Roadmap

Introduction

It's another installment of the all-time classic game Pac-Man! In this version of the game, it includes variations and skill/puzzle based challenges in addition to its original game. Spanning across a variety of different board setups, this will challenge even the most hardcore of Pac-Man enthusiasts! The main modes that you will be playing for the trophies are Time Trial & Score Attack. Time Trial mode is exactly what it sounds like and will send you on a hunt to pick up a certain amount of fruit before the time runs out. While this sounds simple enough, you will first have to clear pellets from portions of the stage to make the fruit appear, all while being chased by ghosts. The Score Attack mode is similar to the Time Trial one, but you have a set time limit in which to get as many points as you can. Most of the trophies in the game are very easy and will pop without much effort. The main ones that will give you a problem are the high score ones and possibly some of the time trial stages.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Play First Game Of Score Attack Mode

Start out by playing a game of Score Attack (5-Minute) on the stage Championship II (only one available right now). While playing this round, aim for the following things:

  • Do not die (No Mistakes)
  • Do not use a bomb (No Bombs)
  • Try to score over 1,000,000 points (500,000 Points & 1,000,000 Points)
  • Get a 30 ghost combo (30 Ghost Combo)
  • Eat enough pac-dots pellets to make them worth over 100 points each (100 Point Pac-Dots)
  • Make a spark for longer than 1 second (Sparkster)

Once you complete the first round by making it all the way until the time expires, you will get Score Attack (5 Minutes).

Step 2: Finish The Remaining Score Attack Challenges For Every Level

Play through all of the remaining Score Attack challenges (both 5-minute & 10-minute ones) for each level. If you missed any of the goals in the first step, aim for them now. The additional thing you will want to aim for as well will be to get over 2,000,000 points in the 10-minute challenges (1,500,000 Points & 2,000,000 Points). Once you finish them all, you will get Score Attack (10 Minutes) & Score Attack Completed.

Step 3: Play Through All The Time Trials

This will be a minor grind since there are a total of 88 "Short" & 16 "Time Trial" ones throughout all the levels. While playing through these, make sure that you select a different visual (selectable at the menu screen) for each one so that you can get All Maze Visuals. Once you complete all of the time trials you will get Time Trial Cleared & Time Trial Completed.

Step 4: Clean-Up

If you are missing any trophies at this point, just go back to the required mode and clean them up at this time!

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/01.jpg Sparkster http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

Emit sparks for 1 second!

To create a spark, just go along a long straight section of the stage and press up/down/left/right on to it (depending on where the wall is in relation to Pac-Man). If done right, it will show a spark behind him and he will turn in the direction at the next path opening. Easiest spot is in Championship II in one of the 2 side teleport paths. Just make sure you make a spark for more than 1 second and the trophy will pop after the game ends!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/02.jpg 100 Point Pac-Dots http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

Play until the value of a single Pac-Dot exceeds 100 points without losing a single life.

This should come just by playing the game. The easiest way to do this would be in "Free Play" of any of the stages. Just pick one and go mainly after the small pellets (Pac-Dots), eating the big ones so you can eat and get rid of the ghosts nearby. Once you get them to be worth over 100 points each, then the just finish the game out and the trophy will pop right after!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/03.jpg 30 Ghosts Combo http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

Eat 30 ghosts in succession!

You need to eat 30 ghosts in a row (not total) for this one. Easiest way to do this is that you must get a stream of 30 ghosts behind you, eat a pellet and then take them all out. Get the pellets from around the stage so it "evolves" giving you a new set of ones, but make sure you pass by all the ghosts as well. Once you get 30 behind you, lead them to the power pellet, eat it and then take out the entire row of them in one combo. The trophy will pop after the stage is complete!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/04.jpg Score Attack (5 minutes) http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

Play Score Attack (5 Minutes) until the very end!

Easiest way/stage to do it is on Championship II. When the round starts, immediately go to one of the side paths (that teleport you from one side to the other) and just kind of move back and forth to stay there. When the ghost finally appears and gets close to your spot, just teleport to the other side and move back and forth there as well until he gets close to you again, then teleport back. Keep rinsing and repeating until the time runs out. The trophy will pop after the game ends.

Beat the game with every maze visual.

There are 8 "visuals" (A-H) in the game & you must play a game with each type of visual. Easiest way to do this is to select a Time Trial (Short) and start with Visual A. Complete the trial and then restart it with Visual B. Keep repeating the cycle for the remaining visuals. If you do them in order, the trophy will pop after you finish the trial using Visual H.

This can be difficult if you're not familiar with the game and could take you a few attempts. Select a stage that you feel comfortable with and have a good idea of the layout/locations of things. The main things you want to aim for is clearing the dots as fast as possible, getting the bonus fruits and eating ghosts. Eating ghosts will give you the most points, plus it will help raise the "Game Speed" making you (and the ghosts) move faster, giving you the ability to get points quicker. Also, try to get a large group of ghosts together so you can combo them for an even higher amount of points from them. Once you finish a game with over 1,000,000 points, the trophy will pop!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/14.jpg Time Trial Completed (S)

Finish every course's Time Trial!

Each of the stages has a set number of Time Trials (A few Short ones & one Long one) you must complete. The "Time Trial" is a longer version of the short ones (and usually includes a lot of those in them) and has a higher number of apples to get collected to finish it. Best advice I can give you is to watch the patterns of the small pellets and the locations of the ghosts as these normally will give you a good idea of what patterns to run in order to give yourself the best time possible on them. Also, do not be afraid to use your bombs if you need to in order to avoid dying at first. If you run out of bombs, don't worry because they will be replenished if you do end up dying (just make sure you don't run out of lives before you finish). Here is a list of stages and how many Time Trials:

Championship II: 10 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Highway: 9 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Junction: 12 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Spiral: 9 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Manhatten: 10 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Dungeon: 8 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Championship I: 9 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Half: 21 Short Ones & 1 Time Trial

Dark: 8 Time Trials

Just keep practicing them and once you complete all of them, the trophy will pop after that!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/817/15.jpg Score Attack Completed http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.png

Finish every course's Score Attack!

You need to finish both the 5-minute & 10-minute Score Attack! challenges on all 8 boards. You do not need to get a set score in them, just stay make it until the clock hits 0:00. Your main goal is to avoid being spotted by a ghost as long as possible as once they do, they start chasing you and call another ghost to appear as well, making things a little more difficult to avoid then. Here are some tips on how to survive each of the stages easily (These are not methods to get high scores!):

Championship II: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the side paths (that teleport you from one side to the other) and just kind of move back and forth to stay there. When the ghost finally appears and gets close to your spot, just teleport to the other side and move back and forth there as well until he gets close to you again over there, then teleport back. Keep rinsing and repeating until the time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Highway: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the bottom corners of the screen. When the ghost finally appears, start doing a circular pattern around the outside of the course by going through one of the lower teleport paths, then immediately heading towards the top/bottom of the screen (opposite where you are) and then go through that top teleport path to get to the other side of the screen again. Keep circling until the time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Junction: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the middle teleport paths on the left/right side of the screen and go through so you stop on the block on the other side. Sit there until the ghost appears then when he gets close to you, teleport back to the other side and stop yourself on the block there. Keep teleporting back and forth until time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Spiral: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the middle teleport paths on the left/right side of the screen and go through so you stop on the wall on the other side. Sit there until the ghost appears then when he gets close to you, teleport back to the other side and stop yourself on the wall there. Keep teleporting back and forth until time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Manhatten: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the middle teleport paths on the left/right side of the screen and go through so you stop on the wall on the other side. Sit there until the ghost appears then when he gets close to you, teleport back to the other side and stop yourself on the wall there. Keep teleporting back and forth until time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Dungeon: When the round starts, go to the bottom of the screen down on of the two teleporting paths and hang out around there. Once the ghost appears, start going in a circle around the walls at the top/bottom of the screen using the teleporting paths on either side. Keep looping around those 2 areas until the time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Championship I: When the round starts, immediately go to one of the middle teleport paths on the left/right side of the screen and go through so you stop on the wall on the other side. Sit there until the ghost appears then when he gets close to you, teleport back to the other side and stop yourself on the wall there. Keep teleporting back and forth until time runs out. Use a bomb if needed to clear away any ghosts that are about to hit you.

Once you complete them all, the trophy will pop after the last one!

I can't imagine it actually takes that long. You need to spend 15 minutes on each stage to get the Score Attack stuff done. The Time Attack rounds usually end pretty quickly. I think each stage only has one real, long time attack in which they give you something like 10 minutes to work with but they tend to back less than four. And then Darkness has some.

8-10 hours seems crazy to me.

8-10 hours is based off the "estimated" times pre-set in the game for the time trials and on the score attacks. Can it take less than that? Yes it can, which is why it says depending on skill next to it. There were stages I beat in 20 seconds and others that I squeeked out with only 3-5 seconds left. Not everyone will be able to blow through the stages and beat them in half the time or less.

Dude what is your problem. If you think you can make a better guide then you should do so. OnceFallen has made many guides for this site and has yet to dissapoint. You should move on and stop being a troll. Not everybody is going to be as good as you at games in general. Average times for completing games is not suppose to be based on how fast you should be able to blow through a game , but based on how long it might take even the most casual gamer to complete it to 100%.

Even though this game is very simple , this is a great guide. Thanks for all the effort Oncefallen.:)

Chauncy pretty much directly addressed the trophy completion time posted and so I answered his concerns. I wasn't trying to "attack" the guide or the person doing it. If you want to accuse me of trolling then I accuse you of sucking up to the Mod.

When I post "Your guide sucks, I can do better!" then I'll accept your criticism. As it turns out, I edit a lot of writing and thought the Score Attack section would benefit from some trimming. The world won't end either way. Calm yourself, seriously.

I must say that comment didn't appear to be an author bashing comment to me.

It appeared to be aimed at chauncy (or whatever the name was)

I reckon if a comment should not be made about a guide, then maybe sticky the guide, then close the thread? Then no one can comment.

I reckon I did it 100% in about 4 hours. Might have been less, may have been longer, But I went to bed, went to work, played a little in between and it was all over far too quickly. Time flies when you are having fun!

Hey man , I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for the comment I made. Please accept my apology. I'm not really that kind of person on this site or any site for that matter. I'm a 37 year old adult and I should act like it , so I'm sorry. After reading your post I realized you weren't attacking the guide poster and I just mis-understood your post. I would rather have you as a friend on this site than and enemy.

Once again I'm Truley Sorry. :o

For the time trials does this include the eating of the ghosts? I can't seem to beat the high score of 30 it keeps telling me I failed??

The Ghost ones aren't part of the time trials that are required for the trophy, just the ones labeled Time Trial (Short) & the Time Trial for it as well.

For the "No Bombs" trophy...

You just have to use no bombs during your session. You can die all you want. I got the trophy despite dying.

Of course, if you want to make a YouTube video to impress teenage boys where you use no bombs and do it without dying, you can still do that.

Oncefallen. Great Guide and having fun with the game. The 2 million points is a pain. Got it now though.

Time Trial Cleared trophy I got it before completing the 8th time trail in Championship II. I got it once I completed the full time trial that unlocks after beating time trail short 7.

I don't know if it is relevant to the guide.

Did anyone else eyes hurt due to the colorfulness of the game. I had to stop numerous times.

EDIT: I also found Spiral to be the easiest to get the 1 million and 2 million points trophy on. that is if people want to wait that long to get those trophies, To get to them quicker just complete the Score attacks (5 & min) and the next level will unlock.

Visual D --- I don't know if it makes a difference but after playing with each visual that was the easiest one to look at and keep up with.

EDIT2: Here is another addition(If you want). For 1 million points and score attack 5. Change the difficulty to expert and the game speed will go up to 20+ depending on the stage, getting 1 million points quicker.
