Introduction:

Punisher No Mercy is a First Person Shooter game developed by Zen Studios and also published by Zen Studios alongside Sony Corporation Entertainment and is based off of the popular Punisher series of films. Despite brandishing the Punisher name, this game does not have many ties to the films with the exception of the playable characters and thus playing this game without seeing the films will not ruin them for you or expose the plots. The game is very multiplayer orientated; the bulk of the game is in the multiplayer. The game does offer a single player component although this also just feels like an extension of the multiplayer but with bots instead of humans. The campaign is by no means conventional and will have you completing mission objectives such as 50 kills in a team based fight (basically a Team Deathmatch battle). The campaign is very short but it is also enjoyable strangely enough.

Unfortunately the game was delisted from the PlayStation Store some time in 2011 so because of this, only a small number of people own the game and an even smaller number of are still playing it. The online is completely dead and must be boosted if you are to have any chance of obtaining the 100%. I can say with relative firmness that this game is now impossible to 100% without boosting due to the non-existent player base.

Step One: Complete your first run of the campaign mode.

Complete the campaign mode straight off the bat even if you are a 'multiplayer first' kind of person or even a multiplayer trophy hoarder. You will want the campaign completed for when going for the Swift Delivery (S) trophy. As you complete missions you will unlock playable characters along the way that will be necessary for efficient boosting of said trophy. The characters and their unlock requirements are listed below:

Punisher: Available from the start.

Carlos Cruz: Available from the start.

Silver Sable: Complete story mode mission 1.

Barracuda: Complete story mode mission 1.

Bushwacker: Complete story mode mission 1.

Finn Cooley: Complete story mode mission 2.

Jenny Cesare: Complete story mode mission 3.

Microchip: Complete story mode mission 3.

Jigsaw: Complete story mode mission 4.

The campaign is like a multiplayer mode with bots. There is no difficulty setting so you do not have to worry about this. The campaign is easy as you have unlimited lives. The only way you can fail a mission is by running out of time or the enemy reaching the points limit first, such as in the case of mission 1 where it is the first team to 50 kills that wins. After winning the first mission, you will be awarded with the Piece Of Cake (B) trophy. Carry on completing the missions and eventually you will beat the fourth and final mission and be granted two trophies: Family Photo (B) and Big Gun (B).

Now that you have completed the campaign once you will have all characters unlocked. This will prove very useful for the next step. You also need to complete the campaign to unlock some of the weapons necessary for the multiplayer trophy Weapons Expert (S) later on.

Step Two: Earning the Swift Delivery trophy.

This trophy can now be declared impossible without boosting. Even if by some miracle you were to get into a full lobby of 8 people, you would then need the luck of a lottery ticket holder for it to be the case that every player in the lobby is playing as a different character. Most players are going to choose to play as the more well-known and menacing characters such as Punisher and Jigsaw and not to play as the less typically liked characters such as Jenny Cesare. There are 9 available characters and the chances that 8/9 of the characters are present in the lobby are virtually nil.

The reason why I have stated a second PlayStation 3 is very beneficial is manly because of this step. It will be a lot easier for the boost if several, or all, of the boosters have 2 systems and download the game on to both systems. This means you could potentially only need 4 people (including yourself) to get this trophy done as each person can donate 2 systems to the lobby.

Once you have gotten a group of 8 boosters, including yourself, make sure all of you have completed the campaign mode. Use the boosting thread to meet up with others: Trophy Boosting Thread (Read First Post!) - PlaystationTrophies.org . Make a PSN party chat and assign a different character to everyone. The reason you want everyone to have all characters, is in case one or two of the boosters have found out they no longer have their save file or if an emergency reserve or two are called in who no longer have all characters unlocked. This will allow these people to use the characters unlocked earlier on whilst the more prepared boosters will have no problems in picking characters unlocked later on in the story. To pick a character to play as you must go to the main menu then to the "Customize character" option and the top selection will be "Character", click on that then scroll left and right to pick the character you have been assigned. You can do this from the pre-game lobby of a match but sometimes it can be awkward and not allow you to select the character you want so do this from the main menu to avoid annoyance from other boosters. This can be done in a custom match.

When you are all ready to go, do a 3-2-1 countdown in the party chat and on "1" search the "Massacre" game mode. The reason you must all search in quick succession is because once two people are in a lobby together then a 60 second countdown will initiate and when this ends, the match will begin. You need all 8 players in the lobby for this trophy so if there any people missing you will need to quit when the game starts and repeat the search. "Massacre" has 3 game modes in it: Vigilante, Punisher the Punisher and Elimination. You are after Vigilante or Elimination. You will be unable to earn the trophy in Punisher the Punisher because one person will be selected to be the Punisher and there won't be enough characters to go around. Just let whoever starts as the Punisher get 20 kills immediately so that the next game will be an Elimination or Vigilante. In these two modes you will play as the character you selected so are good to go. Determine an order of who gets the trophy, all meet in a location on the map and the person getting the trophy kills the other 7 people. The map called "Crossing", is the smallest and easiest map to use. In Step two you will earn Swift Delivery (S).

Step Three: Earning the Weapons Expert trophy.

Everything you do from now on will be towards the Weapons Expert (S) trophy and you will be playing in Elimination mode with a lives limit of 12. Combine this process with the other multiplayer trophies and weapon unlock requirements to make it less long. For example: start off by using Finn Cooley as your character and equipping the HSK PSU 45. Proceed to get 150 kills using this pistol which will unlock the Rhino pistol (for performing 150 kills with the HSK PSU 45) and GL32 grenade launcher (for performing 150 kills as Finn Cooley). Now get a further 50 kills on top of the existing 150 kills to earn the Survivor Benefit (B) trophy for getting 200 kills as Finn. Now change your character to Bushwacker and proceed to get headshot kills with the ARM-5 to make progress towards the 3 unlock requirements demanding 400 kills as Bushwacker, the 275 headshot kills needed to unlock the D2 Crossbow and the 150 ARM-5 kills needed to unlock the CMG then get 150 CMG kills to unlock the AKS-49.

At this stage you will have all weapons unlocked. Select the character you need a kill with and start up the match. Get a kill with each of the weapons you have selected then let your boost partner kill you. Now you will be able to change your 3 weapons during the spawn countdown. Pick 3 new weapons you need a kill with then spawn in but be quick because if you take too long then the game will spawn you in anyway. After the 12th kill, the match will end and you'll have a kill with every weapon with that character. Repeat this for the remaining characters to unlock Weapons Expert (S).

Step Four: Multiplayer Clean-up.

Pick Jenny Cesare and set the Rhino as one of your weapons. Now start up an Elimination match with a kill limit of 10 then get out the Rhino and just headshot your partner at close range 9 times in a row, without pressing :square: and without missing. The clip size of the Rhino is ten so you have one bullet of leeway. This will net you the Kiss Of Death (G) trophy. Then select Silver Sable as your character, make an Elimination match with the Lives set to 1 and proceed to kill your partner to earn the Survivor (S) trophy. Do the same again but playing as Barracuda to earn the Tower Above (S) trophy. Now equip the GL32 grenade launcher and score 100 kills with that to earn the Explosives Expert (B) trophy.

The multiplayer component is now complete.

Step Five: Campaign mode clean-up.

Now you want to do another campaign run-through as Jigsaw. You are after mission 4 but for some silly reason the game does not have a chapter select option so you must complete it all over again. Make sure to have the Enforcer shotgun equipped. The campaign can be gone through at high speed due to the ease and short length of it. Once you are in mission 4, use only the shotgun for the entire mission. You need to be quick and actively hunt out your enemies to ensure you complete this in the 10 minute timeframe allotted. Always pick up health and armour drops around the map since you’ll be getting damaged a lot. This will earn you the Puzzled (B) trophy when done correctly. Now restart the campaign playing as Microchip and run up to the enemies and let them kill you 50x to grant you Bullet Magnet (B).

Congratulations! You now have 100% in Punisher No Mercy.

  • 5 years later...

This roadmap is garbage but the trophy guide is actually good.

This takes 7 hours with 2 PS3s, 12 hours if you have to boost with someone. I did this in 10 hours and 27 minutes, with a 3 hours and 43 minutes break.

Step 3 is such a shitshow to organize boosting lol. You don't need countdowns, just have the host press triangle to invite friends and that pauses the counter, then everyone has essentially infinite time to join.

Game mode to boost kills is custom Team Death Match at The Foundry at 30 minutes and 100 kills limit (it's mentioned on the trophy guide, but not here), you can spawn kill on both sides of the map as long as you are not too close and not too far.

Step 5 needs to mention you can do the Puzzled trophy in coop, just make sure both players select Jigsaw and at no point either of them use any other weapon than the shotgun. Not even a knife, don't use it.
