RSJohn7293
Hey, I've just finally decided to connect my DS4 controller to my computer (Click http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/how-to-connect-a-ps4-controller-to-pc/ for a guide if you don't know how) but I was wondering what the best setup for controls are or what you use? Obviously the left stick moves the cursor, and X is for enter (Or left mouse click? Which would be best?), but I'm not sure the rest. http://puu.sh/bhFcJ.png
mjc0961
If it has 360 controller inputs (and it does based on the Y, X, RT, Start, and Back buttons), just map it up the same way a 360 controller would be. Modern PC games these days will automatically detect a controller and give you 360 button prompts, so just map it up that way to make it easy. RSJohn7293
I've never connected a xbox controller or playstation controller before. So idk how it works.
AlphaCookie
I'm not familiar with that particular DS4 Tool, but what mjc said is right, just mimic the 360 controller layout for all your commands, as the majority of games with controller support will use 360 prompts So you just copy them over. It looks like the prompts on your picture are for using the controller for actually controlling your desktop. Which is completely silly. Or after a second look, it's using default FPS commands for the mouse buttons. You should only worry about mapping it for gameplay either way. The best way to do that is if you have a game on both console and PC that you can reference. If you don't, you might have to just play around a bit. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ih-c4lfVL._SY300_.jpg http://wiki.xbmc.org/images/3/36/XBox360WirelessController.jpg Another question that might solve all your problems: In that automatic profile section, is there a 360 controller setting? Use that. Edited September 2, 2014 by AlphaCookie
c1ned1ne
Ooh, the layout in the screenshot won't give you much pleasure in any game. Look for a layout called 360 or Xinput which is the default scheme on modern games since the original XBox. If you plan on using it on the desktop - don't mouse is always quicker than fine adjust with the sticks. If it is even possible A very handy tool I found is http://SCP PS driver, it will act as a normal gamepad driver, auto recognizes your DualShock and works right out of the box without the need of fiddling with different layouts, loading an extra program and other bullshit MotionInJoy and similar tools come up with. Just a clean, slick wrapper.
