Introduction

For Black Bean and Milestones first venture into trophies they can be forgiven for their only being a few. Reading through the trophy list they seem quite simple to get but there are a few tricky challenges and the fact that you have to win 12 championships add to the difficulty of this game. Also the wilderness that is the online mode will leave you rushing for the trophy boosting thread. Be warned that anything other than the North American version of the game has not been patched to include trophies.

Step 1: Track Records

For your first step you should be looking to get into the game and get used to the controls with a few challenging lap records to beat. Each lap record that you beat will add 1 card to your collection for the “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” trophy. During the time attacks you will not be able to leave the tarmac otherwise the lap will become invalid so be sure to drive carefully. You should be aiming to beat every circuits lap record so you can unlock the “Secret! Master of Records Cup”.

Step 2: Challenges

Moving on from the lap records and before you step into the championship stage you should attempt to complete every challenge. An advantage of this is you won’t get used to cutting corners if you haven’t done the championships beforehand and you should still be confident of not going off track. The first two challenge categories ‘Time’ and ‘Special’ end immediately if you drift off track so keep that in mind. There are a few tricky challenges but the best advice I can give you is to practice. You will develop your own techniques and master the challenges. Be sure to check out the tips for “Master of Challenges Cup” in the trophy guide for a more detailed description of harder challenges. You get awarded 1 card for every platinum medal you win in the challenges so be sure to aim for those.

Step 3: Championships

This is the step where you will spend most of your time. You get one trophy for winning a championship on any difficulty and a lot of 'Win _ races' trophies. The real challenge is to win 12 championships. You have to win 1 championship with each of the teams to earn cards. If you disable 'real rules' and enable 'jump starts' in the realism settings this will help you to win each of the races in quicker time and hopefully make it less tedious.

Step 4: Online

For the final step before platinum you are required to win 20 online races. Multiplayer is really quiet so you'll be best to post a requests in the boosting thread here. Select 'Multiplayer' from the main menu then set up a match with specific settings, get your partner to search for those settings and you're good to go. Once you've won your twentieth race the trophy will pop as well as the platinum, congratulations. Thanks for reading and good luck with the trophies.

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/02.jpgOne Race Cup (B)

The player must win 1 race at any difficulty level

If you feel like you want your first trophy out of the way quickly, simply start a quick race with your desired settings and win. This will come naturally on your road to platinum and during your first championship so there is no need to try for it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/03.jpgOne Record Cup (B)

The player must beat 1 track record in Time Attack mode

From the main menu choose ‘Time attacks’. From here select your favorite team and rider and select any random track to beat. Bear in mind you will have to keep to the track for the whole lap making this harder than it should be. Even the slightest lapse of concentration can cause an invalid lap and end it. Beat your first lap time for this trophy to pop

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/04.jpgOne Online Race Cup (B)

The player must win 1 online race

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown

Win one race online. See “Master of Online Races Cup” for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/05.jpgOne Challenge Cup (B)

The player must complete 1 challenge

From the main menu scroll down to, and enter ‘Challenges’. You will see different categories, ‘Time’, ‘Special’, Scenario 1’ and ‘Scenario 2’. Choose whichever floats your boat and beat it with either a bronze, silver, gold or platinum medal. You should essentially want to beat all the challenges you attempt to platinum to unlock different cards which will help towards the “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/06.jpgOne Card Cup (B)

The player must unlock 1 cards from all reward system decks

You unlock cards for doing specific tasks whether it’s beating a lap record or completing a challenge at platinum level. See “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” for more information. Simply unlock a card completing a task and the trophy should pop after you have chosen the card from the pack

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/07.jpgThree Races Cup (B)

The player must win 3 races at any difficulty level

Much like the “One Race Cup” trophy you shouldn’t really try for this as during your time with this game you will have to race loads of races. But, if you’re so inclined you can set up the quick races and win three to make this one unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/08.jpgThree Records Cup (B)

The player must beat 3 track records in Time Attack mode

This will come on your way to the “Secret! Master of Records Cup” trophy where you will have to beat all lap records.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/10.jpgThree Challenges Cup (B)

The player must complete 3 challenges

Complete and pass any three challenges of your choice. Only a bronze is required for this trophy but to unlock some cards I would suggest you attempt the platinum medals.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/14.jpgFive Races Cup (S)

The player must win 5 races of any difficulty level

This will come during your first championship. If you aim to win every race, which you should because they are so easy then this will come after the first race on the third venue.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/15.jpgFive Challenges Cup (S)

The player must complete 5 challenges

Go onto challenge mode and complete 5 challenges. The easiest five are probably in the ‘Scenario 1' section. You only have to pass them though with any medal type but platinum is advised.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/16.jpgFive Cards Cup (S)

The player must unlock 5 cards from all reward system decks

There are 68 cards to unlock in total so this one will be no challenge for you. See “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/18.jpgLord of Records Cup (S)

You will get this trophy on your way to the “Secret! Master of Records Cup”.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/23.jpgMaster of Challenges Cup (G)

The player must complete all challenges

The challenges are, for many, the hardest part of this game. You will have to complete each of them to a platinum standard to unlock cards. Knowing the right way to approach them is an invaluable. A lot of the techniques will just come after practice. The ones I will cover are just the few that have caused me trouble but for the rest, practice, practice, practice is the name of the game.

Time 5- For Time 5 you have to race 2 around Monza with the powered brake disabled. To claim the Platinum you will have to finish with 9 seconds remaining. This one is very hard to get used to. The directional arrows will aid you loads on this challenge. Once you start to see the arrow turn yellow, that is your signal to start braking. Once you have the hang of the braking then you can start to think about shaving some time off by using the apexes and maybe even braking later but turning earlier.

Skid- For this challenge you need to get 9 seconds of skidding in the marked out section for platinum. There is a fine line of how much skid you can get away with but that is what made me fail so many times. Getting this amount of skid right is the difference between falling and carrying on. I skidded on many of the straights to clock up the time. Tilt the analog stick and push down on the gas in short bursts and you will get small amounts of time added. On every corner you should be looking to claim the most time. It is possible to get this without skidding on the straights only if you get big skids on the corners.

Wheelie- The wheelie can be quite difficult for some as the circuit has very few long straights. You need 18 seconds of wheelie for the platinum. For even the smallest of straights try to get the front wheel up, this may mean slowing down so try to do it right after you come out of a corner. Be sure your bike is straight though before lift up otherwise you will swerve off track.

The platinum requirements for each challenge are as follows:

Time

Time 1- 9 seconds left

Time 2- 9 seconds left

Time 3- 9 seconds left

Time 4- 9 seconds left

Time 5- 9 seconds left

Special

Skid- 9 seconds of skid

Wheelie- 18 seconds of wheelie

Burnout- 5 burnouts completed

Stoppie- 15 seconds of stoppie

Acrobatics- 15 seconds left

Scenario 1

Head to Head- Race won with a 3 second gap

Comeback- Race won with a 3 second gap

Bike Damaged- Race Won

Running Away- Race won with a 10 second gap

Hang On- Race won with a 5 second gap

Scenario 2

Simulation Mode- Race won with a 5 second gap

Pouring Rain- Race won with a 3 second gap

Rules- Race won with a 5 second gap

No Brakes- Race won

SBK Champion- Race won with a 5 second gap

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/24.jpgMaster of Online Races Cup (G)

The player must win 20 online races

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown

The online in this game has been dead for a while now so you’ll be lucky to find a single person. Post a request in the boosting thread here. For the online races first you will have to scroll down to ‘Multiplayer’. If you are the host, click on ‘Create Match’ and choose your desired settings. Then get your boosting partner to search for those setting through the ‘Custom Match’ menu. You get trophies for winning online matches at regular intervals for 1, 3, 5, 10 and finally at 20 so you’ll be done before you know it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/26.jpgMaster of Races Cup (G)

The player must win 20 races of any difficulty level

A championship is made up of 24 races, 2 races for each circuit. So this trophy will come before the end of your first championship.

Secret Trophies

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/217/01.jpg Secret! King of Cups (P)(H)

When the player collects ALL cups, he wins the Platinum Trophy.

Congrats on your platinum.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/19.jpgSecret! Three Cards Cup (B)(H)

The player must unlock cards from all reward system decks

There are 68 cards to unlock in total so this one will be no challenge for you. See “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/11.jpgSecret! Lord Of Races Cup (S)(H)

The player must win 10 races of any difficulty level

Simply win 10 races with the settings of your choice. During your first championship though this will most likely come at the end of the fifth venue so there is very little need to go out your way to try for it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/21.jpgSecret! Lord Of Cards Cup(S)(H)

The player must unlock 10 cards from all reward system decks

There are 68 cards to unlock in total so this one will be no challenge for you. See “Secret! Master of Cards Cup” for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/22.jpgSecret! Lord of Challenges Cup (S)(H)

The player must complete 10 challenges

Pass 10 challenges at a bronze level or higher for this one to unlock. See “Master of Challenges Cup” for more information on some of the harder challenges.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/20.jpgSecret! Master Of Championship Cup (G)(H)

The player must win 1 championship at any difficulty level

Quite an easy gold in comparison. Set up a championship with any team, and be sure to set the laps to 1 and the opponents to rookie to make it as quick as possible. To win cards you will have to win 12 championships each with a different team so remember which team you use for this as you don’t want to repeat the same championship. The races themselves are very straight forward it’s just very time consuming. To make it quicker you can even skip through the qualifying straight to the races.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/25.jpgSecret! Master of Records Cup (G)(H)

The player must beat all track records in Time Attack mode

There are 12 different tracks in the game. When you select ‘Time Attack’ mode you will then be brought to the menu to select the team and rider of your choice, the race options and most importantly the track. During the time attacks you will not be able to venture off track as this deems the lap invalid. Invalid laps obviously do not count when going for the lap record so be sure to keep your concentration on staying on the tarmac. Use the apexes to your advantage especially the ones at Monza, big amounts of time are saved on those. When you’ve broken your 12th record the trophy will pop on returning to the main menu.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/217/27.jpgSecret! Master of Cards Cup (G)(H)

The player must unlock all cards from all reward system decks

You will unlock cards for doing the following:

- Beating every lap record in ‘Time Attack’ (12 cards)

- Completing every challenge, ‘Time’, ‘Special’, ‘Scenario 1’ and ‘Scenario 2’ to a platinum medal. (20 cards)

- Winning both events during a race weekend for every circuit. (24 cards)

- Winning a championship for each of the 12 SBK teams. (12 cards)

You get to choose your card from a deck of 5 so after you have selected your last card the trophy will be on its way to you.

Hey, good stuff on the guide!

Just I think we would need more specific details on the challenge requirements for a 'in game" platinum medal. As unfortunately the game is not giving proper requirement descriptions...

Yeah good call mate. I'll get those up soon.

They do have then there but you need to win at least a bronze for the platinum medal to show up. Its terrible design really, and they've done it for SBK09 and Superstars V8

I have the old one on my PSP and there, you can go in extras and it tells you what you need to do to unlock each and every card. Why they changed their ways, I have no idea...

I just started the game today, only thing left for platinum is getting all those in-game "platinum" medals. I didn't notice the requrements being given after a bronze. Maybe I'm blind lol. I'll look into it after TSL I ends.

Once you win the bronze medal, if you don't restart it straight away and go back to the main menu then the next time you open up that challenge the only requirements you'll see will be those for Silver, Gold & Platinum.

I guess they just didn't have enough space to put another medal in the box on the loading screen...

I don't rate these developers i've said it loads before. If you compare their two games of last year, Superstars V8 and SBK 09 then you'll see the only change is a few different colours and obviously the name change in the menus

My daughter told me,"Daddy, what's strange this game? Is it call SEX?" (Refer to SBK font model) :wall:

Anyway, this game was very annoying esp. for take corner, brake, and release the accelerate button. I was spend a couple hours just to get the driving mood and adjust the circuit. Even in Monza, I can't beat that time or I always out of the track, causes invalid lap. :deadhorse:

Thanks for the guide! Now i'm left with 1 more before platinum :)

EDIT:

I've calculated a faster way to finish all the championships. Complete Losail (Both raced) 1st and you'll have 50 points in the lead. Now, for each track skip to race 2 and finish it 1st. n(25) + 50 (n being number of tracks) will always be more than the second racer because he is at n(25) + 40. It will never surpass your lead.

Example:

11(25) + 50 = 325

11(25) + 40 = 315

This means 13 races each championship instead of 24

EDIT 2: It is flawed. However you can skip about 5 - 6 times if 5 other tracks are completed both on 1 & 2.
