allieplaysmusic
If I buy a new PS3, will I still be able to access my old PSN account? Will I lose the trophies I've earned so far? Edited January 8, 2011 by allieplaysmusic
Dangles
You will not. All you have to do is recover your old account on to your new ps3.
WeakerYouth
To add on slightly to what Dangles said, very few people experience any trouble switching to a new PS3 with their trophies and if they do it's a short term issue.

Dangles
To recover an old account onto the new PS3 - is this something I do on the new PS3? Yes. There should be an option on your new ps3 to recover your old account.

legndorock
Just make sure to sync up your trophies. If they're all synced up you're good to go but every trophy that isn't synced will be lost.

Alfster
remeber to do a data transfer if you want to kee your saves   You stole my thunder just going to add to this make sure you deactivate your old PS3 watch the video that is posted on Youtube as the data transfer is the best way to do this as you know there are some games saves that cannot be copied to a memory stick/usb drive games like ACII, Dragon Age and more. The data transfer works like a charm I had no difficulties with my data transfer took 2 hours as I didn't have that much game saves or game data installed but data transfer time will depend on how much GB you used up and it will transfer almost everything if you have minis installed you will have to uninstall then install the game again. I had to do that with one mini I had. You will also need an ethernet cord for the data tansfer utility between systems.
juzam666
If I buy a new PS3, will I still be able to access my old PSN account? Will I lose the trophies I've earned so far? Â If you lost your trophies, YLOD would be the greatest of all epic fails. SONY would look really, really bad.

xX_shoemaker_Xx
trophies are saved on psn servers, not your ps3. once you get a new ps3 and add your account to it, sync your trophies and they'll all come back.
chewbacon
Trophies are on the Network.... not your PS3. The only thing you will lose is all your save data (if you didnt back it up with USB's)

Old_Snoova
If I buy a new PS3, will I still be able to access my old PSN account? Will I lose the trophies I've earned so far? Do this... 1. De-activate your account from your old PS3 and delete it off the system. 2. Re-activate your account on your new PS3. 3. Sync up your trophies with the server. The re-syncing process takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R on the new system and you're likely to get it cut off by an error message a few times during the re-sync. I find that this is normal, but its right annoying b/c it'll happen when its been syncing for 45 minutes and you have to restart the sync.

ZOLANTON
Im going to need to do this as i got YLoD and i was wondering why do i have to deactivate your:think: account? It's not that you have to but if you have your account in 5 different PS3s then you need to de-activate one if you wish to keep your account in a new PS3.
