Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is originally a game that came out in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, as a timed exclusive. Then it came on PC, GameCube and Xbox in early 2004. The game was a critical and financial success, spawning a new trilogy of games that rocked the previous generation. Now, it comes back, in high definition and in 3D, with trophies, on our PlayStation 3.

Step 1: Completing the game and getting all the sand clouds and fountains

This is quite simple: all you have to do is complete the game pretty much in a normal way, while following the walkthroughs for getting all the sand clouds and fountains. I STRONGLY advise to use a different game save each time so you can check if you got everything, and eventually to retry a moment where you used too much rewinds, in order to get (G) Game Master. All other trophies are either not missable (as they are story-related), or very hard to miss (Sand Apprentice, Sand Warrior). For these two, just kill every enemy you see and don't skip them.

Step 2: Getting Sands of Time/Master of Time

The game can be completed in roughly 8 to 10 hours. In the "second playthrough", all you have to do is to load a mid-game save, where the dagger is loaded with 6 or 7 sand tanks, and use it abusively throughout the game to get the (S) Master of Time trophy. Then, if you managed to get every trophy under 10 hours, ensure the battery of your controller is good, disable the auto-turn-off function of the controller in the XMB, let the game run and do something else until the trophy pops.

Trophy guide

Obtain the Dagger of Time

You'll earn this trophy very early in the game, after some minutes of playing. This is a story related-trophy and it can't be missed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/06.jpg (S) Sands of Time

Play the game for over 10 hours

Self-explanatory. Getting this trophy is very easy, as it comes after time. It should come late in the first playthrough, or during the second playthrough. If you managed to get every trophy in these 10 hours, just let the game run (disable the auto shutdown of the controller).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/12.jpg (S) Sand Apprentice

Kill 150 enemies

See (G) Sand Warrior.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/13.jpg (S) Master of Time

Rewind time 200 times

This trophy should be earned in the second playthrough, as getting (G) Game Master can be tricky. To boost it, load a mid-game save where your Dagger have a good number of sand tanks. Then use all your rewinds near a sand cloud, then absorb the cloud and rewind again. Then continue to the next sand cloud and repeat. You can also absorb the sand from enemies and rewind immediately after.

(G) Gold Trophies (G)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/03.jpg (G) Secret of Agrabah

Find and drink from all hidden fountains

The hidden fountains can be found from holes in the walls at unusual places. After you enter them, there's a long corridor heading to the fountain. Drinking at the fountain (you will be forced to) will upgrade your health bar. To find every fountain, there's a video showing everything. Be sure you don't miss one as you can't go backwards in the game without using previous saves.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR56ch5LBF4]YouTube - Prince of Persia The Sands of Time: las 10 mejoras de vida!! HD[/ame]

Be careful, if you drink to a fountain and you die before reaching a checkpoint, you must go again to the fountain.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/11.jpg (G) Prince of Sand

Finish the game

Self-explanatory. As being story-related, it can't be missed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/14.jpg (G) Sand Warrior

Kill 300 enemies

To earn this trophy, just kill (this means absorbing the sands inside the enemies using :triangle:, or killing them while they are slowed down using a Dagger special ability) 300 enemies. Everytime you enter into combat, ensure you kill everyone, and a little cutscene where the Prince put his weapons inside his cases should mark the end of the fight. The first trophy should come in the first half of the game, while the second should pop near the end of the game. if you have trouble to kill enemies, here's some useful tricks:

Heading towards an enemy: :cross:, :square:, :triangle: - Useful early in the game : the Prince jumps over the enemy, hits him then absorbs him directly. If it doesn't work, just do :square: twice instead.

Close to a wall: :cross:, :cross:, :square:, :triangle: - Same as above, but the Prince uses the wall to fly over the enemy, then hits him and absorbs him.

At the moment you are attacked: :r1:, :triangle: - Very useful all along the game, the Prince counters the attack and absorbs the enemy directly. But it requires a good timing and a lot of practice.

When you have a number of special tanks equal to your sand tanks: :r1: held, :l1: - Freeze instantly every enemy in the vicinity, then attacking them results in a two-hit kill. This attack empties all your special tanks.

Some enemies will counter many of your simple attacks, so experiment and see if they are vulnerable to some attacks they can't counter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/15.jpg (G) Game Master

Complete the game rewinding the time less than 20 times

This one is the hardest trophy of the game but it only requires knowledge of the game, or carefulness. Watching a complete walkthrough of the game can help, or better, owning the game before the re-release to know everything. My only advice is: better dying than using a rewind. Be careful as some checkpoints are quite far from each other.

Another advice: use a new save everytime you reach a save point. Just in case.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/16.jpg (G) Sand Collector

Collect all 48 Sand Clouds

Self-explanatory. You must have 10 sand tanks in the Dagger after getting every Sand Cloud. If you missed one, you'll know it quickly. Be careful as this trophy can be missed easily. To find all the sand clouds, there's a walkthrough there:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfIK9zhrUSc]YouTube - Prince of Persia The Sands of Time: las 48 nubes de arena!! 1/2 HD[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnWTV3-6rY4]YouTube - Prince of Persia The Sands of Time: las 48 nubes de arena!! 2/2 HD[/ame]

Like the fountains, you must get the Sand Cloud again if you die before reaching a save point.

(P) Platinum Trophy (P)

(P) Prince of Persia

Obtain all other trophies

Self-explanatory. This is a pretty easy platinum, but it's enjoyable and the game is great. Congratulations if you made it!

(H) Hidden Trophies (H)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/04.jpg (S) Full Circle

Activate castle's defences

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed. You'll unlock it after a puzzle part involving levers. Here's a walkthrough:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7FN_bZRRI0]YouTube - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (PS2) - 04/25 - "Thats FOUR!"[/ame]

You shouldn't have trouble because this is quite easy and you can't really get lost in that puzzle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/05.jpg (G) One Hard Decision

Defeat your father

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed. To kill your father:

[spoiler=Walkthrough 2]All you have to do is to kill every enemy in the vicinity, while protecting Farah. Red enemies can be killed by using jump/attack/absorb move (:cross:, :square:, :triangle:) while the blue enemies can be killes by using a walljump/attack/absorb move (:cross:, :cross:, :square:, :triangle:). When every enemy is killed, your father will be vulnerable. Keep doing jumping attacks (:cross:, :square:, :square:) until he gets knocked down. Absorb him to finish the fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/07.jpg (S) Sword of Strength

Obtain the first sword

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed. You'll get this trophy after getting a new, more powerful sword in the game, at around the third of the game. This sword is able to break some walls.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/08.jpg (G) The Elevator

Survive the elevator fight

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed. This fight is long, tough, with plenty of enemies. You'll probably need several tries, but make use of the walls, use every attack you can know, and try to not rewind at all to earn the (G) Game Master trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/09.jpg (G) Ultimate Sword

Obtain the third sword

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed. The third sword is the biggest sword and can kill enemies without absorbing them (because you earn it in a moment in the game where you don't have the Dagger). You'll need to get through a puzzle involving mirrors to get it. Here's a walkthrough:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxDCe-XWCE8]YouTube - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (PS2) - 22/25 - Naked Lady![/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/767/10.jpg (G) The Big Fight

Kill the vizier

This trophy is story-related and can't be missed.

[spoiler=Walkthrough 3]The final boss is pretty easy to kill. You'll have to fight three clones of the Vizier before being able to kill him. You can't slow him down directly using :triangle: but keep attacking him using jumping attacks, and using :l1: to slow down time and make your jumping attacks more successful. When the clones disappear, he will either send a new one, or when the three have been defeated, you'll be able to attack the Vizier directly. Then a little cutscene triggers, attack the Vizier again, then enjoy the ending and the credits. And the trophies of course.

You might want to note that if you are trying less than 20 rewinds and collectibles in the same run, that if you get a Sand Cloud or Fountain and then die before getting to a checkpoint or save point, you'll have to get that Cloud/Fountain again after the Retry.

Yep, I noticed, adding that. I'm going to send the guide after. :)

I've finished this Platinum today and you're wrong, Master of Time Can't be boosted, you have to keep going as the counter will not count retries, and it also does not stack between playthroughs.

the best way to do this is start a new game and waste all 4 tanks whenever you find a sand field or fight a monster, if you run through everything in this manner you should get it in about 1 hour.

also, here are the missing trophy pictures:

I loaded the non-hidden trophies to the site even though you didn't submit them. I've also given you credit for the images. I wont load the hidden trophies though because I don't know where they go on the list. If you'd like to provide that information for me then I can get the secrets loaded.

I can confirm this as well!

Must have tried 30-40 times using all my time rewinds then intentionally getting killed by the last boss and I knew something was wrong.

Good to know that it wasn't just me. Hopefully this won't take too long on the second playthrough and I should have my platinum tomorrow.

Sand Bearer isn't hidden, Sword of Strength is. And I corrected the mistake of my guide, I really thought this method of boosting would work.

sorry about that, it's hard to remember which was hidden after you have the full list, I didn't notice I switched them around.

for future references, you shouldn't post boosting methods before trying them out yourself, you can never know what the game counts and what it doesn't.

I have never understood why people make Spanish youtube guides. The main language used on the internet/youtube is English, and the spanish guides always lose views because of it.

Besides, the voiceovers are terrible. x_o They go through a lot of work casting the English voices, like in GTA games or Black Ops, and then I hear this German or Spanish dubbing that just makes me cringe. Surely that takes away from the experience when you don't hear Ed Harris in Black Ops.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Spanish is the most spoken language in the world.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Spanish is the most spoken language in the world.

And, like I said, most of youtube and the internet are in English, and most of the gaming population in the world uses English, which is why every major gaming site and video site is English, which is why Spanish videos get almost no views compared to their English equivalents.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

BTW, Chinese is the most spoken language in the world. Don't see many Chinese videos either. English is still above Spanish, so my question repeats itself.
