Overview

Platinum Difficulty - 10/10

Offline: 50

Online: 1

Approx Time 'till Plat - 150 Hours+++

Minimum No. of Playthroughs needed: 7 (3x Story Mode and 4x Chapter Challenge)

Missable Trophies: 0

Glitched Trophies: 0

Cheats Disable Trophies: No Cheats Available.

Difficulty Affect Trophies: Yes

Trophy Breakdown

38(B) - 10(S) - 2(G) - 1(P)

(P)Getting That Platinum(P)

1. GET THROUGH ALL DIFFICULTIES IN STORY MODE

It may seem monotonous but this game is so awesome anyway, Who Cares? Start with 'Warrior' and move your way up from there. Once you've completed 'Warrior' go to 'Chapter Challenge' Mode and select the last mission on 'Acolyte'. Complete it and you will have gained the 'Cleared the PATH OF THE ACOLYTE' trophy without the hassle of doing the Acolyte playthrough.

2. COMPLETE ALL MISSIONS TROPHY

Quite easy until you get around half way through of the Master Ninja Missions, and then there's the near impossible task of Ultimate Ninja. The absolute best way to do this is with a partner as the AI is crap past Warrior difficulty. Here's the link to the Co-Op Thread: LINK.

3. MASTERED THE PATH OF..... TROPHIES.

I recommend doing this after the COMPLETE ALL MISSIONS TROPHY so you can cool off from the clearing the story mode trophies. For these trophies you have to gain a 'Master Ninja' ranking on all difficulties in the Chapter Challenge mode. See the guide for tips on each.

4. POLISHING UP

Whether it be kills with 'person' or kills with 'weapon' so you end up with that coveted Platinum Trophy. For both 'weapon' and 'person' kills, I'd say its best done on 'Team Mission Mode' on some of the Acolyte difficulties since the enemies roll in thick and fast, yet they can be dealt with quickly.

Also do it in single player mode so you can get stuck in to kill as many opponents as possible without some online freak stealing all of your kills!

Mastered the PATH OF THE MASTER NINJA (G)

Master the PATH OF THE MASTER NINJA.

On Chapter Challenge, you have to achieve a 'Master Ninja' Ranking on all chapters in PATH OF THE MASTER NINJA.

These tips are quite generic but they work:

1. Use weapons that you are comfortable with: Even though a lot of the time these challenges require speed, theres no point in using a speedy weapon that you are crap with.

2. Karma: These challenges also require completion with high amounts of karma; karma can be built up quickly with ultimate techniques for the 'Instant Kill' and 'UT' bonuses.

3. SPEED: As mentioned earlier time is of the essence and you need to complete the chapters in a fast time, so if you can help it - dont go into Muramasa's, dont take unfamiliar routes and deal with enemies quickly and effeciently ie. dont use flashy combos.

Nice guide, minimum playthroughs are 7 anyway. Oh and also, the team mission trophy must be done online...with the ia is technically impossible, its like you try to play the game without the controller. same thing.

(8 if u dont play only the last chapter on warrior)

That's a nice guide.

Chapter challenges are pretty easy if you chain UTs with the tonfas. You will almost always kill at least one enemy, giving you a yellow essence for the next UT. Also, remember that a level 1 UT is worth 2000, but an OT is 3000 so if you have the choice between the two, pick the OT. A level 2 UT is worth 5000.

UTs don't give extra points in boss fights (except against Marbus, and maybe other bosses that summon minions, like Zedonius and Dagra Dai, I'm not sure) so don't bother spamming them if you have a better strategy.

Successfully use the Guillotine Throw on 1000 enemies

Grind enemies with the Guillotine Throw until you get the trophy.

It can be done during the Story Mode, Chapter Challenge and Team Missions with Ryu only.

*NOTE - OTHER CHARACTERS HAVE SIMILAR MOVES TO THE GUILLOTINE THROW BUT THEY DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS THIS TROPHY*

Momiji and Ayane has the similar moves to perform the guillotine throw and I back up myself 100% that it adds up to your records. I unlock the trophy when i was using Momiji

This goes for the Izuna drop also except Rachel

For the Dual Katana 1000 trophy, Blade of the archfiend counts towards the trophy

I'm not sure about enmas fang, I know that doing 2 missions with the scythe should have netted me more then 30 kills but I didn't pay attention with the enmas fang, though it seemed to go normal for me

Enma's Fang does not works. I'm using it in my easy chapter challenges to get its 1000 kills at the same time.

Thanks for the scythe tip though, I didn't know that.

Enma's Fang works. I'm using it in my easy chapter challenges to get its 1000 kills at the same time.

I should have checked first... I thought my kill count didn't go up very fast so I've done a little experiment. Four waves of enemies, 3 OTs and one kill by a regular strike. Ninja records say: 7 kills. This means that only 3 UT kills were counted. My guess is that the UT kill will only count if the enemies is killed by the sword swings but not by the explosion. I did this test during an acolyte chapter challenge so most enemies did not survive the explosion.

So Enma's Fang UTs mostly do not count.

i just ordered the game through amazon last night.

i've beaten Ninja Gaiden 2 before, but only on normal difficulty. i didn't think it was as good as the first even though it's still a great game.

i beat the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma on Master Ninja. as well as beating it multiple times on the original Xbox back when it came out. one of my all time favorite games.

anyways, i can't wait to platinum this game. if anybody wants to add me so we can eventually co-op on the missions, go ahead. my PSN is jthamind. i'll probably be starting the game sometime next week.
