Introduction:

Papo & Yo is an interesting platformer/puzzle game that sends you on a quest to free Quico from his demons, by interacting with Monster (a representation of the abuse suffered from an alcoholic and violent father), Lula (a toy robot come to life) and an imaginary world were he finds shelter from real life.

Step 1: Complete the game

You should enjoy your fist time with Papo & Yo, in order to appreciate the underlying message and the journey of Quico. This will unlock all story related trophies, and will allow you to collect the hats during your second playthrough. You can also use the guide to find how to unlock the Architect trophy, and you can either skip hint boxes during your first run, or skip them during your second one.

You will get the following trophies from this step: Lula Power, Calm After The Storm, Good as New, Conclusion.

Step 2: Collecting the hats

You will now be able to replay the game and collect the hats that are found over the small voodoo-like dolls tied up to a stick which you will have run into during your first run. This will get you the Mad Hatter trophy. Make sure to not use any of the hint boxes so you can also unlock Don't Need No Hints if you used any hint boxes in your first run.

Step 3: Clean Up

Here you will go for Architect, Sharp Shooter, Playing Tag, and White Frog Massacre, if you are still missing them.

Trophy Guide

Build and cross the houses bridge with only 3 houses.

http://i46.tinypic.com/2ildmxh.jpg

When you get to this puzzle, you must place only 3 blocks AND 3 blocks only over the water in order to get to the other side. Placing them inside the square marks on the floor will not allow you to complete this puzzle, so just do as the picture says, and place the houses diagonally so you can jump from one corner to the next. You need to run for a head start, and you have to jump on top of the boxes to be high enough. You can also jump on top of the concrete in the fence to make a second jump on top of the first house.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/3DA.jpg Conclusion (G)

Finish the game.

Story related. Can't be missed. Just complete the game and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/C25.jpg Don't Need No Hints (B)

Play through the game without reading any hint boxes.

Simple as it says. If you've played platformers and puzzle games before, then hint boxes aren't really needed. These boxes are ALL opened up boxes you find. They don't need to have a question mark, so don't be tricked into clicking on the one with a drawing of Lula, or a drawing or fruit.. or any drawing. Skip all boxes, and you're set. You can do this either on your first or your second run, so it is really up to you.

Collect all hats.

Hats can only be obtained after you complete the game once, and you must replay it to find them. Did you notice the voodoo-like dolls in the game? Well, they now have hats! Find them all, and the trophy will unlock. Here is a video showing you were to find every single hat, so you can quickly get the trophy during your second run:

Thanks to TheDisturbedG1 for this great video guide!

Here is a small list of examples of some of the hats you'll find in the game for quick reference:

If you fall into the water during the puzzle were you get the Architect trophy for using only 3 houses, you'll get a fish hat.

Forebearing Shadows: to the left of the cage behind the big pipe.

Cozy Digs: Near the beginning, jump on one of the first buildings and jump down to the roof below.

Deception: Climp up the white ladder and jump to the right side towards the red pipe.

Relax, Why Don't You: at the end of the centipede trail, use monster to jump to the hidden left side.

Euclid is Wrong: Near the monster statue to the top right in the grass.

Bend them to your will: You'll need every single building in your house tower to get it. It's off to the right on a floating white brick with grass on top. It's the lime skin helmet.

Anger Management: Two hats in here. The first one is way in the back left corner. It's the paper bag hat. The second is at the very end of the section after you get Lula back. As you jump from block to block, the pan hat is on a roof to the left.

White Mountain: Right next to where you grab the key.

Over The Inferno: it is on the last platform in the air near the centipede.

Thanks to Rising and Arkafazin for their help!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/CE3.jpg White Frog Massacre (B)

Splat 21 frogs at once in the main menu.

WARNING: You must either do this before starting your first run, or after you've completed the game once. If you press :cross: while over Start New Game, your save file will be overwritten by the one from the New Game, and you'll lose all your progress. Just in case, be sure to backup your safe before doing this.

On the main menu, rapidly move the left stick  and ,scrolling between the options presented (Start New Game, Select Checkpoint, Continue Game, Credits). Each time you move to a new option a frog begins to jump across the screen. Do it fast enough and the screen will fill with frogs. Press :cross: on any option and all the frogs currently on the screen will splat. Just flick the stick up and down a bunch, jam on :cross:, and say a little prayer that there were enough frogs onscreen. You'll get it eventually, I believe in you.

Thanks to Duke_of_Plaid for this tip!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/460.jpg Lula Power (B)

Double-jump with Lula to cross the first large gap.

Story related. Can't be missed. When Lula joins you for the first time, you're required to use your new double jump ability to cross a gap. Do so, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/EA4.jpg Playing Tag (B)

Run away from Lula for 20 seconds.

http://i47.tinypic.com/219coqq.jpg

When you get to this spot, use :triangle: to throw Lula at the switch and immediately turn around and drop to the floor and run away. In a second Lula will be behind you trying to grab onto your back. Keep running in circles without Lula grabbing on to you until the trophy pops.

This can be done at other spots in the game by pressing :circle: to throw Lula, as long as you can quickly run around in circles without Lula grabbing you again, but I found this huge open area easier, thanks to the long throw to the switch.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/342.jpg Sharp Splatter (B)

Splat a frog right on the bullseye.

You'll have to enter a pipe for story-progression purposes, and said pipe has lots of frogs an a bullseye painted on the wall. Simply grab a frog and walk to the bullseye, and hit circle to smash the frog into the bullseye.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/FD4.jpg Calm After the Storm (B)

Give Monster a rotten fruit.

After Monster eats the first poison frog it can, you must trick him into standing on a marked square patch of ground to power some wind-up switch keys. After activating a switch, you must touch the glowing cubes that appear to form a bridge to a platform in the sky. Do this for all 3 wind-up switches and you'll reach the poison fruit. Drop it so monster eats it, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1666/516.jpg Good as New (B)

Revive Lula.

Story related. Can't be missed. Lula will be damaged by monster, and you'll be tasked with taking your your robot to

@sweett310: For someone reason that didn't work for me as by the time Quico started to run Lula was on his back again. Throwing with Circle brought me to a halt every time, which is why I suggested the solution in the guide.

Thanks!

Press circle, and immediately run in the opposite direction. Once you have started your run just run in circles for 20 seconds. There should be no halt when you throw Lula.

2-1?: Forebearing Shadows: to the left of the cage behind the big pipe.

2-2?:Cozy Digs: Near the beginning, jump on one of the first buildings and jump down to the roof below.

2-3?: Deception: Climb up the white ladder and jump to the right side towards the red pipe.

3-3: Relax, Why Don't You: at the end of the centipede trail, use monster to jump to the hidden left side.

3-7?: Euclid is Wrong: Near the monster statue to the top right in the grass.

2-6: Bend them to your will: You'll need every single building in your house tower to get it. It's off to the right on a floating white brick with grass on top. It's the lime skin helmet.

4-4 & 5-4: Anger Management: Two hats in here. The first one is way in the back left corner. It's the paper bag hat. The second is at the very end of the section after you get Lula back. As you jump from block to block, the pan hat is on a roof to the left.

3-1: White Mountain: Right next to where you grab the key.

3-5: Over The Inferno: it is on the last platform in the air near the centipede.

If anyone else can please confirm the question marks. Thanks.

Edit: I see another working trophy guide with more detailed hint descriptions. That will be more suited for a proper hats location guide.

2-1: I'm not sure if I got that one.

2-2: I can confirm, but the description is a little off. You need to go on the third roof top and run back to the first working your way down to the roof directly below the first house.

2-3: I can confirm, but it's the second white latter. You turn around where you climb up the latter and jump over to the other side. Run all the way to the pipe, and search along that area.

3-7: I can confirm, and it's exactly where the description says.

for the 2-2 hat, can someone please be a little more descriptive as to which house they're referring to? is it after you've jumped on monster's belly or before? i mean, there are a *lot* of houses "near the beginning" of cozy digs...

You need to jump onto the 7th house, it's the one with two tires ontop of each other.
