ROADMAP

1) Play through the game once, by yourself or with a partner(s), using any character you'd like.

As there aren't any difficulty related trophies this time around, feel free to play on Normal or Hard difficulty, picking whatever character you'd want to play as. Although you'll eventually need to play as the other characters to unlock their respective trophies, whatever character you choose for your first playthrough, will be the character you'll be maining for the majority of these trophies.

Although you can play this game by yourself, and get your old school R&C fix, it is highly recommended you play this game with a friend or two. This game's formula is very different from previous R&C titles, with the main focus being Co-Op. You will get more out of the game and have a lot more fun playing this with friends, as opposed playing this solo.

That said, just focus on enjoying your time and blasting your way through the game (with the weapons is what I mean). Depending on how you're going to play, you'll unlock a few trophies just from starting the game by yourself, with a friend, and just waiting in an online lobby.

During your playthrough, aside from the story related trophies, you'll most likely unlock a few if not all the "kill x enemies with x weapon" trophies along the way naturally. Purchase a new weapon whenever one becomes available, and upgrade them however you wish; you'll eventually have to buy and upgrade everything anyways.

Though picking up Hero Bolts isn't trophy related, I figured I would provide a list for the locations for each Hero Bolt anyways, as some of us might want to collect all of them. Collecting Hero Bolts will unlock alternate costumes for you to use for your character. Please refer to the Hero Bolt Locations at the bottom of this guide for details.

2) Clean Up

At this point, you should only have a few trophies, aside from the one million Bolts. By trophies, I mean the ones requiring you do a specific task in a specific point in a level, and the other 3 character related trophies requiring you to use their special weapons.

3) Road to One Million Bolts

Now that you've beaten the game and clean up the rest of the other trophies, its time to finish upgrading everything for your main character for your platinum. To do so, you're going to do some good old fashion grinding. It is at this point in the game, that it is in your best interest to not upgrade any of your weapons until you've saved up one million bolts, as the trophy requires you to have this amount on you at once.

A thing to point out is that for whatever level you play in, the further it is in the story, the more bolts you will be rewarded. And the more players you're playing the levels with, the more bolts you can earn.

TROPHY GUIDE

4 Play (H)(P)

Get all of the Trophies in the game.

As with other games, collect all other trophies to unlock this trophy. Congrats!

Don't let the air taxi take damage in Luminopolis.

This trophy is earned in Luminopolis, the very first stage in the game.

Eventually, you will reach a section of this level where you need to take an air taxi to reach the next area. (What’s a Ratchet and Clank game without air taxis!) Steering the taxi is simple; you move the taxi to the right by having the player(s) stand and shift their weight towards the right, and to the left by leaning towards the left. Simply avoid the fans in the first part, and avoid the oncoming traffic when you reach the tunnel. Do this without taking damage until you reach towards the end, and the trophy will pop upon “leaving” the taxi.

Unless your partner(s) just feels like messing with you, there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to do this within one or two tries.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/03.jpg Intergalactic Tool of Justice (H)(B)

Defeat the Z'Grute.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon defeating the boss in Luminopolis, the Z’Grute.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=zgrute]

http://i.imgur.com/U9hJ2FL.jpg

Z'Grute

First Part

The first part of this battle is quite straightfoward. The Z’Grute has only one main attack, which is to slam his fists onto your platform, either to the right, left, or top.. Notice the floor panels you’re standing on? Whenever he slams his fists, depending on where he slams, he’ll flip over electrified floor panels, which will come in a wave like fashion. Simply perform double jump to dodge out of the way. Damaging is simple, just make sure you and your partner(s) are using the same weapon so you are doing Co-op Overloads.,

Once you’ve dealt enough damage, the Z'Grute will attempt to heal itself by draining a nearby generator. Do the same thing you’ve been doing with your partner(s) when opening gates, and destroy it by performing a Co-op Overload on the generator. Succeed and you’ll force it to flee; failure to do so results in repeating the entire battle.

Second Part

You’ll fight the Z'Grute when you’ve reaching the front of the Zogg Tower. His Imain attack is still the same, slamming the ground and flipping over electrified floor panels. The only real catch this time, is how fast he dishes out these attacks. Repeat the same tactic as you did for the first part, and he’ll retreat yet again.

Third Part

At the top of the tower, you will see the Z'Grute in the distance is draining a generator on the Lumenoid Power Plant. To stop it, use the readily available turrets on and focus on destroy the generator’s one by one. The Z'Grute will be actively firing electric blasts towards you as well, so take those out with your turrets before they come in contact with you.

Once you’ve successfully destroyed the generator, the Z'Grute will make one last attempt to kill you by hanging off the side of the tower. Finish it off by shooting at its face while avoiding the panels it electrifies. or perform a slam on its hands.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/04.jpg Bomb Disposal (S)

Blow up 85% of the exploding crates in Aldaros Plains.

http://i.imgur.com/R2IO26n.png - Explosive Crates (but you already knew that)

This trophy is done on the level, Aldaros Plains - Outside Receiving Station, and onwards.

Because there are so many of these crates throughout the stage, rather than list where each crate is, just destroy each of explosive crate you come across. How you destroy them is up to you. You can destroy them from a distance or with a weapon or by throwing your wrench, or you can simply touch them to initiate a countdown so it destroys itself. Breaking them with your wrench is the preferred method.

85% might not seem a lot, but there are only so many crates in the Plains, so you can only miss a few crates before you run out of crates to destroy and have to start over. Keep in mind that should you die, all previously destroyed explosive crates will respawn, meaning you will have to destroy them again. Progress too far, and you’ll often find yourself impossible to backtrack. That’s why you must destroy all these without dying. The number of explosive crates does not change depending on the number of players in the game, so if you’re having trouble doing this yourself, consider doing this with a partner(s) to spread things out.

Once you’ve destroyed at least 85% of the explosive crates in Aldaros Plains, the trophy will unlock, which of course will vary depending on when you’ve destroyed the “85th percent” crate. The trophy should pop around just before or after Suzie gets captured by a Gravoid. If you did this with a partner(s), it will unlock for them as well.

Defeat the octomoth.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon defeating the boss in Aldaros Plains, the Octomoth.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=octomoth]

http://i.imgur.com/t5HnVga.jpg

Octomoth

For such a boss of such size, this boss battle, if you can call it that, is actually really easy. The Octomoth’s only means of attack is by stabbing the platform you’re on with its tentacles. To damage the Octomoth, you must get rid of its tentacles, either with weapons or via melee (which is recommended). As you may have noticed, take too long in getting rid of a tentacle, and it’ll rip out a part of the arena, giving you less room to run around and less room to move, so be quick! Get rid of enough tentacles, and the Octomoth will be stunned, allowing you to perform a few Co-Op overloads at ts open mouth. Simply repeat this strategy, until it is defeated..

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/06.jpg El Matador (B)

No one gets hit by a grove beetle in the Deadgrove.

This trophy is done in the stage, The DeadGrove - Orthano Gorge and Root Cavern. For the purpose of this trophy, you must play both stages from beginning to end without reloading.

You will eventually reach a point in the stage where you’re pitted against six of these so called grove beetles. As with the trophy description, their means of attacking you is to charge head first towards you. To dodge their attacks, simply perform a double jump just before they hit you. A good indication as to when they’re going to perform their charge attack is to pay attention to the beetles’ back; spikes will sprout out from their backs.

You do not have to kill them, you just have to not get hit by them when encountering through the levels. If you’re playing solo, shoot Clank in front of the Beetle so that he will charge. Or for an even easier time, make use of Qwark’s Quantum Deflector to absorb the damage. Note that if you’re playing this with a partner(s), they must also not get hit in order to unlock the trophy.

Successfully dodge and defeat the beetles, and the trophy will unlock at the end of the second stage, after grinding down three rails.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/07.jpg Now We Need a Really Big Tissue (H)(B)

Defeat the Wigwump.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon defeating the boss in The DeadGrove, the Wigwump.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=wigwump]

http://i.imgur.com/tr2BAM1.jpg

Wigwump

Part One

The first part of the Wigwump battle takes place during your descent down into the abyss using your Jet Packs. The Wigwump will attack by breathing fire, so simply perform a ram attack with :r1: to stop him and have him move out of the way. As to descend further down the hole, the Wigwump will occasionally pop out of the holes on the side of the abyss and attack. Dodge them by maneuvering your way around him. Avoid the rocks as you head further on down and when you reach the end, destroy the window to your right to continue. The Wigwump will break the rocks blocking your way, And you'll reach the bottom of the abyss, where the real fight begins.

Part Two

The Wigwump's will use his fire breath attack for this portion of the battle once again. He will perform it on one of three separate sections of the area you're on, heating it up and damaging anyone on it. Simply move onto the other two sections of the arena to dodge. Keep firing at the Wigwump, performing Co-op Overloads as always.

Once it loses enough health, it'll attempt to cause a cave-in, spawning Deadgrubs into the fight. A springboard will also appear, so jump on it to launch yourself beside the Wigwump, and you'll automatically activate your Jet Pack. Ram attack him until he's stunned and falls to the ground stunned, then keep firing at him until he recovers. Rinse and repeat until he is defeated.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/08.jpg Spog 2.0 (H)(B)

Defeat Commander Spog.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon defeating the boss in ???, Commander Spog.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=spog]

http://i.imgur.com/JYmEJJ9.jpg

Commander Spog

Commander Spog is one of the harder bosses. He has a few main attacks. He will either fire two lasers and perform a sweeping motion with it, which you can dodge by double jumping over the. Spog can also attacks by slamming the ground by morphing his hands into giant hammers.

So how do you damage him? In addition to performing Co-op Overloads, Spog will occasionally fire ticking time bombs onto the arena. Rather than dodge them, pick them up with your Vac-U, and fire it back at him. The timed bombs actually do more damage your weapons, so it is in your interest to return fire at him with them. The bombs are also the only means of destroying Spog's armor.

Once you've dealt enough damage, Spog will fly off to another part of the arena. His attacks will remain the same, but he'll attack more often, in addition to calling in Bouncers for reinforcement. One thing to note though, is that when he's dropping the timed saws, he'll also attack you with saw blades that home in on you on the ground, so keep your eye out when picking them up.

Damage him some more, and he'll fly off again. Repeat the same tactics for the third and final time, and he'll be defeated.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/09.jpg On Some Planets They're a Delicacy (S)

Shoot all of the slorgs back into the waters of Octonok Cay.

This trophy is done in the level, Octonok Cay - Cove.

Slorgs are slug like octopus creatures. Because killing them with weapons would be too easy (you can't), the only way to “defeat” them, is to send them back into the waters, as with the trophy description. To knock them back, either use your wrench (:r2:+:square:) or fire at them with your weapons to knock them off the platforms. Each time you hit them, they will bounce around if they're fenced it until you knock them towards the edge. When you reach areas that requires you to knock them into a drain to progress, those do not count.

Both Slorgs and Armored Slorgs counts towards this trophy. A good weapon in taking out the armored ones is with the Pyro Blaster.

You must play the level Octonok Cay from the very beginning. Do this properly, knocking each one back towards the water, and you should earn the trophy. The trophy will unlock just before the end of this stage.

Defeat King Sepiad.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon defeating the boss in ???, the King Sepiad.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=kingsepiad]

http://i.imgur.com/UGC4h2s.jpg

King Sepiad

First Part

You'll be water-skiing throughout this first part of the battle, which is really easy. Avoid the mines and electric fields in the water, either by swerving to the left, right, or jumping over them, picking up any crates you come across. The boat driver will eventually drive by an electric tower, which you must then press :triangle: to grab on. Miss, and he'll have to circle around so you can try again. Once you're on, rotate the :rs: to charge it up, and the King Sepiad will attempt to hit you, only to get shocked. Repeat this on two more towers, and he'll sink into the sea, "dead".

Second Part

Because none of use are so gullible that the King Sepiad would die so easily, we begin our second part. Once you're at the top of the Lighthouse, your job is to activate the Lighthouses' lights in order to stun it. The King Sepiad will attacks by slapping the ground with its tentacles, which are can be easily avoided so long as you're not under the. Slorg's will enter the area, which you must use them to charge up the Lighthouse, by knocking them into the hole in the center.

Once enough Slorgs have been pushed in, a crank will appear. Turn it, and you'll activate the lighthouse's beacon, stunning the King. Use your Vac-U to pull on the lure on its lower jaw, so he opens his mouth, then using the Slorgs in the arena, knock them into his mouth to damage it. Zap him enough, and he'll get out of his dazed state. Repeat a second time doing the same thing to defeat him; when he covers up the crank with his tentacle, knock a Slorg into it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/11.jpg It Was Like That When We Got Here (B)

Destroy all of the towers in Gorthon Crater.

This trophy is done in the level, Terawatt Forest - Gorthon Crater.

You’ll be travelling in style, via "Leon", a giant Guardian Robot, while manning machine guns on its back. While he makes his way towards Croid's Lab, you should notice spotlight like towers in the background, which as per the trophy description, you must destroy in order to unlock it. Notice the oh so obvious yellow center in the middle of each tower? Shoot at them, which really only takes a few hits, to destroy them.

You’ll come across each tower during this section, there aren’t any hidden ones, so its just a simple matter of destroying each one. If you’re having trouble doing this yourself, consider doing this with a partner or two. That way, one can focus on the enemies while the other focuses on the towers. If you mess this section up, simply go attempt this again via Mission Select.

Use only Reflectors to destroy the generators in Phonica Moon's security tunnels. (2P+)

This trophy is done in the stage, Phonica Moon.

You’ll reach a section that takes you through some security tunnels, You’ll be tasked to in destroying three different generators, using your newly acquired Reflectors. As described in the trophy, you must use only your Reflectors to destroy the generators; using the glass panels to help you will void the trophy. You can bounce off your beams off the panels, but you cannot use them. The only thing between the generator and your Reflector must only be you or your partner’s beam.

Successfully destroy them without using the panels, and you will earn the trophy. You can attempt this trophy with two controllers by yourself, but you'll have a much easier time doing this by grabbing a partner or two to help you out.

Get through the laser walls at the end of Uzo City in 45 seconds.

This trophy is done in the level, Uzo City - City.

The area this trophy refers to, is the area just after taking the elevator. You should see a gate blocked off by a force shield that requires a co-op slam to open. This is the same area the sixth and final RYNO Secret Lab is located. Once you open the door and the following cutscene ends, the timer will begin.

45 seconds is actually more than enough to get through this platforming section. An enemy Grute will immediately drop into the area as soon as you take your few steps. Destroy him with a powerful weapon like the Warmonger, and using your Reflector, run all the way to the end, blocking the lasers when they come at you. Destroy the four Ion Turrets in the back here with either your Warmonger or Plasmabomb Launcher. Once that's done, head all the way left and you should see another co-op slam switch. Open it, and make your way past the now shut off laser walls. If you did all that under 45 seconds, which you should, the trophy will pop.

If your Qwark is highly equipped, simply deploy his Quantum Deflector and just run through this section.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/16.jpg The Saviors of Magnus (H)(G)

Defeat the Loki Master.

Story related, cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy upon finishing the defeating the final boss of the game, the Loki Master.

Boss Tips:

[spoiler=lokimaster]

First Part

You will be fighting Mr. Dinkles, well the Loki Master possessing him that is. He will be on his weaponized hoverthrone throughout the entire portion of this battle. Dodge his straightforward attacks until he flies towards the back of the area. He will shoot at you with lasers, which you and/or your partner(s) then must bounce them back at him using your Reflectors. Keep the laser focused onto him, and you'll trigger an Overload, destroying his shield. While Mr. Dinkles attempts to restore his shield on his hoverthrone, shoot at him with everything you got, making use of Co-op Overloads as always.

Repeat this a second time to defeat him. He will send in reinforcements as the battle goes on, but its nothing special you haven't dealt with.

Second Part

The Loki Master, now in the form of a Rykan V Grivelnox, complete with the natural ability to augment its body by digesting other creatures. His name and ability might sound intimidating, but he's a really easy opponent. His attacks and tactics are nothing you haven't encountered before, so its just a matter of dodging and shooting back. The only thing he stands out from other bosses, is he has a huge amount of health. Therefore, triggering Co-op Overloads constantly is recommended. Quarter way through the battle, he'll gain a fire breathing attack, and half way through the battle, he'll gain electrical powers as well.

Once you've weakened him enough, he'll attempt to regenerate his health though the orb of energy in the middle of the arena. Destroy it, and Croid and Nevo will activate the extractor, in which you must pin him down with pincers. Pin his arms down by doing co-op slams onto the switches, then his head in the other two switches that follow. He'll fall down, stunned, which you must then use your Vac-U's to help the extractor in removing the Loki from the beast. Do this quickly, to finally defeat this boss.

Get through Rossa Fields without using any of the energy repositories.

This trophy is done in the level, Terawatt Forest - Rossa Fields.

To make your way through Rossa Fields, you will need to Vac-U a some crystal deposits to light up your way. For this trophy, you will need to bring the deposits, in one charge and make it all the way to the end of the forest without using any other repositories to recharge. How much energy is left, can be viewed on the bottom right corner of the screen.

When making your way through the fields, take note of the man eating plants and energy fragments. The energy fragments scattered all over the field, can be used to refill your deposits. Simply pick them up with your Vac-U and aim. Picking up these fragments are essential if you want to make it all the way across with refilling through repositories. The plants however, you cannot kill. They are however, vulnerable to light, burrowing themselves back underground when exposed to it. Because the crystal deposits emit light, as long as you're carrying it around, you will not be harmed. Take even one step into the dark, and its an automatic death by them. When picking up fragments, make sure you're within the light.

There are two parts to this section, with the end of the first part requiring you to place the shard to open up another section. This won’t count as a repository but will refill your crystal’s energy back to 100%, serving as a “checkpoint” so to speak.

Make it all the way to the end without recharging your crystal through the repositories, and the trophy will unlock. As it is quite difficult to fend for yourself when attempting this solo, consider grabbing a partner or two when trying for this trophy. One can fend off enemies and recharge the deposits by picking up fragments, while the other focuses on moving around the deposits.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/18.jpg The Mad Plasmabomber (B)

Kill eight enemies with one shot.

Although the trophy description does not specify, you are required to use the Plasmabomber to unlock this trophy. It will be available to purchase in the first level of the game, Luminopolis, for 500 Bolts shortly after the first part of the Z'Grute fight.

The Plasmabomber, serves as your grenade launcher for the game. Killing eight enemies with one shot might sound difficult, but you will most likely earn yourself this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game.

To make this trophy even easier, grab a partner with you, Have them not attack and lure the enemies towards you. Once eight or more enemies gather, fire a shot, hopefully killing all of the, obviously best done on the weaker, smaller enemies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/19.jpg Pyromancer (B)

Barbecue four enemies at the same time using the Pyro Blaster.

The Pyro Blaster is your flamethrower for the game. It must be purchased for 10,000 Bolts.

When fired, it emits a stream of fire, which is well, what flamethrowers do. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. By barbecue, they mean burn and kill your enemies into a crisp. Barbecue four enemies at the same time, and the trophy will pop. As always this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/20.jpg Knockout Artist (B)

Kill three enemies with one attack using the Blitzer.

The Blitzer is a melee weapon in the form of two oversized punching gloves. It must be purchased for 6,000 Bolts, first available to you in The DeadGrove - Abyss, after your first Jet Pack section.

When fired, the user will charge at an opponent, fists first; useful when one wants to quickly get into close range. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. Simply kill three enemies in one attack, and the trophy will unlock. As always this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/21.jpg Fine, But You're Cleaning Up After Them (B)

Get 10 critters on screen at once.

Remember that awesome weapon from previous games that turns enemies into chickens, the Morph-O-Ray? The transformation weapon for A4O, is known as the Critter Strike. It must be purchased for 10,000 Bolts, first available to you in N.E.S.T. - Elerox Pass.

When fired, morphs enemies into pigs, baby T-Rex's, or sheep; the time it takes depending on the size of the enemy. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. Simply turn ten enemies into critters and have them all on screen at once, and the trophy will unlock. As always this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. It does not matter what you morph enemies into, so long as ten enemies are transformed and on screen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/22.jpg Eight Seconds (B)

Kill eight enemies in eight seconds using the Darkstar Fission Tether with two or more teammates.

The Darkstar Fission Tether must be purchased, first available to you in Octonok Cay - Cove.

When fired, this weapon creates electric wires that shocks enemies upon contact. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. Simply kill eight enemies within eight seconds, and the trophy will unlock. As always this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game.

This trophy is best done with a partner or two, as the more tethers there are on the battlefield, the higher the range and damage you dish out to enemies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/23.jpg Zurkon the Legend (B)

Kill 100 enemies with Mr. Zurkon out.

Mr. Zurkon, must be purchased for 10,000 Bolts, first available to you in N.E.S.T. - Elerox Pass.

Mr Zurkon acts your bodyguard. Complete with witty funny one liners, Zurkon provides additional firepower with his laser while floating by your side. Different from the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you do not need Zurkon to kill 100 enemies to unlock this trophy; you can kill the enemies yourself, he only needs to be deployed when you do so. Once you've purchased him, simply deploy him whenever come across enemies, and you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game.

Kill 100 enemies with him out and you’ll earn the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/24.jpg Melee Legend (B)

Kill 150 enemies with melee.

Melee can be performed in two ways, using your fists via the :square: button. Or as with all R&C games, the universally accepted form of melee weapon for galactic defenders is the all-purpose, Wrench, :r2:+:square:.

You’ll often find yourself fending enemies off using melee attacks out of habit anyways, especially the smaller ones. So that said, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you progress through the game. Melee is also very useful when you need to conserve ammo.

Simply kill 150 enemies using your either method, to earn yourself the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/32.jpg Q-Force Legend (B)

Kill 50 enemies in a row using melee without taking damage.

As per the description, you must kill 50 enemies in a row with your melee, either with your fists or throwing your Wrench, all the while avoiding taking damage. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game.

It is in your best interest to attempt this trophy with a partner or with a second controller, as playing by yourself partners you up with an AI controlled Clank/Qwark, which will pretty much just kill everything in sight. Having a partner will lessen the amount of enemies attacking you at once, giving you a much easier time. If you’re having difficulties, consider using Qwark’s special weapon, the Quantum Deflector, as it’ll absorb any damage you take should you get hit.

A good place to do this is in N.E.S.T. - Vertigus Cliffs. There are a lot of small enemies here and the level is relatively straightforward. When you've reached a cliff and given the chance to grapple to a new location, you should notice some crates at the bottom here. Drop down and you'll spawn more of the little ones.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/25.jpg Doppelbanger Legend (B)

Destroy 30 enemies while they're distracted by the Doppelbanger.

The Doppelbanger is a special weapon in the game, unique and only available for Ratchet.

This unique weapon must first be purchased for 5,000 Bolts, available to you in Aldaros Plain - Archipelago. As the name implies, this weapon produces a clone of Ratchet, or rather a decoy, that draws enemy fire towards it. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. Simply kill 30 enemies while they are distracted by your decoy, and you’ll earn yourself the trophy. This trophy will most likely unlock naturally, if you’re playing as Ratchet for your first playthrough.

A quick way to earn Bolts to purchase the weapon if Ratchet isn't the character you're mainly using, is to replay the stage Terawatt Forest - Gorthon Craters. A relatively short rail shooter segment, that doesn't require you to have an upgraded arsenal to get through. You should earn around 17,000-18,000 Bolts at the end of stage. Once you've purchased the Doppelbanger, and preferably the ammo upgrade, load up N.E.S.T. - Vertigus Cliffs. There are loads of small enemies there, so just repeat and kill until you run out of ammo, then jump off a cliff so you start again. Kills you've made before your death, will count towards the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/26.jpg Quantum Deflector Legend (B)

Absorb 500 shots with the Quantum Deflector.

The Quantum Deflector is a special weapon in the game, unique and only available for Qwark.

This unique weapon must first be purchased for 5,000 Bolts, available to you in Aldaros Plain - Archipelago. As the name implies, this weapon surrounds Qwark with a force field, able to absorb enemy fire for the duration its out. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. Shots or attacks, it does not matter, so long as you absorb a cumulative amount of 500 of these. Do so, and the trophy will unlock. This trophy will most likely unlock naturally, if you’re playing as Qwark for your first playthrough.

Once you've purchased the Quantum Deflector, and preferably the ammo upgrade, load up The Deadgrove, Orthan Gorge. Make your way through this stage until you encounter your first Proton Turret. He will constantly shoot at you until you destroy him, so just simply stand there with the Deflector deployed and absorb it all. Simply repeat until you run out of ammo, then jump off the nearby cliff or purposely kill yourself to start again. Damage absorbed before your death, will count towards the trophy.

Kill 15 enemies that have been slowed down by the Zoni Blaster.

The Zoni Blaster is a special weapon in the game, unique and only available for Clank.

This unique weapon must first be purchased for 5,000 Bolts, available to you in Aldaros Plain - Archipelago. This weapon fires shots that slows enemies down, as with the Zoni’s ability to manipulate time and space. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. Much more straightforward and simple than the other character unique weapon related trophies, simply slow down 15 enemies, and kill them to earn this trophy. This trophy will most likely unlock naturally, if you’re playing as Clank for your first playthrough.

The Cloaker is a special weapon in the game, unique and only available for Nefarious.

This unique weapon must first be purchased for 5,000 Bolts, available to you in Aldaros Plain - Archipelago. As the name implies, this weapon cloaks Nefarious and makes him invisible to enemies. The catch with this weapon though, is that it gives Nefarious a suped up version of his melee attack, a powerful claw attack. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. Simply kill 15 enemies while remaining invisible using the Cloaker, to unlock yourself the trophy. This trophy will most likely unlock naturally, if you’re playing as Nefarious for your first playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/29.jpg Quick Killer (B)

Kill eight enemies in two seconds.

Another trophy that sounds hard on paper, but in reality, is actually very easy to do. Kill eight enemies within two seconds to earn this trophy.

As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, this is best done on the smaller, weaker enemies of the game. You will most likely unlock this trophy naturally, with next to no effort when you play through the game. Note that enemies killed by your partner(s) count towards the two seconds. Why the developers bothered to include such an easy trophy in this game, that I do not know.

Recommended weapons are ones that create big explosions, such as the Plasmabomb Launcher or the Warmonger.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/30.jpg Overload Legend (B)

Use the Co-op overload to kill 60 enemies.

A Co-op overload, is done when two or more players are using the exact same weapon, and firing it at the same enemy. A circle will appear, growing in size as you fire, eventually exploding, producing an “overload”. A Co-op overload can only be done on the bigger enemies, and can be done with either a partner(s), or an AI controlled character; AI partners will always use the same weapon as you.

As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you play through the game. Simply kill 60 enemies using Co-op overloads, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/31.jpg Life Support (B)

Revive a teammate with one second left on their timer. (2P +)

Whenever you or your partner(s) loses all of their health, you will be given the option to revive them, via the :circle: button. When a player is downed, you are given 10 seconds to revive them before they are out. As the trophy describes, you will need to revive a downed teammate with only 1 second left on the timer.

The easiest way to get this is when you're first introduced and given the ability to revive a teammate, from the Vac-U tutorial. The computer in charge of the training facility will zap each of you to death, giving each of you a chance to revive each other. Simply wait till there's only 1 second left on the timer, then revive them.

You could try to earn this during normal means, but that will probably result in you getting yelled at by teammates for taking too long, and then accidentally dying before you make it to them, forcing all of you to restart your previous checkpoint.

Bolts, are the main form of currency in the Ratchet & Clank universe. You are rewarded Bolts for almost everything you do in this game, defeating enemies, destroying crates, or completing specific tasks.

Simply purchase all the weapons for one character, to unlock each respective trophy. You do not need to upgrade them. Note that unique weapons don’t count towards this trophy (ie. You will only need to purchase the Doppelbanger when playing as Ratchet, you do not have to worry about purchasing other character’s unique weapons).

List of weapons are as follows, in the order you unlock them. A total of 12:

  • Combuster (Free)
  • Plasmabomb Launcher (500 Bolts)
  • Arc Lasher (4,500 Bolts)
  • Warmonger (5,000 Bolts)
  • Blitzer (6,000 Bolts)
  • Critter Strike (10,000 Bolts)
  • Mr. Zurkon (10,000 Bolts)
  • Pyro Blaster (10,000 Bolts)
  • Darkstar Fission Tether (15,000 Bolts)
  • Omegatech Frost Cannon (25,000 Bolts)
  • Thundersmack (25,000 Bolts)

Special Weapons (5,000 Bolts each)

  • Doppelbanger (Ratchet only)
  • Quantum Deflector (Qwark only)
  • Zoni Ray (Clank only)
  • Cloaker (Nefarious only)

A total of 111,000 Bolts are needed to purchase all weapons to unlock this trophy.

As this trophy refers to weapons purchased from the store, the RYNO does not count towards this trophy. Nonetheless, here are the locations of each RYNO Lab for those that want to unlock it.

You're most likely missing the one in Octonok Cay. It's the one I had missing. After getting the last piece, you'll need to redo Uzo City Critter Challenge to unlock RYNO VI.

Here's the list:

Aldaros Plains - Archipelago

Aldaros Plains - Village Outskirts (take a right at the first lava rock section)

Octonok Cay - Reef Shallows (look for a 3-way split path, the one on left is free, the middle is blocked by mines that you can blow up, the one on the right you can't go; take the middle one)

The Deadgrove - Mining Camp

Phonica Moon - Security Tunnels

Uzo City - City

Kill 500 enemies.

Straightforward enough, kill 500 enemies with weapons, your wrench, however you want, and you’ll unlock this trophy.

Its a Ratchet and Clank game, you buy weapons, and shoot stuff. If for some reason by the end of the game you still haven’t unlocked this trophy, you are doing something horribly wrong.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/39.jpg Vac-U Legend (B)

Kill 50 enemies with the Vac-U 4000.

The Vac-U 4000, A.K.A., the “suck-your-teammates-up-and-throw-them-off-a-cliff-gadget”, is your all purpose vacuum cleaner. You will be using it to suck up objects, your partner(s), or enemies. The Vac-U can be accessed at any time through the :circle: button.

Unfortunately, shooting your partner(s) off a cliff over and over again does not count towards this trophy. So to earn yourself this trophy, you must use the Vac-U-4000 and kill 50 enemies instead. As with the other “kill x enemies with a specific weapon” trophies, you can only do this on the smaller, weaker enemies in the game. You will most likely unlock this trophy naturally as you play through the game.

Simply suck up 50 enemies, shoot them off a cliff, into other enemies, or a combination of both, to unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/41.jpg The First Million is Always the Hardest (G)

Have 1,000,000 bolts banked.

Unfortunately, as described in the trophy, bolts picked up cumulatively does not count, you must have 100,000/1,000,000 Bolts on you at once in order to unlock each trophy. Fortunately for you, acquiring one million bolts can easily be done in a relatively short amount of time. Take note that for whatever level you play in, the further it is in the story, the more bolts you will be rewarded. And the more players you're playing the levels with, the more bolts you can earn.

That said, good places to farm are stages in the level Uzo City. With a full group of four, you should earn around 150k+ Bolts upon completing each stage. If you online games with randoms aren't cutting it out for you, please refer to the All 4 One: Co-op Thread and look for partners there.

How the character’s manage to pack in one million bolts, forever remains a mystery.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/704/42.jpg Waiting Room (B)

Reach the lobby. (2P +)

You will need the :psn: PSN Pass in order to earn this trophy. A code for the Pass comes with new copies of this game, on the back of the cover booklet in the case. If you bought this used or rented this, you can buy the code off the PSN Store.

Simply host a room and wait in the lobby, or simply join someone else’s game and wait in the lobby, and the trophy will pop. Yes, that's how easy this trophy is and will probably be the very first trophy you earn anyways.

If you need to find a co-op partner, please refer to the All 4 One: Co-op Thread.

Play an online game. (2P +)

You will need the :psn: PSN Pass in order to earn this trophy. A code for the Pass comes with new copies of this game, on the back of the cover booklet in the case. If you bought this used or rented this, you can buy the code off the PSN Store.

You’ll most likely earn this right after Waiting Room, simply wait in the lobby and start the game or wait for the host to start a game. The trophy will pop immediately when you begin an online game. If its your first time playing the game, it will pop after the first cutscene.

Or you can do this trophy by yourself using 2 controllers. You will however, still need the PSN Pass:

For the trophy Connected (Play an online game. (2P +))

You can do this on your own if you have a 2nd controller, but you'll need the online pass. Just turn on 2 controllers, go to the online section, make your own game, choose a character with both controllers and start the game, trophy will pop soon after you're in the game! That's how I have done it! So there's no need for boosting partners if you have 2 controllers.

But thumbs up! It's a great guide and also very detailed!

If you need to find a co-op partner, please refer to the All 4 One: Co-op Thread.

You can play the game by yourself or with a friend offline, by selecting “Offlline” in the Main Menu. During the character selection screen, select a character and press :cross: to finalize, to initiate a single player game. Once the game starts up, and the trophy will unlock momentarily.

Though not required for the trophy, if this is your first playthrough, immediately quit the game and play the game with a friend(s) offline or online. Play the game as its meant to be played, with friends!

Hero Bolt Locations

http://i.imgur.com/BQyqWCA.png

Collecting Hero Bolts aren't trophy related, but I thought some of you might appreciate a list of their locations. Playing the game with additional costumes for your character, makes it more fun.

Gold Bolts, rare bolts that we R&C fans have come to love, which allowed players to purchase extra cheats or skins have been replaced in this game, in the form of Hero Bolts. Despite its name change, its purpose in the game serves the same as Gold Bolts. Collecting Hero Bolts throughout the game's levels, unlocks character skins, or costumes, for you to use in the game.

There are a total of 42 Hero Bolts, scattered throughout the whole game. A thing to note is that Hero Bolts will come in different colors, depending on which character you're using:

  • Ratchet - Bolt Color
  • Clank - Bolt Color
  • Qwark - Bolt Color
  • Nefarious - Bolt Color

When playing with a partner(s), locations for Hero Bolts will be the same for everybody, only catch is they have to pick up their own Hero Bolt in order to add it onto their own save. To pick up a Hero Bolt, simply suck it up with your Vac-U 4000.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/members/breadskin-albums-ps3t-stuff-picture23773-line.png

Locations of each all 42 Hero Bolts in the game is as follows:

Luminoplis

  • Hero Bolt #1 - At the end of the third Vac-U tutorial, you’ll need to use and elevator to move onto the next area. To your right, you should see some a large test tube, with a Hero Bolt(s) in it. To open it up, notice the ball(s) lying around? Simply pick them up with your Vac-U and throw it in the incinerator on the left.
  • Hero Bolt #2 - Soon after learning how to revive your partners with the Vac-U, this can be found behind some crates, to your right of the exit; can't miss it.

To your left will be some more of those collasapble ledges, with the Bolt(s) on them. Try your best to grab them before you fall; if you don’t get it, have the rest of your team die to restart at a previous checkpoint.

Archipelago

  • Hero Bolt #5 - After killing a bunch of Gravoids, you’ll have to use a rotating mechanism to get across a chasm. You’ll land on some lava platforms and 5 exploding crates, with the option to go left or right. Head right, and you should see the Bolt(s) in another glass tube on a high ledge to your right. Open it up with Vac-U with your partner(s).

actually it contains inaccuracies and i would say immikeulate's is better he's just to modest.

apart from boss strategies i cant see how its as good :(

for example...

On Some Planets They're a Delicacy

Shoot all of the slorgs back into the waters of Octonok Cay.

This trophy is done in the level, Octonok Cay.

Slorgs are slug like octopus creatures. Because killing them with weapons would be too easy (you can't), the only way to “defeat” them, is to send them back into the waters, as with the trophy description. To knock them back, either use your wrench (+) or fire at them with your weapons to knock them off the platforms. Each time you hit them, they will bounce around if they're fenced it until you knock them towards the edge. When you reach areas that requires you to knock them into a drain to progress, that counts towards the trophy too.

Both Slorgs and Armored Slorgs counts towards this trophy. A good weapon in taking out the armored ones is with the Pyro Blaster.

You must play the level Octonok Cay from the very beginning, without dying, to unlock this trophy. Should you die, or if you're playing with a partner(s) your whole team dies, this will void the trophy. Attempt this solo if you're having trouble doing this with a partner.

Do this properly, knocking each one back towards the water, and you should earn the trophy.

not true you can die as much as you like it won't void the trophy.

I am humbled :respect:

...also I hate you :p

I agree with Immikeulate.

Very well done though!

The more competition, the better! Had you and Elite stayed solo, I wouldn't have bothered to be honest. As soon as you guys decided to join hands, I'd figured I could have some fun :p.

also immikeulate's has more imformation and explains tricks and easy ways to obtain the trophies, and points out if you restart a level will it contain a lengthy cut scene, and best level to boost trophies.

this guide at the minute dosen't.

What I had before, was only a placeholder before I could confirm it. Those have been fixed. I'll be doing more edits as the day progress, so feel free to call me out if I have something wrong or could use adding.

About Mission Improbable trophy, it is not exactly true that "As soon as you open the door, the timer will begin." When the door opens, you see a very short cutscene which shows you the huge monster-collecting UFO thingy (forgot how to spell its name). That cutscene takes some 5 to 8 seconds and is not counted. I am sure because I used a digital kitchen timer to countdown from 45 seconds when I hit the door switch, and when the alarm went off I just arrived at the last cover. It took me more than 5 seconds after that to complete but I still got the trophy.

The strategy of using Qwark is very sound, but what if the player had not been using Qwark and he's still a level 0 character? He won't be able to survive the initial enemies in the map to reach this laser wall segment. Should mention how to tackle this trophy with other characters.

You need to purchase the Quantum Deflector if you want the (P) anyways, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll make a mention of it in the guide, thanks!

I've been added some videos to some of the trophies as well.

Yes you need to purchase Quantum Deflector, but remember, at the start of the map, you have to go across a long passage with lasers firing at you (easy enough) and 2 enemies at the sides behind cover. After that, you take an elevator up, and at the top (where the last Ryno parts lab is), you will be surrounded by a lot of enemies (some big brutes and half a dozen spinning blade dudes and so on). A level 0 Qwark armed with Quantum Deflector may not be able to survive that ambush.
