Frxn
Monster World IV Estimated Difficulty: 5/10 (Personal: 1/10 with guide) See difficulty thread Approximate Time To 100%: 4-6 hours Trophy Breakdown: 9(B) 2(S) 1(G) 0(P) Offline: 9(B) 2(S) 1(G) Online: 0 Missable Trophies: Yes, see guide Minimum Playthroughs Needed: 1 Difficulty Affects Trophies: No difficulty select Glitched Trophies: Refreshment Cheats Disable Trophies?: No cheats, all known glitches for the Mega Drive version seem to have been patched in this release Monster World IV is a Japanese title released for SEGA Mega Drive in 1994. You play as Asha, a young green-haired girl who is able to hear the pleas of the Elemental Spirits coming from Monster World, so she adventures off to free them, adopting a pet monster she calls Pepe' along the way. Gameplay revolves around walking along a 2D landscape fighting a variety of monsters, as well as interacting with various people. Playing the game also requires Asha to utilize Pepe's abilities (holding will call Pepe, use + to throw him); such as clogging a lava geyser with his flame resistant body. Controls Being a Mega Drive title, the controls are very simple. and to move (If you tap the button before holding it, you will run. Likewise, when on a rope, applying this to will make you climb faster) to use something e.g door, person, vending machine to brings out your sheild/exit a door to attack to jump use pet to open your inventory, on an item to use it + to jump onto a rope + to drop down from a platform Also worth noting is that the conversion for Mega Drive's buttons are A = , B = and C = Missables All miscellaneous trophies are technically missable, so it would be a good idea to have a look at their requirements before playing. Save your game! There is a save function within the game itself (2 slots), as well as a state-save function used by the emulator (99 slots), I suggest you make use of state-saving as frequently as possible as you can save at any time. Having numerous save files will also allow you to go "back in time" and attempt to make a better approach to a boss or other enemy (keeping more lives) if you didn't do too well the first time. To save and load your games, simply press at any time and select save or load. You can use up to 99 slots.
Frxn
Trophy Guide http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg SEGA Games Are #11 (Missable) Watch the SEGA logo sequence. Simply start up the ROM from the main menu ("Start Game") and watch the SEGA logo, pressing will interrupt the sequence. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Be a Bit More Careful (Missable) Just started and you're already falling in pits! At the beginning of the game, just walk to the left and you'll fall off the cliff, the trophy will pop shortly after. You will also lose a life by doing so. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/CFB.jpg Jackpot (Missable) Collect 777 gold and see what happens. Apparently you cannot unlock this once you've finished Tower of Silence (unconfirmed). Simply pick up the coins dropped by defeated enemies, You need to get exactly 777 gold coins, then "something happens" (contained in spoiler), apart from getting a trophy . I got this during Tower of Silence, however you can farm most enemies by leaving and revisiting a screen. Thanks to majinreid for the following tip: Maybe it's obvious, but if you manage to get xx77 gold, you can always just go back to town and sell and buy your shield or armor over and over again until you get down to 777 gold. Just remember to save first so you can just reload back into your area once you've got the trophy. [spoiler=777]Your gold is increased to 7777 http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Such Agility (Missable) Land 3 consecutive downthrusts without touching the ground. There are a few times you'll be able to do this. A downthrust is when you jump, attack, and hold down. You must get three hits in a row in order to receive the trophy. The first place you can do this is on the first level, at the end of the second screen in the forest there're two of the fire-blob enemies, they take two hits each, but you might find it a bit hard to do here as they're not right next to each other. I got mine on the Moon Gate level, it has two groups of three of the electric blob enemies, and a group of four, making it very easy to get here. There are also shielded enemies later on standing next to a wall, with some of them you're able to perform a downthrust and "bounce" off them until you release the controls. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Refreshment (Missable) Wash your face in the spring at the Pyramids. After you have completed Ice Pyramid II, head back to the Sphynx. The Spirit will ask you questions as part of a quiz, make sure you answer incorrectly. Then head down to the spring (bottom left) to wash your face. The trophy should pop after the standard wait, however some have reported issues with this and it hasn't popped until they've started a new game. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Monster World Welcomes You (Missable) Find the "Welcome to Monster World" message. Once the final dungeon (Underground Fort) is unlocked, run to the tallest building in the town and speak to the man standing outside, he's the one that "forgot" his line all game. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/CFB.jpg Every Last Drop (Missable) Collect all the Life Drops. There are 150 life drops scattered around the game, it's important to get these as there is no back-tracking, once you complete a dungeon it's locked for the rest of the game. Some life drops you'll only have "one chance" to get, so make frequent saves and don't move on until you've collected all of them. Here is a list of the number of life drops in each area: Estafan Village - 11 Tower of Silence - 9 Rapadagna City - 20 Earth Gate - 4 Handera Volcano - 12 Rapadagna City - 0 Moon Gate - 7 Stream Sanctuary - 14 Rapadagna City - 5 Solar Gate - 2 Ice Pyramid I - 11 Ice Pyramid II - 6 Ice Pyramid III - 6 Rapadagna City - 9 Wind Gate - 3 Sky Castle - 20 Underground Fort - 11 Cla55y of X360A has created a list with the location of all life drops. Life Drop Collectable Guide - Xbox360Achievements.org http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Happy Earth Spirit Rescue the Earth Spirit Story-related. You will receive this at the end of the Handera Volcano boss fight. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Thankful Moon Spirit Rescue the Moon Spirit Story-related. You will receive this at the end of the Stream Sanctuary boss fight. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Delighted Sun Spirit Rescue the Sun Spirit. Story-related. You will receive this at the end of the final Ice Pyramid boss fight. Puzzle solutions: [spoiler=puzzle]Red Spell: ABCB = Blue Spell: BAAC = :square: White Spell: CACCCA = :circle: Black Spell: ACAAAC = :square: Statue Puzzle I: Turtle, Leopard, Owl, Swallow, Witch Statue Puzzle II: Swallow, Witch, Leopard, Owl, Turtle Statue Puzzle III: Owl, Witch, Turtle, Swallow, Leopard http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/DC1.jpg Cute Wind Spirit Rescue the Wind Spirit. Story-related. You will receive this at the end of the Sky Castle boss fight. In my opinion this was the hardest boss http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1548/3FE.jpg You Did it! Finish the game. Story-related. You will receive this after defeating Monster World IV's final boss. Remember to save as frequently as possible so if you mess something up it's just a matter of reloading the required save file. Golem (YouTube) has recorded a complete play-through, very useful if you get stuck at all during the game. He collects most, but not all of the life drops, so make sure to follow the guide for that as well if you want to get it done in a single play-through. TheCro
Just posting to confirm that I got the Jackpot trophy inside the earth gate area. Got it by pure chance, and it probably works after that, too.
NY_Madness
What a horrible experience, took me probably close to twice as long, I don't think anyone is going to finish it is under 6 hours. Thanks to the constant saving to make sure you don't mess up and miss a collectible life shard. Only trophy I had difficulty with really was "Such Agility" but then I realized I am supposed to hold the buttons down the entire time.
nyannyanexpress
Regarding the "Delighted Sun Spirit" spoiler: [spoiler=dss2]For the Ice Pyramid II statue puzzle, I had to flip the owl and the leopard for it to work. So... Swallow, Witch, Owl, Leopard, Turtle Overall, cheers for good work though; this was very easy to follow.
GothSnake
Collect 777 gold and see what happens. Apparently you cannot unlock this once you've finished Tower of Silence (unconfirmed). That trophie can be unlocked before the Tower of Silence... I did it in Estafan Village.
