Does Difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, Some of the trophies requires a minimum difficulty (see trophy description for more details)

Hardware Required

Rock Band 3 is possibly the most expensive Platinum ever. You're going to need at the very least:

- 1 Guitar

- 1 Rock Band 2 / The Beatles Rock Band Drumset with the RB3 Cymbal expansion or Rock Band 3 Drumset

- 3 Microphones (almost any USB mic will do)

- 1 PRO Guitar (MadCatz Mustang or Fender Squier)²

- 1 Keyboard (you can unlock the ability to play regular Keys with the guitar, but you'll need the Keyboard to play Pro Keys)¹

¹: By 5-starring 50 songs on Medium Guitar (or 3-starring on a Higher difficulty) you'll unlock the ability to play the normal Keys with the guitar (2 trophies are related to Normal Keys), but you still need to play any song on the actual Keyboard for the trophy to pop after completing the goal using the guitar.

²: You can actually use the PRO Guitar to play Normal guitar and bass, but it will be much more difficult.

Roadmap

Intro

There are three easy trophies that you can get as soon as you start the game by callibrating your system, creating a character and giving a name for your band. Doing this will give you:

Tune Up

Self-Made Dude or Lady

Best. Name. Ever

Rock Band 3 doesn't have the traditional Career encountered on previous itterations of the series, so all of the remaining trophies will be divided in the three categories described below.

Trainers and Lessons

By succesfully completing the trainers and lessons for Pro instruments, you'll receive the following trophies:

Drum Trainer Initiate (Pro Drums)

Drum Trainer Graduate (Pro Drums)

Power Chords (Pro Guitar)

Complex Chords (Pro Guitar)

Pro Keys Graduate (Pro Keys)

IMPORTANT: You can use the "Pause/Rewind Trick" on all trainers and lessons. More details on the Trophy Description for "Pro Keys Graduate"

Road Challenges

New to the Rock Band franchise, Rock Band 3 brings you the Road Challenges. Each Road Challenge consists of a series of setlists that can be pre-defined, random or user created. Each setlist is attached to a specific goal (reach a certain note streak, deploy Overdrive as much as you can, etc).

By succesfully completing these goals you'll receive "Spades". The more Spades you get on a Challenge, more rewards you'll get at the end of the Challenge.

These are the goals you'll encounter on Road Challenges:

All For One: You have to hit almost every note on each section of a song. If you're playing in a band, all members must hit a high % of notes on each song.

Overdrive Chain: You must maintain overdrive (OD) for as long as possible. If you're playing solo, wait until your OD bar is full before activating it. If you're playing in a Band, you can alternate the activations, just make sure that at least one member has OD activated.

Overdrive Overload: You must activate OD as many times as possibles. As soon as you get a 50% bar, activate it.

Overdrive Streak: Here, you're rewarded for using Overdrive without breaking streak. Try to keep a streak while overdrive is activated. Only the first streak counts, so if you miss the first note after activating, you lose the entire activation.

Optimized Overdrive: You must activate your OD only when you're on the max multiplier (6x for Bass and 4x for all the other instruments).

Share The Spotlight: You have to keep a streak of notes when you're in the spotlight. If you're playing solo, the spotlight is always on you.

Streakmania: You (or another member of your band) have to keep a streak of notes.

TIP: You can do the Road Challenges on any difficulty. Try them on Easy or Medium if you're having trouble getting 5 Stars and/or 5 Spades.

The following trophies are related to Road Challenges:

Hometown Threwdown

Real Nor'easter

Wilderness Survival

Party Animal

Mile High Club

Hell Defrosted

Major Mileage

The Connoisseur's Connoisseur

Ultimate Road Warrior

Miscellaneous Trophies

These are the trophies related to specific instruments, star rating on songs among others, including the infamous Endless SetList III.

In the Trophies Section, these miscellaneous trophies will be separated by instrument.

See the description for each trophy for more information.

02.jpg Tune Up(B)

Callibrated your system for optimal performance with Rock Band 3.

When you first start the game you'll be asked to callibrate your system (you can calibrate later, in the Options Menu). Just callibrate automatically (if you have a guitar with this funcitionality), callibrate manually or enter the callibration numbers directly.

03.jpg Self-Made Dude or Lady(B)

Created a Character.

You can create a character as soon as you start the game by selecting Customize -> Create Character.

04.jpg Best. Name. Ever(B)

Renamed your band.

By default, your band name is your PS3 user name. Just rename it going to Customize -> Customize Band -> Edit Band Name to get this trophy.

Trainers and Lessons

42.jpg Pro Keys Graduate(B)

Completed the final Pro Keys trainers.

You only need to do the final set of lessons (Expert Lessons) for this trophy and you have to do them on 100% speed.

If you try to do this "legit", it will be real difficult and you'll need a lot of practice to memorize the hardest parts.

If you don't mind "cheating" a little bit, there's an "alternate" easy way of doing it:

As soon as you see the first note/chord coming up, pause the game. Now you have time to put your fingers in the right place. Un-pause the game and right after you hit the note/chord, pause again. Now you can reposition your fingers to hit the next note. Unpause the game and you'll see that each time the game "rewinds" the note track, but the notes that you've already hit disappear.

Just make sure to use the "pause and un-pause trick" until you see the note disappear before going to the next note.

If you miss a note (the percentage of notes hit flashes red), you'll have to start the lesson again. Press :left: or :right: to choose another lesson then go back to the lesson you are trying, thus restarting the lesson.

You can do this trick to hit all the notes in each trainer and get 100% on them. You'll probably gonna need a friend to help you by pressing :start: while you use your two hands on the keys, especially on those 4-note chords.

Here's a video explaining this method:

34.jpg Drum Trainer Initiate(B)

Completed the introductory Pro Drum Trainer lessons.

You'll need the Rock Band 2 or The Beatles Rock Band drumset with the RB3 Cymbal expansion kit or the Rock Band 3 drumset to play Pro Drums.

You must do these 3 sections (Easy Lessons):

- Introduction To The Kit (5 lessons)

- Basic Beats (5 lessons)

- Basic Fills (10 lessons)

You can use a partner to help you by doing the kick pedal. You can also use the pause/rewind exploit detailed in the Pro Keys Graduate trophy. You must do the Lessons on 100% speed.

35.jpg Drum Trainer Graduate(B)

Completed the final Pro Drum Trainer lessons.

You'll need the Rock Band 2 or The Beatles Rock Band drumset with the RB3 Cymbal expansion kit or the Rock Band 3 drumset to play Pro Drums.

You must do these 3 sections (Expert Lessons):

- Advanced Techniques (22 lessons)

- Advanced Beats (40 lessons)

- Advanced Fills (15 lessons)

You can use a partner to help you by doing the kick pedal. You can also use the pause/rewind exploit detailed in the Pro Keys Graduate trophy.

On some of the trainers (the hard ones), the pause/rewind exploit will be easier if you can get someone to help you by pressing the :start: button.

If you choose or are forced to do the trick alone, you'll probably need to use the face buttons on the drumset in order to hit 2 pads/cymbals and pause at the same time.

The buttons work as follow:

:square: Blue

:triangle: Yellow

:cross: Green

:circle: Red

You can't use the buttons to hit any of the cymbals or the bass pedal. But you can use one hand to hit the cymbals and the other hand to hit the pads on the buttons and press start. It's tricky, but doable.

I was able to get this trophy by myself using this method.

You must do the Lessons on 100% speed.

38.jpg Power Chords(B)

Completed the 'Power Chords' lessons in the Pro Guitar trainer.

You'll need a PRO Guitar for this. You can also use the pause/rewind exploit detailed in the Pro Keys Graduate trophy. You must do the Lessons on 100% speed.

39.jpg Complex Chords(B)

Completed the 'More Chord Holding and Arpeggiation' Pro Guitar lessons.

Miscellaneous Trophies

Any Instrument or Band

06.jpg You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet(B)

Maintained overdrive for 60 Seconds.

You can do this trophy alone in some songs, like "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars (DLC) or you can use 2 or more people in your band alternating the OverDrive (OD) activation. Here's how to do it:

Get 2 or more people in your band; all players can play on Easy. As soon as everyone has full OD, let the drummer or the vocalist activate first. Before his/her OD runs out, another player should activate theirs. The trick is to keep OD activated on only one player at a time.

Another easy way requires the song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" from Rock Band 1. You can play guitar on Easy. Wait until the first time you have a full bar, play 2 of the green notes then activate your overdrive. If you don't miss the following OD phrases, you'll get the trophy.

07.jpg Millionaire Club(B)

Got 1,000,000 on one song.

You can't get this one alone. You'll need at least a 2-person band, but it's easier with 3 or 4. It's recommended to have all the players on Hard or Expert. Choose a song that everyone can play without making too many mistakes.

Also, make sure that everyone activates overdrive at the same time, to increase the score multiplier.

08.jpg Rock Band Master(B)

5 Starred on Medium (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 50 Rock Band 3 songs.

See Rock Band Immortal

11.jpg Alex's Luggage Combination(B)

Beat a Rock Band 3 score of 12,345,678.

Don't worry, this is your band's accumulated score, so you can easily get this trophy just by playing the game.

09.jpg Rock Band Legend(S)

5 Starred every song in Rock Band 3 on Hard.

See Rock Band Immortal

10.jpg Rock Band Immortal(S)

5 Starred the Rock Band 3 disc on Expert.

There are 83 songs on Rock Band 3. You can use the No Fail modifier on the hardest songs, then you can save your Overdrive for sections where you can keep a good streak instead of using it to pass difficult sections.

If you're playing solo, you can get 5-stars on any song and it will count. If you're playing in a Band, only your Band stars count for the trophy, so make sure you get 5 star for the band (doesn't matter how much stars each individual player gets). Don't forget that every Band member must be on Expert too.

You can follow your progress by going to:

Career -> My Goals -> Rock Band -> Epic Rock Band 3 -> Rock Band Master

05.jpg The Endless Setlist III(G)

Successfully completed 'The Endless Setlist III'!

Unlike previous iterations of Rock Band, the Endless SetList is available to you right from the start by going to Career -> My Goals -> Rock Band -> Epic Rock Band 3.

You just have to complete it on any difficulty with any instrument. You can pause and take breaks between songs, but if you exit the SetList you'll have to start it all over again. You can use the No Fail modifier too, so it's not as difficult, just time consuming (about 6 or 7 hours).

Guitar

23.jpg Guitar Perfectionist(B)

Get 100% accuracy on Expert Guitar.

If you're not so good on guitar, you're gonna need to pick a low tier song and practice. I recommend "Low Rider", since it's very slow and easy even on Expert.

21.jpg HOPO-cidal Maniac(S)

Killed 53,596 Hammer-ons and Pull-offs.

You must do this on Guitar. Bass HOPOs does not count for this trophy. You can check your progress by going to Career -> My Goals -> Guitar -> Epic Guitar Goals.

If you play the game a lot, you'll get this eventually. If you wanna speed things up, you can play Guitar on Expert (use the No Fail, if necessary) and choose songs that have a lot of HOPOs, like:

Rock Band 3 songs:

Free Bird

Everybody Wants to Rule The World

In the Meantime

DLC:

Less Talk More Rokk by Freezepop

Imported from RB1:

Green Grass and High Tides by The Outlaws (easier if you have a Rock Band guitar, use the solo buttons)

IMPORTANT: HOPOs that you strum do not count for this trophy.

** Thanks to eburkulosis and Jaxelrod for the songs **

24.jpg Guitar Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Guitar (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

22.jpg Bleeding Fingers(S)

Get 85% on all Guitar Solos in Rock Band 3 on Hard or Expert.

There are 37 songs with Guitar Solos in Rock Band 3. If the song has more than one solo, you only have to get 85% on one of them. I recommend doing this on Hard, unless you're very good on guitar.

You can follow your progress and play the songs in:

Career -> My Goals -> Guitar -> Guitar Solo Goals

Pro Guitar

36.jpg Play a Real Guitar Already!(B)

Played 'The Hardest Button to Button' on Pro Guitar.

You'll need a PRO Guitar for this. You can use the "No Fail" modifier and still get the trophy.

37.jpg Pro Guitar to the Max(B)

Maxed out your Score Multiplier meter on Pro Guitar.

You'll need a PRO Guitar for this. Just keep hitting the notes without making a mistake until you reach the 4x multiplier.

An easy song for this trophy is "The Hardest Button to Button" on Easy Pro Guitar.

40.jpg Pro Guitar Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Pro Guitar (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

For most people, getting 3-star on Medium (with No Fail activated) is easier than to 5-star on Easy, altough on Medium you'll face some chords that should present a challenge if you're not familiar with real guitar.

I found this to be more manageable on Easy.

Bass

25.jpg Bass Streaker(B)

Get a streak of 500 notes on Bass.

You can get this trophy on any difficulty, but most of the songs don't have 500 notes on Easy or even Medium.

An easy song is "Smoke on the Water" on Medium. It has 532 notes.

See Most Authentic Strummer

26.jpg Most Authentic Strummer(B)

Hit 100% of the notes, only strumming up, on Hard Bass.

Just pick a low tier song on Hard or Expert Bass and try to hit all of the notes without making a mistake. Don't forget to only strum up.

Tip: The easiest on-disc song is "Imagine."

27.jpg Bass Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Bass (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count)

Pro Bass

33.jpg Pro Bass Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Pro Bass (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

For most people, doing 3-star on Medium (with No Fail activated) is easier than to 5-star on Easy.

Since Bass selldom has chords, it was a breeze getting 3 stars on Medium.

Drums

28.jpg Drum Roll, Please!(B)

Nailed a drum roll.

Drum roll is a new game mechanic on Rock Band 3. You'll need to play on Expert to get this one. It can't be done on Pro Drums. Just play "Low Rider" and you'll see a drum roll right after the cowbell section.

Ignore the green notes at the start (cowbell) and wait for the drum roll to come up. Just concentrate on the blue pad and use both drumsticks to hit the pad as fast as you can. You'll know if you nail the drum roll by looking at your multiplier. If you nailed it, you'll have a 3x multiplier. If you don't hit the pad fast enough you'll lose your streak at some point during the drum roll.

You'll need to complete the song to get the trophy.

29.jpg Fastest Feet(B)

Hit 90% of the Kick notes in a song on Hard Drums.

Using the No Fail modifier, choose any song on Hard and concentrate only on hitting the Kick Notes.

30.jpg Drums Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Drums (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

Keys

31.jpg Keys Streaker(B)

Get a streak of 350 notes on Keys.

This can be done in any difficulty. Just make sure that the song you're choosing has at least 350 notes on the difficulty you're playing. If you miss a note or "overstrum", you'll lose the streak and have to start from 0 again.

I recommend playing "Smoke on the Water" on Easy. If you keep a streak from the start until at least right before the Keyboard solo, you'll get the 350 notes. Just finish the song to get the trophy.

See the note on Keys Apprentice

32.jpg Keys Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Keys (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

**IMPORTANT: By 5-starring 50 songs on Medium Guitar (or 3-starring on a Higher difficulty) you'll unlock the ability to play the normal Keys with the guitar, but in order to get this trophy you'll have to play any song on the actual Keyboard afterwards.

Pro Keys

41.jpg Pro Keyboardist(B)

Hit at least 90% of the notes in 3 songs on Expert Pro Keys.

This one will need a little training since Expert Pro Keys are quite hard. Try to do this on 3 of the low tier songs on Pro Keys.

"Need You Tonight" is the easiest Pro Keys songs, since it's only the same chord repeating throughout the song, so it's a good starting point. Other recommended songs are:

Whip It

Werewolves of London

Before I Forget

Living in America

I did it on "Need You Tonight", "Whip It" and "Before I Forget"

43.jpg Pro Keys to the Max(B)

Max out your Score Multiplier meter on Pro Keys.

Just pick Easy Pro Keys and try to hit the notes without making a mistake until you reach a 4x multiplier.

44.jpg Pro Keys Apprentice(S)

5 Starred on Easy Pro Keys (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count). I think it's easier to 3-star the first 25 songs on Medium than it is to 5-star the same songs on Easy.

Turn "No Fail" on and just concentrate on the notes that you can consistently hit, don't try to hit all the notes if you're not good at Keys. Use your Overdrive wisely to maximize your points. You can get 3 stars with very low percentages (aroung 60 to 70%, depending on your OD usage).

Vocals

47.jpg Vocal Showmanship(B)

Deployed overdrive four times in a single song as a vocalist.

You can do this on almost any song (unless it's a really short song). Just try to activate the OD as soon as you get 50% on your bar.

48.jpg Tambourine Master(B)

Hit 100% of the notes in a percussion section.

Percussion section is that part where you have to tap the mic to hit the circle notes on vocals.

49.jpg Vocal Virtuoso(B)

Earn an Awesome rating on at least 90% of the phrases in 6 songs on Hard Vocals.

Choose 6 low tier songs for this one.

50.jpg Vocal Apprentice(B)

5 Starred on Easy Vocals (or 3 Starred on a higher difficulty) 25 Rock Band 3 songs.

Nothing too difficult. Just don't forget that it must be 25 songs out of the 83 on-disc songs (DLC and imported songs doesn't count).

Vocal Harmonies

45.jpg Triple Awesome(B)

Get a Triple Awesome while playing with Vocal Harmonies.

You'll need 3 microphones and, probably, 3 vocalists to hit a Triple Harmony part. You get a Triple Awesome when all the 3 players hit a phrase (section of the song) perfectly.

See Is This Just Fantasy?

46.jpg Is This Just Fantasy?(B)

Nailed all triple awesomes in 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

This one is quite hard too. You'll need 3 microphones and 3 people that can sing very well to get this trophy. Although the trophy description doesn't say it, you'll need to play at least on Medium to get the trophy.

There's an alternate method for this one, using one or two computers/audio players:

**BIG THANKS TO RYRYANROBO**

Place two microphone against two different computer or headphone speakers. Start up Bohemian Rhapsody on medium harmony vocals and just as the first line of the song is about to start press play on this video. Sing the blue part of the song and your other two microphones should be hitting the other sections. Providing you hit all your lines, the goal should unlock at the end of the song.

If you can't or don't want to sing the blue part and have another computer/laptop/audio player, you can use the video below to "sing" the blue part for you:

I had to restart a few times, trying to synchronize the 2 videos and adjust the volume and proximity of the mics and speakers. But I got the trophy using this method on a PC and a notebook, so it really works.

It's important to keep the speakers and mics far apart from each other, to prevent crosstalk.

If you're still struggling to get this trophy, here's a Detailed Breakdown on the way I did it

'Bout time somebody made a proper Rock Band 3 trophy guide. I'm already at 69% and hope to have at least 80% soon. Not only is this platinum hard but it's the most expensive platinum ever.

I used "Whip it" "Before I forget" and "Living In America" for the Pro Keyboardist trophy and "Space Oddity" for the drum roll please trophy.

I'm about to attempt The Endless Setlist III. Wish me luck so that the game won't quit to the xmb and make me have to start over. Do you get bronze silver, gold or platinum icons online for whichever difficulties you play the setlist on like there were in RB2? If so will I still get one if I change difficulties in the middle of the setlist or if I change instruments?

Unfortunately, unlike Rock Band 1 and 2, you don't get vinyl, gold or platinum icons anymore.

FYI Pro Guitar is available in the US. I got mine yesterday and should have the plat today.

Also - the Pause/Rewind Exploit works for all instruments all modes (not so well with drums though) But can be used to perfect a song, get 85% on solos, get through Pro Guitar or Keyboard Trainers, etc.

For HOPOcidal Maniac the best song by far is:

Freezepop - Less Talk More Rokk (purchased in music store)

There are 1200 HOPOs in the song, I could only average 500-700 per song. In the end I had to play the song over and over 92 straight times for the 53,000 HOPOs required.

There are 1200 HOPOs in the song, I could only average 500-700 per song. In the end I had to play the song over and over 92 straight times for the 53,000 HOPOs required.

Thanks for the tips.

I know about the "Less Talk More Rokk", but since it's a DLC music (altough it's cheap) I didn't included it on the guide.

I understand the need to platinum a game right away, but I'm sure you would get the HOPO-cidal trophy with time just by playing the game normally.

I also know about the Mustang, but I don't like it. I'll probably wait for the Fender Squier. Since the game advertises the possibility of learning to play "Real Guitar", I might as well wait until a Real Guitar is made available. ;)

Just read that, from the new patch coming today for PS3:

-Pause Scoring Exploit – To prevent abuse of repeated pausing mid-song to pad a score, we now disable score reporting on any song in which a player repeatedly pauses. Your crowd meter should go grey and you will not be able to complete any goals or achievements tied to score during that play through.

I don't know if this affects the Keys Trainer exploit too. I'll see if I can try it tonight

I'm so glad you told me that. I didn't update the patch and did the pause technique and I got the Pro Keys Graduate trophy. It's not too hard if you pause inbetween every note, you just gotta be quick and time it right.

I beat the Endless Setlist 3 last night. It took alot longer than I expected. I think it was like 8 or 9 hours. I finished at like 6am but I was messin' around on my laptop inbetween songs. It's too bad you don't get vinyl, gold or platinum icons for beating it.

Now I'm at 79%. This platinum isn't as hard as it seems, It's mostly just expensive. The only thing holding me back from the platinum now is the lack of a pro guitar the pro drum cymbals and 2 microphones. Is there any way to get the Triple Awesome trophy with just 1 microphone? What are the cheapest RB3 compatible microphones?

Trust me, you wont get HOPOcidal Maniac playing normally. Not unless you casually play Free Bird on Expert Guitar...a lot! Plus I have a bad habit of stumming HOPOs at times and that hurt me a little.

I just got the plat yesterday though :D

Yeah the Pause/Rewind Exploit for songs is gone with the new patch so if you are trying to get 25 songs with 3-stars on Medium or 5-stars on Easy you will not be able to use this exploit to finish songs (like on pro keys and pro guitar) Not only does it set your score to 0 but it also sets your stars to 0

Vocal Harmonies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/435/45.jpgTriple Awesome(B)

Get a Triple Awesome while playing with Vocal Harmonies.

You'll need 3 microphones and, probably, 3 vocalists to hit a Triple Harmony part. You get a Triple Awesome when all the 3 players hit perfectly a phrase (section of the song).

See Is This Just Fantasy?

What I did for this one actually was to play "Centerfold" with 3 mics. Going through the chorus pretty much guaranteed me the trophy. =D

How do you play "Pro Bass"? I don't see a peripheral for it, but I also can't play it on my normal, 5-button guitar.

You use the 6-string Pro Guitar. Just the bottom 4 strings though. Kinda stupid imo, but at least Harmonix isn't insanely gouging us with all these new peripherals we need in order to get trophies by making two separate instruments for Pro Guitar & Bass:dance:

  • 2 weeks later...

Kinda disappointed that you need to invest so much money to get the platinum.

I mean, one the one hand, I love playing games. On the other, I'm definitely a bit of a Trophy collector. Though in my defense, I'm not as bad as a few friends of mine (including one that pretty just has one night stands with his games until he has the trophies then moves on to the next one).

So I'm a bit torn. I enjoy the Rock Band series. It's really fun. I would like to get RB3, especially to try out the keyboard. But I know I'll never get the platinum and that kinda irks me a little.

I think the best song for the HOPO trophy is easily Green Grass and High Tides...

I DON'T play Guitar in my group, I'm usually vocals/keyboard... we actually don't have a guitarist in our group, because guitar is not fun. I'm also the one obsessive about trophies. So I can't play any guitar song on anything higher than medium.

With GG&HT, turn NO FAIL mode on, and pretty much sit back and relax until you get the solos (there are two of them, and they take up about 70% of the song). During the solos, just do arpeggios on the lower frets (if you have an RB guitar). During the solos, with the lower frets, you don't have to strum. Any HOPOs you hit during a solo, count towards the goal, even if you didn't strum a previous note.

Doing this, I get about 1400 HOPOs a run... and I dont know how to play Guitar.

I don't know if this is considered playing normally or grinding but I am currently at 47k HOPOs and have just been going down my list of songs playing the ones I haven't played on Rock Band 3. Kinda playing normally but my main goal is to get the HOPOs. I couldn't imagine playing a song 92 times though. You're more hardcore than I am dude. Lol
