Jay_Cash
I played the trial a while back and it was like that, with no cutscenes. Then I just rented the disc version and noticed the cutscenes. Guess they just left it out of the digital version. Kind of dumb really. They shouldn't even make these alternate versions in the first place. I remember buying Burnout Paradise on the PSN after renting and playing the disc version for a long time. Had no idea the game saves wouldn't work. But whatever, I'm just rambling at this point lol. spyderman1
so i bought the disc version and got the platinum but i was wondering if the game is a different entity and would it give seperate trophies if i download the digital version as it's free on the store this month? so erm no you don't get anything for replaying this game as a digital download Edited June 9, 2012 by spyderman1 tested it out myself
FlareZero
Uhm, that's suck, oh well never mind, if I want to watch the cutscene I'll go to Youtube [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUMxOQCQWxY]Motorstorm Apocalypse Cutscenes Part 1 - YouTube[/ame] Edited June 9, 2012 by FlareZero
alexslykid
wow thats stupid. Oh well the cutscenes suck anyway, not missing out.
Figma
They obviously cut them out to make the file smaller for download, othervise there would be thread here about how it takes you a two days to download this game with crappy connection
Jaxical
Shitty... So all PS+ members miss out on the story... Balls!
Kakarot Blue
Thats kind of a major thing to leave out actually. Thought it didnt make sense when I was playing though.
GrieverLioness
Just started playing my free PSN+ digital copy yesterday and thought that it was missing something when the game just went from track to track with no explanation as to what was going on. This makes a lot more sense now. I'm sure they could have figured a way to reduce file size so they could include the story, but then that would take effort lol. Not really that bothered though to be honest.
lowempire
I knew about the lack of cutscenes before starting the game but to be honest I wasn't that bothered about them; I just wanted to get in there and race! There's always YouTube if I ever get curious!
SoPoF
Shitty... So all PS+ members miss out on the story... Balls! From what I've got so far, that's actually a bonus. "Story" ... LAWL! Still, kind of silly to cut them out. I got the gaem for free on PS+, but I hope the digital version was cheaper than the retail one.
kargorath
As I've been playing through I just thought there was no story, which seemed a bit odd. Glad to see this thread to know I've been missing something. I'm sure the story is no 'War and Peace' so I guess I'm not missing much!
Kakollukia
Lack of cutscenes is a disgrace, even if the story is not so important. How much space could they take? I don't think, that would be more than 1GB. So why Sony is selling/giving in PS+ an incomplete game?
PhunkSyndrome
couldnt care less about story on a racing game tbh.......
ElTequilla
And would you look at that.. if you check out the item in the PS Store, it actually says that the digital version is missing the cutscenes from the disc-version. Where does it say that, you ask? In the bottom of course.. I gotta agree with the others. That's simply a braindead decision to rip them out, and again how much space could they possibly add on to the existing file size? It's almost 7 GB's in the first place I checked out some footage of a playthru, and the cinematics seem to both bring some comic relief and load the next level while the movie is playing. It's not like the exclusion made the load times blazing fast in this digital version.
Griff1361
I have digital version and for some reason im not getting any of the multiplayer trophies, iv been playing private match with friend cos nobody is ever online. Not sure if that anything 2 do with it. Help if ya can thanks.
Kolm
There are no cut scenes but there's some text on the loading screens to tell the story. I used second controller and logged it in with my other psn account and I unlocked the first trophy. Don't know about the other trophies, only played one race so far. P3hmo6
good that there is 0 cut-scenes this doesn't need them I really like just the racing
DisturbedStu
To be honest I downloaded the digital copy and finished story mode without even thinking about cut scenes. Cut scenes in a racing game is pretty pointless anyway, the story can't be that interesting surely.
ElTequilla
I think it's a matter of principle for most people, including myself. And it's a weird thing to cut out
Light-and-magic
I don't really care for the cutscenes but I do think it's real bad they would cut it out without warning, I did notice that all there was in terms of 'story' was those little messages in the loading screens Also this probably isn't in any version, but it feels like the drivers should be yelling stuff, didn't they do that in previous motorstorm games? I mean right now it's like the only time you even know what driver someone is is if theyre on a bike, I don't see the point for the huge character roster :/
VazzVegas
Ah ha! No wonder i didn't know what was going on. I figured there was something missing but i didn't care since it's a racing game. I'd rather have the quicker download than pointless cutscenes in a racing game.
