ROAD MAP

IMPORTANT NOTES

This Road Map & Trophy Guide is originally based on the Japanese Version of Persona 4: Golden. As such, when the English Version is released, there will be inevitable changes to some of the places/titles but nothing too major. All of the screenshots present were taken by me whilst playing the JP version.

Persona 4: Golden is a remake of the PS2 Classic "Persona 4", it follows the same storyline but has quite a few changes. ChibiDeidarar of GameFAQs.com has listed the changes here: Game Changes For those Who Didn't Know - Persona 4 Golden Message Board for PlayStation Vita - GameFAQs

The two main changes to note are that now you can select which skills Personas inherit during fusion which means no more clicking back and forth during Persona fusions in order to get the desired and also there are two new difficulty levels added to the three available:

Safety - Exp and Cash are quadrupled, shadows are weaker, you can get revived in battle as many times as you want.

Easy - Same as above except the Cash rate is normal and you cannot be revived during battle.

Normal - The way the game is meant to be played, if you die - you can choose to respawn at the start of the floor you died in and the exp rate is set to normal.

Hard - Same as risky but you can choose to respawn in the dungeon.

Risky - Enemies are extra-hard, you gain less Exp and Cash, dying means reloading your save.

A very special thanks to Persona4.wikidot.com, without their website this guide would not be as complete!

Step #1 (40-70 Hours) - Complete the Main Story for the first time:

Technically all the trophies except Hardcore Risette Fan (B) can be earned even on SAFETY Difficulty but I would suggest playing on at least Easy or Normal. This is because the amount of experience and cash you gain depends on what difficulty you're on and getting really high-levelled too quickly will stop you from getting the Risette trophy.

You don't need to worry about particular trophies at this time except for the choices made at a certain date to get on the 'True End' path, see The Truth In Your Hands. You should just enjoy the story, level up Social Links as you see fit and just enjoy the game. You will unlock the following story-related trophies:

The Other Self (B) (Obtain the Persona Izanagi)

A Prince Appears (B) (Rescue Yukiko)

A True Man’s Stand (B) (Rescue Kanji)

The Lounge Is Closed (B) (Rescue Rise)

Game Over (B) (Catch Mitsuo)

Boarder-Up Lab (B) (Rescue Naoto)

The Return of the Angels (B) (Rescue Nanako)

Breaking Through the Fog (B) (Catch Adachi)

Welcome Back (S) (Rescue Marie) *Missable, refer to the guide

The Truth In Your Hands (G) (Defeat Izanami) *Missable, refer to the guide*

In addition to the above, you should also earn the following en-route to the end of the main story:

Persona Shopper (B) (Buy a Persona from the Compendium)

A Favor for Marie (B) (Register a Skill Card)

Tactical Fighter (B) (Exploit Enemy Weakness 100 times)

Grasping at Greed (B) (Defeat a Golden Hand)

A True Bond (B) (Max out a Social Link)

A Special Lady (B) (Enter a special relationship with someone)

Fashion Plate (B) (Fight a battle in a costume)

Advantage Mine (B) (Enter a battle with Player Advantage)

Head of the Class (B) (Rank #1 in your class on an exam)

If you wish to get most of the 'easy' missable trophies out of the way during your first playthrough then have a look at the individual descriptions for these trophies:

Fusion Expert (B) (Perform 50 Persona fusions)

The Nose Doesn’t Always Know (B) (Experience a fusion accident)

Displaying Adaptability (B) (Switch Personas 5 times in 1 battle)

It’s Working Today (B) (Buy an item from the Capsule Machine)

Lucky Me! (B) (Win a prize from the vending machine)

Granter of Your Desires (B) (Buy 5 things from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities)

Seize the Moment (B) (Buy a special croquette from Sozai Daigaku)

Cooking With Gas (B) (Make 5 perfect boxed lunches)

An Acquired Taste (B) (Drink the coffee at Chagall Café)

Movie Buff (B) (Go to 3 movies at 30 Frame)

Bug Hunter (B) (Swing the net with perfect timing)

Special Fusion Expert (B) (Use 4 or more Personas in a special fusion)

Big Bro is Worried (B) (Visit Nanako in the hospital 3 times)

During this step try not to run from fights and play on Easy/Normal difficulty in order to get the Hardcore Risette Fan out of the way. Don't forget to analyse the enemies' stats often. Also don't forget to register skill cards, try to achieve the 'True Ending' and have a blast playing the best, IMO, Vita JRPG ever released.

Step #2 (30-40 Hours) – Complete the Main Story a Second Time:

Now that you have completed the main story it would be a good time to earn A New Quiz King. This can be done via the main menus by selecting 'TV LISTINGS', you just need to win the quiz event. After that you can start a new playthrough on any difficulty. The difficulty does not matter because you are now free to customise it in any way you prefer, such as Monster difficulty, XP/Cash Earned and action taken if you happen to die during a dungeon etc. If you're not interested in monster fighting anymore and have obtained the Hardcore Risette Fan trophy you might as well just put the difficulty on SAFETY and enjoy the story for another round without having to worry about the dungeon monsters/bosses.

These are the things you keep from your previous playthrough(s):

  • Daidara's stock
  • Costumes
  • Money
  • Compendium
  • Registered Skill Cards
  • No. of Persona slots
  • Max Social Link items (Required to fuse the Persona unlocked at Level 10 S-link)
  • Social Stats

Things you do not keep:

  • Items/equipment (except S-Link items)
  • Levels
  • Personas in your battle list
  • Book progress
  • Unlocked places (Okina City & Sea)
  • Fishing Rod & Bug Net

Complete this step whilst maxing all of the Social Links, getting the 100% Compendium completion as well as aiming to get to at least level 91 (in dungeons) in order to create the ultimate Persona i.e. Izanagi-no-Okami.

In this step aim to unlock:

Card Collector (B) (Register 100 Skill Cards)

Going Nova (B) (Deal over 999 damage in 1 attack)

Fill Your Hand (B) (Get 50 Sweep Bonuses)

Mr. Perfect (S) (Max out all social qualities)

Food Fighter (B) (Finish Aiya's special dish)

Moderate Bookkeeper (S) (Register over 50% of the Compendium)

Thorough Bookkeeper (G) (Complete the Persona Compendium)

Fishing Master (B) (Catch the Sea Guardian (Required for Hermit Social-Link as well))

Bond Maniac (B) (Max out 10 Social Links)

Compulsive Reader (B) (Read all books) *Has to be done in a single playthrough*

Legend of Inaba (S) (Max out all Social links) *Has to be done in a single playthrough*

A New Quiz King (B) (Win the Miracle Quiz Finals)

One Who Has Proven Their Power (G) (Defeat Margaret)

The Reaper Becomes the Reaped (S) (Defeat The Reaper)

The Power of Truth (S) (Create Izanagi-no-Okami)

Step #3 - Clean Up (If Necessary):

At this point you should have all the trophies and earned your (P) but in case you have missed something, start a new playthrough at any difficulty and refer to specific trophy descriptions.

Good luck and stay Golden!

Defeat Izanami

[spoiler=9]This is the True Ending, to achieve it you will have to make the following choices during 03/20, *Save at this point in case you mess up*:

  • Talk to the Social Links you have maxed, all of them.
  • Once you're done, you will be asked if you would like to head home, if you choose yes you will be taken to the normal ending so say No.
  • Head to June's and try to use the elevator. When asked to go home, say No.
  • Check the elevator and choose "I have some unfinished matters" and go to the Food Court when asked.
  • After the event that happens there go to the floodplain and talk to Dojima and Nanako.
  • Head to the Velvet room next. If you have maxed out the Empress Social Link, defeated all the optional bosses before this point and you're on your 2nd playthrough, you will also receive an item to challenge the secret and hardest boss, much like Persona 3. Please see One Who Has Proven Their Power for more info.
  • Exit the Velvet Room and talk to the Gas Station Attendant. Congratulations, the True Ending dungeon is now unlocked.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/05E.jpgFusion Expert (B)(H)

Perform 50 Persona fusions

Personas can be fused! That way you can create even more powerful Personas to aid you in battle. Personas tend to inherit certain skills and can be fused using Normal Spread and Triangle Spread fusion freely and Special Fusions (Cross Spread (4-way), Star Spread (5-way) and Hiranya Spread (6-way) available 7/10 onwards. For a fusion chart please see to HERE.

Just perform 50 fusions of any kind and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/5B9.jpgSpecial Fusion Expert (B)

use 4 or more Personas in a special fusion

Starting from 7/10 onwards Igor will invite you to the Velvet Room and provide some extra fusions that use 4, 5 and 6 Personas. Easiest to fuse would the [star] arcana 'Neko Shogun' requiring [Chariot] Ara Mitama + Kusi Mitama + Saki Mitama + Nigi Mitama. Just fuse once and the trophy will be yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/F36.jpg The Nose Doesn't Always Know (B)

Experience a fusion accident

Fusion accidents are random occurrences during fusion. Sometimes, completely randomly, Igor will become surprised and a different Persona of the same level to that of the one he originally intended to fuse will be made. If you are aiming specifically for this trophy I suggest saving outside the Velvet Room, buying Personas from the Compendium and just keep on fusing until you run out of money. If you're lucky you should get the trophy within 40 fusions or so. If not reload your save and repeat the process.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/7BC.jpg Persona Shopper (B)

Buy a Persona from the Compendium

The Persona Compendium is a service offered by Margaret. You can register a Persona with her then the Persona will be stored in the Compendium with its current stats. This can be brought back when needed without a limit. The price of Personas from the Compendium depends on their level, the higher the level the more expensive the Persona will be. Just buy a single Persona from the Compendium and the trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/447.jpg A Favor for Marie (B)

Register a Skill Card

See Card Collector.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/55A.jpg Card Collector (B)

Register 100 Skill Cards

Once Marie is introduced in the Velvet room she offers a number of services such as customising your 'Online ID', the words and avatar people see when you request help in the dungeon and the main function which is Skill Card Registering. You can attain skill cards from Shuffle Time in dungeons or by visiting the Chagall Café with a Persona equipped that has a skill card icon next to its skill. Once you receive a card you can go to Marie and she will register it (and remove it from your inventory), thus allowing you to re-purchase an infinite amount at any time. Skills from skill cards can be taught to any Persona.

This trophy actually takes up quite a bit of time and luck, thus I recommend collecting cards from the Personas at Chagall regularly as well as choosing skill cards during Shuffle Time. The cards carry over your playthroughs meaning if you fail to get this trophy during your second playthrough, as you're going to be on a really tight schedule if you’re wanting to max all Social Links, you will be forced to do a third.

Register 100 skill cards with Marie and this trophy is yours.

Switch Personas 5 times in 1 battle

Self-explanatory. Once you get a second Persona just switch Personas by choosing Persona on the menu and picking a different one during your turn on the action-wheel. Do this 5 times (5 turns) and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/034.jpgHardcore Risette Fan (B)

Hear 250 of Rise's navigation lines

This is, in my opinion, the hardest and most random trophy in the game. To achieve it you need to hear 250 different lines from Rise in one playthrough. This happens with many different occasions starting with entering a battle, dealing/getting damage and finishing with everything up to the player’s death.

There is not much to say here. Just keep on hitting the left :trigger: to analyse the enemies as every weakness/strength/null/absorb will have a different line, plus there are three different types of shadows (Below/Around/High to your level) which all count as different lines of analysis. If your level is too high all shadows will appear as weak and you will lose out on at least 40 different lines, maybe more, this is why I suggest playing on at least Easy/Normal.

Keep note that you get 4 different lines during the Final Boss fight (that's when mine popped), also you get two unique lines during Margaret's battle. Here is the full list of Rise's lines (in Japanese): Clicky

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/026.jpg Going Nova (B)

Deal over 999 damage in 1 attack

This is easily done towards the end of the game once your level is high enough. Just equip a powerful Persona, a strong weapon and go to one of the starting dungeons. Perform an all-out attack and you should deal well over 1000 damage. Another easy way is to find a weak Gold Hand and perform an all-out-attack on it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/2D0.jpg Skilled Commander (B)

Perform 50 All-Out Attacks

Self-explanatory. The whole enemy party must be in 'Down' state to perform an all-out-attack, this can be achieved by either landing a critical hit on them or exploiting their weakness. Once the whole enemy party is down just confirm the all-out-attack and watch the animation. Perform this 50 times and the trophy is yours.

Confirmation for an all-out-attack:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/CD6.jpg Tactical Fighter (B)

Exploit enemy weaknesses 100 times

To do this you will have to guess the enemy weakness e.g. if they are using fire they're likely to be weak to ice etc but later by levelling Rise's Social Link, her Persona will gain additional skills and starting at Rank 4 she will gain an ability that randomly reveals an enemy weakness.

This should come naturally whilst playing though as you will have to rely on exploiting their weaknesses.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/02D.jpgFill Your Hand (B)

Get 50 Sweep Bonuses

Sometimes after the battle you will get "Shuffle Time" which is basically like a bonus for finishing the fight clean/quick etc. You will be presented with series of cards and you're free to choose which one you want to take. Some of the cards will have certain effects (positive and negative) and the negative ones usually give extra picks. All you have to do is choose all of the cards available 50 times and the trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/489.jpg Grasping at Greed (B)

Defeat a Golden Hand

Golden Hands can be found randomly running around in dungeons. They always flee once noticed and tend to do status ailments in battle so they could escape (given that you actually have to catch them to start the battle). They give huge amounts of Exp and Money so always try to catch one once you see it. You should encounter many of these and getting this trophy should pose no problem.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/C9C.jpgOne Who Has Proven Their Power (G)(H)

Defeat Margaret

You need to be on your second playthrough to attempt this. This used to be the hardest battle in Persona 4 but not anymore as you can choose what skills Personas inherit during fusion, you can take your party members with you and set the difficulty to SAFETY. The only downside is that Margaret attacks twice during one turn now but the boss is still easy.

In order to access the boss you need to have maxed out Margaret's Social Link (Empress), be on a NG+, have all optional bosses slain and be on the last day of the game, 3/20. See here for how to max out the Social Link you find: Clicky

The easiest way would be to do this on your second playthrough. Fuse Izanagi-no-Okami, set the difficulty to the easiest one which will let you choose to respawn with full health in case you die and just keep on spamming the best skill possible. The fight should be a breeze, go into the Velvet room twice on 3/20, get geared up and go to Nanako dungeon's top floor called 'Heaven'. Below is a video of a person doing it solo on the highest difficulty, thanks to m1rasantika:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD21Yndgs8I]P4G: Margaret (Solo, Risky) - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/EE1.jpgThe Reaper Becomes the Reaped (S)(H)

Defeat The Reaper

The Reaper is known since Persona 3 except it's slightly different in P4 – you have to keep on opening chests for it to appear. It is said that he appears every 20 chests or so, once you hear chains chiming you should go and open a chest but don't proceed to the next floor. The Reaper is high-levelled, has two attacks during his turn and normally uses Mind charge+Dyne spell of a character's weakness so you should be prepared to fight him. He is most often encountered in Magatsu Inaba/Madala.

Defeating him once will net you the trophy. Also, once you defeat the Reaper, you will gain an 'ultimate weapon' which has the best stats in the game. Every subsequent time you defeat the Reaper another party member will gain an ultimate weapon. If all party members (in the battle) already have ultimate items, the Reaper will drop an Omnipotence Orb which blocks all attacks except almighty so it's something to keep in mind if you want to go hunting for the Reaper.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/8A6.jpg Food Fighter (B)

Finish Aiya's special dish

Aiya's Restaurant can be found at the start of Shopping District North and the special dish is only served on Rainy days. You need to have MAX (Lv 5) Understanding, Knowledge, Courage and Diligence in order to tackle this dish. Once you have the required parameters, drop in and buy the dish, MC will automatically finish it you will unlock the trophy. If you need any help getting those parameter levels please refer to Mr. Perfect.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/4D5.jpg Compulsive Reader (B)

Read all books

There are more books in P4:G than there were in the original PS2 classic but they are not hard to obtain. All you have to do is check the book store monthly, buy the books there and complete the requests for the guy next to the book store. Doing this will provide you with the rest of the books. The original book list is here:

http://i.imgur.com/80QfpNf.png

Quest #8: Shopping District South, Guy looking at the book store, available from 5/23 onwards – You need to give him a Peach Seed, it can be found in any dungeon in a chest or bought from the gardening lady outside your house/June's entrance.

Quest #14: Shopping District South, Guy looking at the book store, available from 6/7 onwards – Obtain a Reflecting Board from Crying Table (Steamy Bath House, 9-10/F).

Quest #22: Shopping District South, Guy looking at the book store, available from 7/3 onwards – Obtain 10 thick hide from Dancing Hand (Steamy Bath House, 5-8/F), have them processed at Daidara, then buy one to trade with the man.

Quest #27: Shopping District South, Guy looking at the book store, available from 8/9 onwards – Obtain 3 Fashionable Dishes from Sky Balance (Marukyu Striptease, 9-10/F).

Quest #34: Shopping District South, Guy looking at the book store, available from 9/26 onwards – Reply "Judo medallists' names", "How one should live as a punk", "2 pages per pest", "Me".

After reading all of the books you should obtain the trophy. This has to be done in one playthrough. Note: The quest numbers are taken from the original PS2 game, they are different for P4:G hence their description in the guide.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/742.jpgIt's Working Today (B)

Buy an item from the Capsule Machine

The Capsule Machine can be found in front of the Drug Store at the end of Shopping District South. It needs to be raining and for a small amount of money you can get a rare item but time will pass. This will not work if it isn't raining as the Machine will simply not work because the dial will be stuck.

Win a prize from the vending machine

This is a luck-based trophy. In the Shopping District North, by the liqueur store, there are vending machines. • 05/31 – Use soy sauce instead

Enter a special relationship with someone

When progressing in a female Social Link, at certain ranks (different for different s-links) you will have to make a choice that will either keep you as friends or make you lovers. For example: At Rank 7, Lovers arcana (Rise) you have a choice of either 'Hug her' or 'Look at her', choosing to hug her will result in a relationship being started. You can be in more than 1 lovers' relationship.

The Other Self (B)

Obtain the Persona Izanagi

This is an easy trophy that will come naturally during your first dungeon. It should pop right after you obtain your first Persona, Izanagi.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/2D4.jpg The Power of Truth (B)(H)

Create Izanagi-no-Okami

This trophy requires you to be on your second playthrough and have seen the True Ending on the previous playthrough. Izanagi-no-Okami is a powerful Persona requiring you to be at least level 91 in order to create it and has a skill card for the skill 'Victory Cry', which costs 500,000 to rebuy once registered. The Persona resists all elemental attacks and Victory Cry restores all HP and SP after a successful battle thus making it a really powerful Persona.

To create it you need to fuse 12 different Personas:

Fool Izanagi x Strength Sandman x Chariot Nata Taishi x Moon Girimehkala x Fortune Norn x Emperor Okuninushi x Hangedman Orthrus x Star Kartikeya x Temperance Mithra x Priestess Tzitzimitl x Tower Cu Chulain x Fool Legion.

For fusion recipes please refer to Thorough Bookkeeper.

See Thorough Bookkeeper.

Complete the Persona Compendium

This might be the most time-consuming trophy within the game, it requires you to create nearly 100 Personas, is a money sink and can be a real pain if you do not have the fusion recipes but luckily we do! The people at Persona4.wikidot have compiled a list on how to fuse every single Persona, so click HERE and start fusing in case you're out of ideas by yourself. I recommend you play around by yourself as starting the grind from the beginning can get really tedious towards the end. There are also 'motivational' gifts from Margaret every 25% of the Compendium completed which will reduce the price of Personas if you choose to buy them (believe me, you will be buying them).

Once you have completed the Compendium to 100% the trophy will pop automatically.

Fight a battle in costume

You obtain costumes simply by playing through the story, obtaining certain trophies or simply by buying them from the 'Co-Furs' store in the new town you can go to using your scooter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/30C.jpg Head of the Class (B)

Rank #1 in your class on an exam

You need to rank #1 in a class exam once. This will net you a present from Nanako and Dojima as well as S-Link points for all of your schoolmates.

The answers for April's exams are as follows (You will need knowledge level of at least 'Professor'):

  • 5/7: "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
  • 5/9: "Overcompensation"
  • 5/9: "1 B.C."
  • 5/10: "Marriage numbers"
  • 5/10: "Soseki Natsume"
  • 5/11: "Pythagoras"
  • 5/11: "Olympus Mons"

At the time of writing this the English version wasn't out thus the answers were unknown, they are usually different between the JP and US versions. A good but painful way to get the answers correct is to save just before the exams and keep on guessing and reloading. If the answer is correct you will have a Note pop-up above your head, that means you've picked the correct answer. Once the exam results are published you will get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/B51.jpg Fishing Master (B)

Catch the Sea Guardian

This should be done on your second playthrough as it is a requirement for Legend of Inaba as well. Found by the Sea you can reach it after the June 8th once you've obtained your scooter. There will be two options to go to different places which will take up time. Ride the scooter to one of the places 3 times and you should unlock the city or the Sea. On June 4th you can talk to the boy in the shrine and buy him the food/drink he requests, if you successfully fulfil his wish he will give you a bug. You can exchange the bug for a fish hook (refer to picture below) at the Bar at the end of Shopping District South. Once the fishing hook is obtained you should go to the floodplains during the day and talk to the old man there, he will give you a fishing rod.

Now that you've got the fishing rod it's time to start getting those Hermit Social Link ranks up, as the requirement for level 10 is to catch a sea guardian.

You can find the requests HERE.

The quest numbers will be different as P4:G has got more quests but you can always search quest by the requirements, e.g. the rank 7 quest requires you to have Hermit rank 6 thus you should search "Hermit Rk 6" etc.

Before catching the Sea Guardian you should catch the River Guardian (on "Rainy" weather), in the Floodplain using the "Inaba Celadon" bug as bait (appears more often during the night) and show the fish to the old man. Once you've done so, you should have unlocked the Sea via the town map by riding the scooter far distances for three times. Once there attempt to fish and you will be prompted that you do not have the knowledge, thus you should talk to the old man about fishing in the Sea and he should give you an improved fishing rod.

Make sure the weather condition is 'Rainy' (or 'Snowy' if you're in January already) and get the required bug. Genji Kabuto can only be found during the night or when digging for bugs (you will not be able to find it if you have not obtained the Sea Fishing Rod). Go to the Sea and attempt to fish, you should look for water ripples 'bursting-upwards', then you will know you've got the correct fish. Once you catch it the trophy is yours, congratulations!

See Legend of Inaba.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/9FD.jpg Legend of Inaba (S)

Max out all Social Links

This trophy requires quite a lot of planning and must be done on a single playthrough. You should always remember that you gain more 'social points' by having a Persona of the corresponding arcana in your inventory, I also suggest doing this on your second playthrough as certain answers require certain Social Status, e.g. Max Courage and you should have those maxed by the end of your first playthrough.

All the rank-up events are the same as they were in Persona 4 with the exception of two new Social Links which have to be maxed as well. One of them is very date-sensitive thus I suggest you always give priority to that Social Link (Adachi's) and leave the other one for whenever you see fit. Just remember you have to max out all of the non-party Social Links before the end of December, because most of them will not be accessible. Party members can still be Ranked-up during December/January so you shouldn't worry too much about those.

A strict schedule can be found HERE - Special thanks to Yangxu from GameFAQs.com.

Rank up events with conversations for individual Social Links can be found HERE

Adachi Availability:

  • May: 13 (F), 20 (F), 23 (M), 27 (F), 30 (M)
  • June: 5 (Sun), 10 (F), 11 (Sat), 15 (W, Night only), 26 (Sun), 28 (Tue)
  • July: 2 (Sat), 4 (M), 5 (Tue), 12 (Tue), 14 (Thu), 24 (Sun), 25 (M)
  • August: 25 (Thu)
  • September: 1 (Sat), 19 (M), 20 (Tue), 21 (W), 23 (F), 24 (Sat), 27 (Tue), 30 (F)
  • October: 6 (Thu), 12 (W), 21 (F), 24 (M), 26 (W)
  • November: 1 (Tue)

Also remember that you can only achieve Rank 6 with Adachi's Social Link, the other ranks will auto rank-up during the further course of the story. Don't forget to go see Adachi alone in the TV world once his dungeon is open and you get the choice during an evening.

Drink the coffee at Chagall Cafe

Found in Okina City. You can reach it after June 8th once you've obtained your scooter. There will be two options to go to different places which will take up time. Ride the scooter to one of the places 3 times and you should unlock the city or the Sea. The Chagall Café is the building furthest to the left, you can drink coffee by paying 5,000 and a skill card will be retrieved from your Persona. Go there once and the trophy will unlock. For more on skill cards see Card Collector.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/D88.jpg Movie Buff (B)

Go to 3 movies at 30 Frame

This place is found in Okina City, you can reach it after the 8th of June once you've obtained your scooter. There will be two options to go to different places which will take up time. Ride the scooter to one of the places 3 times and you should unlock the city or the Sea. The Cinema is just where you get off and is called '30 Frame' (refer to the picture below). You can call your party members once a month (once for each of them) to instantly level up their Personas. If you do not wish to actually go to the movies you can always save and just get the trophy and reload your save game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/EF6.jpg Bug Hunter (B)

Swing the net with perfect timing

This can be obtained only after June 9th (6/9). Bug catching is a new addition to Persona 4: Golden and different bugs are required to catch different types of fish, there’s no more fishing bait. In order to start bug catching you need to obtain a red goldfish, which can be bought from Tanaka's Show on Sundays and offer it to the Shrine Maiden at night, after 6/9. She will give you a bug net. After receiving a bug net you can start catching bugs daily in the shrine, just by the entrance, by clicking on the trees. What you have to do to gain this trophy is press the catch button as quickly as possible once the '!' appears. If successful you will get a bigger batch of bugs and the trophy.

Enter a battle with Player Advantage

A trophy that will definitely come naturally during your playthrough, all you have to do is attack a shadow from behind whilst it's not aware of you and the trophy will be yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/E74.jpg Big Bro is Worried (B)(H)

Visit Nanako in the hospital 3 times

[spoiler=Hospital]This can be done from 11/22, when Nanako is in the hospital you can talk to party members to go visit her. This will increase the affinity with your team members. Here are the first three dates when you can visit Nanako:

  • 11/22 – Yosuke in the classroom
  • 11/23 – Chie in Shopping District North
  • 11/24 – Rise on 1/F teaching building

If you wish to do something else during those days you can always save, make the visits, get the trophy and reload your save game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1790/B5B.jpg A New Quiz King (B)

Win the Miracle Quiz Finals

This is available via the 'TV LISTINGS' menu from the main screen, it is on ch. 3 (refer to pictures below). All you have to do is finish the quiz with the highest points, which can be slightly tricky as some of the party members answer with incredible speed if the question is relevant to them. Just try your best to push the buzzer quickly and test your Persona knowledge by answering correctly. The questions are always random so it's down to your knowledge for now.

Great Guide Tii, its looking pretty awesome right now :)

I'm currently 74 hours into the game and are about to finish my 1st playthrough, but there are few things I'm not sure and would want to clarify .....

1) Does the records of Skill Cards get reset after moving onto the next playthrough?

e.g. If I gave the Skill Card of Ziodyne to Marie on my 1st playthrough, do I have to re-acquire the card through Shuffle Time / Drinking Coffee and give it to Marie again on the 2nd playthough if I want to buy the card?

2) Does the benefits of reading books get carried over just like Social Parameters? Some books I've read doesn't directly increase the Social Parameter, but instead will reinforce the effect of improving Social Parameters while doing certain activities / Part-Time Jobs, other books can makes fishing easier, allows you to catch more bugs, and even allows you to read 2 chapters of a book in one night. These are the type of "benefits" I'm talking about, so do they carry over to next playthroughs?

3) I've encountered the Reaper on my 1st playthrough, during a 2nd trip to the Steamy Bathhouse after rescuing Kanji, and at that time I didn't know what was inside the treasure box, opened it and the Reaper wiped out my entire party in one attack. I've also came across the chance of fighting the Reaper again several times in other dungeons but never opened it, obviously because I want to level up my character until I'm strong enough to face him.

After reading your trophy description I'm getting a little confused, you said:

You need to be on your second playthrough to encounter this enemy/boss. The reaper is known since Persona 3 except it’s slightly different in P4 – it does not appear after staying in a dungeon too long to try and catch you but you can find him in ordinary chests. It is said that he appears every 20 chests or so, so once you hair chains chiming you should go and open a chest and not proceed to the next floor. The Reaper is high-levelled, has two attacks during his turn and normally uses mind charge + dyne spell of a character’s weakness so you should be prepared to fight him. He is most often encountered in Magatsu Inaba/Mandala so if you’re hunting the Reaper – you should go there.

Red: Reason of confusion, I've gone into battle with the Reaper during my 1st playthrough (although terribly un-prepared and got killed by it), therefore when I read about the requirement of 2nd playthrough, I cannot help but wonder, could this be a difference between the original Japanese version and the version I'm playing (I'm actually playing the traditional Chinese version, though on PSN online the trophy list is being categorized as the Korean version)

Blue: Simply a typing mistake, should be HEAR instead of HAIR, right?

Hope to hear from you and Thanks in advance!

1) Skill card records remain. If you register a persona after teaching it a skill - it also remains :) I have noted it by the Card Collector description but it was an oversight not to include it in the actual Road Map .

2) Unfortunately - no. All progress regarding books is reset.

I've added those two points to the guide ;)

how you can get hardcore risette fan on your first playtrough? risette comment when you fight margaret dosen't count?

Don't think you can fight Margaret on your first playthrough. But it's only two lines from her that you'll miss. Also, the final battle will net you at least 4 lines when you get sucked-in. Would provide more details on those lines but trying to keep it more spoiler-free ;)

i know i can't fight her in the first playthrough played the original on the PS2. (big SMT and atlus fan :)) when you fight margaret risette say two navigation lines. so lets say i hear 248 lines from my first playthrough, i need only to fight margaret in my second playthrough to get this trophy? becuase you can't hear all risette navigation lines in the first walkthrough because of that.

so basically you can't hear al navigation lines on first wlakthrough no matter what.

or there is more then 250 navigation lines risette say and you need to hear only 250 of them?

Thank you for the guide! Since this is my first introduction to Persona, I want to play my first run blind, which will likely mean many missed trophies. About how long would you say the game is per run?

Taking into account that youre new to persona and keen on jrpgs, the first playthrough can last you up to 60 hours. A speed run can be done in 20-25:)

Hey, nice job on this guide. It's gonna help me greatly, once I get the game.

One question: What do you mean by SAFETY difficulty?

Another, maybe stupid question but does it really matter which difficulty you play on? Because I kinda want to plan on playing on a lower difficulty than normal since I noticed that there aren't difficulty related trophies.

Safety is the Japanese way of saying 'Very Easy', at least in this case.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/1503/20121117133131.jpg

I've added a little description in the Road Map about the difficulties, have a read :)

And no, it doesn't matter which difficulty you play on but you will have a hard time obtaining the Rise Navi trophy if you choose Safety as you will get too high-leveled too quickly and will miss out on a big part of the lines.
