Default NBA 2K11 - Trophy Guide and Road Map

Trophy Guide by Drofthuganomics1
Road Map by Dangles
Overview:
-Estimated trophy difficulty: 6/10
-Overall number of trophies: 50 (40 6 3 1)
-Offline: (31 5 2)
-Online: (9 1 1)
-Approximate time to Platinum: 100+ hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs: N/A
-Number of missable trophies: None
-Glitched Trophies: Another Day, Another Win
-Does Difficulty Affect Trophies?: Yes

From June 12, 2011 to present the platinum (The Whole Enchilada) is currently unattainable due to the NBA season being completed. If you have Another Day, Another Win completed on or before June 12, 2011, then the platinum is still attainable.

The new patch 1.20 does fix: My MVP, My Rookie of the Year, Not Over Yet and One for All trophies. Also if users want an easier My Player mode, then they should not download patch 1.20 till they are a game or two away from the last game of the regular season to get the MY MVP and MY Rookie of the Year trophies. With the new patch having PlayVision art where plays are now drawn on the floor when the CPU calls a play, easily enabling the user to follow the action on the court. See My Player Mode Trophies section of the road map for some tips that maksut029 had for point guard without downloading the new patch.

In A Non-Simulated Game Trophies

All games have to be at least 5 minute quartes. There are 18 trophies to be done in a non-simulated game. For "Trip-Dub" you have to get a triple double. For "Buzzer Beater" you have to take the lead when the clock runs out. "Five by Five" you have to record 5 stats in 5 different categories. For "Artillery" you have to make 15 three pointers. For "Wire to Wire" and "The Closer" you have to keep the lead the whole game and not let the other team score in the last 2 minutes of play. "Hold The Fat Lady" you have to start the fourth quarter losing by 10. "G Performance" you have to score 48 points with Kevin Durant. For "G Recovery" you have to use manual subs. "G Dominance" you to win the game by at least 50 points.

My Player Mode Trophies
There are 11 My Player mode trophies. You have to play really good if you want the trophy "The Big Day" - for this you have to get drafted in the first round of the draft. Then you have to play good during the summer circuit to make the NBA roster; if you do good you will get the "Complete The Circuit" trophy. While going for for the trophy "Check!" you will most likely also get "My Player Of The Game" because if you complete all 3 in game objectives you will most likely be player of the game. Patch 1.20 makes my player mode a lot harder so you may not want to download the patch and follow the tip maksut029 has said.
Quote:
Changing the Playing Quarter Length and Simulation Quarter Length is very easy. Just load your My Player mode, open the main menu, go to Options --> Game Mode Options. In here you have the option to change the quarter lengths as desired. Also, make a note on the Autosave ON/OFF option as I will mention it in the next paragraph.
Quote:

The main thing your player needs (especially a PG) is speed. The easiest (but a bit time consuming) way of accumulating speed is with the Dribble Course Drill. All you need to do is turn the Auto Save Option OFF from the above mentioned options menu, and do 1 Dribble Course Drill. You`ll need to learn the ISO Motion controls and how to do them, but with a few tries they shouldn't be a problem. Now, your goal is to get a GOLD reward for the drills. The only way of doing this, is to correctly making 2+ ISO Motion dribbles (there are 4 total). The Dribble Course is awarding you with several stats, like Ball Handling, Hands etc. The goal is to get +1/+2 speed. All you need to do is reload your My Player save if you don't get speed, and save if you do. After Draft Combine, Summer Circuit and the first drills you get as an NBA player, you should have 99 speed. It is crucial for your play, as you will be faster than any other player in the NBA, thus making your life a lot easier (driving to the basket, making space for the open shots out of dribble, assists etc.)
Quote:
There is one more thing that you should probably know. You can take away your earned speed points and put the Skill Points on some other, more cheaper Skill. Speed is the most expensive skill in my player mode, so you can build up your character by continually doing the Drible Course, while using the Speed Points to accumulate Skill Points. This method is very time consuming and boring, but if you want to build up your character faster, that is the only possible way, as I`m aware of. Personally, I just make my SG 99 in Speed, and continued to do other drills, like shooting. Shooting is not as boring as the Dribbles

The Press Conferences are important as well, because of Team Chemistry and your Local/Worldwide popularity. The team chemistry is crucial part of your success as well, because if you have a low chemistry with your teammates, they wont pass you the ball and your skills will drop. Worldwide popularity is connected with the Endorsements you`ll receive from Jordan brand. If you don't want to get boo-ed when you enter a game, then you`ll need high Local popularity. I also think that players with high Local popularity are hardly traded for other teams, except if they requested it by themselves.
For the trophy "My Every Day Player",you will most likely get this by the time you get the trophy "My Big Eight-O" because if you're 80 overall you will most likely be a starter. It's best to be either a 7'5" monster center or a 6'7" point guard. Being a monster center you need to set lots of screens by using and rebound and score for a good grade. For a tall pg you need to score and pass, and on missed shots hustle out for a fast break for a better grade.

The Association Mode Trophies
There are 3 The Association mode trophies. All of these trophies require you to actually play the games. The first trophy "Streaking" you have to win 5 games in a row that you play. For the "Home Court" trophy you have to play 30 games and you have to play the game that clinches the playoffs for your team. Then for "Ticker Tape" you have to play and win all the games in the playoffs.

Jordan Mode Trophies
There are 2 Jordan mode trophies. The first Jordan mode trophy is "Living The Dream",for this you have to complete all the tasks in the 10 games played as Micheal Jordan. For the other trophy, "Air Apparent",you have to unlock all 40 pairs of shoes and every show unlocks randomly through just playing the game normally.

Online Trophies
There are 11 online trophies. Six of the trophies are from winning 20 ranked matches and win 5 in a row. "All For One" you have to win a online crew game. There are 2 online team up games and they are "Teamwork" and "One For All" - for these you have to win a team up game and get a positive team play rating.

The Big Day Get drafted in the 1st round of the NBA draft in My Player mode.

This a challenging trophy for many. It does NOT matter what your in-game stats are as the only thing that matters and counts is your teammate grade. There are only three combine games and in those games have your quarter length set to 10 or 12 minutes long. Since there are only three games, you want to give yourself a better shot at getting a B+ or higher teammate grade. After each game you will see at the bottom or your My Player homepage your stock value in the draft (where you are projected of being drafted). Once all three games have been played, you will enter the NBA Draft and if you have been getting good teammate grades then you should be drafted in the 1st round.

Complete the CircuitComplete the Summer Circuit and make an NBA roster in My Player Mode.

There are only four Summer Circuit games. Just like you did in the three games for the draft combine, the goal here is again to average a B+ or higher teammate per game to make the NBA roster of the team that drafted you, instead of being sent to the NBA D-League. Have your quarter length set to 10 or 12 minutes long as in Summer Circuit you will be subbed in and out of games, so getting a good teammate grade can be a bit more difficult. After the Summer Circuit is over, and if you made the NBA roster, the trophy will appear.

Check!Complete all 3 in-game objectives in My Player mode.

During any My Player game, you are given three in-game objectives: 1 offensive, such as shoot 70% or better from the free throw line, 1 defensive, such as hold your match up to less than 11 points, and 1 teammate grade, which is usually get a teammate grade of C+ or better. You can check during the game to see how are doing by going to the in-game menu and selecting performance to see how you are doing with your in-game objectives. Complete all three, and the trophy is yours at the end of the game.

Keep Your Friends CloseWin a My Player Pick-Up Game.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

When in My Player mode, choose to play a Pick-Up Game. This game is unranked, but if you play well you will gain experience points to help improve your player. You will be matched up against another user or users and be playing a 4 quarter, 20 minute game, and each user playing the position that they have choose for their player. Win the game, and the trophy is yours.

My AirCreate your own signature Air Jordans.

When you are playing in the NBA, you need have good games both stats wise and teammate grade wise to earn an opportunity for the Jordan Brand to offer you a deal with a shot to make your own signature Air Jordan's. Before you get the opportunity to create your own signature Air Jordan's, the Jordan Brand will send you a welcome letter, put you billboard, and put you on a magazine cover. Increasing your league wide popularity is very important. In your press conferences answer with arrogance, when the questions are about your player getting an award and game play. Answer with loyalty, when the questions are your team. Answer with professionalism, when the questions seem to be a tie between arrogance and loyalty. This trophy can happen either mid-way through the season or later in your career.

My Player of the GameBe named Player of the Game (in an NBA game) in My Player mode.

You have to be playing on a NBA team to get this trophy. To be named the Player of the Game, you need to have the best performance out of everyone on the floor and WIN the game. Normally, you will get this by scoring the most points in the game or if you achieve a double-double or a triple-double in a game. When the game is over, and you are named the Jordan Brand Player of the Game, the trophy will be yours.

My Every Day PlayerBecome a starter in the NBA in My Player Mode.

To become a starter in the NBA, you NEED to average an A or better teammate grade, with good numbers stat wise from points, rebounds, and assists. This can take some time depending on the position you have chosen, and the starting player you are battling with to start for your team. If you notice you are slowly gaining minutes and the starter is losing minutes, then you are on the path to becoming a starter. If you feel you will not become a starter for your team, then you can request a trade, but be careful as your current team may not send you to one your preferred destinations.

My Big Eight-OEarn an 80 overall rating in My Player mode.

80 Overall with your My Player, this can take a season or two to achieve depending on how you made your My Player. The taller you made your My Player, the less skill points you will get per game and per accomplishment. In the games you play, you will want the have your quarter length set to 10 or 12 minutes long to help rack up points and either rebounds, blocks, steals, or assists. Also, try to always aim for a "A" or higher teammate grade and complete all three in-game objectives to increase skill points after each game. Drills are also helpful, but only do the drills you know your My Player will be good in so you can gain an extra 400 skill points and improve by 1 or 2 attributes in a category based on the drill. Once you reach 80 overall with your My Player, the trophy will appear.

My All-StarBe named an NBA All-Star in My Player mode.

To become an All-Star you need to have good stats leading up the All-Star game in February as voting starts in December, and have you league popularity up if you want to get voted to start in the All-Star game. It does help having your offense and defense awareness up to 80 or more in each category, but you can still be an All-Star even if you do not make the vote-in. If you do not get to start, you will get a notice telling you you did make the team as a bench player. You MUST play the All-Star game, and after the game the trophy will be yours.

Buzzer BeaterMake a game winning shot with no time left on the clock, in a non-simulated game.

You NEED to have the ball in your possession, and in your best player's hands (unless you are using custom sliders). Shoot the ball with almost one second left on the game clock in the fourth quarter or overtime (not the 24 second shot clock) and make the basket to win the game.

It is best to have the game tied in case you miss you can try again in overtime.

Trip-DubRecord a triple double with any player, in a non-simulated game.

You can get this with either a point guard (Chris Paul) or center (Dwight Howard). All you need is to have 10+ in three statistical areas. The most common is points, rebounds, and assists. It is best to go after getting rebounds first, which you can by highlighting your player, pressing and using to grab a rebound (any rebounds the computer grabs with you player counts). Second, go after assists (an assist is when you pass the ball to a player and they score). When going for assists, try to pass the ball to your best shooter. Finally, go after points. To shoot the ball use or the .

If you have a stat line that looks like this: 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, then you will get the trophy in game.

Dub-DubRecord two double doubles with any teammates, in a non-simulated game.

You NEED two players to record a double-double. Best to use a point guard (Chris Paul) and a center (Dwight Howard). All you need is to have 10+ in two statistical areas. The most common is points, rebounds, or assists. It is best to have your center focus on rebounds and points, and your point guard focus on points and assists.

If you have a stat line that looks like this for your point guard: 10 points and 10 assists and for your center: 10 points and 10 rebounds, then you will get the trophy.

Five by FiveRecord 5 or more in 5 different stats with any player in a non-simulated game.

This trophy is best done with a center, such as Dwight Howard. You need to have 5+ in five statistical areas. The most common is points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Focus on getting blocks and rebounds first as they are the most challenging. To block or get a rebound use , though to block you need to time you block just as the shooter is going for their shot. Next, focus on steals. To steal the ball press . Lastly, focus on points and assists.

If you have a stat line that looks like this for your player: 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assist, 5 steals and 5 blocks, then you will get the trophy.

ArtilleryMake 15 or more 3-pointers with any team, in a non-simulated game.

This is a cumulative team trophy for one game. It does not matter who makes the 3-point shots as long as your team makes 15 in one game. Best way is to turn up your three point shooting in options.

Block PartyRecord 10 or more blocks with any team, in a non-simulated game.

This is a cumulative team trophy for one game. To block use , though to block you need to time you block just as the shooter is going for their shot. This can be difficult, so if you are having trouble then use the two controller method. In the two controller method, have player 1 be the defender and player 2 be the shooter, and then time your sequence as player 2 shoots you as player 1 blocks the shot. Do this 10 times and the trophy is yours.

Grand TheftRecord 10 or more steals with any team, in a non-simulated game.

This is a cumulative team trophy for one game. To steal the ball use when you are near the ball handler. You will want to turn down your opponent's ball handling and turn up your stealing ability in options. Do this 10 times and the trophy is yours.

Swat and SwipeRecord at least 5 blocks and 5 steals with any team, in a non-simulated game.

This trophy is best done with a power forward (Chris Bosh) or a center (Dwight Howard). First, go after blocks as they are hardest to get. To block use , though to block you need to time your block just as the shooter is going for their shot. To steal, press . You may need to edit the user sliders to increase your ability to block and steal.

SmotheringHold the opposing team's FG% below 40% with any team, in a non-simulated game.

See "G Dominance" for more information.

Giveth and Taketh AwayRecord 10 or more rebounds and assists with any player, in a non-simulated game.

This trophy is best done with a power forward (Chris Bosh) or a center (Dwight Howard). To rebound, use . To pass the ball use , and when going for assists, try to pass the ball to your best shooter. If the CPU grabs a rebound with your player or gets an assist with your player, then those stats will still count.

Hold the Fat LadyStart the 4th period losing by 10 or more points and win with any team, in a non-simulated game.

By the end of the 3rd quarter, you HAVE to be down by 10 or more points. With about 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, either intentionally foul the opposing team by hitting or allowing the opposing team to score by moving defenders away from the ball handler. Now in the 4th quarter, either shoot 3s to get back in the game or play solid two way basketball. If you go into overtime, it does not affect the trophy - as long as you win the trophy will appear.

Wire to WireDo not allow your opponent to lead the game at any point with any team, in a non-simulated game.

This is a rather easy trophy. Win the tip-off at the start of the game and score to take the lead. Then for the rest of the game make sure you lead the game till the end of the game. The other team can tie the game, but as long as they do not take the lead, you will still get the trophy. If you are not using custom sliders then play as the Miami Heat against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

4-Point LinePull off a successful 4-point play with any player, in a non-simulated game.

This can be done against the CPU with sliders adjusted. Make sure your game has at least 5 minute quarters. When using custom sliders, change USER 3 point success to 100, then change CPU shooting foul frequency to 100. When in game, get behind the 3-point line and pump fake your defender by tapping . When your defender jumps in the air, shoot the ball and the defender will about 75% of the time foul you, then make the free throw and the trophy is yours.

Not Over YetMake a 3 pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, in a non-simulated game.

You NEED to have the ball in your possession, and in your best 3-point shooter hands (unless you are using custom sliders). Shoot the ball from behind the 3-point line with almost one second left on the game clock in the fourth quarter or overtime (not the 24 second shot clock) and make the basket to send the game into overtime.

The CloserHold the opposing team to 0 points in the final two minutes of regulation, in a non-simulated game.

In the fourth quarter, you CANNOT allow the opposing team score at all in the final 2 minutes of the game. If you are using custom sliders (CPU sliders all at zero, USER sliders all at 100), then this will be easy to attain. If you are still struggling to not allow the opposing team to score, then use the two controller method, where controller 1 does not allow controler 2 to score. You can go into overtime, and even if you lose or win the trophy will appear at the end of the game.

G PerformanceScore at least 48 points with Kevin Durant to set a new career high, in a non-simulated game.

In a quick game using 5 minute quarters, play as the Oklahoma City Thunder against a weak team like the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the game, get the ball as much as you can to number 35, Kevin Durant. Use custom sliders to ensure that Durant can make all his shots, and you should have this trophy before halftime.

G RecoveryPlay an entire game using manual substitutions, in a non-simulated game.

At the beginning of the game before the tip-off, hit and scroll down to options > coaching. Turn substitutions to manual and timeouts to manual. Then exit out by hitting , and play the entire game with 5 minute quarters. At the end of the game the trophy will be yours.

*Currently Unattainable due to the NBA season being completed*

After you sign into the 2K servers you will see the ranked game, quick game setup with the NBA today match ups listed. Now start the process all over again, and after 5 games the trophy is yours.

**You cannot try and not sign into the 2K servers and change the PS3's date settings to an earlier date to unlock past NBA Today matchups. NBA Today matchups come ONLY from the 2K servers.

Sprite Slam Dunk ShowdownBeat LeBron James in the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown.

First off, you want to go and edit all LeBron's stats so they are the lowest they can possible go. Second, go and edit the player you will use to go against LeBron, such as a Josh Smith or Nate Robinson. Now go to game modes and then NBA Blacktop and from there you will see from there you will see Slam Dunk Showdown. Pick who you will be playing as and have Lebron be the second player.

In the dunk showdown, use simple dunks with no props. You want to able to make your dunks as a Lebron with lowered stats will be missing dunks and even losing the ball in midair. It may take a few tries depending on your skill level of dunking, but a lowered LeBron is way easier to defeat than a normal LeBron.

Top TreyWin the Sprite Blacktop 3pt Shootout.

Go to game modes and then NBA Blacktop and from there you will see from there you will see 3-point shootout.

Pick Kyle Korver of the Chicago Bulls. Now for the other three spots, use the button to search for players from NBA teams, instead of the top 3-point shooters from last season. Pick three centers, as they are horrible at shooting threes.

To make 3-pointers, you need line up the basketball with the circle in the meter for the shot to go in the basket. It will take a few tries to get the timing down, but going against centers will make this easy.

All for OneWin one online crew game.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

From the main menu > team up. Then go to My Crew or if you have not joined a crew then you can create your own crew or join one by using the boosting thread. You NEED to have at least two people in your crew to play a crew game. You can either play as your My Player or a player from an NBA team. Win the game, both All for One and Teamwork is yours. At the moment there is no possible way to get this trophy.

TeamworkWin one online Team-Up game.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

See "All for One" for more information. Just so you know, this trophy is not glitched.

One for AllEarn a positive 'Teammate Rating' in any online Team-Up game.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

Depending the position the game gives you, you will want to make sure you limit your match up point total. When playing offense, try and set a lot of screens. To set a screen, use when you are close to the defender who is guarding the ball handler. The ball handler will use the screen to go by the defender, and if you were successful in your screen you will see your meter improve. Take shots you know are the easiest for your player to make based on the position, and once you are in the "A" teammate grade, just play smart so no fouls, no bad shots, and do not let your match up score. After the game is over, the trophy will be yours.

My Rookie of the YearWin the NBA Rookie of the Year award in My Player mode.

After the Summer Circuit, go to options and set the sim quarter length to 1 minute, and in-game play at 12 minutes. This way all the other rookies will play at most is 4 minutes a game, and you will be getting 20+ minutes a game, which will give you better stats than all the other rookies making you the clear cut winner for Rookie of the Year. The trophy should appear during the end of regular season awards screen. Though with patch 1.20, the trophy requires you to play a few drills or a few playoff games for the trophy to appear.

G DominanceWin by at least 50 points with any team, in a non-simulated game.

Easiest way is to edit the game sliders, where all USER sliders are 100 and CPU sliders are 0. Now go play a quick game with 5 minute quarters, and using your custom sliders the CPU will constantly be bricking and missing shots. Be careful to not allow layups or dunks as even with custom sliders the CPU will still make layups and dunks. While holding the opposing team to under 40% field-goal percentage, simply score as much as possible to win the game by 50 points. The trophies will appear at the end of the game. You can check your in game stats by hitting and scrolling down to box score for team stats.

Live the DreamComplete all of the Jordan Challenge games.

There are a total of 10 challenges. You have to reach each requirement per challenge before you are allowed to move on to the next challenge. You do have the option of in-game saving as these games have 8 minute quarters, and in-game saving does not affect the trophy. These challenges can be difficult, and if you are struggling then edit the rosters for the opposing team and the Bulls roster in the challenge to make reaching each requirement easier. Also, you can change the difficulty from Pro to Rookie in-game by options > My NBA Settings > Gameplay.

Below are the 10 Jordan Challenges.

StreakingWin 5 games in a row in The Association mode (playing all 5 games).

See "Ticker Tape" for more information.

Home CourtEarn the NBA's best record in The Association mode (at least 30 games played).

See "Ticker Tape" for more information.

You're Officially HotWin 5 ranked matches in a row.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

Simply win 5 ranked matches in a row. See "Jackson" for more information. Use this
boosting thread to find a boosting partner for this trophy.

My MVPWin the NBA MVP award in My Player mode.

After the Summer Circuit, go to options and set the sim quarter length to 1 minute, and in-game play at 12 minutes. This will take some work depending on the team you join because if you join a team like the Lakers, then it is possible that Kobe could win the MVP. Winning the MVP comes down to how long it takes you to become a starter. The quicker you become a starter, the better set you are to have good scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, and blocks average to put you in the top tier of the league. Will help if you are on a playoff bound team, but with every other team in the league playing 4 minute games the only competition you have is your fellow starters. The trophy will appear during the end of regular season awards screen.

Ticker TapeWin an NBA Championship in The Association mode (playing every playoff game).

You want to either choose a really good team such as the Los Angeles Lakers/Miami Heat/Boston Celtics or edit your favorite team roster so that every player is rated 99 overall. Change the regular season from 82 games to a 58 game season with one minute quarters and set the playoff series to 1 game. Play and win the first 5 games to earn Streaking, then continue to play and win the next 26 games, giving you 31 games played. After winning the 31st (or 32nd) game, just sim till the playoffs. There is a 90% chance that you will have the best record in the NBA earning you Home Court (if you play the first 31 games, you should not have to play the game that clinches the best record.

Finally, play and win three playoff games and one finals game. After you win the championship, the trophy will appear for Ticker Tape.

JacksonWin 20 ranked matches total.

*Unattainable due to 2K Sports closing the online servers*

This is hardest part of getting a platinum in NBA 2K11. It is at times almost impossible to boost 3 straight wins "Back to Back to Back" and 5 straight wins "You're Officially Hot" as there are so many good players online. This year though, 2K sets up ranked games based on your NAT. Best time to try to boost would be early morning hours or in the early part of the afternoon as there are way too many players online in the evenings. You do need to play the full game for the stats and wins to register to the 2K servers. If you want to boost this trophy (though boosting is virtually impossible due to the massive amount of players on the 2K servers), use the boosting thread.

Without boosting, complete the whole game from start to finish, and win it. Quitters can break your streak sometimes. So, if you are good at this game, keep the game close (max 10 points advantage), so that the other player plays it till the end. Eventually, you'll earn all ranked online trophies. If you want to boost this trophy, use the boosting thread.

I personally never had a problem with quitters not counting towards my win streak, but other people have said they're still breaking their streak so I can't confirm one or the other. Like I said though, after the first day when Ronnie said they fixed the servers (January 11th or so) every quitter counted towards my win total and streak.

BUT! The catch is that apparently the game only checks to see if you've met the requirements to earn a trophy after completing a full game. So, for example, if you win two games in a row, and then earn another win from a quitter, you will not get the three-game win streak trophy, even if your leaderboards say you have a W3 streak. However, if you complete and win your next game, you'll earn Back-To-Back-To-Back with a W4, and then if you complete and win your next game you'll get You're Officially Hot with a W5 like you're supposed to.

The same goes for Lincoln/Hamilton/Jackson. I went like 23-4 or something to start, and at least 7 or 8 of those wins came from quitters, many of them during one long W16+ streak. My 20th recorded win came from a quitter, but when I won my 21st game with a complete game, Jackson popped up for me just like the W3/W5 streak trophies.

According to someone else, though, if you earn a win streak from a quitter and then lose, the game will only recognize your L1 and you won't earn any trophies, even if you met the requirements prior to that loss.
The Whole EnchiladaEarn every trophy in NBA 2K11.

No shit, I switched over from Live. This game is better than Live but actually had achievable trophies!
