So, what is a High Elf Pyro Valuable Shopper Build?

Well, she is a High Elf who specializes in Pyromancy with a higher then normal chance to find valuables and loves to shop. This means that you will dominate your foes with massive fire damage, find higher quality loot from enemies and chests and be able to shop for the best gear in the game for any of yours or your friends characters!

###################

# 2. COMBAT ARTS & MODS #

###################

While trying to decide if I wanted to be a Fire, Ice or Lightning type mage, I looked at all the skills and combat arts of each class. I also read several forums to see how each of them work on the console. There isn't too much to the Lighting class for casters, and the Ice class seemed to cumbersome to handle on consoles do the the difficult targeting system. Therefore, I decided to go with a Fire Mage.

MOsXlaL.png Arrant Pyromancer

Ancestral Fireball: This will be your ranged attack for sniping off enemies or taking out heavily damaged ones.

Runes: Try to keep your regen time around 1.1sec - 1.5sec when reading runes.

BRONZE: You will ignite enemies quite often and the AOE can be very helpful at lower levels.

X Greek Fire - Increases the chance that the hit opponent will burn.

jSVCS9J.gif Explosion - Fireballs inflict area effect damage on nearby opponents.

SILVER: Although more damage seems tempting, you can deal more damage with 2 fireballs as well as hit 2 enemies at once.

YjlfD74.gif Fusillade - Conjures an additional fireball. Overall damage will be increased but divided between the fireballs.

X Globe - The fireball increases in size and inflicts more damage.

GOLD: It is tempting to fight with 3 fireballs. However, the accuracy is way too burdening to overlook heat seeking fireballs.

X Fusillade - Conjures an additional fireball. Overall damage will be increased but divided between the fireballs.

whPPsEn.gif Hot Pursuit - Fireballs will follow their targets.

Blazing Tempest: This will be your mob killer and will take out a multitude of foes in seconds.

Runes: Try to keep your regen time around 1.1sec - 1.5sec when reading runes.

BRONZE: Some enemies can keep up with the waves while they chase you already, inflicting more unintentional damage. This is a good reason to boost damage.

jSVCS9J.gif Scorch - Inflicts more damage upon impact.

X Ignite - Increases spread speed.

SILVER: There are already multiple skills and arts that will reduce your regen. More damage is welcome.

X Spell Flow - Significantly decreases the regeneration time of Blazing Tempest.

YjlfD74.gif Conflagration - Sets targets ablaze. (41.7% increase in burning damage)

GOLD: It is more effective to take down enemies faster then to scare them away.

X Fright - Adds a chance to scare targets into fleeing.

whPPsEn.gif Ambition - Increases the chance to land critical hits.

Incendiary Shower: This will be your boss and close combat killer.

Runes: Try to keep your regen time around 1.1sec - 1.5sec when reading runes.

BRONZE: More damage is tempting, but a high chance to stun even bosses is more tempting.

jSVCS9J.gif Skull Smash - Chance to stun opponents on impact. (30% + 0.3% per CA level chance of stunning)

X Magma Rain - Increases meteor fire damage.

SILVER: Duration will not be necessary due to low regen time at a very early level. More damage is welcome.

X Continuity - Increases Incendiary Shower duration.

YjlfD74.gif Smoking Rock - Meteors inflicts more physical damage.

GOLD: This spell is easily spammed and the casting time is not that long. The additional chance to crit is quite amazing.

whPPsEn.gif Devastation - Increases the chance of inflicting critical hits. (9.9% + 0.1% per CA level chance)

X Intensity - The time interval between meteor falls is shorter. Number of meteor is unchanged.

Fire Demon: This will be your third buff later on due to high regen penalty and considerably weak Demon at lower levels.

Runes: Try not to read too many runes for this spell due to the high regen penalty it offers.

BRONZE: Higher level means stronger Demon. You can always re-spawn the Demon when needed anyway.

jSVCS9J.gif Power - Increases the level of the summoned demon. (+3)

X Renew - Increases the demon's lifepoints regeneration.

SILVER: Casting speed shouldn't be a problem and you can benefit greatly from the defense.

X Lively - The demon reduces spell casting time.

YjlfD74.gif Guard - Reduces the impact and the weakening effects on the High Elf. (25% reduction on debuffs)

GOLD: Lower regen means higher level spell potential. Don't count on your Demon to kill anything.

whPPsEn.gif When the demon is present, the Combat Arts regeneration penalty is reduced. (25% decrease)

X Increases the level of the summoned demon. (+3)

Incandescent Skin: This will be your primary buff and because of the weak nature of this character, we will build it for defense.

Runes: Read as much runes as you can later on in the game, just keep a watchful eye on regen penalty. I would wait until Gold level before starting to raise this.

BRONZE: Enemies will be on fire most of the time. Less ranged damage is great do to the range nature of this character.

X Inferno - Increases the chance to set fire to opponent when they sustain fire damage.

jSVCS9J.gif Combusting Arrows - Chance that arrows may burn before they can inflict damage. (30% + 2% per CA level chance to block ranged attack)

SILVER: It would be nice to take on less regen. However, the high chance to reflect close combat damage is crucial at higher levels.

X Energy Focus - Decreases the regeneration time of the aspect Arrant Pyromancer.

YjlfD74.gif Revenge - Chance to reflect close combat damage. (30% + 2% per CA level chance)

GOLD: Less regen may be more important then more damage at this point. You should rely on Fire Demon later on for increased damage.

whPPsEn.gif Arrant Pyromancer Expertise - Further decreases the regeneration time for the Arrant Pyromancer aspect.

X Fiery Ardor - Additionally increases fire damage.

WX62u0U.png Mystic Stormite

There are no real Combat Arts that you will find useful as a Pyro High Elf, especially since you will not be taking on any Stormite Focus or Lore. I also find it is very tedious to juggle Combat Arts you don't use very often because of the weird Combat Art slot system on consoles. That said, just stay clear from these Arts.

JSCvl5C.png Delphic Arcania

Shadow Step: This Combat Art is mainly for traveling. It makes your life easier with the ability to make your own shortcuts past bushes, trees or even across rivers.

Runes: Don't even bother reading runes for this skill, you won't use this skill as much as you think.

BRONZE: You wont think of using this skill in battle very often. I suggest lower cool down time because it can get annoying waiting for the Art to replenish.

jSVCS9J.gif Phase Shift - Decreases the cool-down time, not regeneration time, of Shadow Step.

X Escape - Chance to break all rooting effects while teleporting.

SILVER: It can get annoying when you teleport and enemies still hit you even when you are not there. Therefore, the invulnerability would be greatly appreciated.

X Vanish - The caster remains invisible for a brief period after the teleport.

YjlfD74.gif Sanctuary - The caster is briefly invulnerable after the teleport.

GOLD: The point of this Combat Art is to travel, not to attack. Healing will be ideal for the damage taken by enemies you are trying to evade.

X Explosion - Inflicts damage while teleporting. (To get an idea it does as much as the unmodded fire damage part of Fireball, damage type is magic)

whPPsEn.gif Mend - Heals the caster during teleport. (20% + 0.2% per CA level healing)

Grand Invigoration: This is your second buff that you will take on. It is a great way to lower regen times and you can upgrade is as much as you want with no penalty.

Runes: Spam as much runes on this combat Art as you can, you gain bonus to regen with no downfall.

BRONZE: Choice is obvious, no reason to explain.

jSVCS9J.gif Arrant Pyromancer Expertise - The regeneration time for the aspect Arract Pyromancer will decrease significantly. (10% + 1% per CA level decrease)

X Mystic Stormite Expertise - The regeneration time for the aspect Mystic Stormite will decrease significantly. (10% + 1% per CA level decrease)

SILVER: Being a regen buff, lets keep it that way.

YjlfD74.gif Replenish - Further decreases the regeneration time of all spells. (7% + 0.7% per CA level decrease)

X Life Energy - Additionally increases the hitpoint regeneration rate. (1.5hp/sec + 1hp/sec per CA level)

GOLD: Debuff defense on this mod along with the fire demon mod, you have a base reduction of 55% at skill level 1. Run speed isn't that important.

whPPsEn.gif Resilience - Reduces the impact and duration of incoming detrimental effects. (30% + 0.3% per CA level reduction on debuffs)

X Fleetness - Increases run speed while Grand Invigoration is active. (9.9% + 0.1% per CA level increase)

# 3.ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS #

##################

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strength: 0%
  • Stamina: 0%
  • Vitality: 10%
  • Dexterity: 0%
  • Intelligence: 90%
  • Willpower: 0%

Note: High Elves are extremely squishy. This is why I suggest spending attribute points on Vitality every 10 levels. Intelligence will be your primary attribute to boost which will increase your Combat Art damage as well as Spell Intensity which will allow you to land full damage more often.

SKILLS:

I designed this character as a caster only character which means, she will gain no real benefit from weapons other then modifiers. These are the skills I suggest to take in the order listed. The numbers indicate what your skill levels should look like once you reach level 200 which consists of all 911 skill points spent.

Note: I would like to remind you that the skills should be chosen in the order they appear above because of class restrictions and needs. I will explain why I chose these skills and how you should upgrade in the next section.

# 4.LEVELING UP#

############

Each character is supposed to be able to unlock new combat art modification points after spending skill points. They will unlock after spending the following points in the Combat Art's respected Focus or Lore:

3, 5, 9, 14, 22, 31, 42, 55, 70, 87, 106, 126, 149, 173, 199.

It is very important to modify Combat arts in the following order:

  1. Incandescent Skin: Bronze, Silver & Gold (Range and Melee defense are important at lower levels and so is the regen benefit.)
  2. Incendiary Shower: Bronze (This spell is rather useless until you get the Stun chance.)
  3. Ancestral Fireball: Bronze, Silver & Gold (It's almost impossible to fight with fireballs until you have heatseaking ones.)
  4. Blazing Tempest: Bronze & Silver (I find this spell most effective with damage boosts at lower levels.)
  5. Fire Demon: Bronze, Silver & Gold (You should definitely get this before you take on the 3rd buff)
  6. Blazing Tempest: Gold (Time to move on.)
  7. Incendiary Shower: Silver & Gold (This spell is already highly effective with only the stun.)
  8. Grand Invigoration: Bronze, Silver & Gold (Although different aspect, make sure you upgrade it ASAP.)
  9. Shadow Step: Bronze, Silver & Gold (Last one on the list, this spell isn't too important.)

Furthermore, Each character is also supposed to unlock a new skill after levels 2, 3, 5, 8, 12, 18, 25, 35, 50 and 65 which you need 75 hard points in a skill for it's mastery bonus.

You will also gain skill points each time you level up.

  • [1] skill points from levels 1-4, (3 * 1 = 3)
  • [2] skill points from levels 5-11, (7 * 2 = 14)
  • [3] skill points from levels 12-24, (13 * 3 = 39)
  • [4] skill points from levels 25-49, (25 * 4 = 100)
  • [5] skill points from levels 50-200, (5 * 26 = 130)

This will give you a total of 286 points at level 75. This means you can master 3 skills by level 75 with 61 points left over and it's important which one you take on first. I will break down the skill points by levels to further help you build this character.

Level 2

It is important you take on Concentration as soon as you reach level 2. This will allow you to take on 2 buffs right away which will be well needed. Once mastered, you will gain the ability to activate 3 buffs at one time which will greatly increase your effectiveness in taking down enemies. This is why it will be the first skill to master at level 75. Make sure it's maxed to your level, but should be secondary to the Pyro Lore & Focus.

Level 3

This is when you should choose Arrant Pyromancer Lore. This skill will allow you increase Damage, crit and execution for spells and will also unlock Pyromancer Focus along with modification points for Combat Arts. This will be the second skill to master at level 75. Spend all points into this skill until it's maxed at your level to allow for faster modification points.

Level 5

This is when you should choose Arrant Pyromancer Focus. This skill will lower your regen time for your spells. This skill should be maxed until it reaches level 42. Spend all points in Pyro focus and lore until maxed at level to allow for faster modification points.

Level 8

This is when you should choose Bargaining. This skill will allow for higher quality items for sale in the shops. Once this skill is mastered at skill level 75, you will gain better quality items from quest rewards. It is also said that you will be able to purchase unique/rare and even set items from vendors later on. Although, the PC version was already patched to restrict set purchases and I would guess it will also be fixed on the next PS3 patch. This will be the third skill to master at level 75. Keep this skill maxed along with Pyro Lore and Concentration. Try to keep your three main skills at the same level, but concentrate on keeping Pyro Lore and Focus maxed first. Just make sure you have 5 points invested in this skill by level 12 to unlock Enhanced Perception.

Level 12

This is when you should choose Enhanced Perception which, despite popular belief, will increase your Chance to Find Valuables (Better quality gear) even at level 1. It will also unlock Chance to Find Valuables from certain items. Once mastered at skill level 75, you will find more loot from chests. For now, leave this skill at level 1 and use relics with +X to Enhanced perception until later on.

Level 18

This is when you should choose Armor Lore. This skill will allow you to wear higher leveled armor and will increase your total armor class as well as decrease the negative regen modifiers from armor. According to Sacred 2 wiki, it also increases your resists and not just your armor. Make sure you have 5 skill points on this by level 35 so you can unlock other Defensive skills, but don't add any more points here until after level 75.

Level 25

This is when you should choose Delphic Arcania Focus. This skill is only good for 2 things, increasing level cap for the Delphic Arcania buff and allowing to fully upgrade 2 Combat arts (which is why you only need to put a total of 31 points into this skill). Take 5 levels to spend on this skill up until level 14 to modify Grand invigoration.

Level 31

By this time, you should have completely modified Grand Invigoration. Start pumping your main skills again.

Level 35

This is when you should choose Shield Lore. This skill will increase the defense value of shields and allow you to use higher level shields while unlocking modifiers. Once mastered at skill level 75, you will gain additional chance to block attacks. Don't put any points into this skill until after level 75.

Level 50

This is when you should choose Constitution. It's the perfect time for this skill to increase your Health points and regeneration. Don't add any points into this skill until later on.

Level 65

This is when you should choose Ancient Magic. This skill will increase your spell damage. Once mastered at skill level 75, it will reduce the enemies resistance significantly. Don't add any more points here until after level 75.

Level 75

At this point, you should have mastered Concentration, Arrant Pyromancer Lore and Bargaining and should also be close to mastering Arrant Pyromancer Focus.

Your skills should look like this:

  • Concentration: 75
  • Arrant Pyromancer Lore: 75
  • Arrant Pyromancer Focus: 42
  • Bargaining: 75
  • Enhanced perception: 1
  • Armor Lore: 5
  • Delphic Arcania Focus: 14
  • Constitution: 1
  • Shield Lore: 1
  • Ancient Magic: 1

Now you should start mastering other skills based on your needs. Start with Arrant Pyromancer Focus and keep Bargaining maxed at each level.

Level 84

By this time you should have mastered Arrant Pyromancer Focus. From this point on, start focusing on single skills keeping Bargaining maxed at each level. I suggest starting with Shield Lore, to unlock chance to block, and then Ancient Magic to unlock resist debuff. However, take a few levels to pump Armor Lore and Constitution for extra protection, HP and the ability to regenerate HP during combat. You judge what to spend on from now on, just keep in mind that Enhanced Perception should already have multiple skill modifiers and could be left alone for a while.

# 5. ITEMS & SOCKETS #

################

The High Elf Pyro Valuable Shopper is very squishy and vulnerable which will require a more defensive way of thinking when picking out your gear. However, with the right gear you will be an unstoppable killing and looting tyrant. I have designed a combination of items to compliment the High Elf Pyro Valuable Shopper which I will explain.

WEAPONS

Being a pure caster, weapons are not too important to our Pyro. Stay away from 2 handed weapons so she can hold a much needed shield and take on weapons that are not restricted by modifiers. The only real reason for the weapon is to boost stats and lower regen. This staff should be something to aspire for. With the boost to Combat Arts, a negative regen modifier may be needed.

ZzGJ189.jpg

SHIELDS

This shield is one of the best in the game and with the resistance, debuff protection along with increased defense value, it is quite useful at higher levels.

eWpxBUq.jpg

ARMOR

Set: Virgo's Revenge

2 Item Bonus: Chance to Reflect: Close Combat +6.8% on Silver

Description: With the chance to reflect bonus at only 2 items needed, this set is a must. Our hero will also benefit from lower regen time, additional block chance and increased armor percentage.

HELM

bTWxY4t.png

CHEST

9STQDIF.png

Set: Adornments of the Ancestors

2 Item Bonus: Run Speed +8% on Silver

3 Item Bonus: Chance to Disregard Armor +5.4% on Silver

4 Item Bonus: Chance to Find Valuables +14.8% on Silver

Description: This set is very useful for this build. Not only does it increase your chance to find valuables, it will increase your run speed and disregard some of the enemies armor. You also gain quite a bit of armor, additional resistance along with additional chance to evade. Only the Arm piece seems a little useless for our Pyro, but it is needed to complete the set bonus. It should be noted that the belt is not part of the set, but adds additional chance to reflect close combat which is great.

ARMS

HANDS

BELT

LEGS

BOOTS

HGTJXxi.gif

AMULETS & RINGS

Our hero is a Pyro so +X% Fire Damage is useful, but don't forget about +x to Skills, +X% Chance to find Valuables, +X% Chance to Reflect: Close Combat or any chance to evade, block, increase Armor/Defense or Debuff protection. Even Vitality and +X Hitpoints are useful.

SOCKETS

When you start this character, it won't be easy to find the right sockets at first. For now, don't worry too much about it until you reach Gold Level. I suggest using the Blacksmith art of Enhance which offers additional Chance for Critical Hits and lowers Regen Times which may be needed at lower levels. Later on you should add +X to Skills as much as you can.

###########

# 6.PLAYSTYLE#

###########

WEAK OPPONENTS

It's best to snipe off the secluded enemies with your Ancestral Fireball. It should be strong enough to take on weak enemies with a few direct shots.

MOBS

Mobs are the Pyro's specialty. She can take on multiple enemies without even trying. Just let off a few waves of Blazing Tempest and walk away as your foes fall to the ground. I would warn not to be too trigger happy with this spell however as 3+ waves in an open area may cause game hindering lag. I have experienced failed button recognition until the particles let out by more then 2 waves dissipate which will leave you highly vulnerable. Caves are a different story as they offer less for your system to compute. Just be careful.

BOSSES & ELITES

This High Elf Pyro Valuable Shopper can be quite powerful. When you are facing a boss or a particularly difficult enemy, let them get close and use your Meteor strike. The strike can be very powerful even at an early level and the stun is highly effective against all enemies. Yes, this means you can even take out bosses without blinking. Just keep a close watch on health in case the enemy lands a few hits on you.

STARTING TIPS

  • If your new to the game, check out my Beginners Guide to Sacred 2 for PS3 Users. You may be surprised at the information you will find there, even as a veteran player. I try to unveil most of the mysterious issues or questions you may have based on the PS3 iteration of the game.

  • If you have not yet done so, read my Guide to Getting Your Special Mount at Level 1. It will greatly increase your survivability with the additional armor, health and regen benefit with only 1,500 gold to start. If you are good enough you will never have to buy another mount in your life.

  • When you go out into the world the best way to level up is to follow with all the side quests while revealing map. On your way to any destination don't forget to let go a few waves of Blazing Tempest. Your foes will fall as they try to catch you. This will ensure a steady leveling pace along with additional chance to find valuables as you discover new areas. For ever 4% of the map revealed you get + 1% to Chance to Find Valuables. Every little bit helps.

  • Try your hardest not to die. The higher your survivability bonus the more chance you will find valuables, more xp you will gain and the more enemies you will face. Once you die, the game kind of goes easy on you and you lose all benefits until your survivability bonus increases again. This is another good reason to have a mount at early levels as they offer a kind of free life before you die. They will bite the bullet for you.

  • This character is a perfect alt. Try to keep it a few levels higher then yours or your friends main character. As an expert shopper, you can customize your gear to boost Bargaining which may significantly increase your chances to find amazing gear at lower levels which can be passed on to your friends or your main character.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Before I decided to make this guide, I had already started a new High Elf character which has already reached level 50. Although, I did put much thought into how I would build this character, I found there was a few things I would tweak if I were to start again. Most of this information was written based on research. However, I think I might start over to see how far my research will bring me and see for myself how effective this build really is. If anyone has any thoughts or opinions, you are welcome to share them. If not, I will update this guide based on my own personal experiences.

Awesome, I have put a lot of thought into this build and I don't think you will be dissapointed.

BTW, nice quote in your sig.

Right now,I'm trying to get 3 trophies;

Dont' die while doing the campaign.

Finish bronze with less than 20% of the map being discovered.

And finish the main quest without buying anything, all in one campaign! ^.^

And so far, looks like I'm doing well,Im in the Dryad-Area just before the crystal with no deaths and only 14% of the map discovered. :) And I haven't bought anything.I built quite a good seraphim and so I'm at level 27 and this campaign has been very easy.

So after that,I'll delete my High Elf and start building it like you've said. :D

Oh,yeah...Awesome quote I know. :p

  • 2 months later...

imo this build isn't going to work or is gonna be a pain unless you plan on going past 100ish. i've also mainly used HE 1 arcane for the hell of it, dumped that idea, pyro is currently at 72 now. what i've noticed about HE tho is that theres going to be a shortage of points with the skills that go with HE. for instance your stats at 75, the fact that you have no points in any defensive skill raises a red flag right there, armor, shield, constitution (meaning your HE has practically NO hp). i also never understood why people put points into concentration right away, that 3rd buff isn't that helpful even if you are a 100% pyro. you aren't keeping pyrofocus at lvl, and ancient magic is better mastered sooner. theres just too much to juggle.

i also don't recommend the vitality att, it doesn't add anything significant which is why constitution is more important. also seeing a pyro wear the ancients set is kinda funny lol, but i see you're going for those boni, instead of the cedrahil. switch out the virgo helm (ranged wep...?) for the gloves (+all skills), use the ancient cowl (int, exp, grandinvig) instead of gloves (dex is ehh ok, cobalt strike iffy)

you correctly have you're mods right tho, but with fireball i only have 1, no need for 2-3 esp since they split a lot if you use blazing tempest. i guess since you stay away from stormite its pointless but, i notice that tends to be the 2nd are HE use, mod it with the focus for lots of enemy weakening. also need all 3 focus for runes

this is why you usually see wep based char as shoppers, there are also a bunch of TG out there not sure why tho, never used mine past 20.

didn't mean for my post to be this big. how far have you gotten on it?

  • 3 years later...

I gave up on this character after my hard drive failed twice and I had to start over... twice. I just came back after a long break because I was just too aggravated that I had lost so much progress... twice.

Well, guess what! I installed a solid state drive and now, no more hard drive failures! I recently went back to my over powered Dryad. Man, does she just plow through enemies!

  • 2 years later...

Thanks a lot for this guide!!

I finished Platinum difficulty at lvl 73 using this build except I left Concentration at lvl 1 and only used Incandescant Skin and Grand Invigoration. I also left out Enhanced Perception and am deciding on the last skill (can't decide between Spell Resistance and Combat Discipline).

Only downside is you spend soo much time shopping :p gets a bit tedious trying to find specific mods
