Introduction:

NASCAR The Game: Inside Line is a racing simulation game created by Eutechnyx and published by Activision, inspired by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. This game includes the whole 2012 Season with some moments from the 2011 Season.

The game itself is not very difficult and can be managed if you get used to the way the game works, however, some trophies will require tremendous skill and luck e.g. The King and Hustler. This Plat will be no easy feat.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Career - Become a Champion on Normal Difficulty

In order to get used to the way the game works, i strongly recommend you to start your 1st Attempt on Career Mode on Normal Difficulty. You should have trouble in the first couple of races, but as long as you spend the credits you earn after every race at Car Upgrades, you should be fine. Make sure to enter the Chase and score at least 5 wins in the last 10 races with 10 Top 5s if possible.

Also don't forget to earn some misc trophies as The Intimidator and the finishing trophies as Too much!. Finally, do every Invitational Event that comes in your way, and win them. They’re really easy to beat.

You should have these trophies after this step is completed:

(S) 1%'er

(B) First Steps

(B) The Intimidator

(B) Treat Yourself

(B) Draft Dodger

(B) Upgrade Complete

(B) Speedstar

(S) Perfect Day

(B) Polish Victory Lap

(S) Challenging

Step 2: Career - Complete a Season on Hard Difficulty

Your next step, should lead you in a new season with a fully upgraded car, but in a harder difficulty. This season should be a walk in the park so try to win as many events as you can (Including the season opener Daytona 500). You should know that this step is your practice for the next season on Champion Difficulty.

Once you complete this step you should have these trophies:

(S) Day At The Beach

(B) Brainiac

Step 3: Career - Become A Champion On Champion Difficulty

Welcome To Hell! All your practice, all your effort is going to be proven here. From the very first race, you'll be in serious trouble. However, there is a slightly easier way in order to win the Championship in this difficulty (See the Champion Trophy Description). Drive in a hard and precise way all the time, and the championship will be yours, thus ending your Career Mode Playthrough. At this moment you should have enough credits to buy everything in Reward Store and unlock the Collector Trophy.

You should have these trophies after you complete this step:

(G) The King

(S) Collector

Step 4: Single Player - Become A Champion in Single Season Mode and Chase Mode

Once you're done with Career Mode, head into Single Player and win both Single Season Mode and Chase Mode. This step should be a walk in the park, as you can choose play through Easy Difficulty. Make sure to post the fastest lap in every race, so you can possibly obtain the Trend Setter. If not, you will unlock it it the latter steps of this Roadmap.

Completing this step will net you the following trophies:

(B) Chase Champion

(S) Season Champion

(S) Trend Setter

Step 5: Challenges - Complete all Highlight Challenges

This is one of the toughest parts in your Road to Platinum! Highlight Challenges will need perfect skills and absolute precision in your overtaking as you can spin yourself easily. You'll attempt some challenges multiple times but as you get used to them, they become more manageable.

When you complete this step you should have these trophies:

(B) Challenger

(S) Challenge Complete

Step 6: Online Mode

The online is by far the hardest part in your road to Platinum. While a couple of trophies are easy to get, the Hustler trophy will be really hard to get. However every trophy is boostable with some attempts for every trophies. As the Online is officially empty, you can check the Boosting Thread if you need some help with the trophies.

Completing this step will net you with the following trophies:

(B) Newbie

(S) Contender

(B) Long Road Back

(B) Lap It Up

(B) Hustler

Step 7: Cleanup

You should have only a handful trophies left now. Just meet every requirement for the rest of the trophies and this hard earned Platinum will be yours:

(B) Van Gogh

(B) Snap Happy

(B) Ironman

(B) Action Shot

To earn this trophy you need to earn 1,000,000 Credits throughout your Career. The amount of money you take after finishing a race, varies as your finishing position and the sponsors in your car affect the money you get. If you want to earn lots of credits, try to win these events:

-Daytona 500 (700,000-1,500,000): The prize varies from the sponsors you have

-Sprint Cup All-Star Race (1,000,000): To qualify for the race you need to have to 1 Win in the same year or 1 Championship in the past 10 Career Seasons.

You'll get this trophy in the first 10 races of your 1st Career Season.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/86C.jpg Passing The Time (B)

Flip the Track Pass 500 times during loading.

The Track Pass is actually a statistics card that will spawn in the loading screen, hanging from a lanyard. Press :cross: to flip it as many times as you can. This trophy is cumulative to all modes so a nice way to earn this trophy fast is in Online Mode. Head to a lobby and wait for the loading screen to appear. When the Track Pass spawns, flip it as many times you can and you'll have 12-20 flips per loading screen. Otherwise this will be one of the last trophies you'll earn.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/D15.jpg Draft Dodger (B)

Draft a total of 1000 yards in a race.

Drafting is when you follow your opponent from behind at close range gaining extra speed. You'll know that you're drafting your opponent when white stripes will appear on his car. You'll probably earn this trophy in your very first race, the Daytona 500. If you fail to do so there are other tracks that can help you earn this trophy without much effort (e.g. Talladega, Pocono and Indianapolis).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/6B7.jpg Newbie (B)

Take part in your first Public Online Race.

If you follow my Roadmap, this will be the first trophy you'll earn. Head to "Multiplayer" Mode and select "Playstation Network", from there choose Quick Race to enter a random lobby. The trophy will unlock after you finish the race.

The Daytona 500 is considered to be the biggest event in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Season, thus making it the most rewarding one in terms or Credits. Simply win the race and the trophy is yours. Here's a tip you need to know in order to have chances to win this race:

If you fail to qualify in a good position (Outside Top 20), don't worry! After the Qualifying there are the Daytona Duels. The 43-car field is divided into 2 groups that will race for a few laps. The winners of the Duels will take P3 or P4 on the grid, do your best in order to win this race as it’s critical for a possible win.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/635.jpg Startin' on Pole (B)

Qualify on pole for the first time in Career or Season Mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/3DF.jpg Miles Away (B)

Win your first Intermediate track race in Career or Season Mode.

Intermediate tracks are the classic 1.5mile Oval tracks. These tracks test the way you take corners and the most important thing which is to avoid getting your car loose (slide). You'll have many races in order to obtain this trophy so you shouldn't worry about this trophy. Win one of these races and the trophy is yours:

If you meet one of the requirements, the trophy will be yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/9A5.jpg Chase Champion (B)

Win the Sprint Cup in Chase Mode.

Chase Mode differs from the Single Season Mode. In this mode you'll start the season in Race 27/36 and you'll be in the Chase, from there you'll need to take the Championship. Play through Easy Difficulty if you want, in order to earn this trophy easily.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/75D.jpg Challenging (S)

Complete a Head to Head Challenge.

Head To Head Challenges are Invitational Events you'll come across during your Career. In this Challenge you'll need to beat an opponent to the finish line. There are no actual tips I can give you here, just drive as precise as you can and you'll face no real trouble. Once you win the challenge, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/518.jpg Short & Sweet (B)

Win your first Short track race in Career or Season Mode.

Short Tracks are (as the title says) the shortest Ovals in the Sprint Cup Calendar. This type of track, tests your braking skills. Make sure to brake at the correct time or you'll end up hard in the wall causing a chaos behind you. Win one of the following races and the trophy is yours:

-Dover (2 Races In Calendar)

-Martinsville (2 Races In Calendar)

-Richmond (2 Races In Calendar)

-Bristol (2 Races In Calendar)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/935.jpg Season Champion (S)

Single Season Mode is a Single Player Mode that lets you compete in the Sprint Cup Championship using your favourite driver. Simply play through the championship on Easy Difficulty and you should have no trouble unlocking this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/1DE.jpg Van Gogh (B)

Create a custom paint scheme.

Go to Custom Car in the Main Menu, add anything you want to the car and then save it. The trophy shall pop after the saving process is completed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/514.jpg Turn Right? (B)

Win your first Road Course race in Career or Season Mode.

Road Courses, are Circuit Tracks with left and right turns. These tracks test your overall driving skills. While the chances to get this trophy in a season are minimal, if you're experienced enough with racing games you should breeze through this trophy easily. Win on one of the following tracks and the trophy is yours:

-Sonoma (1 Race In Calendar)

-Watkins Glen (1 Race In Calendar)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/C13.jpg Last Man Standing (B)

Win an Eliminator Invitational event.

Eliminator Challenges are Invitational Events you'll come across during your Career. In this Challenge, you'll need to finish 1st in a small car field, while you try avoiding getting eliminated after each lap. The last person to cross the finish line, gets eliminated. While there's no real trouble you'll face, if you're close to be eliminated you can always spin the person in front of you in order to survive. Once you win the challenge, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/054.jpg Trend Setter (S)

Finish a race with the fastest lap 100 times.

If you're following my Roadmap, you're probably going to get this trophy in your Single Player Seasons Playthrough. Achieving the fastest lap is not really hard on the first 3 difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard) so you'll have over 60 fastest laps on your Career Playthrough. If you didn’t achieve the trophy after all, just run a few races Single Player posting fastest lap in each one and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/981.jpg Contender (S)

Win your first Public Online Race.

In order to access Public Online Races, go in the Multiplayer section and press "Playstation Network". From there go to "Quick Race" to enter a lobby. However, this trophy is boostable. If you want to boost it, just check the Boosting Thread to find players.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/887.jpg Mano a Mano (B)

Win a Driver Duel Invitational event.

Driver Duel Challenges are Invitational Events you'll come across during your Career. In this Challenge, you and your opponent will be placed in the starting line and in the halfway point. From there you need to chase each other. You'll know when you’re closing the gap to your opponent as there's a meter atop of the screen which shows your and your opponent's gap. To win the event, you need to overtake your opponent or close the gap more that your A.I. Once you win the challenge, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/87A.jpg Champion (G)

Win the Sprint Cup in Career Mode.

If you're following my Roadmap you'll unlock this trophy in your Normal Career Season as you'll probably get many easy wins. I got 21 on my first playthrough, winning the Championship with a 90 point gap. Just follow my tips for each type of track (Check the track trophies for help) and you should be good to go. Once you complete the final race in Homestead while in the points lead, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/887.jpg Taking Care Of Business (B)

Sign a sponsor to each location on the car.

In order to sign sponsors on your car, you need to beat some Career Objectives. New sponsors will be interested and in order to sign a contract with them, you need to complete their objectives. Once you sign a sponsor in the back of the car you'll unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/BCF.jpg Clock Watcher (B)

Earn Gold at a Thunderlap Invitational event.

Thunderlap Challenges are Invitational Events you'll come across during your Career. In this Challenge you'll need to beat the Gold time like in any other classic time trial event. It is an easy event that you'll beat with no sweat. I beat the gold time on my first lap with a huge gap. Once you win the challenge, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/98A.jpg Action Shot (B)

Take a picture of your car with all four wheels off the track.

Another really easy trophy. Head to a Superspeedway Track in a Single Player Race after turning off the Cautions. When the race starts, drive backwards and crash into another car to get your car off the ground. Pause the race and go to Photo Mode. Press :cross: to get your airborne photo. Once the image is saved, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/752.jpg Long Road Back (B)

Win a Public Online Race after qualifying last.

This is a tricky trophy to get because it is unobtainable through "Quick Race". You need to set your own lobby and choose "Q+R" Race Type. Doing that so, you can hope that a person will jump in your lobby. Once the session begins, just do a lap slower than your opponent and beat him to the finish line when the race begins. You can easily boost this trophy with a partner, check the Boosting Thread to find players.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/025.jpg Consistent (B)

Win a Gauntlet Invitational event.

Gauntlet Challenges are Invitational Events you'll come across during your Career. This event consists of 2 races. In the 1st Race you’ll start in the middle of the field (22nd). From there you need to climb up as many positions as you can and finish the race. In the 2nd one your starting position is decided by the position you finished the previous race (if you finish 2nd in the 1st race, you'll start 42ns in the next one etc). Again, slice your way through the field and try to finish in the best position you can. The winner is the person with the best Average Finishing Position and once you win the challenge, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/093.jpg Brainiac (B)

Answer 150 trivia questions correctly.

Τrivia Questions appear in the loading screen after a race is finished (not to be confused with the Track Pass one). Although you need some basic NASCAR knowledge, the questions are few (Approximately 50 different) so they will be repeated again and again thus making your work easier. Once a question spawns, you'll have 10 seconds to answer and 3 answers to choose from. You can select the answer you want by pressing :cross:, :circle: or :square:. If you're following my Roadmap then you should get this trophy near the end of your 2nd Career Season.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/9DA.jpg Director (B)

Save a replay of a race.

This is another very simple trophy. Once you finish a race choose "Save Replay" before heading to the menu, the trophy will pop once the save is complete.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/B85.jpg Gear Head (B)

Create your own custom setup.

Before every race, qualifying or practice you'll be able to choose your garage options. From there go to "Tuning" and choose to "Create A New Setup" or "Edit Current Setup". Just tweak something or create your very own setup. Once you're done save your setup by pressing :start: and "Save Setup", once the save is completed, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/A35.jpg Lap It Up (B)

Lap an opponent in a Public Online Race.

This is a tricky one to get. As the title says, you need to lap an opponent in an Online Race. Many of the people you'll meet Online will quit when they're in trouble so you need to be really lucky to earn this alone. I got this in an Online Race at Watkins Glen as Road Courses offer you the best possibility to lap a person. This trophy as well is boostable so check out the Boosting Thread to find some players to help you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/2EA.jpg Maxed Out! (S)

Fully upgrade your Career Car.

During your Career you'll need to buy upgrades in order to raise your car's performance and earn more wins. Those upgrades consist of:

-Engine Upgrades (Greatly Affects Horsepower)

-Transmission Upgrades (Greatly Affects Handling)

-Brake Upgrades (Greatly Affects Handling & Tyre Wear)

-Chassis Upgrades (Greatly Affects Weight & Aerodynamics)

-Developmental Packs (Slightly Affects Car’s Overall Performance)

You'll need 5,090,000Cr to purchase everything, you should have everything before you finish your 1st Career Season. Once you purchase your final upgrade, the trophy will pop.

NOTE: You don't need to purchase absolutely everything, just the final upgrade from each category (excluding the Developmental Packs).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/7D4.jpg Serious (B)

Win a race with no assists.

Another relatively easy trophy. Before you enter the race, you'll find yourself into the pits. A menu called "Change Assists" will pop. Just turn off every single assist and you should be good to go. Try to get this trophy in Career Mode in a Superspeedway as they're easier to handle. Once you win the race, the trophy will pop.

-Race Shop Items

-Pro Drivers Setups

-Pin Packs

-Decal Packs

-Custom Schemes

You'll need over 15,000,000Cr to purchase everything. You'll earn this trophy near the end of your 3rd Career Season. If you still need some money, just do some races on Easy in Career Mode and you should be good to go. Once you make your final purchase, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/97E.jpg Hustler (B)

Win a Public Online Race after passing 5 cars on the last lap.

By far the hardest trophy in the game. You need to move 5 spots in the last lap of an Online race and win. If you are good at NASCAR online racing it won't be a huge problem but if you’re not good you need to hope that the opponents in front will spin each other. While this trophy is tough, that doesn't mean it can't be boosted so search the Boosting Thread to find players to help you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/DC3.jpg Slippery (B)

Complete a race without touching another car.

This may sound hard but it's extremely easy. Start a race on Easy or Normal Difficulty with Qualifying enabled, head into the track and take Pole Position and you'll realise that your job from there is over. Just drive, make a large gap from the other cars (Something that should come naturally) and don’t make any contact with a car. Once you win the race, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/FEE.jpg The King (S)

Win the Sprint Cup in Career Mode while playing on Champion difficulty.

This is one of the hardest trophies in the game. If you’re following my Roadmap you'll be 100% ready to fight through this difficulty. However there are 2 different ways to earn this trophy and I'm going to explain them:

1) The Roadmap way: If you're following my Roadmap you'll be experienced enough in order to fight for the championship. Your primary target is to enter the Chase. From there, try to always qualify in the Top 10. Now if a race proves too bad for you, you can always restart and retry. Be patient and this hard-earned trophy will be yours.

2) The Trick way: This way is the most popular amongst the internet. Start the Championship on Champion difficulty but turn off the cautions, max out the tyre & fuel wear (4x) and put the Race Distance to 10%. While this way is not 100% guaranteed to give you a championship, it makes the championship really easy! If you have a fully upgraded car, you shouldn't have many problems on your way to the championship. Just make sure that you save fuel throughout the race so you'll avoid an unexpected pit stop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/A36.jpg Perfect Day (S)

Qualify in pole, lead all laps, win the race.

This may sound hard but it's an easy trophy that you'll earn at the start of your career. You need to take Pole Position, lead every single lap and eventually win the race. I got this trophy easily on the 4th Race of my 1st Career Season in Bristol as you can take the Pole easily. From there if you drive precisely it is almost impossible to lose the lead, this may happen to a different track for you but Short Tracks are recommended for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/9B8.jpg Gambler (B)

Run out of fuel and coast into pit road.

In order to earn this trophy, you need to run out of fuel while racing and reach the pit-road. Once you run out of fuel, you’re starting to lose speed until you come to a halt but if you reach the pit road you're safe. Simply start a race at a short track (Dover, Martinsville etc) with Fuel and Tyre Wear at 4x with 100% Race Distance. When the times comes and you run out of fuel, reach the pit road and the trophy is yours. If you fail to do so, rinse and repeat.

See Challenge Complete

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/B7F.jpg Challenge Complete (S)

Complete all the Inside Line Highlight Challenges.

"History can be rewritten", that’s what the challenges are all about. You need to change or relive famous moments from real NASCAR races from the 2011 and 2012 Season. The challenges are divided in 4 difficulties:

-Easy (You'll pass the challenge with no sweat!)

-Medium (You'll meet some trouble but there's nothing too difficult)

-Hard (Your techniques will be tested. You’ll lose lots of times)

-Very Hard (Real NASCAR Driving!)

As the difficulty raises, the Driving Assists are getting reduced. Also don't try to spin any drivers, because they are frozen to follow a decided path. It took me 3-4 hours to finish every challenge with numerous retries in some challenges (especially the Very Hard ones). If you follow my Roadmap you'll be 100% ready for every challenge, just stay calm and collected and you can pass every single challenge. Once you finish the final challenge, the trophy will be yours.

This is one of the very first trophies you'll earn. In NASCAR racing you can easily spin an opponent by simply bumping the side of his car and turning the opposite way. If done right the opponent will lose control of his car and spin, after that the trophy will pop.

Take part in 250 Public Online Races.

WARNING: The trophy title is misleading.

In order to obtain this trophy, you need to participate in 250 races overall (not only Online Races). If you are following my Roadmap then this trophy should come naturally near the end of your Road To Platinum. If you're still missing races, just run a few Quick Offline races and the trophy shall pop.

Slingshot to victory in the final straight.

This trophy is easily obtainable in Daytona or Talladega. In order to obtain this trophy you need to draft an opponent, overtake him at the finish line and win. This isn't too hard to achieve, just draft and opponent for the whole race and overtake him a few moments before the finish line. You can use this method in order to obtain the Photo Finish trophy as well.

Win a race after overtaking on grass.

This is another very easy trophy. Just start any race that has a grass surface and when you are close to overtake an opponent, put every tyre of your car in the grass and overtake him. Just proceed to win the race and trophy will be yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/8F6.jpg Polish Victory Lap (B)(H)

Complete a victory lap driving the opposite direction around the track.

Once you win a race, you'll be alone on the race track so you can celebrate your win by doing different show-off moves such as drifting etc. Instead of doing that just reverse your car and start driving on the opposite direction of the track. Once you pass the finish line, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1793/8F1.jpg Too Much! (S)(H)

Win the race after crossing the finishing line backwards.

This is considered to be a hard trophy as it demands from you, to finish a race driving backwards. The easiest way to do this is:

Start a race on Easy Difficulty with 10%+ race distance at Kansas or any Short Track. Just race, creating a 15+ second gap and when you are close to the finish line, slow down then turn around and cross the finish line driving on Reverse. If this done correctly then the trophy will pop.

Thank you ever so much for this guide, it's well written and going to help myself and many others to the (P) . I have just 1 question with the overtake on the grass trophy, have you a technique or rather a track to achieve this

Thank you very much :D

Well the best tracks for this trophy are

Daytona

Talladega

Just draft your opponent while playing on Easy (par example) and overtake him while on the grass. It's really easy as in lower difficulties the AI tends to be way too slow :p
