Hoping for Better Trophies

So I'll be picking this up when it's available for free to PS+ members on March 1st, and I'll be making a run to 100% the trophies, but I can't be alone in hoping that a game as interesting and varied as Sonic the Hedgehog has a trophy list that's different from the achievements in the 360 port of this game. For those that don't know, here's the achievement breakdown. Achievements are listed by name, GamerScore reward, and condition to unlock.

Centurion 10GS

Get 100 or more rings

Clear Green 5GS

Clear the Green Hill Zone.

Fast Green 10GS

Beat Green Hill Zone Act 1 in under 35 seconds.

Fast Marble 15GS

Beat Marble Zone Act 1 in under 80 seconds.

Star Light Zone 5GS

Get to the Star Light Zone.

Spring Yard Zone 7GS

Get to the Spring Yard Zone.

Labyrinth Zone 8GS

Get to the Labyrinth Zone.

Chaos Emerald 10GS

Get one Chaos Emerald.

Chaos Master 35GS

Get all the Chaos Emeralds.

Win 25GS

Beat the game.

Fast Win 30GS

Beat the game in under 40 minutes.

Perfect Win 40GS

Beat the game without dying.

This list is disappointing on a couple levels. Most of the achievements can be gotten by beating the game normally, and that's sure not very exciting. I like the speed runs, but those are logical steps in a game that's all about speed. I'll pick up the game regardless, but I hope the trophy list is more varied than the achievement list. I'm kind of surprised there's no "Rescue X animals," which is basically the same as defeating X enemies. Since that requirement wouldn't fit with the speed runs, it would at least require more playtime to be invested.

I guess we'll find out very, very soon, won't we?

I would be shocked if it had a platinum. Crazy Taxi and Sonic's Adventure do not have platinums, so I think it is safe to assume this wont either.

Probably be the same list as the 360 version.

Just a guess:

Centurion (B)

Get 100 or more rings

Clear Green (B)

Clear the Green Hill Zone.

Fast Green (B)

Beat Green Hill Zone Act 1 in under 35 seconds.

Fast Marble (B)

Beat Marble Zone Act 1 in under 80 seconds.

Star Light Zone (B)

Get to the Star Light Zone.

Spring Yard Zone (B)

Get to the Spring Yard Zone.

Labyrinth Zone (B)

Get to the Labyrinth Zone.

Chaos Emerald (B)

Get one Chaos Emerald.

Chaos Master (S)

Get all the Chaos Emeralds.

Win (S)

Beat the game.

Fast Win (G)

Beat the game in under 40 minutes.

Perfect Win (G)

Beat the game without dying.

I've just been reading on the blog and I caught a comment from an official Sony guy that says its the 2007 PS3 game remastered with trophy support. Is that the one they released in shops? So it should have a platinum, right?

It was confirmed quite a while ago that this statement was incorrect. It's the original Sonic the Hedgehog, not the 2007 version. The person who said this corrected themselves the same day.

Well now we have the answer and I am not at all surprised, but I am still disappointed. For bringing such a seminal title over to the PSN for the first time, I was hopeful we might get an expanded/improved trophy list, but alas it was not meant to be. Oh well. At least we still have Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2, and Comix Zone trophies to look forward to.

I remember looking at the achievements a year ago. Beat the game in 40 minutes or without dying. I couldn't even beat StH 2 without dying, let alone under 40 minutes.

And please don't mention that you can save inbetween plays or whatever. I've heard that numerous times already.

well that's what makes the beat the game without dying trophy easy! save before a boss fight or something...
