Puzzler
Overview Estimated trophy difficulty: Trophy Difficulty Rating (2/10 Personal estimate) Offline: 12 (1 , 4 , 7 ) Online: 0 Approximate amount of time to 100%: 8-10 hours Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 + "I love fishing" Number of missable trophies: Two Glitched trophies: None Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats Introduction Having graced many formats over the years, including the Sega Dreamcast, gamers may be familiar with the title Sega Bass Fishing; an arcade style fishing game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. While the game may seem daunting to new players at first, it really isn’t too difficult to get to grips with, it just takes a little practice and some knowledge on which lures are effective in certain situations. Give the game a little time and perseverance, and it won’t be long until you’re enjoying what the game has to offer. For those that may be struggling, I have included some general lure tips at the bottom of this Road Map. Walkthrough Step One - How to Play & Arcade Mode I highly suggest before you start Arcade mode giving the ‘How to Play’ slides a read, these can be located via ‘Help & Options’ at the main menu. They will give you a general idea of Sega Bass Fishing’s control scheme and an overview of the gameplay mechanics. Once done, head to Arcade Mode where you can put what you’ve learned into use. Completion of Arcade Mode will unlock "Arcade Winner" and you will have also earned "A Gift Lure" along the way. Step Two - Original Mode Original Mode consists of four tournaments - each having a trophy for placing first. To avoid a second playthrough you need to place first in each one before progressing to the next, as you can’t go back to a previous tournament without starting a new game. It’s not essential you win each stage of a tournament, just to be the overall winner. However, that being said there are two missable trophies tied to the ‘Professional Tournament’ - in order to unlock these specifically - you must place first in all stages. Unlocking all the tournament related trophies may seem quite a task, but in reality it’s deceptively easy due to the fact you can quit out during stages if you aren’t doing well, or quit out of the game entirely at the results screen, without the game saving your progress. Take advantage of this, progressing through tournaments only when you have done well thus ensuring you the win and ultimately all the trophies. Step Three - "I love fishing" After steps one and two you should have in the region of 200 - 250 fish caught. The last step towards 100% is a grind to the 500 total to unlock the "I love fishing" trophy. How you go about this is up to you, there's the option to play Arcade/Original mode again, but I suggest utilising 'Practice Mode' as you can catch fish at a much faster rate. Lure Tips I want to make clear these are the methods that I personally used and found the most effective, I in no way claim these are the best options available. Half the fun with this game is finding your own methods, your own spots to fish, and your own lure techniques. I found the ‘Pencil Bait’ the most effective lure to use in water temperatures of 60-70 degrees. The bass will be swimming in and around shallow water in these conditions, with this lure sitting on the surface of the water it’s ideal to catch the attention of the bass. The exception to this however, is in rainy weather conditions. Due to the noise the rain will make on the surface, the Pencil Bait will prove to be less effective; switch to the ‘Popper’, it’s effectively the same lure but makes noise on the surface of the water, drowning out the noise the rain would be making. For water temperatures of 71 degrees and over I favored the ‘Suspend Minnow’. This lure drops down into the water, and suspends motionless at a similar kind of level to where the bass will be loitering, twitch the lure to tempt the bass in for a bite. Puzzler
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/01.jpg A Gift Lure Get a new lure in ARCADE MODE. This trophy will be your first and a very simple one to earn, it will unlock after you’ve caught a couple of fish during Arcade Mode. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/02.jpg Unbelievable Size Catch a bass that weighs more than 20 lbs. It’s extremely unlikely you won’t land a 20 lbs bass during your progress towards the "I love fishing" trophy. I always favored fishing at the ‘Lodge’ and ‘Reeds’ areas throughout my entire time playing Sega Bass Fishing, as they always seemed to be the areas that had the biggest and most bass located. If you are making use of my lure tips detailed in the Road Map you will get this eventually. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/03.jpg Arcade Winner Clear ARCADE MODE. To make this trophy as easy as possible first go to ‘Help & Options’ followed by ‘Settings’ located via the main menu. In the ‘Set Up’ section apply the following: Difficulty: Very Easy First Norm: 9 lbs Time: 3’00 sec In Arcade Mode you have to progress through four areas, the last being a secret area where you’re tasked with catching a bass of 10 lbs. If your time runs out during an area and you’ve failed to meet the criteria there’s no need to worry, you can have as many continues as necessary. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/04.jpg Lure Collector Get the 14th and final Lure by placing 1st in all 5 Stages of the Professional Tournament. Missable This is one of the two missable trophies that is earned during the Professional Tournament. You must win all stages of this tournament to obtain the trophy. It is worth noting that the trophy will not unlock until you visit the ‘Tackle Box’, click on your well deserved ‘Sonic Lure’ and the trophy will unlock. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/05.jpg Amateur Winner Win First Place in the Amateur Tournament. Please refer to "Masters Classic Winner". http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/06.jpg Challenge Winner Win First Place in the Challenge Tournament. Please refer to "Masters Classic Winner". http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/07.jpg Professional Winner Win First Place in the Professional Tournament. Please refer to "Masters Classic Winner". http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/08.jpg Masters Classic Winner Win First Place in the Masters Classic Tournament. Each of the four tournaments has a different format, be it varying amounts of stages, restrictions to the weight of bass that can be caught, or the way you score points per stage. Regardless the amount of stages there will always be 3 rounds per stage. Take care to read the rules that will be presented to you at the start of each tournament. To obtain these four trophies you simply have to be placed first overall at the end of each tournament, you do not have to top the table at the end of every stage. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/09.jpg Ranker Killer Catch over 30 Huge basses in ORIGINAL MODE. This should come naturally during your playthrough of Original Mode. I personally unlocked this mid-way through the Professional Tournament, during which you are tasked with specifically catching the bigger bass. You can view the amount of fish you’ve caught and their varying sizes via the ‘Personal Data’ then 'Data’ & 'Diary’ options located in Original Mode’s main menu. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/10.jpg Top Water King Catch over 50 basses in ORIGINAL MODE by using Top Water lures. You will have no trouble unlocking this during your playthrough of Original Mode. Ensure frequent use of the Pencil Bait and Popper as they both count towards the overall total. Progress towards this trophy can be checked by visiting the ‘Tackle Box’ - click on the individual lures to see the total amount of fish caught. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/11.jpg Perfect Angler Win all the stages in the Professional Tournament. Missable This is one of the two missable trophies that is earned during the Professional Tournament. You must win all stages of this tournament to obtain the trophy. This is actually fairly easy to perform, please refer to the results I obtained during this tournament for an idea of weights needed to win each stage: Stage One - 1st with 80 lbs 13 oz, 2nd had 34 lbs 09 oz Stage Two - 1st with 57 lbs 07 oz, 2nd had 35 lbs 04 oz Stage Three - 1st with 56 lbs 06 oz, 2nd had 34 lbs 09 oz Stage Four - 1st with 37 lbs 14 oz, 2nd had 35 lbs 09 oz Stage Five - 1st with 48 lbs 14 oz, 2nd had 34 lbs 06 oz http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/785/12.jpg I love fishing Catch a total of 500 basses. This will be your last trophy to unlock after completion of Arcade and Original mode. You can track how many fish you've caught via the Leaderboards on the main menu, and also 'History Data' in the settings menu (the latter will be a more accurate tracking method as the leaderboards don't instantly update). This trophy will be a lengthy grind, and I highly suggest using Practice Mode to make your way to the 500 total. The rate you catch fish here is far higher due to the fact you can specify where to fish, the time of day and the weather conditions. Maybe try different lures and different areas to keep the experience as fresh as possible. MMDE
It would have been nice if the Overview in the Road Map said something about if difficulty affects any trophies.
UndergroundHipHopHead
On PSN when you go to buy SEGA Bass Fishing, it now asks for two different dollar amounts. Are there two different versions? I'm very confused about this. I'd like to buy the game though I can't figure out what the difference is about. I've just checked the EU store and there's only one game that comes up when you search, so I'm not really sure why it states two different amounts for you

UndergroundHipHopHead
I don't know. All we can really do is message the developer, publisher and sony about it on Twitter and hope for a response or just buy it and find out.
UndergroundHipHopHead
I just realized the prices are also different on Gamestop's website and Sony's. On Gamestop's it's $4.99 and Sony's is $9.99. Is there dlc for the game? I don't remember any dlc announced. I know now $9.99 was or still is the original price. I might buy the $4.99 version and see what it is. This is pissing me off not knowing. Though not as pissed off as I am after seeing how many people viewed this thread and didn't respond.
