Tips and tricks you may not know about

Even though i played the original Sega Bass Fishing on the Dreamcast, this game is not that hard to 100%. The hardest thing you have to do is to win tournaments and stages. If you get stuck on a tournament because you just can't catch enough fish to win then try the following:

When the stage starts, press :cross: to select a lure and then press :square: to display a map. You can choose an alternative location to fish the round at. The time doesn't pause while on the map, but it does pause while loading your new location.

If you know you're going to lose a stage you need to win, press :start: while fishing and select Exit. This will take you back to the main menu where you select to continue original mode. When you reload you'll be at the start of the stage you were failing. If you get to the results screen before realising you haven't won, press :ps: and quit to the XMB so the game doesn't save.

Some tournaments require you to catch fish above a certain weight. If a fish grabs the lure and you know the fish is too small then don't press anything. The fish will get off the lure quicker than you could reel it in and re-cast. This works 99% of the time.

When you reel in an empty lure, your character will mess about for a couple of secods getting ready to cast out again. Press :cross: to skip this to cast out quicker or move your boat.

If you want to play as the female character in arcade mode then press :cross: :circle: :triangle: on the start location screen. Press all 3 buttons to select your start location and keep all 3 pressed until you see the female character on the boat.

Finally, you'll know when a 20lb+ fish is close to your lure when you hear the guy say, "There's a big one close by"

All the best
