Road Map

Quantum Conundrum is a first-person puzzle game where you have to use the environment and the force of four different dimensions to get through each map. You play the nephew who is on an unexpected visit at his uncle's, a brilliant scientist called Fitz Quadwrangle, mansion. However, an experiment goes wrong and the uncle is trapped in another dimension with no memory of what happened, it is up to you to find a way through his enormous mansion to power up the generators in order to save him.

To help you succeed your uncle guides you throughout his mansion. You can use a special glove to alter dimension and thus control the environment.

Step 1: Complete the game once

Just play through the game and most of the trophies will pop as you progress through the chapters.

Step 2: Collectibles and random trophies

At this point you probably only need to get ah, finally some peace and quiet; did a thing; explorer of all roads. That leaves you with the map specific challenges in step three. Should you miss another few trophies get them during step two as well.

Step 3: Map specific trophies

Now all you need is the map specific challenges i.e. In less than 12 parsecs; honor student and Still alive. Go to chapter select. It will show you the four chapters and the maps in each chapter. Check out each map to see if you mastered or failed the challenges. If you failed a challenge in a specific map, replay it till you master it and then you are done.

Tip & Tricks

  • This is a puzzle game, use your imagination to find the solution.
  • Find a blueprint and get access to Fitz Quadwrangle R&D room - it's a great place to practice using different dimensions.
  • Can't solve the puzzle, try another dimension.
  • Chapter select can be used to check out your stats.
  • If you are planning to get 100%, don't worry too much about Still Alive, you will get it when you go for the in less than 12 parsecs - simply because it is very hard to beat the time if you die (see trophy guide for requirements).

Collected all Collectibles

There are two types of collectibles; one, in the shape of a little robot thing that plays a sound and another that’s a blueprint. From the chapter select screen you can see which you are missing and which map they are in. There is also one collectible in the R&D room.

The collectibles are easy to find. Most of the time they are out in the open and easy to spot, however a few of them you must go out of your path to find them. Often you have to use your glove to alter the dimension and use the environment to get to them.

Should you have trouble finding the collectibles, then Maka made this Youtube guide:

- It also gives suggestions how to get other trophies.

Achieved Goal Time on all maps

In the chapter select you can see which map you didn’t achieve goal time on. It also says the time limit you must beat to achieve goal time on each map. According to DarkSeraphim666 it is not enough to equal the time, you must beat it.

For help with this, see here: Goal Time and Shifts Goals Guide

Achieved Shifts Goal on all maps

In chapter select you can see which map you didn’t achieve shifts goal on. It also says the maximum amount of shifts between dimensions you can make throughout the level. It is enough to equal the amount of shifts.

For help with this, see here: Goal Time and Shifts Goals Guide

Used the 'Do A Thing' menu item

After completing the game you get to use the "do a thing" menu, from the main menu.

Picked up the IDS device

Story related, cannot be missed. You will get this trophy early in the first chapter after picking up the IDS device.

Powered up the first generator

Story related, cannot be missed. After powering up the first generator and thus completing the first chapter – The Blue Wing – the trophy will pop.

Story related, cannot be missed. After completing the second chapter – The Yellow Wing – the trophy will pop.

Powered up the third generator

Story related, cannot be missed. After completing the third chapter – The Red Wing – the trophy will pop.

Powered up the Uber-IDS

Story related, cannot be missed. After completing the fourth chapter – The Uber-IDS – the trophy will pop.

Knocked Ike over with an object

There are several chances throughout the game. I found it easiest in chapter three "choose wisely". When you break the glass to get the IDS battery, knock him over with a heavy cardboard box or a safe.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1173/12.jpg Still Alive (B)

Made it through every level at least once without dying

In chapter select you can see which maps you didn’t complete without dying. Redo the map until you get it right.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1173/13.jpg Explorer of All Roads (B)

Solved 'Choose Wisely' by choosing each battery first

Choose Wisely is a map in chapter three. You have to replay it four times where you start out with either the fluffy, heavy, anti-gravity or slow battery. You must finish the map for it to count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1173/14.jpg Art Major (B)

View your portrait in all dimensions

The first time you have all four battery powers available at the same time, there is an opportunity to get this trophy (chapter 3, through the glass flooring). Otherwise you can also get it at the R&D room after finding all the blueprints.

Break 20 panes of glass

This is as easy as it sounds, just break 20 panes of glass. It can be done with safes or heavy cardboard boxes etc. This will happen eventually during your playthrough. I got it halfway through chapter one.

I find these videos of speed runs to be helpful - no exploits used as far as I can tell.

Chaîne de Seleneproject - YouTube

The videos are out of order though, but have stage numbers in titles.

not bad.

however, I already made a youtube list to help people getting the shift goal and goal time records. so I wont be adding these videos :)

Jacob - You links for the vids are nice and neat but the dude is playing as jerky as possible on a PC. Also, which is less relevant, his voice is annoying as hell. Mute can always fix that. However, in his second video, he stated that the bird shifts don't count towards the shift count. That made him lose all credibility with me.

Purifico - Although your guy's videos are out of order and incomplete, they seem to be done on console. That guy would have gotten way more views if he had the titles in English (sorry to say but it's true). I'll use him for as many as he uploaded, which isn't all levels.

First of all, great guide and it shows you put a lot of work into it. Very well organized. The added videos are great even if the guy plays on PC half the time and on the 360 the other half. Some of the things he does simply aren't possible on the console but I'm just improvising my own way to beating the times :D

The only two things I want to address are:

1. Difficulty - I know the difficulty thread is around a 4/10 but honestly this game is at least in the 6-7/10 range. It's not that hard for myself but I've had a lot of practice with the Portal 1 speed runs. For a majority of people, I'd imagine the speed runs could be extremely difficult and in no way a 4/10. I only say this because I'm going to have a lot of pride in this 100% once I get it and don't want people thinking this is a 4/10 trophy list.

2. 10 hours? there's no way somebody could do this in 10 hours; especially if they play through it the way your road map intends them to. I'm not saying your roadmap and guide aren't great. I love them, but 10 hours is waaaay under the time it would take the average person to get 100%. I'd put that at around 20-30 hours (skill dependent)

thanks, I'm glad you could use the guide.

I appreciate the feedback. always good to know what other people think. however, I believe the difficulty has to be the one from the pool.

I probably wouldn't give it a 6 or 7, however I agree some of the speed runs can be quite difficult, but with the video to give you an idea how to do it, and some imagination it should be possible for pretty much all.

I wouldn't say it's easy to finish this game in 10 hours, but if you only go for the trophies then it should be possible in my opinion.

it is a rather short game compared to retail games, and they are usually around 30 hours.

EDIT:

I just took a look at the difficulty thread. it says 5,5 - so I changed it to that.

I know this is an easy trophy to get, but this morning while I started up the game for the first time I noticed when you get to the area where he states something to the effect of, 'we will break this glass only because it is useful to go on' and the pane of glass is on the floor, with a button to trigger a safe to pop out and smash the glass. If you want to just get this out of the way you can just repeatedly hit the button (20x if you haven't smashed one pane of glass yet) because it will respawn the glass each time you hit the button. Again, I know this isn't a hard trophy to get, but just thought i'd throw this out there for people that didn't want to actively try to smash more panes than needed to move through an area. Quick way to get this trophy! :D

You really ought to give this a higher difficulty rating. This game is by no freaking means 5/10. This is at minimum 8/10.

I guess we need more voters. Not just people who wanna look though on the interney who says this is a 4/10. Pfff Look at how few people have actually accomplished the Shift and time goals. According to YourGamerCards.net it's less 0,70 percent for both of them. That doesn't sound like a 5/10 to me.

that's true, not many gotten those trophies, however I think it is because people can't be bothered.

As I wrote earlier, I would say it's near 6 or 7. so no way it's an 8.

thanks for the feedback though :)
