In Puppeteer you take control of a wooden puppet named Katuro who is on the hunt to take down the Moon Bear Pig who has stolen his head and trapped the souls of other puppets. Equipped with the Calibrus (a magical pair of scisors), Katuro must travel through various worlds and landscapes tracking down pieces of Moonstone, freeing souls of other puppets and killing the Moon Bear Pigs Generals. Puppeteer is a great game, with a good story for a side-scrolling platformer. It can be challenging at times, and the levels are varied enough for it not to feel repetitive. The trophies aren't very difficult, just time consuming with a lot of collectibles.

Note: The below walkthrough is just a guide and is how I personally approached the game. There are no missable trophies, and you are free to unlock them in any order you wish. I do suggest leaving the collectibles till last as you will probably have completed a large proportion of them whilst progressing through the first few steps. Furthermore, collectibles can be tracked at the main menu/ level select screen of the game, so there is no need to keep a personal record of which ones you have collected.

Step 1- Play through the game and unlock all story related trophies.

Simple enough, just play through all 21 levels across the 7 Acts of the game. Don't worry about collectibles, just get used to the game mechanics and controls. You will also unlock a few miscellaneous and kill related trophies during this step. At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)Recapitated

(B)What the Cat Drags In

(B)Calibrus Unleashed

(B)Soul Searcher

(B)A Toothache Names Disaster

(B)Death of a Sales Rat

(B)Long Snake's Journey Into Plight

(B)Much Apork About Mutton

(B)The Flawed Couple

(B)The Taming of the Moo

(B)Dog on a Short Tin Leash

(B)Fiddler on the Woof

(B)Bye Bye Bunnie

(B)La cage aux Fowls

(B)A Funny Thing Happened on the Way up the Dragon

(B)The Spacemonkey Falleth

(B)Ursus Descending

Step 2- Obtain the curtain specific trophies

There are numerous trophies that can only be obtained in specific levels of the game. They range from interacting with the environment at certain times with Ying-Yang or Pikarina to completing levels without taking not taking damage. You will also unlock a few miscellaneous and kill related trophies during this step. At the end of this step, you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)The Tyrant's Inner Tyrant

(B)Mass Exodus

(B)The Cruelty of Youth

(B)Fly Beta kappa

(B)Every Squirrel Has Its Thorns

(B)Predictably Gullible

(B)Better Squidaddle

(B)Crabbherd: It's Like a Shepherd for Crabs

(B)Flagrant Misconduct

(B)Hole-Diggin' Varmints!

(B)Strapping Jockey

(B)Is That a Mask, or Is That Your Face?

(B)Butterball Bailout

(B)Nosferatu Blues

(B)A Speech for Sore ears

(B)Shmup to Scratch

(B)No Dragon Your Heels

(B)On the Rocks

(B)...But Can You Parallel Park?

Step 3- Two Player/ Co-op trophies

There are a few trophies that require a second player. As there is no online, this must be done via local co-op with two controllers, or by changing the settings of your first player controller to player two by holding down the PS button. They aren't too difficult, and you should be able to get them all by using either method.

At the end of this step, you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)Double Trouble

(B)I'll Second String YOU!

(B)Supporting Sparkleholic

(B)Who Needs Enemies?

Step 4- Kill related and miscellaneous trophies

There are various kill related and miscellaneous trophies in the game. You should unlock a lot of them just through natural progression of the game, and you might have already unlocked a few by the time you reach this step. At the end of this step, you should have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)Bonus Maximus

(B)Shear Genius?

(B)It's a Grubby Job, But...

(B)Moon Gravity

(B)Super Chivalry Deflection Master

(B)Super Ninjitsu Kablooey Master

(B)Super Luchador Pancake Master

(B)Super Buccaneer Grapply Master

(B)The Other Flying Circus

(B)Surgical Strike

(S)The Wooden Shoe Drops

(B)Luna Kazooed

(B)Three-Second Rule

(B)Triple Tete

Step 5- Collectibles and clean up

There are many different collectibles in this game, and as such this will probably be the longest step of the game. At the same time you should clean up whatever remaining trophies you need. At the end of this step, you will have unlocked the following trophies:

(B)Sparktacular

(B)Head Hunter

(S)Head Hoarder

(B)Soul Searcherer

(S)Soul Searcherest

(B)Lead Sparkleholic

(B)Read Between the Lines

(G)Now That's Using Your Head (Hur, Hur)

(P)Best Actor

You must then throw a bomb at the visible section of tail and then climb back up the smoke to body slam the same said section and then take care of the grubs that appear. Repeat this process a total of two times in order to progress the fight further.

This is the final part of the fight and again it will begin with you cutting along a section of General Dragons tail. Set 22 puppet children free in a single playthrough.

This trophy is unlocked in Act I, Curtain II. You will need to set the 22 puppet children free by pressing :r2: on their hidden locations throughout the level. During the first half of the level they are hidden behind walls, usually in groups of three. Once you reach the rooftop area they are harder to locate, and are usually found on their own rather then in groups. It's worth noting that you are allowed to lose your head/ die. You don't have to recollect the puppets during your playthrough. Furthermore, as the trophy description suggests, you need to set all puppet children free in a single playthrough, not over multiple attempts.

This trophy is unlocked in Act II, Curtain I. There are a total of 4 butterflies that need to be cut with the Calibrus. You must first find the Catepillars and then press :r2: on them with Pikarina to turn them into butterflies. they will then slowly fly away so make sure you cut them down straight away with Calibrus by pressing :square:.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/0B1.jpg Fly Beta Kappa (B)

Defeat the Kappagaeru without touching the ground.

This trophy can be obtained in Act II, Curtain II whilst fighting the Kappageru which is a mini boss you will face roughly half way through the level. In order to unlock this trophy you must not land on either platform to the left or right of the screen. Remain in the air by continually cutting the purple mesh by spamming :square:. Unlike some other materials that can be cut, the purple mesh will not disappear once you cut it. The boss only has a few attacks which can easily be dodged by moving back and forth from left to right on the screen. Throw bombs at her head by pressing :circle:. It takes a total of 6 bombs to defeat her.

Tips-

- Try and stay as high on the mesh as you can as at certain points of the fight the purple mesh disappears for a few seconds and you are left in the air with nothing to cut.

- If you accidentally land on one of the platforms, kill yourself by jumping towards the Kappagaeru and lose all 3 of your heads. You will then restart at the beginning of the boss fight as opposed to having to replay the entire level over.

This trophy is unlocked in Act II, Curtain II. Once you defeat the Kappagaeru you will leave the swampy area and will now be climbing up the side of a tree. You come to a section where you have to jump on three consecutive mushrooms and then land in front of 3 grubs. Once you kill them jump on the big mushroom to your right and continue to the right as opposed to going up to continue the level. You will see a large hole in the tree with a big squirrel inside. Use Pikarina to interact with the squirrel by pressing :r2:. The trophy will unlock once the squirrel knocks your head off with her knife and fork.

See the below video by Wozamil for the exact location of the squirrel in the level-

Shoot down all the seagulls using the deck cannons.

This trophy is unlocked in Act III, Curtain I. There are a total of 3 seagulls that need to be shot down, which are located on the deck of the ship. Once you get on the deck of the ship continue past the sharks until you come to what looks like a clothes line with pirate clothes on it in which you must cut along with the Calibrus. In the background of the level, i.e. the other side of the deck, will be a cannon and the first seagull flying in front of it. Use Pikarina to fire the cannon by pressing :r2: when the seagull flies directly in front of it. You will need to hit it twice in order to shoot it down. Once you cross the the next section by cutting across the pirates clothing you will see 2 canons and 2 seagulls in the background. Repeat the process of shooting them down and the trophy will unlock.

See the below video by Wozamil for the exact location of the seagulls and cannons in the level-

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/055.jpg Better Squidaddle (B)

Don't take any damage while riding the squid.

This trophy is unlocked in Act III, Curtain II. This may take you a few attempts to unlock, but its not all that difficult once you learn the layout of the level. You must complete all sections of the level where you are riding on the back of the squid without taking any damage, i.e. you cannot lose your head. You will need to jump over the sea urchins by pressing :cross: and also duck under them by holding . Be sure to time your jumps onto the jellyfish when bouncing and pay extra attention when you pick up a shrimp as the squid you are riding gains a lot more speed.

The level starts of pretty easy, but as you progress timing becomes more crucial and there are more types of enemies/ hazards in which you need to avoid. You will come across angler fish which you need to jump over and crabs, but they get out of your way so just ignore them. When you get to the last section of the squid ride you will be getting chased by a giant angler fish and you must jump over the smaller fish he sends after you from behind. Once you jump the last of the angler fish and get to the sunken ship, the trophy will unlock.

Look out for specific head actions during the Take no damage... related trophies, as some of them can make skip entire sections of the level which might help if you are having trouble. Thanks to neosnake101 for this tip.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/28B.jpg Crabherd: It's Like a Shepherd for Crabs (B)

Keep all the baby crabs safe.

This trophy is unlocked in Act III, Curtain III. In total there are 3 sets of baby crabs in which you must protect in this level. The first of which is located once you get outside of the engine room section of the level. Look to the left and they will be on the wall. Use Pikarina to make them follow you by pressing :r2: on them. You must heard this first set past the dropping barrows and into the crack in the wall. Pause between each barrel to avoid any crabs being hit.

The second set of crabs is located on the other side of the dark room in which you pass through. Grab the hooks of the first two cannons and cut your way over the gap using the Calibrus. When you reach the third cannon you will see the set of crabs to the right. Herd them over with :r2: before you pull the hook on the cannon with :triangle:. Again you will have to avoid the falling barrels. To do so drop down into the space and only progress when it is safe to do so. The crabs will enter a crack in the wall just beyond the third falling barrel.

The third set of crabs are located just beyond the second dark room you pass through. There is only 3 crabs in this set as opposed to 6 in the previous sets. Press :r2: on them when controlling Pikarina and they will immediately enter the slit in the wall to their left. There are no obstacles or enemies in which you must avoid for this set. The trophy will unlock once the final set of crabs enters the slit in the wall and the moonsparkles drop down.

For a tip to make this trophy even easier, see the below tip from solstice

1. For the Crabherd - It's Like a Shepherd for Crabs, you can actually avoid the barrels altogether. Before each barrel section, there is a cracked area in the wall. If you interact with them with Pikarina, it will break open and you will see two grubs who are throwing the barrels. They will hop out and you can kill them, and the holes in the wall where the barrels came out of will close up for good.

See the below video by Wozamil for the exact locations of these crabs in the level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/D89.jpg Flagrant Misconduct (B)

Foul the Witch in the wrestling ring.

This trophy is unlocked in Act IV, Curtain I. Once you get to the end of the canyon section, investigate the pile of bones on the ground in front of you with :r2: to start the tutorial for the Body Slam. Once the witch appears stay in the middle of the screen and don't walk over to her when she asks you to come closer. rather start throwing bombs at her and she will lose her balance and start to sway. Quickly press :triangle: to grab her with your claw to foul her. Once you successfully do this the trophy will unlock. If you accidentally move close to her and progress the tutorial, press :start: and choose 'Select an Act', choose the same level and select the option of beginning from the middle of the level. This will make you start at the back at the beginning of the tutorial, saving you from having to replay the first half of the level again.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/FFB.jpg Hole-Diggin' Varmints! (B)

Save all the Wild Waste locals.

This trophy is unlocked in Act IV, Curtain I. After progressing through the canyons area at the start of the level you will arrive at an old western town. The first locals are located in the second scene of the town on the top of the right hand side building. Once you make your way up investigate the wooden structure with Pikarina by pressing :r2:. The next locals are in the prison on the left hand side building. You will need to body slam from the roof with :r1: and then press :r2: on the local that remains in the prison. The final set of locals are in the scene with the overturned horse and carriage. Climb the left hand side structure and investigate the wooden water reservoir at the top. The trophy will unlock once you investigate the structure with Pikarina by pressing :r2:.

It's worth noting that the trophy is cumulative, meaning that you don't need to save all locals in the one playthrough of the level. See the below video by Wozamil for the exact locations of the Wild Waste locals in the level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/3EC.jpg Strapping Jockey (B)

Win the train race without taking any damage.

You will unlock this trophy in Act IV, Curtain II. It is similar to the Better Squidaddle trophy. However, rather then riding a squid you will be riding a horse. The race will start once you have cut your way along Route 66 at the start of the level. I found this trophy a little difficult as there is next to no room for error. Furthermore, the race consists of both platforming and racing. You will change between the two a few times before the race is over. When you are riding the horse you will need to jump over spikes, scorpions, dynamtive and fire balls by pressing :cross:. You will also need to duck under the same types of hazards by pressing . Pay extra attention when you run into carrots as the horse will pick up speed.

When you are platforming along the train you will need to watch out for the grubs as they will throw spike balls at you. It's worth noting that if you regain your head when it gets knocked you will NOT be able to unlock the trophy. Be careful of the zoo animals you come across as well, as they can cause damage to you if you aren't careful. During the last platforming section, you will have to cut your way along smoke coming from the trains engine. Be careful of the areas in which you have to jump over. There is no need to go as fast as you can so don't span :square:, just take your time and press :cross: to jump the required gaps.

Look out for specific head actions during the Take no damage... related trophies, as some of them can make skip entire sections of the level which might help if you are having trouble. Thanks to neosnake101 for this tip.

The trophy will unlock once you cross the finish line and the fight against General Horse begins. See the below video by Wozamil for a walkthrough of the first half of the level, the video did not record/ upload properly, so the full version is not available. However, I don't think it is needed after a few attempts at the trophy.

Peek in on all the wrestlers' home lives.

You will unlock this trophy in Act IV, Curtain III. You will need to investigate the wrestlers homes as you progress through the level. They are all located behind white windows, which you can investigate with Pikarina by pressing :r2:. It is difficult to describe their locations in text, so I advise you watch the below video by Wozamil for their exact locations. Note that the last two on the platforms that can be body slammed, you need to perform the body slam more then once for it to count. The first house requires 3 slams and the second requires 5 slams. You perform a body slam by pressing :r1:.

Find the secret route while on a diet.

You will unlock this trophy in in Act V, Curtain II. During this level will be inside a fat boys stomach rolling through the level. You need to cut the Calirbus by pressing :square: to pick up speed and press :cross: to jump over the various hazards. Towards the end of this section once you jump up the falling platforms will come to a part with large caterpillars on the ground between pots of fire. You need to jump off the first one by pressing :cross: to enter the secret passage above. If you miss it just lose all three of your heads by jumping on the fire and you will restart at a previous checkpoint. This saves having to restart the whole level again. The trophy will unlock once you enter the next section.

See the below video by Wozamil for the exact location of the secret route and how to get there.

Listen to Dracula's entire rant.

You will unlock this trophy in Act V, Curtain III. In the section following the fight with the giant skeleton, there will be a coffin with a body slam icon on top/ You will first need to remove the spider webs by cutting around the outside with your Calibrus. Next use the hands on the ground to jump high above the coffin and perform a body slam by pressing :r1:. Dracula will then emerge from the coffin and start complaining. Simple stay in this area and wait for the trophy to pop.

See the below video by Wozamil for the exact location of Dracula and how to get him out of his coffin.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/79F.jpg A Speech for Sore Ears (B)

Wear yourself out listening to Mr. Pink.

You will unlock this trophy in Act VI, Curtain II. The requirements for this trophy are a little vague. You must listen to everything Mr. Pink has to say without skipping any dialogue. You will first meet him at the start of the level when you cut down the plant in front of you. Whenever he is speaking just stand still and wait for him to finish. The key is not to progress through the level to quick as this will cause Mr. Pink to skip parts of his speech. If you successfully listen to everything he has to say, the trophy will unlock shortly after he is kidnapped by general Rooster.

See the below video by Wozamil for a complete walkthrough of the trophy.

Shoot down all the pigeon squadrons.

You will unlock this trophy in Act VI, Curtain II. Towards the end of the level you will be climbing up the clock tower. At two locations will be a bird house which you need to investigate with Pikarina by pressing :r2:. A flock of pigeons will remove from each and fly around for a little bit. You must quickly shoot them down by pressing :r2: on them with Pikarina. There are 5 pigeons in the first bird house, and 10 in the second. You leave it too long they will disappear so spam :r2: as soon as they start flying. the trophy will unlock once you have shot down the last of the pigeons.

See the video below by Wozamil for the exact locations of the bird houses and the pigeons.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/F59.jpg No Dragon Your Heels (B)

Make it across General Dragon's back without taking any damage.

You will unlock this trophy in Act VI, Curtain III. You will be riding on the back of Mr. Pink the Flammingos back whilst making your way along General Dragons back. For the first part of the level you will need to dodge lightning and spikes by either jumping with :cross: or ducking by holding . Later in the level you will need to jump over fireballs which can be tricky as they appear quite close to you. Pay extra attention when you pick up bottles of chilli as Mr. Pink will gain a lot of speed for a short period of time. Watch out for the lightning when you are cutting the clouds with the Calibrus in the second half of the level, press :cross: to jump over them when necessary and be sure not overly spam :square: so you don't pick up too much speed causing you to miss the jumps and lose your head. The trophy isn't overly difficult, but may take a few attempts to unlock.

Look out for specific head actions during the Take no damage... related trophies, as some of them can make skip entire sections of the level which might help if you are having trouble. Thanks to neosnake101 for this tip.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/658.jpg On the Rocks (B)

Reunite all the iceberg dwellers for a toast.

You will unlock this trophy in Act VII, Curtain I. There are a total of 6 iceberg dwellers you must interact with by pressing :r2: on them with Pikarina. They can be found in the following locations in the level-

1. Once you General Monkey jump down a big hole in the ground you will enter an underground location. Continue along until you come across a large ice block. Investigate it by pressing :r2: on it. Then grab the hook by pressing :triangle:. Continue up this path and the ice dweller is above you.

2. The second ice dweller is located behind a bomb rock just below the location of the hook you pulled for ice dweller number 1.

3. You will then drop down onto a slide and race an ice dweller. Hold  to gain speed and press :cross: to jump off the ramp at the end. You must gain enough air to make it past the 'K' flag. You will know if you have successfully jumped far enough as Pikarino will tell you and you will also be applauded by your opponent at the finish line.

4. You will then go down another slide and will soon be approached by a large snow ball from behind. You must destroy the snow ball to reveal the ice dweller by rapidly pressing :r2: on it with Pikarina.

5. Once you destroy the snowball you will need to jump onto the cuttable seam and press :square: to use your Calibrus. Continue you cutting until you come along a frozen mammoth. Press :r2: on it once you have finished cutting around it.

6. The final ice dweller is behind the mammoth 'wheel of fortune' mini game. You will come across this as you continue to cut along the seam after the frozen mammoth. Once the game has finished, the ice dweller will be frozen in ice behind it. Press:r2: on it with Pikarina to set him free.

Once you make it to the bottom of the slide, you will find all the ice dwellers together. Simply press :r2: on them and a group photo will be taken. The trophy will unlock shortly after. See the below video by Wozamil for a the exact locations of the ice dwellers.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/EB5.jpg ...But Can You Parallel Park? (B)

Make it through outer space without taking any damage.

You will unlock this trophy in Act VII, Curtain I. This is the last of the no damage, race based trophies. I found it to be a lot easier then the previous ones, mainly as I knew the mechanics of how it worked and my timing had become better with practice. You will get to choose from three different items to ride on, I don't think there is any difference between them. In saying so, I chose the spaceship. During this section of the level you will need to jump over rocks and green aliens by pressing :cross:. The purple aliens will get out of your way on their own so you don't need to do anything to avoid them. Pay extra attention whilst going for this trophy as there are a few confusing sections when you have to go upside down. The same methods apply in regards to getting past the enemies and hazards as when you are the right way up.

See the below video by Wozamil for a complete walkthrough of the trophy.

All the following trophies in this require a second player. As stated in the walkthrough, this can be done by using two controlelrs or by changing player 1 controller to player 2 by holding down the PS button.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/EC3.jpg Double Trouble (B)

Play with a friend for the first time.

When playing with two players, the second player takes control of Ying-Yang or Pikarina. To play two players, you must have the second controller turned on and once your in a level you will have control of the second character. The trophy will unlock shortly after you start any level.

Note: If player two is idle for a few seconds, i.e. doesn't press any buttons, player one will retake control of Ying-yang or Pikarina. Once player two presses a button they will be able to retake control of the character again.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/75A.jpg I'll Second String YOU! (B)

PLAYER 2: Defeat 50 grubs.

In order to defeat a grub with player two you must grab their head by repeatedly pressing :circle: on them, and then throw the head away by pressing :circle: again. The soul canister will then by floating in the air and you must press :circle: on it to release the soul and defeat the enemy.

When you throw away the grubs head it will turn into a head in which player one can then pick up. This is a good strategy if you are looking for different heads to do certain actions in a level, or if you are low on heads and need some more so you don't lose any more lives. Once you defeat 50 grubs with player two, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/2E8.jpg Supporting Sparkleholic (B)

PLAYER 2: Collect 3,000 Moonsparkles.

To pick up moonsparkles with player two just move into them as you would normally with Kataro in single player. Best option is to go for this trophy whilst going for other trophies. In general the Bonus Stages are the best for gathering moonsparkles, but depending on what level you choose you may run out of time pretty quick. There is no in game counter for moonsparkles, so you won't be able to keep track of how many you have collected. Once you do reach 3000, the trophy will unlock.

I found the Act V, Curtain I Bonus Stage to be the easiest to collect moonsparkles with player 2. As soon as the level starts use the pig head action with player 1 by pressing  (if you have already found this head in Act II, Curtain II then you will automatically start the level with it). Let player one just bounce up and down on the pigs whilst you move around Pikarina and collect the moonsparkles with the second controller. You will only have to move player 1 once to get higher in the level. There are no threats in this level so you will finish it every time in about 40 seconds. Simply replay the level and do it again. From start to finish the trophy should only take approximately 30 minutes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/FA9.jpg Who Needs Enemies? (B)(H)

PLAYER 2: Throw away Player 1's head 10 times.

The buttons for controlling Ying-yang and Pikarina are different for player two as opposed to player one when playing on single player. As player two, use the :ls: to control the character and :circle: to investigate the environment. In order to grab player one's head you need to repeatedly press :circle: when hovering on top of him. Then simply move away and drop the head by pressing :circle: again. Player one must not regather his lost head otherwise it won't count for this trophy. You must throw it away permanently, resulting in player one losing a head. Once you have done this 10 times, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/158.jpg Bonus Maximus (B)

Complete all Bonus Stages within the time limit.

In total there are 21 Bonus Stages, with one to be unlocked in each level of the game. They are unlocked by using a specific head action at the corresponding head action prompt. You will naturally unlock all Bonus Stages as you work towards the Now That's Using Your Head trophy. Once you begin the Bonus Stage you only get one life so if you fall you will die and return to the normal level, without having lost any lives or heads. The Bonus Stages themselves are pretty straight forward, you just have to collect Moonsparkles and progress through the level and reach the end before the time runs out. All unlocked Bonus Stages can be replayed at any time at the Act select screen, under the 'Bonus Stages' menu.

Refer to the Now That's Using Your Head (Hur, Hur) trophy below for the exact location and required head actions to unlock all Bonus Stages. These are highlighted by the 'BONUS STAGE' tag at the end of their description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/683.jpg Shear Genius? (B)

Make 10,000 cuts with Calibrus.

This will unlock through natural progression of the game, and replaying levels for various other trophies. You will unlock the Calibrus in Act I, Curtain I, and you press :square: to use it. For me the trophy unlocked during the credits when your cutting your way through space.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/CC4.jpg It's a Grubby Job, But... (B)

Defeat 1,000 grubs.

In total there are 592 Grubs in the game, so this trophy will take more then a single playthrough of the game too unlock. As you will need to replay all levels numerous times for collectible and other related trophies you will unlock this trophy without needing to focus much on it. It's worth noting that it doesn't have to be 582 different grubs, any grub you kill whilst replaying levels will count.

If you do want to farm these kills, the best location/ level to do this in is Act V, Curtain II. There are a total of 43 grubs in this level, all of which are located in the first section of the level. During this section you will be rolling inside a fat boys stomach, and you will need to spam :square: to pick up speed and progress through the level. It is very hard to miss even a single grub as they are all positioned directly in your path and it's just a matter of running them down to kill. This section ends when you crash into the gate. From here press :start: and select 'Select an Act' to return to the level select screen (this will save your progress, including all grubs you just killed). Select the same level and start again and repeat the process.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/ECF.jpg Moon Gravity (B)

Use cuts 100 times to juggle grubs and keep them in the air.

This trophy is cumulative and you should unlock it pretty early on in the game, for me it was in Act II, Curtain III. It's pretty hard to miss and there isn't much of a tactic in regards to juggling the grubs. One technique that does work is when your attacking grubs with :square: move the left joystick up,, to throw the grubs into air whilst you are cutting. I found that some grubs will automatically be flung into the air once you start attacking them so there is often no need for this technique, just simple follow the direction the grub moves in with the left analog stick. Grubs take about 3-4 cuts with the Calibrus to defeat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/A39.jpg Super Chivalry Deflection Master (B)

Perform 300 successful Guards.

You unlock the the shield during Act I, Curtain III. You can use it by pressing and holding :l1:. It has two main functions: block and reflect. You can block most attacks from enemies, including those of bosses and simple grubs. Some enemies, including various types of flowers will fire a projectile at you, if you are positioned correctly you can reflect these back at the enemy to kill them by pressing and holding :l1:. Its worth noting that after each use of the shield you must let it regenerate before you can use it again. You get roughly 3 hits before it becomes ineffective, and will require a longer regeneration time.

For this trophy, a successful guard includes both blocks and reflections. Obtaining 300 may come through natural gameplay, otherwise an easy place to farm them is against the Weaver mini boss battle during Act IV, Curtain I. The Weaver here will shoot you up at 20 times with his pistols. You can block every single one of his bullets. Just be sure to let your shield regenerate each time. Don't finish the boss fight, rather return to the level select screen and then choose the same level and select the replay from 'middle of the the level option' and it will restart you from the beginning of the boss fight. Simply rinse and repeat until the trophy unlocks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/CE0.jpg Super Ninjitsu Kablooey Master (B)

Defeat 3 grubs with a single Bomb.

You unlock the ninja bomb ability during Act II, Curtain I. To throw bombs press :circle: and aim with the :ls:. There aren't many places where you will find 3 grubs standing in close proximity to one another. The best place I found to do this was during Act VII, Curtain II. You will get to a part where you will be surrounded by grubs, approximately 5 on either side of you. Simply throw a bomb at either of the two groups to kill at least three in one go. The trophy will unlock once they have died and their souls have left their bodies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/217.jpg Super Luchador Pancake Master (B)

Defeat 30 grubs using Body Slams.

The Body Slam attack is unlocked in Act IV, Curtain I. Press :r1: to use it when near an enemy or the body slam icon (bull head) which you will learn about during the tutorial from the witch. The higher you are positioned the more damage you inflict. It will take between 1-3 body slams to defeat a single grub depending on how high you are positioned, and how close you are to the grub. You can potentially defeat multiple grubs with one body slam if they are close to one another. Once you defeat 30 grubs the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/A28.jpg Super Buccaneer Grapple Master (B)

Defeat 100 grubs after reeling them in with the Hookclaw.

You will unlock the Hookclaw at the beginning of Act III, Curtain I. To use it press :triangle: when facing a grub, or use the :ls: in the direction of the grub. This will grab the enemy and reel them in to within striking distance of the Calibrus. At this point they will be dizzy and won't fight back, simply press :square: to one hit kill them with the Calibrus. This is a very easy and quick way to kill grubs, and I advise you use it as often as you can throughout the game. Once you obtain the Hookclaw, you should unlock this trophy at around Act VI if you continually use it on grubs.

The Hookclaw can also be used to interact with the environment. Aim it at Hooks to grab on to them, and then continually press :triangle: during the one button quick time event (QTE). You may be rewarded with moonsparkles or it might open up an alternative path.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/506.jpg The Other Flying Circus (B)

Perform 20 consecutive Boost Cuts without touching the ground.

You will unlock/ learn Boost Cuts in Act III, Curtain III. They are easy to perform once you understand the timing. When you press :square: to cut, if you wait a second the Calibrus will turn yellow/ orange with what looks to be fire, if you press :square: again you will perform a Boost Cut which will propel you further in the direction your traveling. These can only be performed when you are actually cutting something such as flags, smoke, balloons, grubs etc. In order to unlock this trophy you need to find an area that is long enough for you to perform 20 consecutive Boost Cuts. I unlocked this trophy at the end of Act IV, Curtain II once you throw a bomb inside the last firework and you follow it by cutting the smoke. Wait a few seconds before starting in order to let the firework gain some distance on you as you will catch up to it pretty quick. If you mess up you can fall back down and light another firework and start again.

Another easy spot is Act II, Curtain II when you are fighting the Kappagaeru mini-boss as the purple webbing material you are cutting does not disappear once its been cut. just be weary of the mini-bosses attacks so stay to one side in order to avoid them.

Cut all the souls from all the Weavers without letting a single one recover.

Weavers are mini boss fights found in 6 levels of the game. These bosses usually involve cutting a cloth/ flag material with your Calibrus to inflect damage upon them. At the end of each of these fights, you will need to cut the soul canisters free to defeat the Weaver. There are roughly between 20-40 of these soul canisters which you must cut with the Calibrus by pressing :square: during each Weaver fight. If you don't cut them all in time they will return to the Weaver and you will have to inflect more damage to them before they will be released again. For this trophy you must cut free all souls the first time they emerge, and not let them return to the Weaver. This can be trickier then it seems. In total there are 6 Weavers in the game, found in the following levels:

  • Act I, Curtain I
  • Act I, Curtain II
  • Act II, Curtain I
  • Act III, Curtain I
  • Act IV, Curtain I
  • Act V, Curtain III

Tips-

- Make sure you have unlocked the Calibrus cutting boost in Act III, Curtain III. This will make cutting the souls a lot faster.

- In general start from the outside and work your way towards the middle. The souls are usually arranged in a circular formation which compliments this approach.

- Try not to touch the ground as this will make you lose precious time, and probably prevent you from successfully cutting all souls.

- If you mess up and don't cut them all in the first go, press :start: and return to the level select menu. Choose the same level in which you were just playing and choose the option 'The middle of the scene'. This will return you to the start of the Weaver boss fight, and prevent you from having to replay the entire level again.

Witness the end of each of the three puppet fugitives.

Throughout the game you will come across three male puppets in the background of levels as you investigate your surroundings. For this trophy you must investigate all of them by pressing :r2: and revealing their locations with either Pikarina or Ying-Yang. Investigating them will result in a short scene that plays out in the background which you must watch. In total the fugitive puppets are found in 36 locations in the game. When going for this trophy it's worth noting that you don't need to finish the entire level after witnessing the fugitives end for each level. Rather, you only need to keep playing through to the next checkpoint/ teleporter. This is to ensure that each location is registered and saved. The puppet fugitive locations are as follows-

Act I

Curtain I-

1. As you progress through the kitchen parts of the level, you will come across a tea cup full of sugar cubes, investigate it for one of the puppets to appear.

2. In the section where there are hanging forks and where you obtain the burger head, investigate the pile of flour in to the left of the sandwich.

3. In the following section, investigate the platform after the first cauldron, there will be a metal plate on the front of the platform in which the boy is hiding behind.

4. As your going hp the spiraling path of the castle, you will come across two spiders. In between them is a shield on the wall. Investigate it two times.

5. A little further along will be 3 barrels stacked near each other. Investigate the one on its side to reveal the boy.

6. At the top of the path will be a chandelier. Investigate the suit of armour next to it. The puppet will then disappear into a hole in the wall. Make sure you investigate that hole as well he is out of site. Thanks to Jay27 for confirming this.

7. After you acquire the Calibrus you will have to cut your way out of a series of gates. On the one before the floating pot in the background, there will be a hook in the top left corner. Press :triangle: to pull it with your Hookclaw. This will trigger a scene below where you are standing. The three puppets are trying to sneak past the witch. Investigate them all before they leave the screen.

Curtain II-

1. In the first section of the level, destroy the wall by investigating the crack three times.

2. Do the same for the crack in the second section.

3. In the third section, jump down to the platform below and investigate the crack on the left. When you see the grub chasing the three puppets a second time, investigate it to kill him.

4. In the fourth room, cut the leaves up and to the right of the teleporter. Investigate the crack behind the wall on the small platform.

5. When you release the bats and cut them upwards through the level. Land on the platform on your right where you use the Vile Vine head action. Investigate the window in the background.

Curtain III-

1. In the first section of the game, investigate the crack on the wall to the left of the shield, and kill the two grubs that appear.

2. After destroying the guillotine, investigate the crack in the wall to reveal a hook. Use your hookclaw to pull open the wall and see the puppets inside.

Act II

Curtain I-

1. Shortly after the panda action location there will be purple fish jumping out of the water which you will need to avoid. In the background will be a boy puppet with a fishing rod trying to rescue another puppet. Investigate him and watch the short scene that begins.

Curtain II-

1. During the second swamp section you will jump onto a lily pad with two grubs. In the background will be the puppet and a grub, investigate them to trigger a short scene.

2. When your on the spiral path of the tree you will come across three grubs next to one another. Shortly after jump on the mushroom and head right. There will be a large hole in the tree with a giant squirrel inside. Body slam the bull head icon on the ground to reveal the puppet. Investigate him afterwards for him to climb away.

Curtain III-

1. At the start of the level, stay at the beginning and wait for the puppet stuck in the sand in the background to appear. Investigate him when he does.

2. When you come to the second ring of smoke, cut around it to drop the sarcophagus. Once it's down, use your hookclaw to open it. Then cut along the seam that appears and once you cut the mummy at the end, the boy will

appear.

Act III

Curtain I-

1. After freeing Captain Gaff from the barrel in the first section, investigate the piles of coins in the background to find the two puppets.

2. Pull the chest with the hookclaw in front of you in the second section. Then body slam the crate in which it was sitting on top of.

3. In the section with the massive canon, body slam the crate to the right.

4. Once you return to the deck and cut the parrots feathers for the first time, you will see the puppets on a boat in the background. Investigate them.

5. During the mast climbing section, investigate the mast on the right when you come across the first swinging axe.

6. At the top of the second mast section, investigate the small boat at the top of the screen.

7. At the top of the third mast section you will see a gem on the left mast. Investigate it to reveal a puppet behind it.

Curtain II-

1.After being chased by the large angler fish you will come to a boat and the mast will fall down. On the next platform will be a grub, kill it and then body slam the section of deck with the bull head. Once you fall down, investigate the items in the background to the left to reveal the puppet.

Curtain III-

1. When you get to the room where you have to cut the smoke in the right order (following the section where the large band saw was chasing you), investigate the gauge in which you are standing on until the boy appears.

2. When you enter the second base whilst moving up the mountain you will have to blow up the generator with a bomb. A puppet will appear in side, investigate him.

Act IV

Curtain I-

1. When you reach the top of the fourth cliff segment, investigate the vulture before jumping through the teleporter.

Curtain II-

1. At the start of the second road section, investigate the yellow barrel in which you are standing on top of.

Act V

Curtain II-

1. After the second group of bats you cut you will see a puppet in the background between two guillotines, investigate him.

2. Shortly after the above encounter, you will have to cut various piles of cream as you jump across the platforms. In the background of one will be a cage, investigate it.

Curtain III-

1. You will need the Nod head for this puppet, which is located in the previous level (refer to Now That's Using Your Head (Hur, Hur) for exact location). In the section following the giant skeleton, head to the left under ground and use the Nod head action. The wheel-of-fortune game will begin. Make sure you land on the green section in order to see the puppet character. if you land on any of the other section, restart the level and you will start back at the last checkpoint.

2. After the electricity ball section and you take out the castle support pillars, head left along the platforms instead of cutting the seams to your right. Use the Blynken head action to reveal another puppet.

Act VII

Curtain III-

1. During the Moon Bear King fight you will cut off his legs and see his golden belly button. Investigate it to reveal the puppets inside. Keep playing through the level until you see them jump up from under ground and get blown away by the gust of wind.

Watch the Moon Witch transform Pikarina and Ying Yang in every possible way.

You will encounter the Moon Witch at various times throughout the game, such as when she teaches you a new move as part of a tutorial. In total there are 6 locations you must investigate her by pressing :r2: three times on her with either Ying-Yang or Pikarina to unlock the trophy. Each time you do this, you aggravate the witch and she will transform either Ying-Yang or Pikarina into something. The 6 locations include-

  • Act I, Curtain I- When you first come across the Moon Witch in the kitchen she will ask you to open the three windows. Instead investigate her three times with Ying-Yang and he will be transformed into a carrot.
  • Act I, Curtain III- At the start of the level you will learn the guard/ reflect move from the witch. Halfway through the tutorial you will be able to investigate her with Ying-Yang. Do this three times and she will turn him into a boxing glove.
  • Act II, Curtain I- Once you return the blossom tree back to normal you will start the tutorial with the witch where you learn the ninja ability of dropping/ throwing bombs. Don't progress her training, rather investigate her three times with Pikarina and she will turn her into a wooden log.
  • Act III, Curtain I- At the beginning of the level you will learn the Hookclaw ability. Once the witch arrives and tells you to grab onto the hook, investigate her three times with Pikarina and she will turn her into a parrot.
  • Act III, Curtain III- At the beginning of the level the witch will teach you the Clibrus Boost Cut ability. Instead of progressing the tutorial, investigate her three times with Pikarina and she will turn her into a diver.
  • Act IV, Curtain I- At the end of the canyon section of the level you will begin the tutorial for the body slam move. Investigate the witch three times with Pikarina and she will turn her into a Mexican. This will also
    unlock the Moon Witch head.

Note- You don't need to finish the level once you complete each transformation. You can quit back to the level select screen once the transformation is complete. The trophy will unlock once you have completed the last transformation, regardless of the order you complete them in.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/F21.jpg Triple Tete (B)(H)

Arm yourself with three of the same head.

You can only store three heads at anyone time in the game. These are displayed in the top left of your screen. You can cycle between the three heads you have by pressing either :right: or :left:. For this trophy you must have three of the same head at the one time. I unlocked this trophy during Act III, Curtain I where I obtained three of the Frog heads. When you replay a level, you will only find heads in the environment that you would have unlocked in that level or in previous levels. Therefore, I advise you to replay the earlier levels as there are less heads available in which you can obtain whilst searching the environment. Just keep an eye on what heads you currently have and constantly search the environment with :r2: to find additional heads.

If you replay Act I, Curtain II at the very beginning of the level is a pot in which contains a head. Search it with :r2:. It should either be the Skull head or the Spider head. Now kill yourself three times by jumping off the ledge to the right to restart the checkpoint. Repeat this process until you have three of the same head.

If the above method doesn't work for you, solstice has suggested an alternative below-

Instead I just went to a level that I knew had a Wheel Spin on it, and tried to land on the red part, which drops between 3 - 5 heads. Chances are you will get three of a kind, or even if you get two, they could be the same as one of the heads you currently have equipped. I think this trophy could also be gotten easily with two players, since every time player 2 (Pikarina/Ying-Yang) kills a grub, it drops a head for player 1 (Kutaro). On some of the later levels there are groups of 3 - 5 grubs all together, and if killed with player 2, they could drop three of a kind.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/010.jpg Three-Second Rule (B)

Pick up your fallen head 100 times.

This will unlock during your progression through the story. Every time you get hit by an enemy, poisonous substance, spike etc you will lose your head. You have approximately 5 seconds to pick your head back up before you lose a life, i.e. one of your three heads displayed in the top left corner of your screen. To pick your head up all you have to do is walk/ run into it. I unlocked this trophy during Act V.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/F1C.jpg Sparktacular (B)

Collect all the Hundredsparkles using Kutaro.

Hundredsparkles are large glowing sparkles found throughout the game. In total there are 39 found throughout the 21 levels of the game. They aren't very difficult to find, however, there are a few that can be difficult to reach.

NOTE- You must collect these with Kutaro and not Ying-Yang or Pikarina as they will not count. Thanks to yuri03042 for pointing this out.

Below is a list of all their locations and how to reach each one.

Act I

Curtain I-

1. This can be found when you you find the burger head during the first part of the level. Examine the 4 golden spoons in the background by pressing :r2: on them with Ying-Yang.

2. During the tower section of the level, a large ball of children puppets will roll after you. Once it's passed follow it to the bottom of the tower.

3. Replay the level once you have unlocked the Hookclaw. For its exact location, refer to The Tyrant's Inner Tyrant.

Curtain II

1. Examine the fugitives beyond the wall in the first, second, third and fourth scene. They are hard to miss. Note that for the third scene you must wait until the grub chasing the puppets dies, then investigate him with :r2:. The

fourth fugitives are located in the top right hand corner of the scene, cut your way up and avoid the teleporter to the next scene and examine the wall to the right. You will get the hundredsparkle once the puppets run away.

2. You will need to have unlocked the Calbrius boost to get this sparkle. In the scene with numerous propellers, you will need to cut your way up the leaves and head to the right. Perform a boost cut at the end to reach the sparkle in the top right corner.

3.Just before the end of the cutting section between the towers. Cut your way along the bottom seam and you will run through this at the end.

Curtain III

1. After attacking General Tiger for the first time you will emergy outside on the tower. At the first cutting section, use your Calibrus boost cut to reach the only sparkle in this level.

Act II

Curtain I-

1. After the bamboo section at the beginning of the level you will be cutting your way up a waterfall. You will need the Calibrus boost cut to reach the sparkle, which you can't miss on your way through the level.

Curtain II

1. After numerous scenes in the swamp you will come to one where you have to cut the purple webbing to get past some fish. You will enter a cave and a rock will fall down. Above it will be the sparkle. Stand on the ledge to the

right, and jump and cut with :square: to reach it.

2. You will come across this one shortly after starting the tree climbing section. it will be above two grubs, jump on the mushroom and boost cut with the Calibrus to the right to reach it.

3. You will need the boost cut for this one as well. Continue through the level and you will come across a group of three grubs. The sparkle will be above them. Position one of the grubs under the sparkle and start cutting it upwards. Use the boost cut to reach the sparkle.

Curtain III

1. Towards the start of the level you will come across a ring of smoke after throwing a bomb down a hole. Cut around the circle with the Calibrus and you will see a sarcophagus inside the middle. Investigate it with :r2: and it will drop. Now land on the snake and use your Hookclaw by pressing :triangle: to open it up. Simply cut along the seam that appears and the sparkle will be at the end of the path.

2. After the platforming section of the level you will enter General Snakes stomach and be riding on top of General Rat. You will come across three bouncing skulls which you can jump off by pressing :cross:. Jump off the third one to land on another path. The sparkle will be at the end of the platform your riding across.

Act III

Curtain I-

1. After the tutorial where you learn the Hookclaw ability you will be in a room with three hooks. Pull down the top one and the barrels will fall to the ground. Behind them will be a gold genies lamp. Investigate it with :r2: for the sparkle to appear.

2. Once you are on the deck of the ship you will have to cut your way along two different clothes lines to make it past some sharks. This sparkle is located above the second clothes line. Use the Calibrus cut boost to reach it.

Act III

Curtain II-

1.At the start of the level you will be riding along on a squid. When you come to the third launcher the sparkle will be on the path in which you land upon.

Curtain III-

1. Once you make it to the outside section of the level where you are winding your way up an island/ mountain you will come across two dark/ secret passage ways. Just before the second one will be a cannon that fires three cannon balls over some spikes in which you must use the smoke to cut your way over with. Use the Calibrus boost cut to get on top of the cannon. Once there you will see the sparkle above you. All you need to do is jump with :cross: and cut a few times by spamming :square: to reach it.

Act IV

Curtain I-

1. This is one of the toughest hundresparkle to obtain. You will see it at the end of the first section of the level on the right above the teleporter. You need to hop on the ledge to the left and cut the cactus using the Calibrus boost cut. Start your cut as far to the left as you can so you can use smaller parts of the cactus to string consecutive boost cuts together in the direction of the hundredparkle to your right.

2. This sparkle is located in the third section of the town, where you have to close the vents on the ground by body slamming them. Close the first two and then while on the third vent boost cut up the smoke to the top left corner of the map above the building to reach the sparkle.

Curtain II-

1. The third time you jump from the horse your riding to the train your racing you will come across a giraffe in which you must jump on top of to get to the smoke above. Cut along the smoke using the Calibrus boost cut. Instead of doing a body slam where it indicates, keep cutting along the smoke and you will reach the sparkle to the right.

Curtain III-

1. Shortly into the level you will come across a house you must pull by holding :r1:. Don't do this yet. Jump onto the eve above you and boost cut your way up the level. You will knock your head off a few times from the spike balls so try and regather quickly which you give you temporary invisibility. Once you cut your way up two clothes lines you will need to boost cut to the upper left corner to reach the sparkle.

2.In the third section of the level you will come across two houses you need to push in with :r1: in order to progress the level. After you push the second one in, quickly roll out of the way with :l2:. The sparkle will then appear under the building. Quickly roll back in and out to pick it up before the building falls down on you.

Act V

Curtain I-

1. At the beginning of the second section you will pass two ghosts and then have to throw a bomb at a large pumpkin by pressing :circle:. To progress the level you have to jump over the gap and into the pumpkins mouth. Instead of doing this, fall down the gap to find the sparkle.

2.You will need the Cake head for this sparkle, which you will unlock in the same level when you examine a piece of cake after defeating the giant pumpkin. During the third segment of the level you will come across another piece of cake. Equip the cake head by pressing :right: or :left: and use it's action by pressing . Now bounce on the giant cake that appears and go down the slide. The sparkle is half way down and you may need to jump to reach it.

Curtain II

1.The first sparkle is located in a secret passage that you can enter after jumping off a caterpillar. At the end of the passage will be the sparkle. For the exact location of the secret passage, refer to Butterball bailout above.

2. Whilst running away from the giant pumpkin enemy in the castle, you will come across groups of bats that you will need to cut along to progress through the platforms. At the third set of bats, you must use the Calibrus boost cut to reach the sparkle which is located to the top right of the path in which the bats take on the roof of the building.

Curtain III-

1. In the last graveyard section there will be two areas that you can perform a body slam on. Once you travel under ground and pull the hook with the Hookclaw and cut the bats, perform a body slam on the left grave to break it open. This will make the sparkle appear.

2.While you are moving along the outside of the castle after defeating the Weaver, you will come to two sections of purple webbing that you must cut across with the Calibrus. These walls will have large electricity balls moving along them towards you which you must dodge. The sparkle is located at the bottom of the second section of purple webbing. You will most probably lose your head whilst going for it, but that won't matter, just keep cutting and make it to the other side.

Act VI

Curtain I-

1.During the later part of the level you will be following General Rabbit inside an hour glass. You will come to a section where you have to bounce on a few sets of cards and then body slam onto the deck of cards at the end. Once you start cutting up the cards with the Calibrus boost cut to the left and you will reach this sparkle.

Curtain II-

1.At the start of the level you will have to make your way through a maze. At the end you will have to body slam a section of hedge to progress further through the level. Turn around and cut your way down the gap and to the left to reach this sparkle.

2. After riding the elephant and dinosaur you will come to a new section of the level where you are cutting your way along picnic tables, and jumping between chairs. After the second picnic table you will have to cut General

Roosters trail of feather. The sparkle is located above you once you start this section. You will need to use a boost cut to reach it.

3.After the section above you will be inside a massive clock with large rotating cogs. You will soon come to a large swinging gold pendulum. Above these are cogs with spider webs in them which you must use to cut your way up the clock. Use them to boost cut to the sparkle which is located in the upper left corner.

Curtain III

1. At the start of second section of the level when your riding on Mr. Pink, you will have to jump over some spikes and then bounce on part of his flesh. You will see the sparkle but won't be able to reach it. What you must do is not jump over the first spike and continue through it. This will make you lose a head, but if you have more then one then it won't matter. Once your on the bouncy bit of flesh, jump to reach the sparkle which is above you to the right.

Alternatively, you can try and jump over the spike, wait on the bouncer and then jump up towards the hundredsparkle. Thanks to Ron-A-Palooza for the tip.

Act VII

Curtain I-

1.During the third snow section of the level you will have to jump on platforms that are sliding down a slippery ice slope. Stand on one and go to the bottom of the slide to reach the sparkle. You will then need to cut your way out by using the tree branches above you.

2. During the second section of space, you will reverse gravity and be traveling upside down. Whilst jumping on the large asteroids you will have to jump over a spike and you will see the sparkle above you. Immediately jump again to reach it.

Curtain II-

1. At the start of the level you will cut upwards on green smoke clouds. When you get to the top a few planes will fly past before some grubs and plants appear. You need to kill all the grubs by deflecting the plants attack with :l1:. In total there will be three times you will have to do this. Once done you will clearly see the sparkle.

2. Whilst climbing the tower you will be putting the moonstone shards back in their original locations. Once you put back General Horses piece (you will know as there will be a painting of here next to the spot Katuro places the

shard) you will cut along a vine and then continue cutting along vine leaves. The sparkle will be below you about half way along. Just drop down to reach it.

Curtain III-

1. At the start of the level you will cut through smoke to enter the other castle. Once inside you will have to platform across a series of cogs and wheels. Towards the end you will come across two large cogs with purple webbing inside them in which you must cut to avoid getting electrocuted. The sparkle is located just below both cogs. You can reach it be performing a boost cut between the two cogs.

2. When you get launched to the castle the third time you will come across a vertical tube that will house the sparkle. The tube will temporarily open to drop a cannon ball through. You have to quickly jump up and grab the sparkle.

Rescue all of the captive souls.

Captive souls are rescued by killing grubs and Weavers (mini bosses- refer to Surgical Striker). When you kill a grub or weaver you will see a purple canister emerge from their body which you must cut to free the soul. Once done you will see the soul float into the sky. You will only see this occur for souls in which you have not previously rescued. You can track how many souls who have rescued for each level at the level select screen. When you press :cross: on the level it will bring up a menu showing your progression of unlocked souls and heads.

In total there are 592 souls to be rescued in the game. The far majority are very easy to find and you will find them as you replay the levels for other trophies. There are a few that are a little harder to find and may require a head action for them to spawn. My advise would be to leave this trophy till last as this will reduce the amount of times you need to replay the levels, as you would have found most souls whilst unlocking other trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/4B3.jpg Lead Sparkleholic (B)

Collect 10,000 Moonsparkles.

This trophy will unlock through natural progression of the game as you work on other trophies. Moonsparkles are mainly obtained through killing enemies and investigating the environment by pressing :r2: with Ying-Yang or Pikarina. In a lot of levels they also denote the path in which you must take to go through the level. In general the Bonus Stages are a good place to farm Moonsparkles. However, as I previously mentioned, there is no need to farm them as by the time you have unlocked all other trophies this would have unlocked this without paying much attention to it. There is no in game counter of moonsparkles, so there is no way to keep track of how many you have collected.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/783.jpg Read Between the Lines (B)

Read all the picture books.

In total there are 7 picture books, one for each Act of the game. You unlock a new picture book once you complete all 3 levels of each Act. Therefor you can only unlock this trophy once you have completed the game. To read a picture book press :circle: when at the level select screen to return to the Act select screen. At the bottom will be the 'Picture Books' option. You don't have to actually read the books, once you open them with :cross: press :circle: to close it and return to the picture book select screen. As long as the book doesn't say 'new' on the binding, you have read it.

Find every type of head.

Refer to Now That's Using Your Head (Hur, Hur) below.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1678/679.jpg Now That's Using Your Head (Hur, Hur) (G)

Use every Head Action correctly.

Note- The Katuro head, which is obtained after completing the game, can be substituted for every head action in the game as long it is used in the correct location. You should come across it by investigating floating pots once you have completed the game. This should make the trophy slightly easier as some heads can be a pain to obtain and keep until you come across the head action location. Thanks to neosnake101 for confirming this.

In total there are 100 different heads you must find in the game. The majority are found by investigating the environment with Ying-Yang or Pikarni at various locations and times throughout the 21 levels of the game. Below is a list of every head in the game, where they can be found, and the location in which you must use it's action. I have ordered the list based on each level, as to reduce the number of times you must replay each level. You can keep track of which heads you have collected, as well as what actions you have successfully used, at the level select screen. Navigate to 'Head Collection' and the heads you have found in each Act will be shown. The blue ribbon in the top left corner of each head indicates that the action has been successfully performed. Unfortunately you can't open this menu during the game, only once you have completed or quit a level and returned to the level select screen can you access it. You can also check the status of how many head you have found in the level select screen. Press :cross: on the level and a small menu will appear, indicating how many of the total heads in the level you have found.

To use the head action you must press . However, for the head actions to count you must be standing in the correct location. This will make Katuro perform a small action associated with the head. The correct locations are depicted by the flashing white outline of the head in the background of the level. Using the correct action can cause one of the following to occur-

  • Make you start a bonus level, in which you must complete all 21 for the Bonus Maximus trophy
  • Reveal hidden enemies which you will need to kill for the Soul Searcherest trophy
  • Spawn moonsparkles which you will need to collect for the Lead Sparkleholic trophy
  • Some head actions also reveal other heads which you will need to collect for the Head Hoarder trophy
  • Start a mini 'wheel of fortune' type game which can reward you with moonsparkles or numerous heads

It's worth noting that you do not have to finish the level once you have found a head or used a head action. You are free to quit to the level select screen once you have obtained all heads or completed all actions for the level you are currently on.

Below is a list of the locations of all heads and their corresponding actions. The vast majority are found within the 21 main levels of the game, however, some head actions are located within the Bonus Stages. You will need to unlock them all for the Bonus Maximus trophy anyway.

Wow, nice work d!!

You told me it would be ready soon, but I wasn't expecting to see it up so soon... nor as INSANELY in-depth/complete!

It'll certainly prove helpful... as it was kind of intimidating finishing my first play-through this evening, and only sitting on a 35% completion.

Definitely loving this game... a nice change of pace from Max Payne 3 (which I loved as well - couldn't be more different!!). ;)

Yeah it's the collectibles that made the guide so long! Probably should have made it into a supplementary guide, but at least it's all there.

Your right though, it couldn't be more different from Max Payne 3. Glad your enjoying it, its a great game and a shame it hasn't attracted more attention.
