Before you begin playing, please refer to the core game Roadmap for general information and tips on the game. There are highly-detailed in-game instructions for each table, which I always suggest you read, as easy goals will not be explained in the guide below.

As usual, all trophies must be done in a single game unless otherwise noted.

Achieve a top 5 local high score on Gorgar™

Log a score of at least 120,610 to get this trophy. The trophy doesn't unlock until the game ends.

Easy ball catches for this table:

  • Drain from the Eject hole – Let it bounce off the right flipper and over to the left, catch with left flipper (occasionally it may drop down to the left flipper, first, so pay attention)
  • Drain from the Snake Pit - Let it bounce off the right flipper and over to the left, catch with left flipper

This table is similar to Black Hole, in that there's not the traditional ramps and orbits you find on most modern pinball tables, so there's not much depth to the table in terms of gameplay. The playfield is wide open and filled instead with drop targets and bumpers of all kinds (most surfaces are bumpers / slingshots). As such, the ball can get out of control at times.

Note that this table does not have Ball Save. Once you lose it, it's gone. It also tilts easier than some of the others, so be careful. Never tilt it after you lose a ball – you will not get the end-of-ball bonus if you do so.

Pay attention to failed spinner shots – the ball can easily drain in the center. Also beware when the ball bounces between the lower slingshots (right above the flippers) – the ball will frequently drain through an outlane, usually too fast for you to react. In those cases only use a nudge if it's early in the ball and you don't have a lot of bonuses built up. You don't want to nudge a lot when you have all the end-of-ball bonuses as you might accidentally tilt, which will cost you all those points.

Complete the Standard Goals on Gorgar™

Goals you can get without trying:

  • Light the Spinner
  • Spell G-O-R-G-A-R
  • Shoot the Snake Pit to make Gorgar say, "Me Got You"

Goals you have to work at:

  • Light all three Jet BumpersThis has to be done on a single ball, because the bumper lights turn off when you lose a ball. Hit all letters in G-A-R to light a bumper. Do it two more times to light all three.

  • Score at least 300,000 points – The way to get lots of points on this table is to focus on two things: spelling G-A-R over and over (to light the Jet Bumpers) and spelling A-B-C in the upper rollovers to increase the end-of-ball multiplier. Catch the ball as often as you can, and always aim for the G-A-R drop targets in the middle. Let the ball do the rest of the work as it bounces around; G-O-R will light on its own for other bonuses without you having to focus on it, as will the 1-2-3-4 targets.

On Vita, the A in the upper rollovers is generally hard to hit – but you can usually get it from the plunger launch by using a power just a little less than max. On PS3 it's much easier to get, while B seems to be the troublesome one. Depending on which version you play, try for A (Vita) or B (PS3) on your first launch.

So focus on those two things every single ball (as everything resets between balls). Note that by the time you spell G-A-R 3-4 times, you'll probably have the Extra Ball lit in the Eject Hole on the left. Grab it if you can so you can extend your game and score more points.

If you don't get close to 100K on the first ball, you might as well restart the game (especially when working towards 550K for the Wizard Goal). You are almost guaranteed to lose one ball quickly during the game.

Complete the Wizard Goals on Gorgar™

Goals you can get without trying:

  • Advance the bonus to its maximum
  • Earn 50,000 points from the Snake Pit

Goals you have to work at:

  • Earn an Extra Ball – This involves spelling G-O-R-G-A-R three times. It's not too hard to do it once, but 3 times will come once you get a decent game going. Once you do this, Extra Ball will light at the Eject Hole (left middle of the playfield, flashing red light). Hit it to get the goal.

  • Earn the Special at 1-2-3-4 targets – This is the hardest goal on the table. At least your progress carries over from ball to ball. The 1 is on the left side of the table, below the Eject Hole. 2-3-4 are on the right side, in the middle. To light the Special, you have to complete 1-2-3-4 three times. Once that occurs, one of the arrows in front of the targets will be lit. That's the Special. Hit the target with the lit Special to earn it.

Unless you're really good at this table, the best way to get this is to actually not try for this one. The targets pretty hard to hit from caught positions on the flippers. Instead, simply use the strategy for high scoring (in the 300K Standard Goal) and you will light 1-2-3-4 multiple times as you're playing.

  • Score at least 550,000 points – Like the Standard Goal of 300K, you simply have to dig in, maximize points in the same manner and get a good game going. See the 300K goal for details.

Achieve a top 5 local high score on Monster Bash™

Log a score of at least 12,222,510 to get this trophy. The trophy doesn't unlock until the game ends.

Easy ball catches for this table:

  • (Vita only) Drain from right orbit – Easy catch on raised right flipper.
  • Drain from the Black Lagoon – Let it bounce on the left flipper and over to the right, raise right flipper to catch.
  • Drain from the Black Lagoon – Catch with raised left flipper.
  • Drain from the Concert Hall Scoop – Let it bounce off the left flipper and around the table. It will almost always come to a stop on the right flipper, where you can catch it. Occasionally this will fail, though, so be careful. It usually won't bounce off the left flipper the second time if you get a Phantom Flip letter (watch the DMD).

This is a pretty fun table. You can get really long games going on this one, as it doesn't drain constantly (compared to a table like Gorgar). This is one of the few tables where you can activate the Wizard Mode (Monsters of Rock) without really trying, if you play long enough.

Extra Balls are easy to come by, and none of the features are that hard to hit. Always cycle the indicators in the D-I-G rollover using the flippers whenever the ball is up there.

Complete the Standard Goals on Monster Bash™

Goals you can get without trying:

  • Light Phantom Flip
  • Activate Monster Mosh Pit
  • Earn an Extra Ball

Goals you have to work at:

  • Score an Instrument Bonus – To score the Bonus, you have to acquire a monster's instrument first. That can be done by completing any of the 6 Monster modes. See the in-game instructions for details on completing each mode. Once you acquire one, Left and Right Ramps, along with both Loops, will be lit for a Bonus. Hit one of these to score the Bonus and get the goal.

  • Activate Monster Bash – This is not too hard because you simply have to collect all 6 Monsters on the table. Collecting them is easy; just start each Monster's mode. See the in-game instructions for details on that. You will activate many of them without really trying, and none are particularly difficult to activate.

Once you have collected all 6 Monsters, the game will tell you that Monster Bash is lit. Shoot the Concert Hall Scoop to activate it and get the goal.

Complete the Wizard Goals on Monster Bash™

None of these goals are easy.

  • Score a Mosh Super Jackpot – This is scored during the Monster Mosh Pit. Get that started as normal. To get a Super Jackpot, hit the Center Ramp (the Frankenstein one) 10 times during the Multi-Ball. It's a little easier to do when you only have 2 or 3 balls in the Multi-Ball; you can get two more balls added to the Multi-Ball if you hit the Mosh Pit Lane, but with 4 balls most of the time they hit each other in the center of the table and ruin planned shots.

Best way to do this is to hold a ball or two on the left flipper, then shoot the Center Ramp with another ball on the right flipper. After you hit it, it will come right back down to the right flipper, where you can easily hit it again.

  • Score a Triple Super Jackpot – This is scored during Frankenstein Multi-Ball (Frankenstein's mode to collect his instrument). Super Jackpots are scored in this mode when you the Center Ramp. However, don't hit it right away – you need to increase it to a Triple Super Jackpot. Do this by hitting the Mosh Pit Lane, either Ramp or either Loop. Hitting them five times before you hit the Center Ramp will increase the Super Jackpot to a Triple. Now you can hit the Center Ramp to get the goal.

This is essentially how you get his instrument (Keyboard), as you need 6 Super Jackpots to get it. The Triple counts as 3.

  • Collect the Special – The Special is another way to get an Extra Ball, and it's a bit hard. To light the Special you have to collect at least 4 Monster Instruments. Once you do, it will be lit in one of the outlanes. Hitting the slingshots (above the flippers) alternates which lane is lit. To collect the Special (and get an Extra Ball), let the ball drain into the lit outlane. Deliberately getting it to drain in the lit outlane on a single ball may take a few tries – especially on this table, where it doesn't drain through the outlanes often. Your best chance is to nudge it in or get a Multi-Ball going.

  • Activate Lyman's Lament – To do this, shoot the Concert Hall Scoop 44 times in a single game. This is tough, and will take a while. You'll have to focus on it specifically; hoping you'll hit it 44 times during a regular game will require playing for 30+ minutes and getting a number of Extra Balls.

The best way to get it is to always shoot for the Scoop when you catch the ball on either flipper. You can usually hit it with a caught ball on the right flipper. Drop the flipper, then shoot the ball a second later, sending it straight up. When the ball drains from the Scoop, you can usually catch it on the right flipper as noted in the Monster Bash High 5 trophy.

To check on your progress towards this goal, hold a ball on the flipper and wait for the Status Report to appear on the DMD. Eventually it will show how many hits you have.

Note that the in-game instructions provide a cheat code to activate Lyman's Lament on your first ball. Using this cheat code will not give you the goal – you have to do it legit. :(

  • Activate Monsters of Rock – For this, you must activate all 6 Monsters and complete their modes. Instructions for activating and completing each Monster's mode is detailed in the in-game instructions, so I won't repeat them all here.

Suffice to say, it's not as hard as it seems. The trick to doing this is to stack the modes, activating more than one at a time. This turns off any individual mode timers, making it easier to complete them, since a single shot can count towards multiple modes. And if you have a Multi-Ball going as part of that, it makes it even easier.

Another thing that helps are Monster Bombs. These can be used toward a hit in completing a Monster mode. You get them as awards for various things – they are detailed in the in-game instructions. An easy way to get one is to make a Skill Shot when you launch a ball – use the flippers to move the flashing D-I-G letter to the rollover the ball travels down. Any Bombs you have will be lit on the table, above the Monsters themselves. Hit :cross: while in a Monster's mode to use their Bomb... basically, just press :cross: every time you activate a new Monster mode, there's no reason not to.

You won't lose your Instrument collection if you start Monster Bash – that will simply wipe out your Monster activations, but those are easy to collect again. Note that you can complete activated modes within Monster Bash, so it may help to finish off an Instrument or two.

Once you have Monsters of Rock lit (after completing all 6 Monster modes), hit the Concert Hall Scoop to activate the mode and get the goal. Enjoy all your points!

Just an fyi, since it's not mentioned in the in-game instructions: For the Monster Bash wizard goal "Score a Mosh Super Jackpot", the amount of loops completed gets reset when you sink the ball(s), unlike most progress-based things on the table. You HAVE to do all 10 Frankenstein loops during a single multiball session.

So if you are, like me right now, going specifically for that goal, if you fail, you may as well just restart, rather than going for the next Monster Mosh Pit which is at 24 center loops.

Thanks for the guide. I recorded a vid of what I think is the hardest goal on the Monster Bash table: Mosh Super Jackpot. I thought Cirqus multi-balls were annoying, but this one sucked even more. Your tip with using only 2 balls was good. In my winning attempt I only got 1 loop done when I had 3-4 balls, the rest was done with only two. Trying to hold them as much as possible helps. Lucked out too on my 10th loop, as I just drained the last multi-ball when I scored it:
