Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Trophy Guide and Road Map
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10 (Platinum Difficulty Thread)
- Approximate time: 30 – 50 hours (This depends on how quickly you earn Proud Skipper)
- Trophy Breakdown: 29 (4 , 21 , 3 , 1 )
- Offline: 25 (3 , 19 , 3 )
- Online: 4 (1 , 2 , 1 )
- Number of missable trophies - None
- Glitched trophies - None reported
- Do cheat codes disable trophies? - No cheats available
- Additional peripherals required - No
- Does difficulty affect trophies? – No
- Online pass required – No and Yes – You are given a code to play online, an email from Konami asks you to not use the code until 11th of October (I was not asked for a code but I guess after the 11th you will be), which I think that the proper online mode will be available with only master league online now playable.
New to PES this year is automatic auto-save. Last year you had the option to either save yourself or utilise the auto-save option, unfortunately you can only pick auto-save. You are given the option to not save when starting either mode but when you make your first save, the auto-save option will be enabled. If anyone wants to make sure nothing happens, back-up your saves and make different saves for different games so if you lost an important game you can simply reload.
Firstly you will want to look at exhibition, because unless you decide to play with a friend, you will only need to enter this mode once, winning any match on any difficulty will unlock what will most likely be the first trophy you unlock in PES 2013.
Furthermore in this step you will want to familiarise yourself with two basic modes, that will net you six trophies in total. Those are UEFA Champions League and Copa Santander Libertadores, each will consist of playing a certain amount of games until you’re crowned the winner of both, unlocking three trophies which are effectively the same but in a different mode.
This will involve you venturing to Cup thus allowing you to unlock one tournament related trophy. This cannot be simulated unlike in the other modes so unfortunately you will actually need to play every match but you can avoid that, only slightly, I will mention more in the actual description later.
This consists of not only the bulk of the trophies but your time whilst playing PES 2013 in Be A Legend. I must emphasise the word "playing" as you actually have to play in a match (three trophies for this mode only require you to play one match in; the league, the champions league and the international cup). You will be able to simulate some of the trophies; however you will not be able to simulate all of them. Those are specific in just two trophies, Proud Skipper and Team of the Season, to be given the captaincy no team would give you the armband for sitting on the bench. For the harder trophies it's best that you use a created player but if you want to get the other ones out of the way pick a real-life player (preferably Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo).
For this step we will be focusing on the Master League. This will make all trophy hunters happy, as every single trophy in this mode can be simulated, it's even quicker than last year as you can pick a date and the game should simulate each game.
This final step consist of hugely easy trophies to unlock in the online mode, they will involve; playing a match, winning a competition match and signing a player.
These are just a views tips that will make most the steps run smoothly and without any sort of hiccups.
1. You will want to change the difficulty settings to Beginner, the easiest setting available which shouldn't prove any trouble. This can be done after starting the game as PES will ask which setting you would prefer or in options > general settings.
2. Work your way to EDIT and pick whichever team you like or the team you support (I picked Arsenal or as PES calls them North London, since it's the team I support) and change all of your teams statistics to 99, this will make Master League run smoothly.
3. Whilst in EDIT, to quicken the amount of time needed for league and cup wins from step 2, place the team you chose (Arsenal for me) and enter them in the Portuguese league since they only play 30 league games, where the rest play 38 or maybe less. Changing your team to the shortest league can also be beneficial for master league as winning the league will come sooner.
Using these modes will allow controlling the best players in the modes, shortening the time required to meet the trophy goals.
The usual requirements. Unlock the other 28 trophies and you will have unlocked the Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 platinum, the 4th of it's kind (not counting any stacking Platinums).
First Glory: Exhibition
Awarded for defeating the COM for the first time in [Exhibition]
An immensely simple trophy, all you need to do in choose the first option exhibition and choose whichever teams you (Barcelona are a very good choice vs. Iran) like on whichever difficulty (Beginner is the ideal choice) you like and win, the trophy will unlock after the match has finished.
First Win: UEFA Champions League
Awarded for defeating the COM for the first time in [UEFA Champions League]
See UEFA Champions League Winner
UEFA Champions League Elite 16
Awarded for making it through the Group stage in [UEFA Champions League]
See UEFA Champions League Winner
UEFA Champions League Winner
Awarded for becoming a [UEFA Champions League] Winner
These three trophies, will follow each other, in the first phase you must play six matches as any Champions league teams or any other team in the game, you may qualify after four wins (the first win will unlock the first trophy of the trio) but you will need to play all six to progress to the knock-out stages in which the second trophy will have been unlocked. A further seven matches are required to win the entire champions league which makes 13 in total will unlock the final trophy, a shiny Silver.
Copa Santander Libertadores Win
Awarded for defeating the COM for the first time in [Copa Santander Libertadores]
See Copa Santander Libertadores Winner
Copa Santander Libertadores R16
Awarded for making it through the Group stage in [Copa Santander Libertadores]
See Copa Santander Libertadores Winner
Copa Santander Libertadores King
Awarded for becoming a [Copa Santander Libertadores] Winner
These three trophies are effectively the same as UEFA Champions league winner but require you to play on a different format. When you load the competition you will see a play-off round, but you can easily bypass this, selecting your team and using the button and switching them with a team already in the group stages. If you fail to do this, you'll then be required to play another two unnecessary games.
The Copa Santander Libertadores follows exactly the same pattern as the UEFA champions league but the final is two-legged. The total amount of games necessary for all three trophies to unlock is 14.
Awarded for single-handedly guiding a team to cup glory [Cup Mode]
In this mode you will want to pick the smallest tournament available which will be the African Cup (14 teams), you will notice when you pick a team that the two at the top don’t have an opponent, you can become one of those teams by selecting them and switching your team with them. Use the tips I left earlier in the guide (scoring and then holding the ball) and this extremely easy silver trophy will be unlocked.

Awarded for making a professional debut in [Become a Legend]
In the main menu, click on Football Life and you will get two options (created player or real-life player) of the two you will want to click Be a Legend to start your own career.
Simply play a normal game as your created player or an actual player. If you play for 5 minutes or 90 minutes it doesn't matter, The trophy will be unlocked when you return to the be a legend menu. This will not be unlocked playing a training match, it needs to be League, cup or even Champions League if you're qualified for it.
Awarded for winning the League Title in [Become a Legend]
If you followed the suggestion I made above about using an actual player in the road map, then this trophy shouldn't pose you any problems. If you picked say Lionel Messi (I picked a 109 Franz Beckenbauer), then advancing the date a certain amount of time should allow you to see how well your team of choice are performing, odds are they will be relatively high in the league, you may need to play a few games to ensure they are crowned League Champions.
League Best Eleven
Awarded for being picked for the Team of the Season in [Become a Legend]
I suggest playing this with a created player more than a real-life player as simulating will not unlock the trophy, well for me I simulated just one match to test and the trophy didn't unlock. Playing every single match should allow you to have gained a substantial amount of points that can be very beneficial to new skill and position which I'll address later in the guide. If you would like to have an easier time at Team of the season, keep starting Be A Legend until you're playing in the Portuguese league like year which only consists of 30 League games.
Since I played both league and cup when I unlocked the trophy, I'm not sure skipping cup games will or will not hinder your chances of being picked for Team of the Season. I'm not really sure it would since only league games should count.
UEFA Champions League Debut
Awarded for making your UEFA Champions League debut in [Become a Legend]
If playing as a real-life player, you can simulate until the champions league, which should take place in your first season but if you want to play as a created player this will most likely unlock in your second season (if you're playing in the champions league that is).
Awarded for winning the UEFA Best Player Award [Become a Legend]
Real-life player scenario. All you need to do is to become UEFA Champions League MVP, being top scorer and assister should progress your chances of being awarded with the UEFA Best player, an award which will be given the day after the Super Cup in August of the next season. To enhance the chances of winning this award, try to simulate league games if you're not trying for team of the season, keeping you fresh for the champions league games.
Pride of a Nation
Awarded for playing in the International Cup in [Become a Legend]
See World Footballer of the Year
World Footballer of the Year
Awarded for being named World Footballer of the Year in [Become a Legend]
Play for most of the first season as either a created player or real-life player as this is the most important part, the award is not given out until the third season. You start either career with a mandatory two-year contract, if you don't have a contract that runs into the third year the trophy will not unlock as the game will deem you retired since you have no club. Whatever offer arrives, accept it as it will give you the proper tools to unlock this rather easy trophy.
For the PES 2010 version of this trophy, I had to play five full seasons to be given world footballer of the year but this time all you need to do is be named MVP at the World Cup (International Cup) and also playing in that tournament will unlock Pride of a Nation too.
That was the way I tested on another account, however mine unlocked in the December (the trophy unlocks in December) of my second year. After I loaded my save to get in the team of the season and being named best player in the UEFA Champions League, to my surprise I was named World Footballer of the Year. In that time I did score 150 goals and assisted over 110 times, so either one of those options should unlock a rather easy gold trophy.
Awarded for being named Club Captain in [Become a Legend]
CREATED PLAYER ONLY
I repeat, this can only be unlocked with a created player.
Now this is the trophy that will pose the most trouble. I've read on the forums how people have unlocked this trophy in a third season with another team, after signing with them for just the year. A friend of mine unlocked theirs in three seasons too but playing with the generic team they were given.
I on the other hand unlocked the trophy the same way some people unlocked it last year, i.e on my second year after the last game of the league season. The Champions League had already finished and the cup too in which I was named top scorer, assister and MVP and so on.
Albeit not a perfect way of unlocking this trophy but could help is the enormous amount of goals you score and assist, I would suggest scoring more since the latter will have you worried since how bad at finishing our team-mates are on Be A Legend.
I can't say what a guaranteed way of unlocking this trophy is, because I've mentioned three different scenarios, it may depend on the team. My friend and I played for different teams and we both had numerous different captains throughout the year, just play the mode as intended and hopefully you'll unlock this worthwhile trophy like I did.
Awarded for learning to play in another position in [Become a Legend]
See The Multi-Talented
Awarded for acquiring a New Skill in [Become a Legend]
My suggestion from last year of removing all skill cards and positions and playing a match or matches cannot be done, as you will not gain either of the trophies.
This year you are required to use the in game Be A Legend and Master League shop which has both the options for learning a new position and skill, costing you 500points each. I suggest picking a real-life player for this as you earn more points playing in the UEFA Champions League (72) to the regular (40) league games, allowing you to earn the 500 points quicker.
You can unlock both these trophies in two different ways:
- Purchase the new position and playing however many games required for the exp to learn the position, know that training plays a part too so participating in matches isn't the be all for the exp side of things. Then with the points unlocked playing the certain amount of matches, use the purchase new skill option and continue to play until that unlocks.
- Raise the 500 you need, make a separate save, purchase the position, simulate up until you have learned the new position. Load your other save, buy a new skill and simulate all the way.
I personally went with option one since I was using the games played to unlock League's Best Eleven.

First Glory: Master League
Awarded for your first win in [Master League]
See No.1 Club
Awarded for Winning Promotion to a Top League in [Master League]
This is the only trophy that needs to be unlocked in a second master league season or a first if you want to get promoted and work on the rest the following season, the choice is yours. Personally I unlocked promoted and then the rest of the trophies on a different save as I working between simulating both at different intervals.
All you require is a team of superb players as per my suggestion in the Road Map and where to put your team, considering last year I accidentally placed them in division one instead of two. The league you are searching for is the WE League which is the 2nd division to the 1st division of PES League. Use EDIT, then [league structure] and merely switch the team you've edited with whichever team you like from the WE League.
Simulate the entire season and at the end you should win the league comfortably and if for whatever reason you don't, promotion is very likely since you can be promoted by merely finishing in the top-two or three. I'm not fully aware which.

If you follow my tips from the top of guide on how to edit the best players into your team and you into the shortest league all of these trophies bar Promoted will be unlocked in just one season and you will not need to do a thing, as simulating has become easier this year around. Unlike last year where the coach would have to tell you about your opponents every week this year the coach will only speak if you have loaded the game upon a game day. Also the annoyance of having to speak with your players about being played when tired has been removed, allowing for seamless simulating, unlocking many trophies along the way.
With all these options at your disposal you will easily unlock:
- Winning your first match
- Winning the league
- Winning the champions league (progressing through the group stages)
- Winning the treble (league, cup and champions league)
The final trophy being number 1 will most commonly unlock when you've won every championship, but for me I was number 1 way before the season ended, granted I did use every Classic player and only conceded 4 goals all season.
Awarded for completing your debut match in [Online] No disconnections permitted
See First Glory: Competition
First Glory: Competition
Awarded for your first win in an [Online Competition]
In the main menu choose [Football Life] then [Master League Online] and then go to next match and choose [Competition]. Any trophy hunter should be looking out for the coach mode option so you don't have to do anything but watch and maybe change the game plan if the game isn't going your way. When I was able to win the competition match, the novice cup was available. unfortunately, when checking, I was unable to find the cup but you should be looking for the lower end of the tournaments for your best chance to win. I personally unlocked the win on my second game (since the first team I faced had an almighty team consisting of Messi and C. Ronaldo). If you do win on your second game then Online Debutant will have already unlocked but if you are very lucky and win at the first time of asking, you will unlock both trophies together. That shall only leave you buying your first player and the online portion of the game should be finished.
Wheeler and Dealer
Awarded for making your first ever signing in [Master League Online]
Navigating Online is somewhat different to last year as there is no stand-out online option. Yet you can enter the online portion of the game via master league which can be found in [Football Life], next choosing [Master League online]. Last year you were required to play a game for the option to purchase a player to be available, this season the availability is there from the start but you will not actually be able to afford any player. Every team will be given £500,000 (or the equivalent depending on your currency) yet the cheapest player is roughly around £489,000, which should be ready to buy but you will need to pay for their contract too.
To gain enough funds to actually purchase a player you shall need to play one online game and if you venture into competition first you will hopefully unlock First Glory: Competition on your first match.
Then after the match, even if you didn't win as participating should give you enough funds, so venture in the Master League online options to [sign player] using the button and sorting through transfer fee and descending order finding the cheapest possible player to buy, unless of course you want to play MLO properly not just for trophies you can buy whatever player you like to enhance your team and you will easily find some bargains with a few games played.

I've just spent the best part of a weekend trying to get the 'Proud Skipper' trophy using C.Ronaldo, only to read your trophy guide and see that I've totally wasted my time, lol.
Anyhow, when you say 'created player only', do you mean the default stats created player in BAL, or do you mean that I can create a super-stats player in Edit Mode and use him to grind out the trophy?

It HAS to be a player created via the Be A Legend mode.
Hopefully that clears it up.

I haven't tried to Platinum a PS3 PES game, because I haven't liked them enough to do so, hence my confusion about the trophy requirements.
PES 2013, in my opinion, is definitely the best version since PES5 back in the days of the PS2, so I just want to get the Platinum out of the way and then enjoy Master League again!
Anyhow, back to BAL; I'm presently playing for a low level dutch team at the moment and have fully played out the first 10 games of my first season. I've scored and assisted lots of goals, enough to ensure that I would remain top of those rankings even if I didn't play several games, so would it be safe to skip some games?
After wasting so much time on this already, I guess what I really want to know is how many games over the two seasons can I get away with not actually playing?

All you need to have happen is the captain should speak to you a few times and before the end of the champions league final or league depending on which league you're playing, he should speak to you again.

Thanks for the guide OP.
I have a tip for the cup winner trophy as I unlocked it in one match only.
Choose konami cup and make it so that three teams only participate with knockout system and then two teams will face each other and the third will qualify to the final directly, so choose your team to be the third one.
This way you will play only the final of this tournament and you will get the trophy by winning one match only.
I'll still wait for the skipper trophy since I don't have the patience now to play 10s of matches
