If you find this or any other guide I have written useful and as a consequence sign up to the site, I would appreciate it if you gave me a referral upon sign up :)

Roadmap

Overview:

-Estimated trophy difficulty – 3/10

-Offline (breakdown) – 51 (40-(B)|9-(S)|1-(G)|1-(P))

-Online (breakdown) - None

-Approximate amount of time to platinum – 12-15 Hours

-Minimum number of playthroughs needed – 2 (plus some flashback episodes)

-Number of missable trophies – You wasted your life, It must be SAW, Brought to you by,...., Old School

-Glitched trophies – None

-Do cheat codes disable trophies? – No

Step 1 – Four Easy Trophies

First, you should aim to get the four easy trophies out of the way. These are You wasted your life, It must be SAW, Brought to you by,.... and Old School.

Check the trophy guide for instructions on how to get all of these trophies, but just for clarity you will be able to get all four of these before you even start the game.

Before you start Step 2, let me warn you that there seems to be a glitch that possibly allows you to skip a second playthrough. Personally I could not get this to work, but other people have. The thread discussing this and the method used is [thread=77232]HERE[/thread].

Make sure you have a read through this before proceeding. :)

Step 2 – Playthrough 1 – Normal Difficulty

When you play the first case, you play as Campbell. Towards the end of the level you have to make a choice, either live or die. The outcome of this choice dictates which ending you will get.

For this step, I let Campbell die and ultimately not reach the elevator. I was therefore on the story arc of Path of the Flesh. This trophy will not unlock during the first chapter, but at the end of the game:
Michael will reach the elevator and survive and the final case finishes.

During this playthrough you will be aiming to get all the collectable trophies. As there are so many I suggest you use the collectables guide from our sister site: Collectables Guide. Make sure that you get each one in the order they appear in the guide, as this makes it easier to keep track of any you may have missed.

Step 3 – Playthrough 2 – Normal Difficulty

Start a new game, but this time make sure that when Campbell has to choose between life and death, he lives and reaches the elevator. Doing this means you are on the story arc of Path of Blood. Again the trophy will not unlock during the first chapter but at the end of the game:
Michael will not reach the elevator and instead will die and the final case finishes.

Step 4 – Flashbacks – Completing the Puzzles

You should now have all trophies for the main game and all of the collectable trophies. You will more than likely also have some of the trophies for completing the various puzzles on normal difficulty.

This step relates to using the flashback feature to complete any puzzles you may have missed whilst playing through on normal difficulty. After you have completed all the puzzles on normal difficulty use the flashback facility to flashback to all the puzzles, but this time complete them on Insane difficulty.

I have listed in the trophy guide the location (Case) you have to flashback to for each of the puzzles.

You should now have all trophies for Saw II: Flesh & Blood. Congratulations.

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 3 - Henry. After coming down the stairs into the hotel lobby, you will get a cut scene where Jigsaw starts talking to you. When the cut scene ends a door will open. As you enter this doorway the game will autosave and the puzzle is to left as you enter the room. If you do not beat the fastest time, then just restart the checkpoint.

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 1 - Campbell. After defeating the first Rammer, you progress onwards into a long corridor. After completing the button press sequence, there will be a room to the right with a save recorder. Save your game and then opposite the room where you have just saved is the puzzle. I found this puzzle to be one of the hardest to complete, but since you save your game just before the puzzle, restarting the checkpoint is quick and easy.

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 7 - Solomon. When the level starts you get a cutscene where you are talking to an NPC. When this finishes, move the boxes using the crane controls, so that you have a place to walk across. As soon as you walk across the boxes the puzzle is in front of you. If you do not beat the fastest time, then just restart the checkpoint.

The only place you can try this puzzle is during Case 3 - Henry. At the end of the corridor where you find your first Billy Puppet, there will be four doors: two to the left and two to the right. In the last room on the left you will find the Jigsaw puzzle. This puzzle is one of the only puzzles in the game that you can look at before attempting. Unfortunately, this is also one of the only puzzles in the game that autosaves as soon as it is complete, so if you do not beat the time, you need to complete the level again :( . I suggest that you complete the puzzle at your leisure the first time you attempt it, and just before you place you final piece, either memorise, take a photo, draw etc. the layout of the completed puzzle. This way when you try it again you can speed through it.

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 3 - Henry. At the end of the corridor where you find your first Billy Puppet, there will be four doors: two to the left and two to the right. In the first room on the left you will find a weapon case. First, you will need to find the hand-made lockpick, which is in one of rooms on the left. This puzzle is similar to the normal lockpick puzzle, except instead of controlling the pick, this time you are controlling the dials. If you do not slow down the speed of the pick, you should get this no problem.

I would suggest that you attempt this puzzle after completing the Jigsaw box puzzle, because after the Jigsaw Box puzzle the game autosaves, so your checkpoint is in the next room.

Beat the best time for the Dial Puzzle mini-game (Insane)

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 1 - Campbell. Just after freeing yourself, at the start of the game, you come into a room where you have to look at what has been carved into your chest. This is the clue to the puzzle. The puzzle itself is to the left of the door. I struggled to remember the exact positioning of each part of the puzzle, so found it easy to take it slowly at first and familiarise myself with how the completed puzzle should look. Once I did this I restarted the checkpoint and got the best time.

During Case 4 - Sarah, you come to a part of the game where you have to do two TV floor puzzles (one on the left, one on the right). At the end of these floor puzzles you will find a lights out mini-game. As there are two within this section, I suggest you attempt both mini-games to get the trophies and if you fail on both then you can restart the checkpoint.

Times to beat are: Normal-5 Seconds and Insane-20 Seconds

Beat the best time for the Lockpick mini-game (Insane)

The best place to try this puzzle is during Case 1 - Campbell. After walking through some alleys, you come into a room where the only way to escape is by picking the lock. These trophies should come naturally as they are very easy, but to get the fastest time you need to pick the lock without slowing down the movement of the nail. As long as you do not slow down the nail, you should beat the time easily.

Times to beat are: Normal-8 Seconds and Insane-9 Seconds

Defeated 'The Bullish Man'

Story-related, cannot be missed.

During the first case, Case 1 – Campbell, you will go outside and be told about running. Press the button for the elevator and a cutscene will play. During this cutscene you will be introduced to a man known as the “Rammer”. Defeat him to unlock this trophy.
To defeat the “Rammer,” hit the elevator button and then stand in front of the elevator. As he charges you, move out of the way and he will fall into the elevator shaft. Once he has fallen the doors to the left of the room will open, allowing you to advance.

Escaped 'The Bullish Man'

Story-related, cannot be missed.

During Case 4 – Sarah, you will again come across another “Rammer.” Defeat him to advance and unlock the trophy.
To defeat the “Rammer,” stand next to the crumbling wall, on top of the X that is on the floor. As he charges you move out of the way so that he crashes into the wall. After three times of him doing this the wall will collapse and he will be defeated.

Story-related, cannot be missed.

You will get this at the very beginning of the game.
One of your first actions in the game is to control a character called Campbell. He has a head trap attached to him and to take it off you need to get the key which is behind his eyeball. Follow the buttons that are shown on the TV screens to get the key.

Campbell did not survive his test

Watch the credits without skipping

From the main menu, select the credits and watch them to the very end, without skipping. Should take about 45-60 seconds to complete. Once watched, the trophy will unlock. You can also wait until you have completed the game and watch the credits then.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/51.jpgOld School (B)

Entered the legendary Konami Code

At the first screen (where you have to press start to enter the main game menu) enter the code below by pressing the buttons listed:

    :left: :right: :left: :right: :circle: :cross: :start:

Once entered the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/02.jpgHenry Jacobs (S)

Freed Henry from the trap

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 3 – Henry, you will come across Henry Jacobs sitting in a chair with a gun in his mouth. Complete the extended Lights Out mini-game to free him and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/03.jpgSarah Blalock (S)

Freed Sarah from the trap

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 4 – Sarah, you will come across Sarah in a cage surrounded by electrified water.

Complete the puzzle to free her.

You will need to match up pipe fittings to be able to drain the tank of water. You need to get all 3 pieces of spinning pipe to rotate into place at the same time. I found it easier to leave the middle pipe alone and then concentrate on the top and bottom pipes. Press :cross: to hold the top pipe and then release once the middle pipe is in the same position as the top. Repeat this for the bottom pipe and all 3 pieces should line up. You will need to do this for a total of nine pipe pieces, with the last 3 (furthest right) being by far the hardest three to line up.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/04.jpgJoseph Poltzer (S)

Freed Joseph from the trap

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 5 – Joseph, you will come across Joseph being held in a vice machine. Complete the puzzle, which is basically four Kaleidoscope mini-games (one for each limb) to free him and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/05.jpgCarla Song (S)

Freed Carla from the trap

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 6 – Carla, you will come across Carla being held in an Elevator trap. Complete the puzzle to free her and the trophy will unlock.
The puzzle for Carla, was in my opinion one of the easiest in the game. You have to make the total of the left and right side balance (for example: Left = 3, 2, 0 Right= 6, 1, 4. The Left side adds up to 5 and the right adds up to 11. As you need to balance the sides you need to swap two numbers. In this example swap the 3 and the 6, so that both sides now add up to 8). You need to do this in the fewest possible moves, which I found was possible to do with 4 moves. One move for each puzzle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/06.jpgSolomon Bates (S)

Freed Solomon from the trap

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 7 – Solomon, you will come across Solomon hanging from a cart above some gas pipes. Complete the puzzle to free him and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/525/48.jpgPath of Blood (G)

Campbell survived his test

Story-related, cannot be missed.

At the end of Case 1, you have to make a choice of whether Campbell lives or dies. If you let him live, you will be on the Path of Blood story arc and will get this trophy at the end of the game.

Just a couple things:

The trophy icon for Carla Song is wrong. Just a little heads up.

I'd suggest putting some hints into the guide for the "beat the best time" trophies.

For instance with the Jigsaw puzzlebox (which is easily the hardest of these trophies) there is only 1 in the whole game and it's a couple of rooms into the 3rd chapter (after the guy on the exploding chair who you save). What I did was not actually interact with the puzzlebox, but angled the camera so it was facing down at the puzzle itself. The puzzle looks exactly the same when you actually interact with it and makes it take 10 seconds to solve instead of like 4 minutes.

Also, you're guaranteed to win the 2 lock picking games if you don't slow down at all.

Also I feel like a lot of luck is involved with these best times really.

Thanks for the comments mate.... I took the image for the Carla Song from the main site, so will check this out when I get on the PS3 later...

I will be looking at adding the times to beat for all the "beat the time puzzles".

I will sure to use your tips for the puzzle box mini-game and will add you method to the guide in a bit.... Thanks for you help

-Approximate amount of time to platinum – 12-15 Hours

-Minimum number of playthroughs needed – 2 (plus some flashback episodes)

Taken from the first saw guide:

Approximate time for platinum: 8-12 hours

Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1...

So, is the game shorter than the first Saw? I'm talking about a single playthrough.

A single playthrough, takes about 6-8 hours when collecting all the collectables.... The 2nd playthrough, knowing all the puzzles can be rushed through in 3-5 hours. Then you have the flashback elements....

I hope this answers your question.. :)

If you redo the first chapter and do the opposite to your first playthrough then just replay last chapter you will get the trophy. hope this saves time for a few people

Can anyone else confirm that this actually works???

I am not trying to discredit what you are saying, but I need to be 100% certain, before adding it to the guide....

Not sure if it's been picked up on, but in Chapter 3 after saving that man, you come to a long corridor, through one of these doors is a box needing a lockpick to open. If you find the lockpick and unlock it quickly enough, you will get the weapon box trophies. It worked for me.

Also - Regarding the path of flesh and blood trophies, you only need to reply Campbells and Michaels chapters, just doing the opposite choices though.

Also - Regarding the path of flesh and blood trophies, you only need to reply Campbells and Michaels chapters, just doing the opposite choices though.

there is no opposi

te choices to michaels level me and wife have done both 1st last level 4 times and no trophy now, the only way i have seen ppl from xbox game get it is in the 1st level if u die then hit the checkpoint to do it again some people have got both on 1 playthrough, this play 1st last levels does not work.

If you redo the first chapter and do the opposite to your first playthrough then just replay last chapter you will get the trophy. hope this saves time for a few people

Personally I cannot see how it is possible for you to suddenly skip from the first level (via Flashback) to the last level and expect to get both ending trophies.

If you think about it all save data for the chapters/cases inbetween the first and last will be saved using the playthrough one data.

I believe what cars123456789 is saying, but I have not tested this myself so cannot confirm....

Can anyone else confirm or deny this???? Currently we are on:

2 People saying it works

1 Person saying it does not....
