To obtain S Rank on each chapter, you need at least:

S Rank*3 among these 4 results and the other could be only S or A.

Commentaries:

 

1. No continue and no damage don't affect your rank result. But if you die during the game, it'll be sure that your clear time will add.

 

2. For S ranks on Hard and Very Hard, i suggest that during the 1st playthrough, focus only on the headshot. Unfortunaly, there are not statistics during the game except the game score. So remember correctly how many headshots you've got is very important. While you get the minimum for the Headshot S Rank, you can kill the zombies as you want.

 

3. Use the checkpoint to replay the next sections of the chapter in order to avoid a waste of time. In REDC, it's annoying that we can't retry directly from the checkpoint without quiting the current game.

 

4. There are the chapters in which the S rank for Game Score or Headshot are so strict. For example, Chapter 3 of RE2, it's too difficult to get enough headshot. So at the beginning just focus on the headshot and ignore the attack of zombies.

 

5. There aren't quite difference between HARD and VERY HARD. So i suggest that you play HARD at first to upgrade your weapon, especially Submachine Gun and Shotgun.

 

6. After completing this game on 100%, i found that the chapters of RE2 are more difficult than the other 2 to get S Rank. Because in RE2, the zombies are weaker.

It would be a nice addition to note that the lower your health the more points every enemy you defeat is worth. I used this in Chapters where defeating every enemy still would not amass the required score needed unless you did headshots combos. Usually after a checkpoint I would allow my self to be injured, to maybe I had 40% HP, then after a few enemies my score would soar effortlessly. Considering that the game has to be replayed so much, this would come in handy for those who got the headshots required in a given Chapter, but don't wish to go through that effort again when replaying it for the sake of the score.

Thanks in advance for amassing the necessary numbers and such. This'll definitely come in handy when I tackle the S-rank trophy.

 

The lower health=greater score for killed enemies Neophenom pointed out will hopefully come in handy as well. I'll have to get in the practice of getting used to keeping a slightly lower health bar when I get hit in preparation for this.

Although I'm very late to the party, I wanted to thank you for the effort you put into gathering this info. Being able to plan ahead the score and the headshots required reduced the tediousness of having to go through the same chapters multiple times. Neophenom's tip is awesome too and it's pretty much mandatory you go around with little heath in some chapters, as a few of them have a strict score requirement. Definitely the most helpful thread in the RETDC forums :)
