Come one, come all to the greatest prediction league ever, the Golf Predictions League 2014. This league will cover one of the greatest sports ever, golf. The league will cover tournaments from both main tours, the PGA Tour and the European tour. The Ryder Cup will also be covered.

Each week there will be one tournament to predict, schedule found below. The tournaments will alternate between both tours depending on which tournament is the "bigger" one and There will be 2 tournaments for some weeks.

Sign ups are now closed as of Dec 30th

Each week the participants will post who they will think will win the tournament scheduled for the week. Predictions must be submitted before start of play of the tournament

The scoring system is you pick a winner for each tournament and you get:

5 points for 1st

3 for 2nd

1 for a top 5

10 Bonus points will be given for predicting the winner of the Race to Dubai (European Tour) and the Fed Ex Cup (PGA Tour) respectively. If you manage to get both you net 25 points altogether.

Predictions for the Tour winners should be submitted before June 19th 2014

8 points will be awarded for predicting the correct Ryder Cup winners. 12 points will be awarded if the correct result of the Ryder Cup is predicted.

Rules:

1: Don't edit your prediction posts after the tournament starts.

2. If you ever change your mind about a prediction then do it in a new post.

3: You have to have at least 100 posts to take part. It''s just that people with only a handful of posts are more likely to sign up and then never visit to the site again. So it would be a pain if someone signed up and didn't take part.

4: When there are 2 tournaments in a week then post the name of the tournament and your prediction beside it.

5. Predictions must be submitted before the first tee times of the event i.e. Hyundai Tournament of Champions starts on Janurary 3rd so predictions must be submitted before start of play on that date.

Next event:

Finally over

Ok I am pretty sure the rules and such are right now, everything is looking nice.

I am a bit sad about removing half the tournaments but I am scaring people away with so many:pout:

However if enough people want a full schedule with two tournaments a week then I will add them back. I doubt enough will though. I have put a suggestion about the Ryder Cup in the first post and I would like peoples opinions

There is still 6 weeks or so left until the season starts so plenty time for people to sign up

I think you need a Scot in here, now where's ma tartan troosers.

Will I sign you up then

aww, i never got to see the huge schedule :(

I can send it to you if you like:p(I still can though) but essentially it included every PGA and European Tour event from the beginning of the year until the Fed Ex Cup and Race to Dubai respectively. There was 93 tournaments with 2 tournaments every week give or take a few weeks with Majors on.

I seems like people were scared away with the huge schedule so I halved it and only including the "better" event for that week. There is still a tournament every week until the Race to Dubai ends.

For all I know I may have to remove more if people want, but I'd rather not.

If I would have loved to have the full schedule but I kinda want people to take part. I can very easily put the full schedule back anyway if people do, I have it coped on a Word file.

I was half thinking that I should show you the list by posting it in this post but it would take up most of the page:p

Haven't a clue about golf. Which is why i'll sign up :p

You know there is Yahoo Fantasy Golf? It may be easier to use that than to manually do it.

I'm in either way.

Thanks for signing up guys. Hopefully we get more

Yeah I did know there was the Yahoo Fantasy League but I'd rather do it myself. I ain't that hard. It's not like I am running the Football Predictions League or anything. I have an Excel spreadsheet organised already.

Guys could ye give me your opinion on the possible Ryder Cup additions. Details are in the first post.

Also if ye want me to add the full schedule again, I will if the majority want it. This will basically make it 2 events a week which will be around 93 tournamnents

We now have a 1/3 chance of a Bandit bringing it home!! It's a shame POD wouldn't know what a 9-iron if it was rammed up his arse, and he thinks a bogey is a midnight snack

Yeah I am kinda happy with the amount of people signing up, I though there would be less.

I will also be pretty annoyed if somebody with no clue wins this, not because somebody with no clue wins but because somebody with no clue beats me who knows alot about the sport. It would be funny though. If more people who know nothing about the sport want to sign up they can

I will be curious at the end of the league where everyone points come from, whether their points all come from top 5's or they gained points from predicting tour winners or some other pattern
