-Offline: 6 (S), 9 (G), 1 (P)

-Online: None

-Approximate Amount Of Time To : 10-15 Hours

Doing this cheat doesn't affect trophies. Doing this cheat is particularly helpful in getting the 'Master of Time' trophy. If you do this cheat it will also cut your playthroughs down to just 1 rather than 1.5. (Thanks to Nobyl Chickan for this information).

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is the first game in a trilogy of old PS2 games that has been remade for the PS3. It is remastered in HD and also comes with full 3D support. I would call the genre of this game a third person action & adventure platformer. The main aspects of the game feature the main character running across walls, jumping gaps, climbing, swinging, and other acrobatic styles on movement.

The trophies related to this game are pretty easy as the majority combine with the story. The others require you to defeat a certain number of enemies, find collectibles that are scattered throughout the game, use a certain power so much or so little & playing the game for over 10 hours.

Step 1: Complete The Game, Find All Of The Collectibles & Go For The Rewind Time Trophies

During this playthrough you will need to concentrate on a number of things, the first being time rewinds. As you play try to rewind time no more than 20 times for the ‘Game Master’ trophy, if you want to do 2 playthroughs which is understandable, then you could decide to rewind time more than 200 times instead which will earn you the ‘Master Of Time’ trophy. If you are going for 2 playthroughs then choose which trophy you are going for and stick to that!

1 + playthroughs is enough. Just start your game aiming to go for the ‘Game Master’ trophy and make a save about halfway through. Then carry on and complete the game as normal with no more than 20 rewinds being used.

Next just load the save that you made halfway through & complete the rest of the story as normal again. This time however, try to go for the ‘Master Of Time’ trophy and rewind time as much as you possibly can.

Essentially this will mean you only play 1.5 playthroughs. There is also a cheat however that helps with getting this trophy, hold :l3: and press :circle:, :circle:, :cross:, :square:, :square:, :cross:, :triangle:, :triangle:, and all your sand tanks will fill. This means you can keep rewinding & refilling until the trophy pops up.

If you do this cheat it will also cut your playthroughs down to just 1 rather than 1.5.

Also during this playthrough you will want to concentrate on both sets of collectibles. Firstly there are the 10 hidden fountains, they are not hard to find at all and can all be found with a little thorough searching. If you need help then follow the collectible guide below.

The other set is the 48 sand clouds that are scattered throughout. Once again these aren’t hard at all as most can be spotted by playing normally. Some may need extra searching so if you want follow the collectible guide for these below.

You also need to make sure you play for over 10 hour’s altogether. I’m not sure the re-loading of the save file will count towards the 10 hours played, so if this is the last trophy you need for the platinum you may have to leave your game running. Just make sure you turn the controller power save settings to ‘Off’ otherwise the game will pause itself, the time when paused doesn’t count towards the trophy.

Step 2: Optional

This is really only needed if you decided to do 2 playthroughs of the game.

It basically means you need to do the opposite of your first playthrough. If you went for the ‘Less than 20 rewinds’ trophy first then this time you need to go for the ‘more than 200 rewinds’ trophy or vice versa.

You may still need the 10 hours played trophy. Time from your first playthrough DOES carry over to your second playthrough, so it is just a matter of playing until you get it.

Finally, if you happened to miss a collectible in the first playthrough then this is definitely the time to find them all, so once again follow the collectible guides located below.

Sand Bearer – Obtain The Dagger Of Time

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=h89t]

This is gotten pretty early on in the game after you manage to get a feel for the controls & how to jump, cross gaps, climb, drop, fight etc. You will enter a rather large room where you have to climb and drop from quite a few ledges, you will then have to make your way across 5 poles in order to drop onto a large platform. Climb your way up the statue in here & the dagger is sitting up on top. Just walk up to it to pick it up and get your trophy.

Sands Of Time – Play The Game For Over 10 Hours

This is another simple trophy but again it may take time (10 hours of your time in fact). All you really need to do is play the game as normal. If you are new to the Prince of Persia games then your first play through may take 10 hours, the more veterans can easily complete it in just over 4.

If you are on 8 hours for example and need those 2 more hours then there is something you can do. Just leave the Prince somewhere and put your controller down, then come back in 2 hours and you should have the trophy. The only thing you need to do here is turn your controller power save option to off. Otherwise the controller will turn itself off and the game will automatically pause itself.

- TIME FROM YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH DOES CARRY ON TO YOUR SECOND!

- OVERWRITING YOUR PREVIOUS SAVE FILE IS O.K.!

- YOU CAN USE AS MANY SEPARATE SAVE FILES AS YOU WANT AND STILL GET THE TROPHY!

Sand Apprentice – Kill 150 Enemies

Please see the ‘Sand Warrior’ trophy below for a lot more information.

Master Of Time – Rewind Time 200 Times

This isn’t too hard, just a little tedious. Because of this trophy it also means you will have to go for the platinum in two playthroughs.

Anyway it is as simple as the description states. You need to use the dagger to rewind time no less than 200 times in total. You can start as soon as you receive the dagger, to rewind time just press :l1:, you do however need to make sure you have some full sand tanks first. Sand tanks are picked up by finishing enemies off by press :triangle:, you can also find sand clouds scattered throughout the game.

The best method for this is to go for it straight away. I killed an enemy and rewound time straight away, then I killed another and rewound time again etc. I knew that if I done it this way then as soon as I got the trophy for killing 150 enemies I would be very close to getting this.

There is also a cheat that helps with getting this trophy, hold :l3: and press :circle:, :circle:, :cross:, :square:, :square:, :cross:, :triangle:, :triangle:, :cross: and all your sand tanks will fill. This means you can keep rewinding & refilling until the trophy pops up.

If you do this cheat it will also cut your playthroughs down to just 1 rather than 1.5.

Secret of ArgabahFind And Drink From All Hidden Fountains

The secret fountains are hidden throughout the game, there are 10 to find in total. These fountains increase your health bar by a small amount every time you drink from one. See the list below for the location of each:

1 – During the game you will come to a room where you will have to drop down into where a group of enemies are at the bottom. After you have taken care of these enemies you will have to make your way to the top where a save point is located. Go past this save point through the doorway and head to the left where a pile of rocks are stacked up. Climb these rocks and drop down ONCE on the other side, if you look on the wall beside you there is a hole in the wall. Just head through this wall to find your first hidden fountain.

2 – The next one isn’t until you get past the palaces defence system puzzle, shortly after you have completed it you will enter a huge area which is outside. You will know it’s the correct room because enemies will attack you here, there is a square platform in the centre, there is also a health fountain in one corner and a save point in another. Make your way up this section until you get to a small room where spikes are on the floor. You need to wall run and jump to the ladder that is in the middle of this section. Climb the ladder and jump the next gap to the left, there is a sand cloud just around this corner & just above is a hole in the wall where this hidden fountain is.

3 – The next is located after the small boss battle that is inside the castle, you will be back in the same room where you first started this section. Once the battle is won you will be outside the castle, your objective is to head down to the bottom where you will find a lever. Once you are here pull the lever and enter the doorway. Back inside the castle you will need to pole swing quite a lot of times to reach the top and land on a platform, here will be a doorway to your left or a ladder to go up to another platform. You want to take the doorway, the hidden fountain is inside there.

4 – This is found immediately after you obtain the first powerful sword. So once you have picked up your new sword wall run back to the ledge where you came from and smash open the weak iron door. Go down the stairs a little bit & you will see a crack in the wall to the right hand side, smash the wall open with your new sword and find your hidden fountain inside.

5 – There is a section in the game that requires you to balance across small narrow walls, there is also flying bird enemies in this section that try to attack you when you are near them. Complete all your balancing parts and wall run parts after that until you end up wall running over the massive bronze gate with the orange symbol on it. When you land on the next section there will be a few barrels and a pressure switch on the floor. Ignore this pressure switch and instead smash the barrels, behind these barrels is a weak wall with a slight crack in it, break the wall and enter the new doorway to find the next hidden fountain.

6 – This is just after the cave area where you had to jump from a lot of icicles in a row. You will emerge into a blue room that has water at the bottom of it. This room contains a lot of ledges and ropes to jump onto. Make your way through this section until you get to the very last rope. You can tell when your on the last rope because there is a bright light shining down from the ceiling above you, you would of also had to jump on 3 ropes in a row just to get to this one. Instead of climbing the rope look to the right and you will see a hole in the wall, swing on your rope and jump into this hole. Watch out for the blades at the bottom & look upwards at the poles, you need to climb up the wall and swing across these poles all the way to the left hand side. As you land on the ledge you will see the wall is slightly cracked, break open the wall and head inside for your 6th hidden fountain.

7 – This isn’t found until you meet up with Farah once more, you will eventually come to a library & your objective in this room is to move the mirrors around. As you go up through this area you will climb a ladder, at the top of this ladder is some spiky pincers. Climb up the wall and grab onto the beams then make your way to the left to drop onto the platform. You can go left here to a mirror in the middle of the room or straight ahead past some spinning spiky discs, you want to go straight ahead. Time your wall run so you don’t fall & reach the platform on the other side, you will know when you have the right platform because there is something glowing on it. Go past the glowing object and you will see the wall behind it is cracked. Break open the wall and head inside for your next hidden fountain.

8 – The next fountain is quite a long way away, it isn’t until you come to a huge prison area. Make your way to the bottom of this are, do this by constantly wall running and pressing the switches on the walls. As you reach the bottom a lot of enemies will attack you so take care of them however you wish. Next you will need to move a box from one side of the room to the other to open a small door, go through this door and just along the right hand wall is a weak part. Smash this open and go inside to find your hidden fountain.

9 – Shortly after the prison area is your next fountain. You will have to make your way up a torture room until you are once again back outside the castle, take care of the enemies that will attack you here. Now you are required to press a few switches to open a gate which leads to a bridge. Cross the bridge and enter the doorway at the end, the path to the right is blocked by some fallen stones so take the left path. After a few turns you will be facing a wall that is cracked quite a lot, smash the wall as normal and enter for the hidden fountain.

10 – This is found just after you have collected the most powerful sword. Go out of the section to the right and swing on the poles to reach the enemies, kill these however you like. Now normally you would need to go up to continue with the story, but if you move over to the right of this platform and drop below you will see some small brown ledges. Drop on to the ledges & eventually on to the brown beam that runs underneath the platform. Continue along this beam and jump up into a secret area underneath, in this room is a brown door, just run over to it and smash it open to find your last hidden fountain in the game.

NOTE: Don't worry if you found a fountain and then died. Finding a fountain acts as a checkpoint so you won't need to go back and find it if you do happen to die.

Prince Of Sand – Finish The Game

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=h8zt]

All you have to do here is finish the game. The last section simply requires you to battle the Vizier & defeat him.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/14.jpg (G)

Sand Warrior – Kill 300 Enemies

This is a very easy trophy to get. There are more than 300 enemies in total throughout the game & every one counts towards this trophy, there are:

Sand Enemies:

– Bats

– Big sand enemies that have gold armour & carry a sword (also dressed in blue)

– Birds

– Beetles

– Brownish enemies that carry chains

– Brownish enemies that carry little knives

– Brownish enemies that carry sledgehammer weapons

– Brownish enemies that carry clubs

– Sand enemies that carry spears (dressed in blue)

– Sand enemies that carry spears (dressed in red)

– Women enemies (dressed in red)

Other:

– There are the normal enemies at the beginning of the game. The ones you fight before the sands of time have been released.

– I believe the Vizier must also count towards this trophy

Other:

– I believe the Vizier must also count towards this trophy

There are a number of different moves that can easily help you defeat these, the ones I found most useful were:

Constantly tapping :square: – This helps to knock the enemy over ready to finish them off

Press :triangle: to slow the enemy down, press :square: to knock them into the air & then :square again to cut the enemy in half

– Press :triangle: to slow the enemy down the press :square to knock them into the air. This time let them fall to the ground, when they land run up to them and press :triangle: to finish them off – This move and the above move allows you to concentrate on other enemies whilst this one is in slow motion.

– Tap :l1: to put enemies into slow motion – If you are in a tight spot or need to hit an enemy that keeps blocking your attacks then this works well

– Run up to an enemy and press :cross: to jump over it, then press :square: & :square: again to knock that enemy over – This helps for quicker finishing again

– Run up to a wall and press :cross: to jump onto it, then press :square: to rebound off and hit an enemy – Once again this helps to knock enemies over which helps for quicker finishing

– Hold :r1: and tap :l1: – This puts you into a beserk type mode. You will move amazingly fast killing any enemies that you attack. It is very useful when you are surrounded by a lot of enemies. This does however require all of your sand tanks to be full.

If you are in a tight spot don’t forget to block using :r1:, it can give you enough time to get away and rethink your strategy. Also keep an eye out for small pools of water or sinks of water scattered throughout the game. Drinking from one of these with the :r1: button will help the Prince regain some of his lost health.

Game Master – Complete The Game Rewinding The Time Less Than 20 Times

Not really a tricky one this one, you just need to make sure you take your time throughout the game. I recommend you go for this on your second playthrough, purely because you have played through already so you should know where to go and how to go about getting there. Knowing the routes, tricks and tips will surely cut down on the amount of deaths you rack up & will therefore cut down on the amount of times you have to rewind time.

If you don’t fancy using the dagger at all then there is a way. If you happen to fall to your death or be killed by an enemy then just let the timer run out, the timer is only a window of opportunity for you to use the dagger and rewind time. Once it runs out and you are dead you will have the option to retry form the last checkpoint. If you use this method then please be very aware that some checkpoints are quite far back & if you die without reaching the next one then you will have to go all the way back reversing any hard work that you had done up to that point.

Sand Collector – Collect All 48 Sand Clouds

Sand Clouds are small areas of light/sand that can be retrieved with the dagger. To retrieve a sand cloud simply walk up to one and press :triangle:. The sand clouds help the prince to regain sand tanks which can be used for the dagger. You also acquire a new sand tank after every 8 sand clouds you pick up, meaning you can get an extra 6 in total.

Here are the locations of all 48 sand clouds:

1 – This is only available after you have collected the Dagger & entered the new section of the game (after all of the cut scenes). Take care of the sand enemies & follow the girl. You will eventually come to an area with a bed at the bottom of the room. Also down the bottom under the stairs is your first sand cloud.

2 – This is found just after the last sand cloud. After you reach the top of this room you will have to go through a doorway, just through this doorway is a pile of rocks to the right hand side. Climb these rocks to the right and up here is a sand cloud.

3 – Soon you will have to drop down in a room with a group of enemies at the bottom. After you have taken care of these enemies you will have to make your way to the top where a save point is located. Go past this save point and through the doorway covered by benches, to the right down the hall a bit is another sand cloud.

4 – Head back the way you came from the last sand cloud to the pile of rocks (this is where the first hidden fountain is located). Drop down the other side of the rocks all the way to the bottom, head forward and jump the gap in the floor to your next sand cloud.

5 – You will enter a cut scene where you first talk to the girl you have been following & will also enter into a battle with a few beetles. After the battle is done head back the way you came, at the end of the hallway is two doorways, take the left doorway and follow the hall round to the left for your next sand cloud.

6 – After your last sand cloud go back and take the right doorway, in this huge room are a few more sand clouds. Head across the gap and go outside where a small cut-scene will play. Go across to the left onto the next platform and head back inside to the big room. Make your way across the poles in the ceiling and keep dropping down the levels until you reach another platform, on this platform is your next sand cloud.

7 – Continue the level by crossing the gap to the left and heading up by swinging on the poles hanging down. Cross the next small gap to reach the next sand cloud.

8 – Once again continue on in this room. Head to the left by grabbing the poles and reach a platform sticking out of the wall. Drop down a few levels from this platform to solid ground once more. Cross the gap by swinging on the poles to reach your last platform, jump over the balcony on the right to reach a huge pole which will take you down to the ground floor. Slide down & turn around, you will see the last sand cloud in this room in the far right corner.

9 – Head out of the last room where you will find a gap with spikes at the bottom. Just wall run and jump to safe ground on the right. The sand cloud will pretty much be right next to you as you land.

10 – The next one isn’t until you get past the palaces defence system puzzle, shortly after you have completed it you will enter a huge area which is outside. You will know it’s the correct room because enemies will attack you here, there is a square platform in the centre, there is also a health fountain in one corner and a save point in another. The sand cloud you want lies in the last corner of the area behind a few fallen rocks.

11 – Make your way up this section until you get to a small room where spikes are on the floor. You need to wall run and jump to the ladder that is in the middle of this section. Climb the ladder and jump the next gap to the left, the sand cloud is just around this corner. (Just above is a hole in the wall where hidden fountain number 2 is).

12 – Your next sand cloud isn’t until after you end up on the outside of the castle (after the small boss battle). Simply cross over the gap using the wooden platforms on the side of the wall. Take care of all the enemies that attack you when you land, once that is done head up the small set of stairs to the right and in the corner is the sand cloud.

13 – Carry on through this outside section down to the left hand side, you will land on solid ground next to a lever. Turn the lever and head down to the right but instead of going through the door turn around and the sand cloud is located at the end of the walkway.

14 – Shortly after you will enter a large room with a lot of staircases in where you and Farah will have to take it in turns to pull levers. When you reach the bottom the sand cloud is located on top of some wooden crates.

15 – After you exit the previous room of staircases you will be back outside the castle. Jump over the right edge of the stairs you are on to find another sand cloud.

16 – The next one isn’t until you get past the ‘Zoo’ area. After you have completed that area and gone through the door you will come to another section. There is a slope heading down & a path going left where some beetles are, take care of these beetles first. Next you have to wall run and jump to the switch that is dangling down from the ceiling, inside the room that this opens up is your next sand cloud.

17 – Enter the next area where it shows you a couple of bridges. Simply follow the path to the left and up the palm trees to the ledge. Wall run across to the right to grab the next ledge & jump to the palm tree opposite you. Simply slide down this onto the ground and you will practically land on the sand cloud.

18 – Back inside the castle you will first enter a small bath room with a few enemies, the sand cloud is in the next bath room (the larger one) with plenty more enemies to defeat. After you have killed the enemies simply figure out how to open the two timed doors on the left hand side of the room, the sand cloud is just past those doorways.

19 – Following on from the previous room you had to move a box into a tunnel. Retrace your steps back to the first bath room to find the box on the left hand side. Push it forward and over the edge to the left, hop down and manoeuvre it to the right where a ladder is hanging down from the wall. Climb this ladder to find your sand cloud waiting above.

20 – Continue on until you find yourself back in the large bath room, this time however you will be at the very top. Cross the gaps using the poles and reach the balcony on the other side, your sand cloud is on the floor here.

21 – When you’re back on the ground floor of the large bath room you will have to smash through the weak wall in the left hand corner to progress through the story. Go through the newly formed doorway and you will enter a large cave area. Continue pushing on until you get to some ledges, climb these ledges and hop off of the wall onto a single standing pillar in the middle of the caves, on here is your next sand cloud.

22 – Your next one is in the ‘Soldiers Mess Hall’ area, you can spot your in the right place because in here there is a lot of benches and you will encounter a new type of enemy. Just take care of the enemies as normal and find where you have to go. Wall run slightly & swing on a few poles until you reach a ledge to climb. When you’re on this ledge you should be able to see the sand cloud to the right hand side.

23 – Continue up until you are back on the outside of the castle. Run around to the right and complete the following pole swings, wall running & trap dodging manoeuvres until you press the pressure switch to gain access back into the soldiers mess hall. This time you will be at the top of the room, head down to the left and pull the switch to allow Farah climb up towards you. Head back up the stairs and before going back outside there is a door to the right with a small gap underneath, when Farah crawls under and opens it up the next sand cloud is just inside.

24 – A short while after the last one you will come to a bridge (not the one with the sand enemies on), where you will get attacked by a bunch of flying birds. Take care of them and continue across, after the cut-scene showing the bridge collapsing face the save point on the left hand side. Simply pass to the left of the save point and there will be a sand cloud round the corner.

25 – Make your way down from the last sand cloud, wall run to the left, up & grab the pole quickly before the platform collapses on you. After you have climbed up keep going left and jump the gap to grab the pillar, on the floor the pillar is attached to is your next sand cloud.

26 – As you go on you will enter a section where you have to walk along a lot of narrow walls whilst balancing, this section also contains flying birds. Progress through this section until the bird’s first start to attack you, try to stay on the wall because if you drop from here you will die. Carry on a little further and you should reach a switch, pull this down and a ladder will fall to the ground floor. Go down this ladder and head to the right hand side of the area, the sand cloud is hidden behind a metal gate.

27 – This is in the same area as number 26. After you have pulled most of the levers you will need to balance once again on the narrow walls. This time the gate is lowered so you can wall run across it to a section that was unreachable beforehand, the sand cloud will be right next to you as you land.

28 – Shortly after you have passed through the big bronze gate you will enter a cave area. As you drop down and continue through this section you will be forced to jump away from the wall and land on a small platform in the middle of the running water. On this platform is the sand cloud.

29 – Carry on through the caves until you come to the massive icicles hanging down from the ceiling of the cave. Simply complete both of these sections by hopping on each icicle individually. When you next land on solid ground there will be a sand cloud waiting for you.

30 – You will eventually enter a room filled with water on the floor. There are a lot of ledges to walk across as well as ropes to swing on. Just go through this section as normal for the story and you will get to a part where you have to swing from one rope to another. After you have done that you should be able to swing to a ledge to the right hand side, jump onto the ledge and head round the left corner. Wall run across this gap and in a small alcove to the left is the sand cloud.

31 – This is in the same area as number 30. Shortly after collecting the last sand cloud you will have to drop down a small shaft with two spinning blades, take your time and reach the bottom. As you drop you will come to a box, push this box out into the water. Drop down and push the box to the right hand side where a small ledge is. Climb onto the box and the sand cloud is on that ledge.

32 – This is in the same area as numbers 30 & 31. As usual continue completing this section, but stop when you reach the last rope. You will know when it’s the last rope because you would have jumped on 3 ropes in a row to get there. There is also a bright light shining down from a hole in the ceiling above the rope. Instead of climbing the rope swing to the hole in the wall on the right hand side, land on the ledge and turn left, the sand cloud will be just across the gap in front of you.

33 – Once you have climbed the rope from the last section you will emerge from a well. Once you have dealt with the enemies look in the opposite corner to the save point, behind a palm tree is this sand cloud.

34 – Shortly you will come to a part where you need to jump onto a rope and press two switches. You need to quickly jump off of the rope, hit a switch and jump off of the wall to grab the rope once more. Go for the white switch first and then the yellow one. After you have done that you will go through the door you have unlocked, straight away look to your right & the sand cloud is in the grass.

35 – After the next time part you will come to a room with a lot of enemies. Defeat them and continue with the story as normal. You will have to break a few walls until you get to a switch hanging down from the ceiling. As you are looking at the switch just to the left is the sand cloud.

36 – Almost straight after the last sand cloud you will have to cross a small gap by wall running. You need to go left to carry on with the story, but just to the right in a small alcove is this sand cloud.

37 – This one is found in the massive library room where you have to move all of the mirrors. As always just go through the area doing what is necessary to progress, eventually you will climb a ladder where some spiked pincers are at the top. Just to the right hand side of these is the sand cloud.

38 – This is in the same area as number 37 & is on the opposite side of the room. Continue with all your wall running etc until you manage to land on the ledges on the opposite side of the room, run forward to the very edge of the ledge and drop down on the other side. You will practically land on this sand cloud.

39 – Your next one is located in the observatory puzzle area. When you step onto the platform for the first time Farah will raise it one level, jump off of it forward and climb up onto the ledge. Go left a little bit and the sand cloud is just here slightly out of sight.

40 – After the observatory area has been completed you will eventually make it outside to a grassy type area where some enemies are waiting. Kill the enemies and complete all the necessary tasks to get through this are until you come to a section with stairs and spikes that spin round. Make your way down to the bottom of the stairs where some beetles are waiting to attack you. Kill the enemies & turn around, just next to the bottom set of stairs is the sand cloud.

41 – Carry on until you are back outside the castle facing a broken a bridge. Just in front of you is a gap in the bridge, drop down the gap to the left hand side & a little bit more to the left behind a tree is the sand cloud.

42 – This is very near to sand cloud 41. Stay on the bottom section and follow the path forward towards the small pool of water. Continue around the corner and go the end of the path again & then end next to the door is the sand cloud.

43 – Continue on with the story and you will come to a huge prison. You need to constantly wall run and jump here to get down to the ground. Once you are on the ground floor there is an open prison cell on the opposite side of the room, in this cell is the sand cloud.

44 – Just after the prison cell room is a tiny corridor that leads to a torture room. Just at the bottom to the left hand side of this room is your next sand cloud.

45 – This is in the same area as number 44. Just make your way to the top of the room until you have to cross the gap using a beam. As you land on the opposite side you will be right next to the sand cloud.

46 – Climb the torture room until you are outside once more. Deal with the enemies that attack you here & make your way towards the save point that is in the right hand corner of this area. Go past the save point and up the stairs to the left, just at the top is the next sand cloud.

47 – This is just after the last sand cloud. Once you have collected the last sand cloud you will have to press a number of switches until a gate opens in the area, just go through this gate & straight ahead of you is your next sand cloud.

48 – This is right near number 47. Just continue ahead across the bridge after picking up number 47 & enter the doorway at the end. Turn right straight away & next to the pile of rocks is the final sand cloud in the game.

Secret Trophies

Full Circle – Activate Castle’s Defences

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=2ui4]

This is the first major puzzle you will come to in the game. You will be standing on a platform with two levers in the middle, one raises the platform up or down & the other spins it left or right. Your objective is two match the light poles to their correct position on the platform. If you look closely all of the poles & square parts of where they go in the platform have moon symbols that will match. You just need to align these up in the correct order.

If you make a mistake you will hear the man above you shout something like ‘be careful, you need to think ahead’. If you get one correct then you may hear him say ‘That’s two’. Just use his sayings as a guideline to how well you’re doing. Once you have completed this puzzle you will get the trophy.

One Hard Decision – Defeat Your Father

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=if45]

A short while after you have travelled up through the open courtyard area you will end up in the palace room where you first began this of the castle section. Once you are back in here you will be attacked by a bunch of enemies yet again. One of these enemies is your father. Simply get rid of the others first and finish your father off last as obviously he is the strongest. I found that he blocked all normal sword attacks, I was only able to hit him when I ran and jump over him then hit him in his back with my sword. Do that a couple of times and he will go down.

This can actually be quite challenging, so make full use of the small pools of water at the back of the room. Drinking the water with :r1: will restore some of your health.

Sword Of Strength – Obtain The First Sword

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=0nf3]

During the course of the story you will enter a couple of large bath rooms. The first time you enter the larger one you will notice a weak looking door and a crack in the wall, these can only be opened once you have obtained this sword. Your objective is to solve the bath puzzles & make your way to the top of the room. Once you get here it’s a simple case of crossing a few gaps to a small platform sticking out of the wall. Land on this platform and make your way to the stone slab in the middle, on here is the sword.

The Elevator – Survive The Elevator Fight

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=c if]

You will know when you are in the elevator because it is a circular type room that (obviously) works as an elevator. You need to use it to take you to the top of this tower where you will eventually find the hourglass.

Enter the room and cross to where Farah is standing, the elevator will then start to ascend. Soon after you will begin to get attacked by a lot of enemies, take care of these however you wish. I found using the dagger to make enemies go in slow motion to be hugely effective here, you can put a few into slow motion and then go concentrate on the others. Also try to make as much use of the two fountains on either side of the elevator, is you drink from them then they can restore your health. I also suggest you stay near or keep a watchful eye on Farah, if she dies you will fail this section and will have to start on the elevator again from the very bottom. Simply kill all of the enemies and reach the top to earn this trophy.

Ultimate Sword – Obtain The Third Sword

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=m 34]

Near to the end of the game you will eventually reach the hourglass, after the cut-scenes that follow you will be in a mysterious room with about 6 doorways. The secret to this room is entering the doorways in the correct order.

TIP: To know the correct order, simply walk around the room slowly, as you get next to the doorway you need to enter you should here some water trickle, when you do enter the doorway & begin to find the next correct one.

Do this for the first and second level to get out of this room. After the next cut-scene you will be by yourself, follow the corridor passed the enemies to an outside section where a slab of stone is located in the middle. On this stone slab is your next sword but there is a barrier protecting it.

Located around this area is four mirrors on moveable stone, you need to move all four mirrors so they catch the light & line them up with more mirrors lined around the outside of the area. You want to line them up correctly so the last mirror reflects onto the strange symbol attached to the huge stone slab, that will bring down the barrier which will give you access to the sword.

TIP: Look out for the 4 darker areas on the floor in this section, it will give you an idea of where the 4 mirrors need to sit.

The Big Fight – Kill The Vizier

This is story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=iu04]

This is the last boss in the game & simply requires you to kill the Vizier. You will have the dagger to hand here but it won’t be as effective as normal. The Vizier will almost always block your normal sword attacks with :square: and will always block your dagger attack (:triangle:), you also can’t jump up and over the Vizier by using :cross:.

So there are a basically only two ways to make sure to hit him. The first is with :square: attacks, even though he may block 90% of these attacks a few will still get through, so just keep attacking him. Alternatively you can wait for him to attack you, press :r1: to block this attack and immediately follow up with a counter, this works a lot of the time. The other way is to slow down time using :l1:, you can land some hits this way & it also solves the problem of not being able to jump over him.

The Vizier will send 3 clones of himself out to attack you, once you have dealt with these he leaves himself open to be hit. Run up to him and whack him a couple of times until a cut-scene plays. Once the cut-scene has finished run up to the Vizier for the final time and finish him off, you will have killed the final boss and earned your trophy.

I have to admit, your guide is very detailed concerning combat tactics and locations of the fountains/sand clouds, there's very good things. But I still prefer using videos for the collectibles, as a video is better than words in my opinion.

you have to take people who use mobile phones/iPods into consideration though, not everything works when you use those, and words always work.

I have left a space in the guide to put the videos in for the collectibles. I'm still trying to find some videos aswell. I didn't want to use the ones you have because it would seem like i'm copying you, if I can't find different ones soon then I think I will have to use them.

Quick addendum to the fighting guide : the combo http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/Cross18x18.png to jump over and http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/square18x18.png http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/square18x18.png works for every ennemy in the game except the soldiers with blue armour (and maybe the last boss I can't remember).

For the soldiers in blue armour, use the http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/Cross18x18.png against a wall and then http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/square18x18.png, fastest way to deal with them.

And for the 200 rewinds trophy, I think I have a "quicker" way to get it. I haven't play the HD version yet (AC Brotherhood takes all my free time) but I've finish PoP 1 a lot of time. Would it be easier to find a save spot next to a gap, a hole or whatever that kills you instantly and use all your sands to rewind just before jumping into it ? And then use the restart from checkpoint. It should keep the rewind counter and the checkpoint would refill your sands back to the same amount when you saved.

This method should be use near the end (or reloading before the final boss just after the first playthrough), and after getting the "use less than 20 rewinds trophy" so you could have both in one playthrough (and you'll have more sands tanks to use without dying).

If someone could try that and tell us :)

See, playing the game first actually helps with information rather than speculation. The fighting combo does not work for every enemy in the game. Most of the enemies towards the end will just throw you down when you jump on them or will actually block your sword attacks when you do it. And I mentioned it doesn't work for the last boss aswell.

The sand tank method won't work either I think. If you restart from a checkpoint then I believe your rewinds will reset to what they were before you died, therefore it needs to be done in one playthrough meaning you need 2 playthroughs for the plat.

My bad, I've finished this game a lot of time on PC in 2003 and I was sure these combos were always working.

I'll try for this one, I've got nothing to lose, except one hour :p

For The Big Fight trophy;

[spoiler=1]You state in the guide that you're unable to jump over the Vizier. My tactic however mainly consisted of jumping over, :square: (:square::square: when i had the chance), block, repeat. He would occasionally block the jump move though.

I'm just nitpicking really, i forgot about the slow down time power so the only times i ever used it was by mistake when my intention was to actually reverse time :p

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm kinda ticked off. I decided (partially for nostalgia) I'd dig up an old Bradygames strategy guide I had for this game. It had the locations of the Sand Clouds and fountains marked.

I guess the guys who made it just never found ALL OF THEM!!!!

At the very end of the game and I got every cloud and fountain they mentioned and no Trophy for either, so I assume that they must have missed some. I'm gonna use the guide here from now on.

I can also confirm you should get the 200 rewinds during the fight once you first enter the small bath room after leaving the Zoo. This is provided you use all sant tanks as soon as you fill them, and provided you picked up at least 16 sand clouds on the way.

Is there only 16 up to that point, or is there actually more & you didn't get them?
