Roadmap

Overview:

• Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 5.5 (based on the trophy difficulty thread but keep in mind that luck is important in this kind of game)

• Offline Trophies: 10 (7 (B), 2 (S), 1 (G))

• Online Trophies: 2 (1 (B), 1 (S))

• Minimum Number of Playthroughs Needed: 1

• Number of Missable Trophies: None

• Glitched Trophies: None

• Does difficulty affect trophies: No

• Do cheat codes disable trophies: None available

• Approximate time to 100%: Since luck takes a good part in this game, it's hard to get a good estimation but I would say 20-50 hours

Introduction:

This game blends the classic color-block-matching genre (e.g Bejeweled) with some bits of RPG and Action. In the story mode, you will take the role of a young pilot on a long quest to solve a galactic conspiracy. You will be able to customize your ship hence the RPG-like feeling. There will be action because during your quest, you will often face one-versus-one fights. The blocks called "gems" in this game will act as energy for your equipment, or mines to deal damage to your enemies.

Most of the trophies in Puzzle Quest: Galactrix are straightforward but luck will take a great part on whether it will be easy for you to get them or not.

Walkthough:

Step 1: Story Mode: Beginning to Near-end playthrough.

You should first play the story mode to learn the game basics and discover the various mini-games. You will get the 'FTL Travel' trophy first. I highly suggest that you go for the "Eighth of the Lost" trophy afterward. This will make the rest of the game a bit less frustrating. On the way, you will also get the "Master Hacker" trophy. Progress until near the end of the main quest and you should have earned "Soul Gatherer", "Data Acquisition" and "Illumiation" trophies.

Step 2: Story Mode: Grinding or Main quest end ?

Now the choice is completely yours on whether you should focus on the "Ace Pilot" trophy (very time-consuming) before or after getting the "Gamma's Downfall" trophy (Main quest end).

Step 3: Online ranked matches

Done with Story Mode? Compare your skills (and luck?) with real people now in ranked matches in Multiplayer Mode. After 50 wins, you will get "Fighter Pilot" and "Space-Time Anomaly".

Since the online is pretty dead now, I highly suggest you boost the online trophies. If you want a partner, check this thread.

Step 4: Clean up

Did you miss a trophy in story mode? Try your best to get them now. In my opinion, "Smooth Talker" and "Rockstar" are the hardest trophies to get. I hope you will be lucky and get them quickly. Otherwise, you shouldn't have any problem with the rest.

Closing notes:

Keep in mind that I have the french version of this game so if there are any errors with the mission names, please say it in your comment. If you want to share tips, strategies, complaints, etc. feel free to comment.

If you have really important remarks about this guide (e.g. better way to get a trophy), and I didn't reply on this thread, send me a private message.

Important note: Often back up your save file on a external device! The game freezes from time to time and this can corrupt your save file and you will have to start from scratch. I've learned it the hard way...

Thank you for reading and have fun with this uncommon but interesting puzzle game.

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/01.jpgSoul Gatherer (B)

You have captured a Soulless and discovered their true nature.

:tagstory:

You will get this trophy by following the main quest. After Petz (the anthropomorphic rat) joined your crew, you will have mission in the Elysia system. You will then go to the Polaris system.

Beat the ship on this system and you will earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/02.jpgIllumination (B)

You have defeated the Luminary Archive.

:tagstory:

You will get this trophy by following the main quest. After the missions where you got the "Data Acquisition" trophy, you will get a mission on the Icarus system.

You will have to scan the Icarus Alpha planet and fight 3 opponents: two defensive turrets and a ship which is the Luminary Archive. Destroy it and you will unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/05.jpgEighth of the Lost (B)

You have unlocked all Psi Powers.

Begin this fairly long side-quest starting with a mission located on the planet Ceti IV in the Ceti system. You will then have to finish several missions scattered very widely on the galaxy map.

These missions are called "... of the Lost" ranged in a logical order ("1st of the Lost" then "2nd ..." then "3rd ..." etc.). After each mission is cleared, you will unlock a Psi power. Once you have cleared the last mission ("Chief of the Lost"), the trophy is yours.

Notes: A Psi power will allow you to avoid fights against hostile ships in exchange of Psi points (earned while making purple-gem series during fights).

These fights occur when travelling in red-colored systems.

The more Psi power you have unlocked, the more ships you will be able to avoid. However, the harder the enemy is, the more Psi points are necessary to avoid them.

Anyway, once you have unlocked all Psi Powers, the random fights will not happen anymore.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/06.jpgFTL Travel (B)

You have hacked a LeapGate.

:tagstory:

This will most likely be your first trophy. You will get it just by playing the main quest-line. Check "Master Hacker" description for further information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/07.jpgMaster Hacker (B)

You have hacked 30 LeapGates.

You will get LeapGate hacking missions when going towards gates (which look like the object on the trophy tile).

In the hacking missions, you have to clear a given number of gem series in a limited time. The hud on the upper right corner will indicate which gem color you have to make a series from. The clock-looking gems will give you extra time if you form a series with them.

The time limit and number of series required will vary from Leapgate to Leapgate.

You will most likely get it if you go for the "Eight of the Lost" trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/08.jpgRock Star (B)

You have successfully mined 10 asteroids.

You have to complete successfully 10 mining mini-games. This mini-game is located on spiky asteroids. They have some random combination of letters and digits as names (e.g. "E3CF36J").

The mini-game goal is to get the required amount (shown at the beginning of the mini-game) of the 3 resources on the asteroids.

If you finish the mini-game with a "Black Hole", it won't count as a success. Once finished, the asteroid won't be minable until you mine 3 other asteroids.

The resource quantities needed will vary from asteroid to asteroid.

Little tips: You can quit and retry the mining game to get a better gem disposition.

The following asteroids have small mining requirements (the numbers between brackets) so they should be quite easy to mine. Furthermore, the systems they belong to are quite close to each other.

E3CF36J - Erebus system (15/10/3)

E50A56P - Erebus system (18/12/4)

BK409B - Ceti system (10/7/2)

JH69T - Vega system (10/6/1)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/10.jpgData Acquisition (B)

You have unlocked a rumor.

:tagstory:

You will get this trophy by following the main quest. Not too long after the missions where you got the "Soul Gatherer" trophy, you will come across some missions involving priests in the Quesada system.

You will then meet your last crew member Elgara in a mission in the Ramses system and access the "rumor" mini-game. Once you have completed it, the trophy will pop up.

Notes: The goal of the "rumor" mini-game is to spend turns on the board without making any series of glowing-radioactive-sign gems. The "rumor" mini-game is available on most of the small planets with a satellite. Furthermore, this mini-game is a good way to earn Intel points so once you want to grind to get the "Ace Pilot" trophy. You should especially look for them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/11.jpgFighter Pilot (B)

You have won 5 ranked PlayStation®Network matches.

:tagonline::tagmulti:

Check "Space-Time Anomaly" description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/04.jpgAce Pilot (S)

You have reached Level 50.

This is the most time-consuming trophy of the game. You level up by earning Intel points. You can earn Intel points by completing quests or by making gray-block series during fights only.

You will unlock this trophy once you have reached Level 50 (which requires 13,230 Intel points).

Notes: You won't gain enough Intel points just by doing the main quest so the choice is yours to either grind the Intel points while doing the main quest or after. The "rumor" mini-game is one of the best way to earn Intel points. Check "Data Acquisition" description for further information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/09.jpgSmooth Talker (S)

You have completed the Haggling minigame with 6 Gems or less on the board.

You will unlock the Haggling mini-game once you meet Petz (an anthropomorphic rat) during the main quest. You can play the haggling mini-game whenever you are in a shop by pressing :l1:.

The mini-game goal is to have as few gems as possible on the board. To get this trophy you must have 6 gems or less at the end of the mini-game. This one takes some time and a lot of luck like the rest of the game.

Important note: you can retry the mini-game as often as you want but the trophy will unlock only after you quit the mini-game with 6 gems or less. So as soon as you finish with 6 gems or less, quit the mini-game immediately. I found this out the hard way.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/12.jpgSpace-Time Anomaly (S)

You have won 50 ranked PlayStation®Network matches.

:tagonline::tagmulti:

From the main menu go to multiplayer and select "Ranked match." You will unlock this trophy once you have won 50 matches. You can try to get this trophy "legitimately,"however since the online is pretty dead now, I suggest you find a partner in this thread.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/133/03.jpgGamma's Downfall (G)

You have defeated the Gamma Sphere.

:tagstory:

You will get this trophy by following the main quest. You will fight it(/him?) during the penultimate main quest mission. There are many strategies to beat him. I went with a cheap turn-blocking strategy. I beat him on my first attempt with 140 HP left but I was level 50.

Once you have destroyed the Gamma Sphere, this nice gold trophy will be yours.
