Introduction:

Puzzle Dimension is a PSN release from Doctor Entertainment AB, an indie game developer in Sweden that is just getting their feet wet with this excellent puzzle game that is fun to play, graphically pleasing and provides us with 100 levels of puzzle solving for the price of admission. As is the case most of the time with trophy runs and puzzle games you should prepare yourself to pour in a lot of time (and patience) into this one. BUT, unlike other puzzle games, most of the time spent on this trophy run will be due to the fact that 100 puzzle IS a lot of content that needs to be taken care of.

Before you start, take these TIPS into consideration:

- The higher your multiplier, the more points you'll get once you collect flowers or unpixelate more blocks. How do you raise your multiplier? By unpixelating as many blocks as possible in a short amount of time! There’s a multiplier bar on the upper right side of the screen that will let you see how much progress you’re making and you’ll see your multiplier grow and double each time from 1x to 2x to 4x to 8x to 16x and all the way up to 32x.

- ALWAYS unpixelate 100% of each level as you run into them. Doing this will allow you to get a good enough score for the level AND will save you time overall as it is easier to find the best route to do this by repeatedly playing a level until you get it right. Going back and forth between levels will increase your overall time as you might forget about what progress you had made and you’ll have to start over again. In case you don't do it like this you'll be able to easily locate the levels where you didn't unpixelate everything as it will have a white circle in the middle of it (instead of a green one).

Block Types

You run into these blocks as you progress in the game and, while the game itself holds your hand while introducing new blocks, it's nice to have a listing for those researching all the info needed to understand what needs to be done for a 100% trophy:

What are the block types available? Here's a list for easy reference:

  • Regular Blocks: Name says it all. They have no added effects on your trajectory and are the ones that populate most of the levels.

  • Cracked Blocks: Can only be passed over once. They're usually an important part of a puzzle and need to be used properly to complete it but in most of them they exist for the sole purpose of allowing you to get used to them for the advanced levels. Do remember that Cracked Blocks also give you points which is especially important for the "Replay" trophy.

  • Ice Blocks: When you travel over them you'll continue to move in the same direction and won't stop until you hit a non-ice one. Great help for when you've found the solution and want to do a quick replay as they help keep you moving non-stop.

  • Sand Blocks: These you'll hate in the last two clusters. When you move over a Sand Block you'll stop on a dime and won't be able to move out of it unless you jump (golf, huh?). Easy at first but they WILL make you have to restart several puzzles because you didn't plan accordingly.

  • Springs: Bounce away! You'll jump over two blocks and land on the third one with the help of this block. Be careful as you'll jump in the same direction that you were moving before hitting them and with a limited playing field that could mean you'll land in nothing at all.

  • Switch Blocks: They make blocks appear in pre-designated spaces (you can identify them since you'll see a white outline were one could be placed) or switch on/off the Spike Blocks that threaten your existence. Speaking of which...

  • Spike Blocks: Touch them and you're dead. It's that simple. They can be deactivated by touching a Switch Block but they could instead be activated at another spot so look before you move, bounce, jump, fall or leap in any direction.

  • BBQ Blocks: Even MORE annoying than Sand Blocks! At first you think it's just a harmless grill-equipped Block so you politely make your way across it... and then the flames are ignited! Touching it again will destroy you so you must be extra careful as they're placed near switches, springs or chasms you must cross to complete a level and it's a one way street that ruins your perfect runs in a hearth beat.

Step 1: Complete the tutorial

For this game, the tutorial is your best friend. You'll have a hard time understanding how the game works without lots of "trial and error" if you decide to not do the tutorial.

Step 2: Unlock And Complete All Levels

You'll unlock more and more levels as you go along and it is HIGHLY suggested that you complete each level in order as skipping ahead might mean you'll also skip on learning about a new type of block that was introduced into the mix a couple of levels ago.

Step 3: Clean Up

If you didn't follow the TIPS then you won't have the "Unpixelat0r" or "Total score: Gold" trophies by the time you're done with the last set of levels. You'll have to go back and replay several levels to get your score back on track and to unpixelate everything. You're in luck as the levels where you didn't unpixelate all blocks (identified by a white circle in the middle of level icon) are the ones that will increase your score the most since you missed out on having a high multiplier AND on getting the “special points” bonus for turning all pixels into glorious HD graphics.

Puzzle Dimension Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/01.jpg Unpixelat0r (G)

Unpixelate all blocks in the game

This, along with the “Total Score: Gold” trophy, is the one you’ll get late in the game. How late? Once you’ve unpixelated the last block in the last level that needed to be taken care of. Since the game has level select available for you can always go back and take care of all levels.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/02.jpg Supermultiplier (B)

Get a multiplier of 16

Easily obtained at Cluster 2 (Jump in Fire) on the 7th level. Follow the next set of instructions as is and you’ll quickly get your 16x multiplier (move in the corresponding direction and DO NOT change the camera angle at any moment):

Up, Right, Grab Flower, Up and left to the spring, Grab Flower, Up to Spring, Grab Flower, Down and Right to Spring, Land on Flower, Jump Right, Jump Left, Left, Jump Up, Right to Spring and to the exit.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/03.jpg Übermultiplier (B)

Get a multiplier of 32

This one you can get on Cluster 4 (Shifting Sands), Level 8. As was the case with the “Supermultiplier” trophy, follow the next couple of steps to check off this trophy from your list (Ice makes you slide so all moves must be done one at a time once you hit a block that stops you. There a small time window to do the sequence but you’ll understand it once you give it a try or two):

Left, Jump Up, Jump Right, Jump Right, Up, Left, Up, Up, Up, Right, Right, Down, Left, Right, Jump Right, Jump Right, Jump Up, Jump down, Down, Jump Right, Jump Up, Jump Up, Jump Up, Jump Up, Up.

Score over 190 on the first puzzle in Broken Ice

Start the level by moving back and unpixelating the portal then move back up and jump over the cracked block and move until you’re in front of the Flower but don't grab it. Instead, go down and jump over the cracked block and now move left and repeat the same instructions. Finally, move right doing the same but this time grab that Flower, move over the cracked block (remember, these give points as well!) and do the same for the flower to the left, then for the flower on the top and finally exit the level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/05.jpg Score more 1 (B)

Score over 500 in a puzzle

Obtained at the same time as the “Supermultiplier” trophy if you follow the instructions for it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/06.jpg Score more 2 (S)

Score over 1,000 in a puzzle

Obtained at the same time as the “Übermultiplier” trophy if you follow the instructions for it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/07.jpg Total score: Bronze (B)

Get a total score of 10,000

See “Total score: Gold”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/08.jpg Total score: Silver (S)

Get a total score of 25,000

See “Total score: Gold”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1117/09.jpg Total score: Gold (G)

Get a total score of 50,000

Make sure to get your multiplier as high as possible on each level and try to get the flowers until the last possible moment so you can cash in on that high multiplier you got. Last three clusters are where you’ll really make the most progress as they offer the most possible points in the whole game. To give you an idea on how you’ll be making progress, the “Total score: Bronze” trophy should unlock around Cluster 5 (Hidden Blocks) on level 5 or 6 and “Total score: Silver” will be obtained around Cluster 7 (Flat) on Level 1, 2 or 3 tops if you’ve been doing things right. Now, Total Score: Gold? You'll get that once you reach Cluster 10 (The End... how fitting, huh?) on either level 5 or 6 if you've gotten as high a score as possible. Don't worry if you haven't reached 50,000 by this point as levels in cluster 10 have high score chances all around.
