weapon setup and customization

Hello guys,

I am enjoying this great game, so far I did not have much trouble but I am starting to think about weapon setup. I am in chapter 9. I like dual MGs but only have 2 so far so I am using MG for V and Z and dual HG for L.

I was wondering what would be good setup for future. What I have in my mind is

dual MGs for V and MG for Z with the bullet case and dual HG for L in some cases replacing one weapon for first aid.

does it sound right?

as well I was looking and some customization ideas and it seems the one that would work for me would be getting guns to around 150-160 CS and 60-70% AS.

Any comments, other ideas?

as well I have managed to connect 1.5x exp and 1.5 drop rate to arena in chapter 7 and I am working to collect 55 blue straight energy hexes to connect the tower that doubles effect of others. Is there better place to farm those energy hexes than killing those chunky gungsters in closed roads in level 4? btw I do it on the energy hexes that 1.5 drop rate, it is not bad but borring as hell as drop rate and chance to spawn those mobs is not that great.

I used the following setup for my 3 characters:

MG x 2

MG + first aid

HG x 2

For customization I used the top 2 rows for scopes and everything else was barrels, which if I recall correctly gave me numbers in the ranges you described. I never really used the first aid at all except for having access to escape hexes after completing an area. I also preferred not having to worry about remembering to change gear before entering a fight and was more like safety insurance in case anything went horribly wrong. Some people swear by the bullet case but I got through the entire game without using it and without any problems whatsoever (cleared out neverland starting at levels 100).

the fencers and gunman in mine 24 on level 11 are great for farming the long blue hexes you need.

as for customization you want to use the long scopes or high mount elites on the top and use as many barrels and sub barrels for AS. 60-70% AS is not going to happen though, you dont have enough room to attach enough barrels to get it that high. to get the most out of your weapons you want CS at 150 or more and CS at 30%.

The image for the NP.05 Golden is suboptimal. You can get better stats by changing to a telephoto lens in the upper top left and the bottom configuration should change to an expander grip/adapter foregrip setup instead of 2 expander grips and adding the expander grip below the MG magazine +8. I can go into more detail if you want, but the stats will change to: 163 67 97 90 23. It's not that much better but it is an improvement.

I also had the following stats for PDW-XN.V3 (150 57 99 94 23) and 1191.45 Golden (148 72 95 99 12). If you can't find a better setup for those guns lemme know and I can tell you what to do. The weapon customization was one of my favorite things in this game - I spent a lot of time tinkering with them.

great stuff there TigreBoo. Well, the setup I have shown is more for end stage of the game. I am trying to use it for other weapons that are available for me now at chapter 10. I lack some components but it looks good and as I said I did not have much problem with anything yet. I am not using first aid even, sometimes for boss fights I use the bullet case. I am really waiting for other MG gun now as the one from Dakota Vein is so much better than the starting one and it seems V can't output as much scratch dmg than Z.

Guys what are the small scopes on right side of magazine? I am in chapter 13 and can't make them but as far as I remember FAQ says I should be able to make every part already...
ah i forget their name (something like compact scope lens), and ill look it up, but for now you should be able to get those parts or have at least one of them by 13. i think u get one from a mission. of course maybe it's just a tinkered item. yeah im going to go turn on my ps3 and find out. one sec.

lol so after i checked it looks like i thought way too much into this. they're called "Rookie Sights" or "Dot Sights" for the upgraded versions. both i think you can buy directly from a shop owner but at the very least you can get rookie sights for cheap guaranteed. they are available immediately in the beginning of the game. not the best sights in the world but they might be all that u can use in that area.

[EDIT]

hmmmm I have checked all the shops and tinkers and I cant make that dot sight... why?

you mean the rookie sight or the other one?

The best pieces that can go there are the rookie sights with +6 CS and 4 weight. The dot sights have +5 CS and weight 2 I think, but since the weight difference is completely meaningless at higher levels then just purchase the rookie sights from any shop.

Has anyone filled the entire grid with gun accesories?

I don't know if that's even possible, would be a great achievement though. I have one that has only 3 blank squares left:

For what it's worth, here are my other weapon customizations:
