Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10 (Trophy Difficulty Thread)

Offline trophies: 13 (11(B), 1(S), 1(G))

Online trophies: 0

Approximate amount of time to 100%: 24 hours, but only because 1 trophy requires 24 hours of play time.

Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

Number of missable trophies: 0

Does difficulty affect trophies?: No difficulty setting

Do cheat codes disable trophies: N/A

Glitched Trophies: None, but note the description for Cleared 15 puzzles in a row on shuffle!

Introduction:

As the name suggests this is simply a Sudoku game. If you have ever played Sudoku before then you know the rules, If not they are as follows: The goal of the game is to fill up the 9x9 grid with the numbers from 1 through 9. You cannot have two of the same number in any given row, column or box. That's it really, it sounds easy but it can be extremely complicated. In any case, it is a ton of fun if you enjoy puzzle games. If not, this probably isn't the game for you.

Step One:

Start the game in shuffle mode. Clear 15 puzzles and you will get "Cleared 15 puzzles in a row on shuffle!". This is the easiest point at which you can obtain this trophy, since there are only 10 puzzles unlocked and only one of them is on hard difficulty.

In this step you will earn:

Cleared 15 puzzles in a row on shuffle!
(G)

Cleared 10 puzzles!
(B)

Step Two:

Beat every puzzle. Clearing certain puzzles will unlock the remaining puzzles. Clear every single puzzle in the game.

In this step you will earn:

Cleared 20 puzzles!
(B)

Cleared 30 puzzles!
(B)

Cleared 40 puzzles!
(B)

Cleared all puzzles!
(S)

Step Three:

Go back and mop up any trophies you have yet to obtain. You will likely need to pause and quit the games quite a bit for this. None of these trophies are difficult, but some of them are a bit tedious. If you have not played the game for 24 hours, do so now.

Paused a puzzle more than 50 times

To access the pause function you will need to go into the :select: menu in game and choose "Pause game". This will take you out of the game and back to the main screen. When you press play you will be prompted to resume your game. Simply pause and start 50 times and this trophy will pop.

Quit a puzzle more than 50 times

To access the quit function you will need to go into the :select: menu in game and choose "Quit". You will need to start and quit 50 times for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/464.jpgUsed "delete" 100 times! (B)

Used the delete function more than 100 times

The delete function is the :circle: button. If you do not get this through the course of normal play simply find a blank square, mash :cross: and :circle: and this will pop after you have deleted the number 100 times.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/464.jpgRead all the guides! (B)

Read all game guides

To access the guide, simply click on the guide button at the main screen, or select it from the :select: menu in game. This will bring up a brief tutorial on how to play Sudoku. There are only fifteen pages and you can simply hold the :right: button to scroll through them, as soon as you reach the end the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/464.jpgPlayed for more than 24 hours! (B)

Total play time exceeded 24 hours

This is fairly self-explanatory, you must have a total of over 24 hours of in-puzzle time. This can be seen from the main menu before you enter the game. You must actually be in-game for this to count, if the Vita goes into sleep mode it will not count as time registered. If you have cleared all the puzzles and just want this trophy, change the Vita settings to only go into Sleep Mode every 10 minutes then move the joystick occasionally while doing something else.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/464.jpgUsed "REDO" 100 times! (B)

Used the redo function more than 100 times

The redo function is a bit awkward to access. The key for it is :triangle: + :left:. Since you will likely not be using this function too often, an easy way to get it is simply place a number on any board, then hold down :triangle: and press :left: and :right: over and over again. This will also unlock the undo trophy if you haven't got that yet.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/464.jpgUsed "UNDO" 100 times! (B)

Used the undo function more than 100 times

The key to undo is :triangle:. You will probably get this through the course of normal play but if not an easy way to get it is simply place a number on any board, then hold down :triangle: and press :left: and :right: over and over again. This will also unlock the redo trophy if you haven't got that either.

Cleared all "Sudoku" puzzles

Simply clear every single puzzle in the game. There are 50 that range in difficulty from easy to hard. The previous trophies will unlock as you complete 10, 20, 30, 40 different puzzles. You cannot simply do the same one over any over to unlock them. If you're having trouble with any of them, you can use various puzzle solvers, such as: Sudoku Solutions: Sudoku Solver.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1660/0dd.jpgCleared 15 puzzles in a row on shuffle! (G)

Cleared 15 puzzles in a row on shuffle

This is best done at the very start before you have played any puzzles. This means that you will only have 10 puzzles to deal with, and only one of them is of "hard" difficulty. Once you have cleared 15 maps (there will be repeats) this trophy will pop.

NOTE: There have been several reported glitches with this trophy not popping after over 15 puzzles have been completed. To avoid this, simply do not exit out of the puzzle at any time while completing them, click "YES" at the end to progress to the next one and avoid pausing at any point if possible. You can still click the PS button to go back out to the main screen at any time without issue.

I'm sure it's the case, but all of the "Quit a puzzle 50 times" type trophies are cumulative across ALL puzzles right? You don't actually have to quit say Puzzle #12 50 times?

Also, it's pretty cheap, but if you're really struggling with some of the harder ones:

It is indeed cumulative. There is actually a number on the main screen informing you of how many times you have quit various puzzles. When it reaches 50, you're good.

To access the guide, simply click on the guide button at the main screen, or select it from the :select: menu in game. This will bring up a brief tutorial on how to play Sudoku. There are only nine pages and you can simply hold the :right: button to scroll through them, as soon as you reach the end the trophy will pop.

I just completed this trophy, and I found that there are 18 pages in the guide, not 9.

A word of warning for anyone who hasn't gotten 15 in a row in Shuffle yet. I had to play through 22 puzzles before the trophy popped. I never quit a game, but I did pause often, sometimes even backing out to the LiveArea and locking the screen for longer moments of not playing. When I finally sat down and did 15 straight, it popped.

You can probably still pause, but plan on playing all fifteen non-stop if you want the trophy to pop correctly

Thanks, I went back and checked and you are right, it is 18. No idea why I wrote 9. Fixed it.

Yeah, a few people have reported some issues. I didn't have any, but I will make a glitch note tomorrow when I get access to a computer (on phone right now, formatting is difficult). Thanks.

Are the puzzles the same for everyone, or are they just random?

If they're the same, can someone post a Puzzle Guide?

That'd be very helpful. :)

I could, but it's not really worth the time spent, what with the availability of online formulas that can complete it for you. I'll add one to the guide later when I get computer access. If there really are a lot of requests for a consice guide I can do that, but for the moment the online services are just easier.

Yeah, you're right. I just thought it would be faster than entering number by number on the website.

Anyway, thanks for the guide. :)
