Introduction:

For those who played NatGeo Challenge Wild Life, the gameplay here is very similar. However, the game is much, much simpler to Platinum. The only real roadblock is that the game requires 3 controllers to Platinum. There are a large number of puzzles (jigsaw, square, sliders) to complete but the difficulty is quite low. Also, this game includes a new mode, Explorer. Explorer is basically like Risk but battles are fought with trivia.

Step 1: Explorer

You will only need one controller here, even for the multiplayer trophies (Hot-Seat mode allows all players to take turns on the same controller). You will probably need to play 3-4 games of Explorer to get all trophies. In each game, choose two players and make it your goal for each of the two players to completely conquer at least one continent. The game will end if either player gains 2200 points so plan accordingly. In one match, Player 1 will need to conquer at least 18 territories. In one match, you will need to use 4 players (again, 1 controller) and allow Player 1 to win. Last, in one match Player 1 should focus on winning all competitive puzzles. Read specific trophy guides for details - trophies included in this step are: One Small Step; Dr Livingstone I Presume?; Have a Captain Cook; The Grand Tour; Silks and Spices; Voyage of Discovery; The Inca Trail; Hearts and Minds; On a Roll; All For One...; Diversity

Step 2: Puzzles

First, play one game of 2-player Puzzle Attack and allow Player 1 to win. Then complete all the puzzles in individual puzzle mode. Completing puzzles unlocks new puzzles. All in all you will need to complete 90 puzzles, each requiring about 2-3 minutes. You will attain Prince of Puzzles; Jiggery-Pokery; Lord of the Dance; Squared Away; Square Eyed; Slipping and Sliding; Let It Slide from this step.

Step 3: Quizzes

You will need to win at least one Long Quiz using three controllers. Also, you need to attain minimum scores (not difficult) in Short, Medium, and Hard Quiz lengths. You also need to complete five short and five long quizzes (1 player). Lastly, you will need to end at least one quiz with a negative score (lose points on the betting rounds). This step should take no more than 2 hours. You will attain Enter A New Challenger; Counter-Intelligence; ...One For All; Child's Play; Mommas and Poppas; Bragging Rights; Quiz Hero; Quiz Lord; Quiz Titan; Columbus Salutes You! from this step.

BAM! You're done.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/03.jpgHearts and Minds (G)

Control half the Territories in a game of Explorer

This takes a little planning. The max score before ending the game is 2200 and you must control 18 of the 36 Territories. Since each territory is worth at least 100 points, you MUST completely avoid all territories worth 250 or 500 points. Only take territories worth 100 points. Have the second player bounce back and forth between two adjacent territories that they own. There is a chance that you will randomly hit an exchange bonus which may award you a 500 point territory - there is no protection against this but the second player can take the territory away from you to reduce your point total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/03.jpgOn A Roll (G)

Win 5 consecutive, competitive puzzles in a game of Explorer

Competitive territory battles are decided by either Trivia or Puzzle competitions. It is very unlikely that you will get 5 consecutive puzzles, as the misleading description might indicate. You only need to win 5 competitive puzzles without losing one - what happens on any trivia matches in between is irrelevant. So, lose any quiz matches, and win every puzzle match. The trophy popped on my first try - this trophy does not seem to be glitched for the North American version, though the EU version is (to date) still apparently unachievable.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/03.jpgAll For One... (G)

Complete a game of Explorer with 3 other players beside you

You don't need four controllers - Hot-Seat Mode allows you to play as 4 with only one controller. You don't need the first player to win, you just need the match to end by having one of the four attain a score of 1700.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/03.jpg...One for All (G)

Complete 5 Quizes alone (profile owner only).

Self-explanatory. You don't need to win five quizzes, or even score. Just barrel through 5 quizzes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/01.jpgChild's Play (B)

Complete 5 Quizes on Easy Difficulty (profile owner only)

Self-explanatory. You just need to play 5 quizzes (any length) on Easy Difficulty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/01.jpgMommas and Poppas (B)

Complete 5 Quizes on Hard Difficulty (profile owner only)

Self-explanatory. Just need to play 5 quizzes (any length) on Hard Difficulty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/02.jpgPrince of Puzzles (S)

Win a Puzzle Battle against another player

Only trophy related to puzzle battle. Just sabotage the second player and you will win the puzzle match in just a couple of minutes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/01.jpgJiggery-Pokery (B)

Complete your first Jigsaw puzzle

In just plain puzzles (not puzzle battle mode), you just need to assemble one jigsaw puzzle. All jigsaws are only 24 pieces.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/02.jpgLord of the Dance (S)

Complete all Jigsaw puzzles

In just plain puzzles (not puzzle battle mode), you need to assemble all jigsaw puzzles. All jigsaws are only 24 pieces. You will unlock a new puzzle each time you complete one. At 2-3 minutes each, this should take 1-2 hours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/01.jpgSquared Away (B)

Complete your first Square puzzle

In just plain puzzles (not puzzle battle mode), you just need to assemble one square puzzle. All square puzzles are only 24 pieces.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/02.jpgLet It Slide (S)

Complete all Slider puzzles

In plain puzzles (not puzzle battle mode), you need to re-arrange all slider puzzles. All sliders are only 8 pieces. All slider puzzles are default unlocked. At 2-3 minutes each, this should take 1-2 hours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/02.jpgCounter-Intelligence (S) (H)

You have finished a round in any Quiz with a negative score, alone or with friends

Regardless of number of players, you can lose points in Rounds 2 & 4 of any quiz. However, you will not unlock the trophy until the end of the entire quiz. Don't panic when it doesn't unlock after your first negative Round.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1020/03.jpgDiversity (G) (H)

You captured a Territory in each colour in a game of Explorer

In ONE game of Explorer, you must take at least one Territory on each continent (each color). This is almost impossible to miss whilst going for Hearts and Minds.

Hopefully this answers all of your questions. Happy hunting on this extremely easy and brief platinum.

Complete 5 Quizes alone (profile owner only).

Self-explanatory. You don't need to win five quizzes, or even score. Just barrel through 5 quizzes.

This one is glitching on me too, in addition to On A Roll....

Any UK game owners who has gotten "...One for All"?

Edit: Got "...One for All", but the trophy description in the guide is misleading, the 5 Quizes has to be done alone and with 80 questions length.

The Quizzes do not need to be 80 questions in the NA version, and the guide was written based on that version. It seems there are multple trophy programming glitches, and we're only finding them one at a time.

There is absolutely something wrong with the US version of this game. I have now played 7 quizzes alone, and still have neither the 5 easy quiz trophy nor the 5 quizzes alone trophy.

EDIT: So, I think that if you play multiplayer, the game gets screwed up about whose profile you're on, or something. IN any case, if you just delete your game and start over, it fixes it.

Thank you for your awesome guide ;)

One thing did however annoy me quite a bit from this guide though, it seems to be missing 'PLATINUM IS UNACHIEVABLE ON EU VERSION' in bright red right at the top of your guide.

Other than that great guide though and thank for the effort.
