Is S+ possible on Co-Op?

Yes!

  • I recommend to do this with 2 human players only. The more human players you have, the harder it is to get S+.
  • Only one single player can get S+ per playthrough. This is based on the fact that the Collectibles will only count for the one player who is collecting them. Unfortunately, there are not enough for both players.
  • Player 1 (who wants S+) plays as Spectre to find the collectibles faster.
  • Player 2 (the helper) plays as Bertha - The Medic. Choose her active ability called 'Neutralize Infection' to cure your teammate from turning into a zombie.
  • Player 1 (who wants S+) has to get all collectibles. This includes the intel and cameras. You should also access all computer terminals at least once.
  • You should play on professional difficulty. This will greatly improve your chances to get S+.
  • Playing with a headset is a good idea, but not neccessary.
  • Tip: Bertha - The Medic always spawns with 1 health spray. Kill and revive her if you want to get healed.

Is S+ possible on Co-Op Veteran?

Yes!

However, your chances to get S+ are very low and I do not recommend trying this. You would need to beat all the targets with ~150% of their displayed scores and you would have to find absolutely every single collectible. Check out the above mentioned points for more details.

Is S+ possible on Solo Veteran?

Yes!

However, your chances to get S+ are very low, even if you get S/S/S/S. You would have to find every single collectible and exceed all target scores with such a perfect score that it is more difficult than playing on professional. I do not recommend trying it on veteran! It is much harder than playing on professional right away.

Do I have to get S/S/S/S in order to get S+?

No!

At least not when playing solo on professional difficulty. However, you should beat some requirements with a really good score (much better score than the minimum requirements).

You can still get S+ when you have B/S/S/S (doesn't matter in which category you get B).

Example:

Kills: 90 of 110 - B

Deaths: 0 of 3 - S+

Collectibles: All from this mission (cams, intel, pc's) - S+

Clearing Time: 25:00 of 35:00 - S+

Note: The game does not display S+ in in any categories, but it still realizes if you barely got S in a category or if you beat the requirements with a much better score.

This won't work if you get a C or D in any category.

Does the timer stop if I access the pause menu?

Yes!

You can stay in the pause menu as long as you want. It won't affect your score for the clearing time in any negative way.

Do the deaths of teammates matter?

No!

Kill them whenever you want. Sometimes it can give you a tactical advantage to take out your allies.

Does the use of green herbs and health sprays matter?

No!

It has absolutely no effect on your final score. Make sure you always pick up all health items before moving on to the next area.

What's the easiest way to get S+?

Well, that's probably the most important question if you are planning on getting platinum in this game.

It depends on your gameplay style. I recommend to do it Solo on Professional difficulty. The game recognizes that you chose the technical hardest challenge and is more likely to reward you with S+.

In Co-Op you would need to do everything at least twice if you want to help each other out. This is a lot more time consuming and on some mission it's actually counter productive.

In the beginning you might think it is impossible and so did I. Truth is, that it's getting easier with each mission as you understand how the game works.

Since you have to get tons of XP for several other trophies I would also recommend to do 3 complete playthroughs before going for S+. Maybe one on casual, one on professional co-op and one on professional solo. Believe me, it won't hurt!

Solo:

  • You should play all missions as Spectre (except Mission 5). Fully upgrade all his passive abilities. This helps a lot to find the collectibles faster.
  • Since Spectre is one of the weakest characters in combat you might want to try it with Lupo instead. Follow the Video Walkthroughs below to find the Collectibles or play the mission with Spectre at least once and remember where the collectibles are located.
  • If you choose to play as Lupo then max out her passive abilities and use her active ability called Super Soldier.
  • Always use the following weapons: Juggernaut + Samurai Edge
  • The Juggernaut is perfect against all enemies on short ranges.
  • The Samurai Edge is the best pistol in the game. Shoot out of cover if your health is low.
  • You do not always have to fight your enemies! Sometimes it makes a lot more sense to evade tricky combats. Just move on to the next checkpoint, but keep in mind that you have to beat certain kill target scores. So do not skip every battle.
  • Try to skip the fights against hunters. Fighting them takes too long and you might get yourself killed. If you have to fight hunters then run in circles around them. They tend jump around a lot and will probably not hit you then.
  • Use a stopwatch to keep an eye on your current playtime (e.g. Free Online Stopwatch).

Co-Op:

  • I recommend to do this with 2 human players only. The more human players you have, the harder it is to get S+.
  • Only one single player can get S+ per playthrough. This is based on the fact that the Collectibles will only count for the one player who is collecting them. Unfortunately, there are not enough for both players.

You will only have to fight soldiers and cerberus dogs in this mission. Just shoot everything that moves. There is no real strategy required in this mission since it is really easy and straight forward. Use the Samurai Edge to shoot out of cover. To make your shots more accurate aim out of cover for 2-3 seconds and quickly shoot one enemy. When the mutated boss appears you will need to run away from him. Just shoot his eye (on his right shoulder) if he tries to tackle you.

In this mission you will fight normal zombies, soldiers and meet lickers for the first time (the lickers do not need to be killed). You have more than enough time, so don't feel rushed. Getting 150 kills is a little difficult without farming them.

There are 2 hard parts in this mission:

First one is the ambush where you have to fight 3 waves of soldiers. Take out the first two waves quickly and try to keep your teammates alive. Use your grenades against group 3 and always stay behind cover.

The other tricky part is where you have to fight more soldiers in some sort of hallway, before you enter the room where you have to destroy the plans. Fight your way through the left hallway (there should be a health spray in one of the rooms). Don't worry about the right hallway. Once the left hallway is cleared, throw a couple of flashbangs and rush to the next checkpoint. In the room with the lickers, simply grab the key in the middle and do not fight the lickers at all. Right after the room with the lickers you can farm some more kills to reach the target of 150. An infinite amount of slow walking zombies will spawn here and they are fairly easy targets.

In this mission you will fight normal zombies, crimson heads, soldiers, a boss called Nicholai and meet hunters for the first time (but you do not have to kill the hunters).

There are three tricky parts:

When you meet the hunters inside the burning building just rush through the area instead of fighting them.

When fighting Nicholai (the sniper boss) stay right under the balcony and keep shooting him with your samurai edge. Do not use grenades on him, it's a waste of time.

The final part in some sort of machine room is by far the hardest. Fortunately, you are allowed to die 3 times. After activating the first console your rush right to the next target. Stay behind the generator and kill the two soldiers. Activate generator #1 and activate the console that is down the stairs. Immediately turn to your right and throw a flashbang + grenades in the room where soldiers are coming out. Make sure you pick up the green health spray. Run directly to the next generator and console and activate them. Now rush to generator #3 and activate it.

In this mission you will have to fight normal zombies, crimson heads, Parasites, Parasite Zombies, the Nemesis boss and you will meet a Tyrant for the first time (the tyrant does not have to be killed).

This mission is actually not that hard. The hardest part is to get the required amount of kills in solo mode. Make sure you kill all enemies in the graveyard, all enemies in the garage (right after the graveyard) and farm some more kills in the area where you have to open a door by activating two terminals (towards the end of the mission, in the area where all the parasite zombies are).

The nemesis boss fight is fairly easy because there are tons of health sprays and green herbs in this area. Stay on the platform where you end up after the cutscene and shoot nemesis with the Samurai Edge until he moves on. Once the soldiers come in, go down to the ground floor and stay behind crates while shooting nemesis. Playing as spectre helps a lot in here! It will show you orange dots on your mini map when zombies are moving towards your location. Just keep an eye on this mini map to make sure you are not attacked from behind. Once Nemesis is going down, inject the virus immediately. Do not wait too long, or he will recover!

Here we go... you have now reached the hardest mission in the game. Here you will fight against large groups of normal zombies, lickers, hunters, soldiers, two tyrants, one cerberus (the zombie dog) and some crimson heads.

What makes this mission so hard? Well, probably the type and amount of enemies (e.g. the hunters and soldiers with sniper rifles) and it's hard to beat the time target. Furthermore, you are only allowed to die once, which requires some skill.

I strongly recommend that you play this mission as Lupo. Do one or two runs with Spectre on casual in order to find and remember all the collectibles. Make sure that Lupo has fully maxed out passive abilities and select the active ability called super soldier. This will make you immortal for a short period of time which helps to rush through some specific areas.

Rush through the following areas (activate super soldier and ignore all enemies):

After fighting the lickers in the garage, grab the intel in the next area and run straight to the next checkpoint.

Soon after the above mentioned scenario, you will fight some more soldiers in a wide open area. After some while lots of hunters will be deployed. Once the hunters are deployed grab all the intel and green herbs you can and rush straight to the next checkpoint.

Now comes the hardest part that is nearly impossible when playing as spectre. Towards the end of the mission, right before the battle against the two tyrants, you will have to fight some hunters. After the hunters are dead, you must wait for your super soldier ability to recharge and then rush through all the soldiers and zombies to the next checkpoint where the final tyrant fight will start. Fighting the soldiers takes too long and rushing through with Spectre will probably get you killed.

The two tyrants are easy. Just walk in circles around one of them and let your teammates work on the other one. It took me 3 minutes to kill them with the Juggernaut.

Alternatively, you can try out the flamethrower for the tyrant fight. It does great damage and can take them out relatively fast. The flamethrower is in a weapon locker case on the far left before fighting the hunters.

Here is a list of intel and computers in this mission:

#1 - when the mission starts turn around. Intel is behind an old couch near a fire.

#2 - after going down the wooden planks search for an alleyway to your right. Intel is behind a container and in front of an explosive barrel.

#3 - when the dog is attacking you go to the end of the road. Intel is behind a burning police car.

#4 - in front of the police chief's office on a tiger statue.

#5 - in the police chief's office on the right side, in a cupboard where the mounted deer heads are.

#6 - after fighting the lickers when you are in the police station's entrance hall. Look on a long wooden table with a computer terminal.

#7 - [computer terminal] on the same table as the last intel

#8 - after heading outside, where you can hear a helicopter. Go all the way to the left and look on the last park bench in the corner.

#9 - in the parking garage where you will have to fight lots of lickers. After you enter and watched the cutscene with Leon look behind the second green container on your left.

#10 - after exiting the parking garage, head straight for a couple of meters. Intel is in front of a van, near a yellow metal barrier with the shopping cart right next to it.

#11 - in the same area as the before mentioned intel. Look for a large structure in the middle of the area that looks like a bus stop. Intel is on a bench next to an explosive barrel.

#12 - after fighting the first hunters in this mission you will enter an alleyway. The first chance you get, turn slightly left and the intel is in a corner of a wall (where another hunter is being deployed).

#13 - after dropping down to the next area, the intel is right in front of a weapons crate (next to an anti viral spray).

#14 - in the same area as above. After fighting the spec ops soldiers, run straight ahead and into a building. Here you will find an intel along with a green health spray.

#15 - [computer terminal] in same area as the last two intel. The computer is sitting on some crates in front of the Stagla gas station.

#16 - after fighting your way through two hallways full of zombies go straight and look between a green container, a wooden lantern and a shopping cart.

#17 - move on to the next waypoint and look behind a red container. It's just a couple meters away from the last intel.

#18 - after fighting the next 4-5 spec ops soldiers in the area with all the broken cars look in a briefcase on the ground in front of the 3 small stairs that will lead you to the next waypoint.

#19 - after the last intel you will fight 5-6 spec ops soldiers. The intel is in the corner of a 1 meter high stone wall surrounding a huge tree, between a set of 2 x 2 green boxes and near an ammo crate.

#20 - after fighting the hunters. Look behind a car wreck, slightly left of where the first hunter has been deployed.

#21 - [computer terminal] While heading on to the next couple of waypoints, take a look to your left in the area where all the soldiers are. It's sitting on some green boxes.

In this mission you will fight normal zombies, crimson heads, parasites, parasite zombies, lickers, soldiers and the super tyrant boss. You will also encounter hunters, but they can be ignored.

Compared to the other missions this one is really easy. You have tons of green herbs and health sprays and the target score for S+ is fairly easy to beat. If you just finished mission 5, this will be a piece of cake.

There is only one tricky part:

After using the first elevator you will need to 'pursue the infiltrator'. Here you will need to make your way through a hallway that has multiple mines mounted on the walls. First, shoot the explosive barrels and the first couple of mines. Quickly move forward from cover to cover (run & jump works well to evade the gunfire). Shoot the rest of the mines with blindfire while staying in cover. Try to get this done quickly, otherwise you might get killed by one of the grenades the infiltrator is throwing at you.

The bossfight against the super tyrant is not hard, but takes some time. It consists of two parts. During the first part the super tyrant is less aggressive. Just keep moving in big circles while shooting his orange glowing lava heart with the juggernaut. Once that part is done you have to fight a couple of lickers. Try to kill them before they reach the elevator, because you don't want to waste your health in close combat against them. In the second and final phase of the bossfight you basically do what you did before. Keep shooting the lava heart and do not try to revive your teammates. Ignore any fallen teammates during the course of the entire boss fight, it could cost you your life otherwise.

In this mission you will fight normal zombies, spec ops soldiers, large groups of crimson heads and two of your teammates at the very end. Leon does not have to be killed and you should choose to defend him. That's one less enemy you need to worry about which will save time and most importantly prevent you from dying. I recommend that you play this mission as Vector. Make sure you have his active camouflage ability and both passive abilities maxed out. Play the mission at least once as spectre to find and remember the intel locations or follow the video below. You will have to collect 8 out of 8 intel in this mission to get an S in the 'items collected' category.

The target scores are not that hard to beat if you have completed all previous missions with S+. The only thing that may prove difficult is the 150 kills. You can farm them at the end before climbing up the ladder that will trigger the final cutscene.

There are 2 tricky parts in this mission:

When you get shot by the two grenade launchers, a large group of zombies will attack you. Quickly shoot the explosive barrel after the cutscene. You should be able to see it while looking in the direction of the large group of zombies. The explosion will take out most of them already. Get into cover and shoot the other zombies with your juggernaut. After that take out the two spec ops soldiers on the rooftop.

The other tricky part is where Leon is trying to snipe you. This part is one of the reasons why you should choose vector for this mission. Activate his camouflage and take cover behind the barricade that is surrounding the spec ops soldiers. You have to make one soldier bleed to make the zombies destroy the barricade. The juggernaut will quickly do this job. Camp here until your camouflage is fully recharged and run to the back of the area where one raccoon city mascot and an ammo box are located. Leon can't shoot you here. Just keep killing zombies and spec ops soldiers until you are out of ammo. Once you think you got the 150 kills, climb up the ladder to trigger the final sequence of the game.

This "bossfight" is actually very easy compared to the others. You only have to take out two of your former comrades which is no big deal due to the amount of ammo, green herbs and health sprays in this area. Remember to pick up both of the intels in here before killing your comrades. CQC can quickly take them out, but it can also be dangerous if they perform a CQC chain on you (this will kill you instantly). Play it safe and stay in cover or activate the camouflage and kill them with CQC from behind.

Here is a list of intel and computers in this mission:

#1 - soon after the mission starts you will encounter a single zombie. Look in front of the bin, right next to the zombie.

#2 - After the first cutscene look for a green herb. Near the green herb is an intact car with a yellow light on top. On the rear of the car is the intel.

#3 - After killing the first sniper, you will go down a set of stairs. Intel is in the open container to your right.

#4 - at the end of the container section and before fighting the 2 soldiers on the ground. Intel is inside an open container.

#5 - this intel is very close to the last one. When moving towards the next checkpoint (where you encounter the two soldiers on the ground) look on the back of a car that has a yellow light on top.

#6 - [computer terminal] after killing the two soldiers and before you go through a section of the freight train. The computer is sitting on top of a forklift.

#7 - [computer terminal] in the next area you will get shot by grenade launchers. Look on top of the building where the soldiers were standing.

#8 - after you drop down to the area with all the mines, turn around and look near the front wheel of a car.

#9 - in the area where you fight or defend Leon. Look for a forklift near a weapon chest and a green herb. The intel is right next to the green herb.

#10 - also in the area where you fight or defend Leon. This intel is on a box at the spawn point of the killers.

Congratulations if you completed all missions with S+ :applause:

The enemies are listed in the order they appear in the game.

Spec Ops Soldier:

Soldiers appear in every mission of the game. They can withstand a lot of damage for human beings and can use all sorts of weapons. You should stay in cover when fighting them. The Samurai Edge is very effective.

Cerberus:

Those are infected dogs. They appear in mission 1 for the first time. You won't encounter many of them during the course of the campaign. Try to kill them with a shotgun before they reach you.

William Birkin:

The boss of mission 1.

Just run away from him. When he tries to tackle you shoot the eye on his right shoulder.

Zombie:

Those are the normal walkers. You will find them in Missions 2-7. They are easy targets and good to farm some kills. Just stay away a couple meters so they do not grapple you. Shotguns are very effective against them.

Spec Ops Zombie:

These are spec ops soldiers who have been infected by zombies. They can withstand more damage as usual zombies, due to their bulletproof vest. Shoot them with your juggernaut shotgun if they run towards you. (Thanks to blazenarutoshippuden)

Licker:

Lickers appear in mission 2 for the first time. They generally attack with their tongues, but can also cause a lot of damage with their claws. If a licker grapples you with its tongue you should try to break out quickly if you do not want to get infected. Always stay a couple meters away from them and use your shotgun. Walking in circles around them helps to evade their attacks.

Bomb Zombie:

Bomb zombies do only appear during mission 3. They look like normal zombies, but have an explosive charge stuck around their heads. Stay away and shoot the explosive charge with your samurai edge to make them (and other nearby zombies) explode. (Thanks to blazenarutoshippuden)

Crimson Head:

Those are more aggressive zombies and they appear in mission 3 for the first time. They barely appear in large groups. Normal zombies can turn into crimson heads after loosing diverse limbs. While they turn into a crimson head they will be covered in some sort of red fog. Try to kill them before they mutate. Shotguns are very effective.

Hunter:

Hunters appear in mission 3 for the first time. Their skin looks stony. They have large claws and jump around a lot.

They are aggressive, agile and very strong. Try to avoid them whenever you can. In the sections where you have to fight them use your Juggernaut shotgun and shoot while walking in circles. This is giving you a good chance that they won't hit you with their jump attacks.

Nicholai Ginovaef:

The boss of mission 3.He has a sniper rifle and throws frag grenades.Just stay right under the balcony and shoot him with your Samurai Edge whenever you have the chance. He won't be able to shoot you there.

Tyrant:

There are a total of 3 tyrants during the campaign. They look like 12 feet high dead humans. The first one appears in mission 4 and can be ignored. At the end of mission 5 you will have to fight two of them. Use your Juggernaut shotgun and walk in circles while shooting.

Parasite:

Parasites look like spiders and appear in mission 4 and 6. The parasites are weak theirselves, but they can turn normal zombies into Parasite zombies (see description below). Shotguns are very effective.

Parasite Zombie:

Parasite zombies appear in mission 4 and 6. Those are normal zombies that got infected by one of the above mentioned spiders. They are very agressive and agile. Shoot their legs or aim for the parasite on the head. Shotguns are very effective.

Nemesis:

The boss of mission 4.

He has a minigun with infinite ammo and looks similar to the tyrants. Stay on distance and shoot him with your Samurai Edge.

Super Tyrant:

The boss of mission 6.

He looks like a tyrant with lava skin and big claws. When fighting him you will be trapped on an elevator. Walk in circles while shooting his orange glowing lava heart with the juggernaut shotgun.

Leon S. Kennedy:

You will have the choice to kill or defend Leon at the end of mission 7. If you choose to kill him you will also have to face two of your former comrades. Leon can take a lot more damage than your teammates can. Take out all the other enemies first. Shoot him with your Samurai Edge while staying in cover or make use of the grenade launchers in this area.

You have to go over the target goals but your time and deaths has to be under the target goal. Only the kills and items collected must over the target.

OMG, I did not know, that the Juggernaut is so powerful. I finished the first 2 mission yesterday, i was doing mission 3, when i saw your guide. After finishing M3 S+, i bought Juggernaut and it was wonderful, S+-ed mission 4 on the first run, with Spectre. Thank You!

Looking forward to see the last two level! I was wondering which is easier in the final mission: Executing or helping Leon?

Powerpyx thank you so much for participating in my first trophy guide for this game. If you check it later you will see the Great Success area has a good dedication to you and links to your profile and your thread. Thanks a bunch man n.n

On addition for the Juggernaut gun, I haven't tested which one works faster but the flamethrower in Expendables for the 3 tyrant fight works SPLENDID and takes them down super faster. Just thought maybe you'd like to add that or try it in case people don't have the Juggernaut.

This is really a terrific guide. I only need Gone Rogue S+ for plat, but this will be really helpful to people who are struggling. That being said, in my opinion the Riot Gun is better than the Juggernaut. I've done S+ runs with both and it just seems like the Riot Gun is more accurate, has better range, and does more damage. Perhaps it's just personal preference.

One thing you may want to add is that you can use the Flamethrower on the Hunters in Expendable. I didn't watch the video, so maybe you did use it. I did read that you used the Juggernaut on the Tyrants, which probably isn't the best strategy. I think it's safer and faster to keep the Flamethrower from the Hunter battle. Be careful though, because as stated in the guide the Hunter battle is the hardest part. If you die after picking up the Flamethrower then you won't be able to pick it up again.

Wow, thanks :)

Glad it helps!

I didn't know that there is a flamethrower in this mission

I still need some XP for my platinum trophy and will replay this chapter with your method. Thanks a lot for telling me. I will check it out, add it to the guide and give credit to you.

Absolutely true what you are saying. The riot gun is also a really really good weapon and in some situations it might be the better choice. Overall I prefer the juggernaut because of its awesome rate of fire and short reload time. I think it's more reliable against large groups of enemies.

And also thanks for pointing out the flamethrower trick. Like I stated above: I will need to check that out. Didn't know that there is one in this mission.

The flame through is to the far left weapon locker case before you trigger the hunters dropping in. I'll wait until you killed the hunters before opening it because if they killed you and you had the flamethrower. you'll lose it before you can you can take it with you for the tyrants. plus you only got one shot at the tyrants so it you failed that head shooting and die then you lost the flame thrower for the fight as well.

I have just three questions.

1. Can this be done using Free Play and in any order?

2. Does getting the S+ trophy automatically unlock the normal S trophy along with it?

3. Can you defend and kill the traitors in the last mission or do you have to kill Leon?

1. Yes, free play and any order.

2. Yes! You will get both trophies.

3. It doesn't matter, but I do strongly recommend to defend Leon. This way you only have to kill your two comrades. If you choose to kill Leon you will have to fight him and he can withstand a lot of damage.

Plus it'll count against you if you he kills you and it also takes longer in time to kill him. Definitely always go with defend.
