire or
  • (B)Unfriendly Fire

  • (B)A Line, Crossed or
  • (B)A Line, Held

  • (B)A Farewell To Arms or
  • (B)Too Late The Hero

  • (S)The Road Back or
  • (S)The Road To Glory

Step 2:

Playthrough the campaign again on the FUBAR difficulty setting, During this playthrough be sure to make the opposite decisions of the ones you made during your first playthrough. FUBAR is clearly more difficult than the "Suicide Mission" difficulty. You will die quicker and the enemies are stronger, more aggressive and deadly accurate. By far the most common question asked is how FUBAR difficulty stacks up against this generations other popular shooter's hardest difficulties.

  • FUBAR is harder than Modern Warfare 2, 3 and Black Ops' Veteran difficulties. A general consensus has also concluded that FUBAR is more difficult than all 3 Uncharted games on Crushing.
  • FUBAR is not as hard as Killzone 2's Elite or COD: World at World's Veteran difficulties (specifically the late Russian missions).
  • FUBAR is considerably harder than Battlefield 3's Hard & Homefront's Guerrilla difficulties.
  • FUBAR is on par with Resistance Fall of Man's Superhuman difficulty (i.e. Yes it is difficult but no, not in a cheap way).

  • If I had to choose one game that has a similar difficulty level to Spec Ops' FUBAR difficulty, I would say SOCOM 4 on Elite (but without the burden of having Chung on your fire team always ruining everything by being an idiot).

For assistance with FUBAR difficulty please see the trophy description for (G)MFWIC, you should also check out my FUBAR - Problem Areas Guide Here!

During this step you will unlock:

  • (G)MFWIC

You should also unlock the opposite decision trophies of the ones you unlocked during your first playthrough, these trophies include:

  • (B)A Man of Action or
  • (B)A Man of Patience

  • (B)Damned if You Do or
  • (B)Damned if You Don't

  • (B)Friendly Fire or
  • (B)Unfriendly Fire

  • (B)A Line, Crossed or
  • (B)A Line, Held

  • (B)A Farewell To Arms or
  • (B)Too Late The Hero

  • (S)The Road Back or
  • (S)The Road To Glory

Additionally, you should also unlock any trophies you missed during your first playthrough. These trophies possibly include:

  • (B)Adapt and Overcome and any number of the weapon kill trophies.

Step 3 - Clean Up:

Use this step to clean up any trophies you may have missed via the chapter select option. These trophies more than likely include:

  • (S)Sierra Hotel
  • (B)All You Can Be

See the Guide for more info if you need any more help with them.

Once all steps have been completed, congratulate yourself on your new shiny (P) Trophy.

Complete game on "FUBAR" difficulty.

FUBAR unlocks after finishing the game on "Suicide Mission." Its not easy. Follow these tips to make this playthrough less painful.

For help with the toughest spots on FUBAR difficulty please see my FUBAR - Problem Areas Guide.

General Tips:

  • First and foremost use your squad mates and command ability as much as possible. This saves you important ammo and lowers your risk of you dying.

  • Take your time. This game does not have infinite enemy spawn points. So there is no need to rush to the next checkpoint. So if you find yourself a nice piece of cover then stay there until the enemies push up to you.

  • Don’t think about the game in terms of chapter to chapter. Play the game from checkpoint to checkpoint. Every checkpoint you reach is a victory. Keeping your focus on checkpoints will do wonders for your mental health.

  • Execute enemies for extra ammo. Sometimes when you shoot an enemy he doesn't die, he just lays there dying. If it is safe to do so then get close to him and execute him by pressing :circle:. You will be rewarded with ammo pick-ups for both your carried weapons and sometimes grenades.

  • Remember not all cover is good cover. Some times that barrier you’re camping behind can be destroyed. And enemies often flank your position.

  • To piggyback off the last point, always use cover. You will die in 2-4 shots; you don’t want to be out in the open.

  • When one (or both) of your squad mates goes down make sure you clear the area, and whomever downed him before you pick him up or send the other team member in. You have a decent amount of time to get to your fallen comrade, so take your time before you try for the revive. One downed soldier can quickly turn into three and a game over screen.

  • Use the Uncharted cover method. For those of you unfamiliar with the Uncharted method its basically when enemies are around a corner or high wall you should not go into cover mode. Just stand close to the corner/obstacle and slowly peak outside while aiming down the sights. This will enable you to shoot the enemy without them being able to hit you. That corner/high obstacle will act as a protective barrier.

  • Specific areas can be made much easier and conflicts can even be avoided entirely by using stealth. If you have a stealth weapon always chose the stealthy approach.

  • I know this sounds obvious but aim for the head. Quick kills are critical.

  • On that same point, make sure your aim is true. This is not Call of Duty where as long as you put your reticule in the same area code of an enemy your sights would “snap” to the enemy. Note: You can choose to turn on "aim snap-on" and it will not negate this trophy.

  • Keep an eye on your ammo situation. Ammo in Dubai is scarce. There will be many instances when you won’t be able carry your favorite weapon because you won’t have ammo for it. Always make sure you have at least one full weapon before you move on to the next checkpoint, this may not be a preferred weapon.

  • Use your grenades. These things are life savers. Even a well placed stun grenade can be the difference in you beating a certain checkpoint.

  • Move slowly. Sometimes when you think you have cleared an area, there is a cowardly enemy soldier hiding and waiting for a quick kill.

  • Properly prioritize your threats; if there is a CQC expert in the area, he is the main threat. This also goes for the aggressive shotgun guys, snipers, and of course Heavies.

  • Get rid of your pistols as soon as you can. They’re worthless.

Weapon Tips:

As I mentioned above you won’t always have a chance to wield your favorite weapons. But if you have a chance, always hold on to these weapons.

  • AA-12 - Best gun in the game, hands down.
  • M32 MGL Grenade launcher
  • M4A1 - your default weapon, it’s dependable.
  • 417 assault rifle - Powerful single shot assault rifle, with a sniper scope.
  • SCAR-H - Powerful and has an attached grenade launcher which is awesome against Heavies.
  • P90 - This gun has good stopping power, a high rate of fire, and shreds through armor. But it's not great at a distance.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/D56.jpgMarksman - Rifle (B)

Kill 350 enemies with any rifle. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill 350 enemies with any rifle (assault rifle) in the game. Spec Ops’ assault rifles are listed below:

  • M4A1 Carbine
  • FAMAS F1
  • SCAR-H w/launcher
  • AK-47

Any combinations of kills with any of the above listed weapons count towards the trophy. You do not have to get 350 kills with any single assault rifle. These weapons are frequently placed throughout the game so you should have no problem finding one. This trophy should come naturally during your quest for the platinum trophy, as you will be playing through the campaign 2+ times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/858.jpgMarksman - Small Arms (B)

Kill 100 enemies with any pistol or SMG. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill 100 enemies with any of the pistols or SMGs in the game. Spec Ops’ pistols and SMGs are listed below:

Pistols:

  • M9
  • Desert Eagle

Submachine guns:

  • UMP45
  • Micro Uzi
  • P90

Any combinations of kills with any of the above listed weapons count towards the trophy. You do not have to get 100 kills with any single pistol or SMG. These weapons are frequently placed throughout the game so you should have no problem finding one. This trophy should come naturally during your quest for the platinum trophy, as you will be playing through the campaign 2+ times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/F3F.jpgMarksman - Shotgun (B)

Kill 75 enemies with any shotgun. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill 75 enemies with any shotgun during the campaign. Spec Ops’ shotguns are listed below:

  • AA-12
  • M1014
  • W1300

Note: Even though the AA-12 is technically a shotgun, it's kills count towards the Heavy Arms Trophy.

Any combinations of kills with any of the above listed weapons count towards the trophy. You do not have to get 75 kills with any single shotgun. These weapons are frequently placed throughout the game so you should have no problem finding one. This trophy should come naturally during your quest for the platinum trophy, as you will be playing through the campaign 2+ times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/DA0.jpgMarksman - Sniper (B)

Kill 50 enemies with any sniper rifle. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill 50 enemies with any of the sniper rifles during the campaign. Spec Ops’ sniper rifles are listed below:

  • M-99
  • Scout Tactical

Any combinations of kills with any of the above listed weapons count towards the trophy. You do not have to get 50 kills with any single sniper rifle. These weapons are frequently placed throughout the game so you should have no problem finding one. This trophy should come naturally during your quest for the platinum trophy, as you will be playing through the campaign 2+ times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/E5D.jpgMarksman - Heavy Arms (B)

Kill 150 enemies with any heavy weapon. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill 150 enemies with any of the heavy weapons in the game. In Spec Ops heavy machine guns and launchers (both grenade & rocket) are considered heavy weapons. These weapons include:

Machine Guns

  • FN M249E2 SAW
  • General Dynamics GAU-17/A
  • M134 Minigun

Launchers

  • M32 MGL Grenade Launcher
  • RPG-7

Note: Even though the AA-12 is technically a shotgun, it's kills count towards the Heavy Arms Trophy.

Any combinations of kills with any of the above listed weapons count towards the trophy. You do not have to get 150 kills with any single machine gun or launcher. These weapons are frequently placed throughout the game so you should have no problem finding one. In addition to those weapons you will get a chance to wield an unlimited grenade launcher during chapter 10 - Part 2. This trophy should come naturally during your quest for the platinum trophy, as you will be playing through the campaign 2+ times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/4AF.jpgMarksman - Grenade (B)

Kill 50 enemies with grenades. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. Grenades are very effective in this game and good strategy dictates they should be used frequently. You should easily unlock this trophy sometime during your two playthroughs. There are only two types of grenades in this game that kill (Frag and Sticky) and they both count towards this trophy. Stun grenades obviously don’t kill, thus don’t count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/ECF.jpgAim High (B)

Kill 250 enemies with headshots. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. As the name of the trophy says, aim high. There should be no problem getting this trophy while just playing through the game on your way to the platinum trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/D52.jpgApplied Force (B)

Hit 10 enemies with your melee attack. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. All you have to do to unlock this trophy is to melee attack 10 enemies. To melee an enemy get close to them and press :circle:. This should come naturally throughout your playthroughs. Note the trophy description, you don’t have to kill an enemy with the melee attack, you only need hit them with it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/9BC.jpgIn Your Face (B)

Kick an enemy by vaulting over a cover. (campaign only)

Vaulting over cover in this game works similarly to how it works in the Uncharted series (and pretty much every other third-person shooter). You can either take cover at a “chest high wall” by pressing :cross:, once you’re in cover and there is an enemy on the other side of your cover point press :circle: to vault the cover and kick the enemy. Or you can approach a chest high cover point and press :circle: to vault the cover and kick an enemy.

There are not many opportunities during campaign to get this trophy. When you do get an opportunity this move isn’t necessarily practical or particularly smart while playing on the higher difficulty settings, unless you feel like dying and restarting the checkpoint.

But one great place to get this trophy is during chapter 11. After a cut scene you will approach a balcony where your squad is being held captive. As you approach the balcony you’ll see some sand bags and an enemy standing with his back to you. Vault these sand bags by pressing :circle: and kick the clueless soldier off the balcony and unlock your trophy.

Or you can use the method FLIPADELPHIIA used in chapter 2.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/A56.jpgBlind Luck (B)

Kill 5 enemies using blind fire. (campaign only)

Self-explanatory and cumulative. Before you can blind fire you must first take cover near any large object or structure by pressing :cross:. Once in cover aim your reticule and fire your weapon at a nearby enemy by pressing :r1:. You cannot aim down the sites by pressing :l1:. Kill five enemies like this and the trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/DF8.jpgGood Training (B)

Sprint into cover 10 times while under fire. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To sprint into cover press and hold :cross: to run towards cover. As you approach the cover point you will automatically dive or slide into cover. Repeat this 10 times over the course of your playthroughs to unlock this trophy. You should get this trophy within the first three chapters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/153.jpgSituational Awareness (B)

Stun an enemy by dumping sand on their head. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy you will need to shoot an interactive environmental object or cause an explosion resulting in a “sand avalanche.” You should have no problem unlocking this trophy as there are many opportunities to dump sand on an enemy’s head. Once they have sand in their “you know what” this trophy will unlock.

One confirmed spot to get this is during Chapter 10. While Riggs is unlocking a door you will need to fight off a group of enemies. The rooms you're in has glass ceiling pains. What you need to do is wait for some of the solders to come in, then shoot the glass ceiling. If timed right you will have stunned at least one of the enemies and unlocked this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/695.jpgAdapt and Overcome (B)

Blow up 10 explosive objects, killing at least one enemy each time. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. This trophy is a tribute to the venerable exploding red barrel. This trophy is pretty self-explanatory, all you need to do is shoot a explosive object like the flammable oxygen tanks, propane tanks, or any other high flammable object. You'll need to do is shoot ten of these flammable objects making sure the resulting explosion kills an enemy. You will find numerous explosive objects throughout the game and should have no problem unlocking this trophy during your two playthroughs.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/7A5.jpgBattle Management (B)

Kill 50 enemies using only the Attack Command. (campaign only)

Spec Ops features SOCOM like squad based commands. Just like in SOCOM you can choose a squad mate and command him to follow specific orders. For this trophy you will need to order your squad mates to kill 50 enemies (cumulatively).

To order a squad mate to kill an enemy, select an enemy by placing your reticule over him, now press and hold down :r2:. Your squad mates will target whomever you were targeting when you released the :r2: button. It’s not guaranteed that your squad mate will get the kill but there is a high likelihood of that happening. This trophy should come naturally throughout your two playthroughs and subsequent clean up. Liberal use of the command squad button is a great strategy for your FUBAR playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/C29.jpgClose Combat Carnage (B)

Kill 4 enemies with a shotgun in 10 seconds or less. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy all you have to do is kill four enemies with any shotgun within 10 seconds. The shotguns in Spec Ops act closer to their real life counterparts (they are most effective in close quarters) than in Max Payne 3 other games where they can be used as sniper rifles.

There are various opportunities to get this trophy during the campaign. But there is a very easy and quick opportunity to get it during chapter 4. About half way into the chapter you will rappel down to a CIA bunker. Just to the left of where you rappel down you find the second Intel on a desk. Directly in front of that desk will be two (2) enemies behind a little nook. Kill them with a shotty then turn around and kill the two (2) other enemies in the room.

Or you can use

PowerPyx's chapter 6 method provided in his video is below

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrQN1ESD2_U]Spec Ops: The Line - Close Combat Carnage Trophy / Achievement Guide- YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/024.jpgAirspace Control (B)

Kill 10 enemies while they use zip lines or are rappelling. (campaign only)

These stats are cumulative. To get this trophy you mush shoot and kill an enemy while they are rappelling or zip lining. I would venture to say that you will see close to 200 enemies zip line or rappel down from various structures. But for the most part it will be counterproductive to focus on these enemies because they are quick moving and you should be focusing on more immediate threats.

I would suggest you grind these kills out in chapter 5 so you won’t have to worry about them moving forward through the game. Towards the end of chapter 5 you will fall down a crevice and fight a large amount of enemies. This is the same area where you are first introduced to the Edged Weapon Expert (See (B)Damn Close for more details). After killing two of those CQC experts and moving into the big room take cover at the pillar directly in front of you right next to the grenades pick up. From this position you can easily kill 4-8 rappelling enemies that will rappel directly in front of and above you. Kill as many of the rappelling enemies as you can and then let yourself die or restart checkpoint and repeat this process until you get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/250.jpgDamn Close (B)

Kill an Edged Weapon Expert while he is up to 5 meters away. (campaign only)

Edged Weapon Experts are kamikaze enemies who sprint at you with melee weapons. Most times when they appear they will get within five meters of you regardless of if you want them to or not. You will fight a ton of these guys throughout your two playthroughs so you should have no problem getting this trophy easily. I’m sure you will get it in chapter 5 when you are first introduced to these CQC experts.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/E4B.jpgArmy of One (B)

Kill 3 enemies with a single grenade. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy you just kill three (3) enemies with a single grenade. Grenades in this game are phenomenal and enemies tend to group up a lot. There are literally countless occasions throughout the game you will get a chance to do this.

Note: If for some reason you think you blew (no pun intended) a perfect opportunity to get this trophy then reload the checkpoint and try again with explosive results (pun intended).

Or you can use

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/BF0.jpgPreventive Diplomacy (B)

Kill an enemy just as they are throwing a grenade. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy you need to shoot an enemy who is about to throw a grenade at you. Your shots must kill him for this trophy to unlock. This trophy is very simple. During one of the many firefights you get into look for an enemy who is about to throw a grenade at you and shoot him. If you shot the enemy while his arm was reared back and obviously before he threw the grenade, then he would have died and dropped the grenade causing an explosion.

Kill an enemy by tagging him with a sticky grenade. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy you need to tag an enemy with a sticky grenade. A sticky grenade is exactly what it sounds like; this must be “Saving Private Ryan” reference (sticky bomb?). To Throw a sticky grenade you must first select it with the either :left: or :right: on the D-pad. Once you have the "center" grenade selected lock onto an enemy by pressing and holding :l2:, release :l2: to throw the grenade. You won’t get a chance to use these sticky grenades until chapter 6, but during that chapter and onwards there are countless amounts of times you’ll get a chance to do this. Once you achieve this “sticky” kill the trophy will pop.

Complete three chapters in a row without being killed or reloading a checkpoint.

Unless you have superior luck and the shooting skills of a God then you more than likely will not get this trophy during your "hard" or "very hard" playthroughs. So, after you have finished your hard mode playthroughs load up the game from the first chapter on "Walk on the Beach" difficulty and carefully make your way through the first three chapters. By now you should understand the game and how to avoid pointless deaths; this trophy should cause you no problems especially on this easiest difficulty setting.

If needed you should combine this step with the below trophy (B)All You Can Be.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/D35.jpgAll You Can Be (B)

Complete any chapter with 60%+ accuracy without dying or reloading a checkpoint.

Unless you are a master marksman this is another trophy probably won’t get during your two playthroughs. Again, after your playthroughs (and with the tons of aiming experience you have gathered thus far) load up the game from the first chapter on "Walk on the Beach" difficulty. Take your time and carefully fire your weapon at the enemies, use semi-automatic weapons when available. Finally make sure you are using your squad commands as much as possible so your teammates are doing most of the shooting and killing. This trophy will pop after the chapter finishes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/613/C27.jpgDeer Hunter (B)

Kill an oryx. (campaign only)

To unlock this trophy all you have to do is upset PETA and for no real reason kill an Oryx. An Oryx is a large Antelope. You’ll have your chance to play Cabela’s Big Game Hunter right at the beginning of Chapter 1. You will come to a section where they want you to rappel down a cliff, but don’t rappel yet, first look to your right and over the edge. You’ll see a peaceful family of Oryx minding their own business; your objective is to murder one of these magnificent creatures. Pick out an innocent Oryx, shoot it and the trophy is yours.

This guide will provide you with tactics and strategies for the toughest areas on FUBAR difficulty. Remember to check the tips section under the trophy description for (G) MFWIC for general tips and weapon suggestions.

Spec Ops tracks what chapters you have completed and what difficulty it was completed on. This means you cannot put the difficulty to FUBAR and chapter select to the last level, finish only that level and expect the trophy to pop. This also means you can play the chapters in any order you'd like but I suggest you start a new game and continue on from there.

Note: This guide was designed for subsequent playthroughs so it does contain minor spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Chapter 3

The very beginning of this chapter can test anyone patience. You need to hold out and defend your position but you have very little cover and the enemies have the high ground and tons of grenades. I found its best to stick the left of the walkway staying behind the two solid cover points (the class cover will not protect you). Shoot out all of the glass ceiling panels and protect the left walk stairway; that is where enemies love to throw grenades from. Focus fire on anyone high up, like on the balconies and chandeliers. Once you hold out long enough, you will reach the checkpoint.

Chapter 6

First Checkpoint:

This chapter starts off by giving you 5 handgun bullets and a good luck pat on the back. Too bad these don’t help you vs. the 20 or so assault weapon wielding bad guys. First, immediately run to the right of where you started and grab the shotgun and grenades. Now run forward and take cover just on the opposite of the two bad guys. Now you should see two enemies in front of you and three more enemies near the hatchback looking car directly in front of you. Now throw a grenade at the tail end of the car. Once it explodes it should kill 3 or 4 enemies near the car and blind the other enemies in front of you. Making them easy targets for you to kill.

Now immediately pick up whatever automatic weapon that is in front of you, back up and look up. You should see two or three enemies running toward you on catwalk. Kill them and quickly run back to your original cover position behind the car (where you started the level). This is your Alamo, defend it with you life. Enemies will come from the catwalk onto the large container on your right. Try to kill them before they jump down to floor level.

Do this while protecting you left flank. Use you last grenade if you see two or more enemies grouped up. Run out for ammo or a new weapon only when it’s absolutely necessary. After you do this for what seems like an eternity, your teammate will finally show up and you will have reached the checkpoint.

Final Checkpoint:

The "running" end of this chapter is pointlessly stupid, just try to stick to the left in the beginning. Once you've made it upstairs then you're pretty much in the clear.

Chapter 7

The final battle of chapter 7 is one of the toughest fire fights you could get into. Luckily for you, you can avoid this battle altogether. All you have to do is NOT stop the interrogation. Just turn left when you get control of your character and follow Adams. Adams will lead you through a short stealth section. He’ll even procure you with a silenced weapon. You’ll only have to kill two enemies during this section and you’re done.

Note: If you're going for the (B) Man of Action trophy during this FUBAR playthrough just forget about it. Follow the above strategy and use chapter select on a lower difficulty to get the above mentioned trophy.

Chapter 10

Garage Area:

You’re going to want to stay in the area you started at but first you must run directly in front of you to pick up the sticky grenades. Once you have the grenades run back to where you started. If one of your teammates goes down don’t try to pick them up. Have your other squad mate pick him up while you provide covering fire. Stay in this area and pick off enemies as you can. You don’t want to go out near the center where your squad mates are because the turret will cut you in half quickly. After you’ve killed enough bad guys a Heavy will come out. Use your two sticky grenades on him and finish him off with an automatic weapon. If the Heavy is pushing up too much, you can easily fall back into the previous area if necessary.

Once the heavy is dead enter the open garage area and stay to the left side of the center area. Use the cars as cover as you move up. Once you move up enough (where the 249 SAW is) press :r2: to command your squad mates to take out the turret. You don’t want to have anything to do with that thing.

Mall Area:

Switch to a M4A1 with a suppressor and use stealth as much as possible. Once you make it to your first checkpoint (after descending down the first set of stairs) you should be fine. Just stay in cover and move up slowly. There are only maybe 5-6 enemies per floor. Once you get to the last checkpoint use the provided sniper rifle to clear out the area in the right side of the trucks. Once you get to the trucks watch your left side, there are 2-3 enemies and a Humvee with a turret on it. Kill the bad guys and either use grenades or squad commands to take out the turret on the Humvee and you’re home free.

Chapter 10 – Part 2

During the convoy there’s only one troublesome spot here. It’s right after the Humvee tries to pass you on the right. Get prepared for this ahead of time. Aim as far right as you can. As soon as you can, blow up the Humvee. Immediately, after you shoot the Humvee aim up and to the right and fire on the helicopter. You won’t be able to destroy it yet but you can kill the gunners who would otherwise kill you. Now take out the second Humvee and finally destroy the helicopter. Now you are in the clear.

Chapter 11

In the room with the disappearing Heavy and the trippy lights the strategy is simple. You should have your M4A1 assault rifle and a M1014 shotgun but if you don’t it shouldn't be a problem. You should also have 2 grenades with you. All of these weapons are proved to you before you zip line down. Before you go into the disco room stay outside and take cover in the door frame. Kill the two enemies from here. Now once you go inside and the lights go all trippy, immediately take cover behind the display case to your left (next to the ammo box).

From there use your two grenades on the Heavy to weaken him. Now as he gets closer to you blind fire your M4A1 at him. The Heavy will eventually get stuck directly in front of you as he tries to walk around the display case to kill you. Once the Heavy is this close to you switch to your shotgun, blind fire and kill him where he stands. Now make sure you don't die on your way to saving your squad and reaching the next checkpoint, fighting in that room again will put you into an epileptic shock.

-Continued

Chapter 13:

Second checkpoint: (While Adams is sitting against the chopper)

You’ll know this area when you see it. There is not much I can say to help you out on this one. There are a few luck factors at play here: Will Adams let guys get behind you? Will you get WaW grenade spammed? Will all the enemies flood one side of the area and overrun you? All these factors come into play but if all goes well then the following strategy may be your best bet at beating it.

First I'll explain your arsenal. Directly to your left will be a 417 assault rifle, and directly right will be a box of frag grenades. To the cover the right has an ammo box behind it. The cover point to the left of where your start has another ammo box and to the left of that ammo box is another box of frag grenades sitting behind a concrete shack.

As soon as you begin this checkpoint take cover and switch out your pistol for the 417. From your current cover point, lean out to the left (don’t pop you head up) shoot the enemies coming from the plane. From this leaning position you can also shoot the guys taking cover in front of you and slightly to the right. Once the left and center enemy cover points are clear. Pop your head up to kill the guys on the right. Repeat this process for the next two waves of enemies. Make sure you save at least one grenade for the upcoming Heavy.

Unfortunately, now the Heavy shows up with two goons. From your starting position or just to the left of it, wait for the Heavy to reach the enemy cover points ahead of you. When he does throw a grenade at him and run to the cement shack on the left. If you didn’t use the grenade box here (good for you) pick up those grenades now. Now you’ll want to kill the two enemies that came with the Heavy. If you don’t kill them first then they will flank you while you’re focusing on the Heavy.

Now it’s just you and the Heavy “mano y mano.” Use the shack as cover and keep circling it. Use your grenades if you got them and shoot at the Heavy while backing up and "cutting the corners" Uncharted style. This shouldn’t be too difficult because Adams will assist you and shoot the Heavy when it gets in Adams field of view.

  • Alternative Method

Another option is to use a more ranged approach. Grab the 417, ammo, and grenades and retreat back to the cover points way behind the downed helicopter. Adams can not die so don't worry about him even through he's crying out for you like a new born baby. From here watch your flanks and pick off the enemies. Once the Heavy comes try to use any explosives you can to weaken him. Hopefully you'll still have enough ammo to take him out.

Note: After you complete the above section you will come to an area where you fight a sniper and about a half dozen enemies. After you've cleared this area go up to the second story of the boat (watch out for two more enemies up here) and pick up the sniper's M-99 rifle. Using this sniper rifle and the SCAR-H assault rifle you will soon come across will make the following (below) area less of a hassle.

As for the yacht part that was easy too. You should get the M-99 sniper from the previous part because it can take out the heavy in two shots. After taking out the initial guys I turned around and used the Scar's grenades to get a bunch of the guys coming over the hill before running to the yacht.

Assaulting and Defending the yacht:

This is the final major battle of Chapter 13. You want to make sure you have a SCAR-H (There’s one sitting against the wall at the checkpoint). On your way out of the huge boat make sure to pick up the grenades and ammo. From those pick-ups run left behind the far cover (it's about about your 10 O'clock) and anticipate the CQC expert who is sprinting at you.

Take him out and now focus on the Heavy. Use you SCAR-H's grenade launcher to make quick work of him. Now carefully make your way on to the yacht. Once you make it to the top you should be fine for the rest of the chapter. Just camp behind that center cover position and take out any enemies running up the stairs at you and Adams. There are grenades and ammo boxes directly to your right if you need them.

Chapter 14

For the first section camp in that little area that start you in. No need to be aggressive the enemies will come to you. You may have to drift out of the area and pick a few entrenched enemies but you don't want to be exposed on that patio for too long. Once you've cleared the waves cautiously move up on the left side. Use grenades and SHAR-H grenades to clear the MG nest and subsequent enemy waves. Caution: Before you go into the double doors scan the inside of the building with :r2:. here will be 3 or 4 enemies hiding in there just waiting to send you back to the start of the level. Cautiously clear out the cowards and move on.

After a brief cutscene you’ll have your back to two MG nest. Keep the RPG but switch to your other weapon. Using whatever rifle you have (hopefully the SCAR) destroy the little red explosive tanks to your 11 O’clock. Hopefully it kills both guys but if not it’s OK. Now focus your attention on the three enemies to the direct left. Throw a sticky grenade on one of them, which should take all of them out, if not repeat the process or try to shoot them but you won’t have much aiming time because of the turrets. Two more baddies come over the wall depose of them. Now look back to that 11 O'clock area again and pick off whoever is left. The SCAR launcher is perfect for this.

Now with that area clear Adams will move up to the left. Cautiously but quick follow him over. Once you catch your breath (health regain) sprint forward and towards the Humvee and make a quick turn into that left alcove where some ammo is hiding. First, pick off any enemies you see from there. Now switch back to the RPG and take out the MG nest at your 12 O’clock (the right side one). Now sprint and take cover behind the Humvee next to Adams. Now Adams will run off (like and idiot). Using grenades and/or the best weapons you have quickly kill the three or four guys outside the right side MG nest, this is where Adams is running to. Once you do, quickly follow Adams towards the objective waypoint but stop at the grenade pick-up in front of some sand bags. Use those grenades to clear the rest of the nest. Now quickly run into the nest for that all important checkpoint.

After taking out a few waves with the turret make sure you go to the room behind you and pick up the M32 MGL grenade launcher. Now move forward slowly just in case there are any stragglers ahead of you. Now you're going to get ambushed by 4-5 enemies. If you turn the corner quick enough you can see them all jump down from the building and you can kill the all with a well placed M32 or SCAR grenade. Once they are dead you’ll hit a checkpoint. Make sure you have your M32 out and ready.

This is essentially a minor boss battle but it will be a joke with the M32. Once your hallucinated Heavy breaks down the door take cover and blow him away with about four M32 grenades. Once he is dead pick up his AA12. Now easily clear the room with the AA12 and remaining M32 rounds. Before you go upstairs make sure you refill your ammo and grenades with the boxes hidden behind the counter. Your last fight is coming up.

Waiting upstairs for you is a Heavy, a turret, and about 6-7 bad guys. Go upstairs and take cover behind the second set of sand bags. Sticking your head out here is basically suicide so I suggest you blind fire your M32 rounds towards the turret nest to take it out first. Now blind fire the rest of your M32 rounds at the Heavy. Also bombard that area with any remaining grenades. Be sure to take advantage of the squad stun Adams offers you. Now clear the rest of the balcony with the AA12. Congratulations you survived the last battle. Now finish off the game and get your (G)MFWIC trophy!

Cheers for the guide dude!

Wouldn't mind some comparisons with FUBAR difficulty to other games difficulty (I hate to say it, but most COD games' Verteran difficulty is a decent benchmark)

Looks like a rental game.

A bit gutted I bought it seeing as I wouldn't be touching the multiplayer anyway.

Oh well.

Looks awesome anyways.

cheers again for the guide

fubar difficulty is just as hard as MW3 veteran, so its really not that hard. Theres no bottle necks and infinite respawns, but you do have to revive your partners when they go down, and 2-3 shots and your dead. Know when to use the attack system and let your partners do a lot of the work

You know what its funny you mention that because I wrote up comparison of all the popular shooters of the gen. It'll come in the next update.

Let me start off by saying great guide and I can't wait to see the finished part of it! But a few mistakes.

"In Your Face" & "Battle Management" are both bronze trophies. You have them listed as silver and gold trophies.

Thanks, it was hard to keep my eyes open during the formatting of the guide. I'm sure there's more mistakes :(

No problem, and if I see anymore, Then I'll point them out either in a PM, or just post here, Whatever you're more comfortable with. But really good guide nonetheless. I MIGHT be writing one of my own, So watch out, and good luck. ;) lol

I didn't play this game.

How is it in comparison to - mmh I don't know - let's say Uncharted games for example ?

I've not played this game yet (not out till friday here) but I would say that MW3 Veteran is easier than Uncharted 3 Crushing

That is my opinion hope that helps you see comparison

I've done Modern Warfare on Veteran, Uncharted on Crushing, Mass Effects on Insanity and FUBAR is the hardest difficulty I've done. I'm about to give up. You have to be so precise and some of the checkpoints are so lengthy the margin of error is basically nonexistent.

At the part where the group of soldiers is with 'Gould'. Probably died 20-25 times in a row at this spot.

just choose to sneak during that part. You can avoid that whole fire fight

Nice guide so far but what's with the large bold letters at the start of every paragraph?

Its just a style thing I do for roadmaps.

Update: I finished adding all the decision trophies & updated the FUBAR comparisons. The last updates needed are FUBAR tips & strategies and to fix formatting and grammar.
