INTRO

The game is not linear, so the steps to achieve the platinum can be done in any order, and how you achieve each trophy can be different as there are several methods to get many of them. This road map will provide a simple layout for those looking to get started and aid in not missing Make The Call... Again and RTTS: The Future. Once you get past the second season in the minor leagues, you can't go back without starting a new RTTS and once you get to the Major Leagues you can't get invited to the futures game.

I uploaded a team called "Wozamils Trophy Team" on May 1, 2010 into the roster vault that can be downloaded. Access the roster vault under Community from within the online Sports Connect. This team, when selected, can be used to get Contender, Pennant Race, and Victory Is MINE!, Road Warrior, and Killer Monster. This will save time on editing teams yourself. See each trophy description for more info. If you do download it, please vote it with a thumbs up.

"Glitches"

In the event that you encounter the rare (but possible) glitch of a trophy not popping, follow this easy work around:

Backup your save data. Any USB flash drive should suffice. Uninstall the game data and reinstall. After reinstalling the game, copy back your save data. Trophy should pop the next time. Glitches are not common, but will happen with RTTS Back-to-Back and in much more rare cases, Unassisted. Be sure that you're doing the trophy correctly before thinking it's glitched. Many people mistakingly think Unassisted is glitched because the trophy didn't pop when their second baseman turned an unassisted double play.

Steps

Step 1 - RTTS: Catcher. Start a catcher in RTTS mode. Make it your priority to obtain the following trophies ASAP: Timing Is Everything, Call It, and the secret trophy Stolen Thunder. After getting those you can simulate the rest of your career. Your next goal is RTTS: The Future and Make The Call... Again before you finish your second season. You can then continue this career and work on Professional Trainer, RTTS Derby, Mr October, and RTTS Back to Back. I recommend starting a new career as a first baseman for RTTS Back to Back.

Step 2 - RTTS: Pitcher. Start a new RTTS as a pitcher. Make sure pitching difficulty is set to All-Star. This is pretty straight forward. While there are many trophies related to pitching, the only ones required while in RTTS is Sim Game and RTTS Road Warrior.

Step 3 - Season. Start a season and set it up with 1 inning games. Simulate the first 82 games. Then go for Around the World . Once that's over it's smooth sailing for the next three trophies: Contender, Pennant Race, and Victory Is MINE!

Step 4 - Online Trophies. There are three online trophies. All of them can be easily achieved by hooking up with a boosting partner or using the league sign up threads.

Step 5 - Wrap Up. It's time to start working on all the random trophies. Most of these are either Home Run Derby trophies, or trophies that can be done in Exhibition games. Hamilwho? and Unassisted are the ones that you will spend a lot of time trying to get. Road Warrior will require you to start another season.

RTTS Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/10.jpg Timing Is Everything (B) Call a pitchout on a steal attempt in any RTTS game.

As a catcher, put a runner on base. With 2 outs, get to a 3-2 count. Call a pitchout and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/12.jpg Call It (B) Call a 'Quality Start' as a catcher in any RTTS game.

Adjust sliders so that the CPU has no power or contact. To qualify for a quality start, the starting pitcher must go 6 innings with 3 runs or less. Trophy will pop at the end of the game

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/11.jpg Stolen Thunder (H)(B) Throw out two runners attempting to steal a base in any RTTS game.

Before doing this trophy, complete Timing is Everything.

Before starting:

Edit the Dodgers AA team. Increase their Baserunning Ability, Baserunning Aggressiveness, and Speed. Don't increase their Speed all the way, but if they don't have any they won't steal as often. Turn on the Slow Run trophy award and start RTTS catcher with the Brewers. Adjust sliders to max Baserunning Ability and Frequency and reduce the Speed of Baserunners.

When you get your first start intentionally walk batters and they should be quick to steal second. You will throw them out with ease. Do it twice in the same game and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/02.jpg Caught Lookin' (B) Strike out a CPU player looking on All-Star or higher difficulty.

Get a strike out with the CPU not swinging at the third strike. This will come naturally during your RTTS pitcher career.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/09.jpg Make The Call... Again (B) Get called up to a Major League team before the end of your second year in RTTS.

Adjust sliders so you have max Power and Contact.

The key is not to miss any training goals. The ones that increase the attribute stats are important. You can miss the others. To get this the fastest, select first base and simulate every game. If you go 3-4 or 2-4 with a home run, save your RTTS from the save menu. If you go 0-4, don't save the game and reload your RTTS. The better your attribute stats, the longer period you can simulate. For example, if you buy training points from the PS store, and max out your power and contact numbers from the beginning, you can simulate 1-2 weeks at a time and have good stats. If you don't, you may have to do this one day at a time. Just remember to reload any cold streaks your player may have.

At the start of your second season, you should be in AAA. Most likely, you'll get called up in September if your stats are MVP quality and didn't miss your training goals. About 2 weeks before the end of the AAA season, create a save point.

If you don't get the call, and your player is having an MVP type year you can go back to your save point you created and replay the final two weeks. Keep doing this and you'll eventually get the call. I had to restart 5 times from that save point.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/13.jpg RTTS: The Future (B) Get invited to the All-Star Week Futures Game at any position in RTTS.

Adjust sliders so you have max Power and Contact. Easiest to achieve while being any position other than a pitcher. Do the simulate game trick from Make The Call....Again trophy and this should be easy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/14.jpg Professional Trainer (S) Complete a RTTS batting session without receiving a single attribute penalty.

When given the option to do a RTTS batting session, either take every pitch or bunt every pitch. Either method will prevent a penalty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/15.jpg RTTS Derby (S)Get invited to the HRD with any RTTS player.

Be among the league leaders in Home Runs and you'll get an invitation to the HRD. Use the same method of simulating games described in the Make the Call... Again trophy description to get the invite without playing any games.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/16.jpg Mr. October (S) Achieve the following stats with any RTTS player: .350 AVG, .450 OBP, .755 SLG.

Again, use the method of simulating games described in Make the Call... Again and you should have no issues getting this trophy. Having high Power helps the Slug %, and high Discipline and Vision helps the OBP. This trophy can pop in September.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/38.jpg RTTS Back-To-Back (B) Hit consecutive home runs in one game with your RTTS Player.

In consecutive at bats, hit two home runs. I created a third RTTS career for this trophy and simulated all the way to the Major Leagues, at which point my player had more than enough power to hit back-to-back home runs.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/07.jpg Sim Game(B) Do not allow a run in any RTTS simulated game training.

While a pitcher in RTTS, you will get a 3-inning training game simulation. The batters hit at a much higher difficulty level so mix it up and don't be afraid to pitch out of the zone. If you don't get it the first time, don't worry, there are many opportunities.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/08.jpg RTTS Road Warrior (B) Win 8 out of 10 starts on the road in RTTS on All-Star or higher difficulty.

Do not skip any games, home or away. You cannot fast forward either. You must play the games. If you have a bad first couple innings or you find yourself on the losing end at the end of the game, hit the :ps: button and quit out of the game. You will then be able to replay the entire game.

Season Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/28.jpg Around the World (B) Play a game in every Major League stadium.

Play Season Mode and at the beginning of every game you can select a stadium. Start at the top of the list and work your way down. It will work with 1 inning games*, however, you cannot fast forward.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/19.jpg Victory Is MINE! (G) Win the World Series. (Simulating any games in the postseason will negate the trophy. Cannot simulate more than 82 games prior to making the postseason.)

You can play the game normally and get this. To get it quickly you can start a season, take your team of choice and edit the starting lineup stats to max. Edit your pitchers as well. To save time, you can download "Wozamils Trophy Team" from the roster vault and play as the Angels. Simulate the first 82 games.

Once you start having to play the games, make sure you don't simulate any more games. Once each game starts, hit pause and select fast forward to end of the game. Do this for every remaining game and the entire post season. You will unlock Contender, Pennant Race, and Victory is Mine!

It'll take about 2.5 hours total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/22.jpg Online Fame (S) Reach 500 MLB Points.

Play games online and reach 500 points. Most games it's +10 points for the win, -10 points for losing, unless you play someone of much higher level than you. You can spend 50-100 hours online getting this......or you can boost it in 5-10 hours by visiting the boosting thread HERE.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/23.jpg Much Cooler This Year... (G) Join and complete an online league. (Must play 60% of the games).

Find a league in this thread HERE.

I recommend finding a 6 person, 1 series, round robin league. If no one is looking for more players, I suggest starting one yourself.

Miscellaneous Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/03.jpg Back-To-Back (B) Hit back-to-back home runs in any mode (Excludes HRD and Practice).

If you're having trouble with this one, go to edit player mode and give all your players max power.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/04.jpg Take It back (B) Rob a home run in any game mode.

There will be a red circle at the base of the wall. When the circle reaches it's smallest, hit :r1:. You can play with 2 controllers and pitch yourself fastballs down the center of the plate. Edit the opposing team and give them power ratings around 80. Adjust sliders for max Power. Increase fielder Speed and activate Fast Run trophy award if you have it unlocked.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/24.jpg Tres Bien (B) In any mode, have a three-pitch inning with any pitcher versus the CPU.

Select an Exhibition game. Select 1 inning game length. Be the Visitor team. When the CPU is at bat, throw 2 balls out of the zone followed by a meatball right down the middle. Allow the runner to get an inside the park home run. Keep your fielders away from the ball with the :l2: button

*Credit to Ultramagnus1780

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/25.jpg Sawed Off (B) In any mode, break the hitter's bat.

This should occur during your RTTS pitcher games. If not, Nolan Ryan on the Silver Era does a nice job. Best achieved with fastballs inside, just off the plate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/27.jpgDirector (B)Create and save a highlight movie using the Movie Maker feature.

During the game, go to Movie Maker from the pause menu. Find any play and hit :square: to select it then :cross: to advance. To quickly get the trophy, simply hit :triangle: to exit edit mode and hit :l3: to record. Don't hit any other button and the trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/29.jpg On the Rocks (B) In any mode, hit a home run into the rocks in left-center in Anaheim.

Select Home Run Derby from main menu, Babe Ruth as your player, and Anaheim as your stadium.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/30.jpg Basket Case (B) In any mode, hit a home run into the basket that lines the wall at Wrigley Field.

In Home Run Derby, hit the ball into the basket that hangs from the top of the outfield wall from left field to right field. A player with lower power rating is your best bet.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/31.jpg Monster Killer (B) Hit two home runs over the Green Monster in any single game played in Boston (Excludes HRD and Practice).

Edit any team to have max Power, or download "Wozamils Trophy Team" from the trophy vault and play as the Angels. Increase sliders to max Power. Select Fenway Park.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/32.jpg Bobbing For Apples (B) In any mode, hit a home run that hits the center-field apple at Citi-Field.

This is the most difficult of the home run trophies. Select a player with better than average power and aim for dead center field. The apple is in a box on the other side of the outfield fence. I did it a few times with Kevin Youkilis from Boston.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/33.jpg Splish Splash (B) In any mode, hit a home run over the RF wall into the water of the San Francisco bay.

Any power hitting left hander is a good choice, ie, Babe Ruth. Again, select Home Run Derby

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/34.jpg Scrap Metal (B) In any mode, hit a home run into the Western Metal Supply Company building in San Diego.

A power hitting righty is your best player in Home Run Derby mode in San Diego.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/35.jpg King Of The Hill (B) In any mode, hit a home run to dead center in Minute Maid Park.

Babe Ruth is a great choice to hit one out to center field while playing Home Run Derby.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/36.jpg Sight Seeing (B) In any mode, hit a home run off of the glass in center field at Rogers Centre.

Select Home Run Derby, and Babe Ruth once again. Just keep aiming for center and you'll get it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/37.jpg A Good Start (B) Strike out 15 batters in a single game in any mode versus the CPU.

Any pitcher can get this, but the best would be Nolan Ryan from the Silver Era team. Play an Exhibition game against a AA team. Adjust sliders for max Stamina and Accuracy. Let any pop flies drop and let all runners beat any throw to first to preserve outs. With Ryan, throw many fastballs and occassionally mix another pitch. But ride that fastball.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/42.jpg Choker (H)(B) In any mode, lose the game after inserting your closer with a two or more run lead in the 9th. (Must be a save opportunity).

Start a Franchise or Season game. As the visiting team, get a two run lead heading into the 9th. Put in your closer and intentionally walk each batter until you lose the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/39.jpg Pop Out (B) With the bases loaded in the 9th, get an infield pop-up to end the game.

With the lead, load up the bases with intentional walks once there are two outs. Save the game and get the next batter to pop up. This takes a little luck, but if you throw pitches up in the zone you can get the batter to swing under the pitch. Sliders up and in work well. If your lead is big enough and you keep the bases loaded you can keep trying without having to reload your saved game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/44.jpg Customizer (B)Customize any team's audio in Sounds of the Show.

Fairly simple, just go to Sounds of the Show under Options, change and save any of the audio options for an easy trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/05.jpg HRD (S) Hit 30 or more home runs with any single player in HRD.

30 Home Runs total through all rounds with a single player. Select 8 players, and skip to the next player if you're having a bad round.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/20.jpg Road Warrior (S)Have a 10-game road winning streak. (Simulating or fast-forwarding will restart the streak.)

This one doesn't have a quick method associated to it. You have to win 10 games on the road without skipping any home games or fast forwarding through games. You have to play full 9 inning games. Adjust sliders to give you better Power and Contact, and reduce CPU's sliders for the same as well as the pitching sliders on both sides.

Start a season with "Wozamils Trophy Team" roster selected if you downloaded it from the roster vault. Play as the Angels and skip to the first game of the long 10 game road trip that begins April 30th. If auto save is on, quit to the XMB before the end of the game if you're losing and you'll restart at the beginning of that game. If you haven't gotten Monster Kill yet, select Fenway Park.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/26.jpg Out Pitch (S) In any one-player mode, with any pitcher, strike out the side using the same pitch for each 'out' pitch.

Strike out the first three batters in the inning with the third strike pitch being the same each time. Nolan Ryan from the Silver Era team is a good choice. Select a minor league team to pitch against in an Exhibition game. Adjust sliders for the CPU by lowering Power, Contact, and Fouls. Use the fastball as your out pitch. Do not allow a runner to reach base.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/40.jpg Triple Play (S) Turn a triple play in any mode versus the CPU.

This is easier than it would appear. If you have gotten the Timing is Everything trophy, you now have a trophy award you can turn on from the main menu called Slow Run. Combine this with slider adjustments that include slower Baserunning and faster Fielder Speed. Now, just walk 2 runners and any ground ball to the left side of the infield should yield a triple play. If it's hit to third, tag the runner and throw to second. If it's to the shortstop, throw to third first. You should get the triple play in plenty of time. With this setup, a quadruple play would be easy if it were possible. If you have to, you can also edit the opposing team's Run Speed to zero.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/41.jpg Unassisted (S) Turn an unassisted double play in RTTS.

This trophy can drive you nuts. Contrary to the description, you don't actually turn the double play. You have to induce a double play as a pitcher. There are two methods to get this and please post a reply with which one worked best for you.

First method:

Before creating a RTTS pitcher, go edit every first baseman in the Yankees system and give every one of them max Fielding and Reaction. After saving this newly created roster start a new RTTS pitcher and select this saved roster. Don't select current or default. During your first start, intentionally walk batters when you have no one on first. Then to every batter, throw fastballs on the far left side of the strike zone as you face the batter. Don't move it up or down, just left. Works best with right handed batters. Use the following slider adjustments

CPU Max Solid Hits

CPU Minimum Power

Global Minimum Fielding Errors

Global Minimum Baserunner Speed

Global Max Fielder Run

Global Max Fielder Reaction

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W-METUY6n4]YouTube- MLB 10: (TRN at ERI) h2hoes Lined Into an UNASSISTED Double Play![/ame]

Second method:

Load the bases with one out, induce a pop up to your pitcher on a suicide squeeze attempt and tag the runner heading home from third. Follow this advice to get the right conditions required to pull it off:

If anyone is having trouble with this trophy here's exactly what I did. First, I edited all the position players in the Braves' AA team to have 0 contact and power. Bunting around 50, and speed and BR aggressiveness maxed. Then I made a Closing Pitcher for the Cubs. The Cubs and Braves AA teams play each other in the first series of the season. After that, it's just a matter of waiting to be put in the right situation, starting over if you have to. Walk the bases loaded, and the next guy will go for the squeeze about 75% of the time. Getting a pop-up should be a lot easier than trying to get a line drive to 1st. This only works in the 8th or 9th, with the game tied or your team leading by one.

Make sure to save your RTTS after character creation.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFP-6-_XzCo]YouTube- MLB 10 The Show "Unassisted" Trophy[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/43.jpg Crazy Eights (S) In the Knockout Pitch Training or Practice Mode, knock out all eight sections in eight pitches.

Select Practice Mode from the main menu and Knockout Pitch Training. All you have to do is hit each of the eight targets without missing a single one. Sounds easy, except there is little room for error. It almost requires near perfect release points. To increase your chances and to make this much easier, edit a player with Control maxed out, and Speed and Break at zero. If you get 20 strikes in a row (doesn't have to hit targets) you will get a fatter release point.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/06.jpg Hamilwho? (G) In HRD, hit 29 or more home runs with any player in a single round.

The hardest trophy in the game. It's one part skill and one part luck.

I used Ryan Howard (unedited) in New Yankee Stadium. I know many people prefer Stomp Ground because center is so short, but if you use Howard and have good timing you will hit the majority of your homeruns to right where Yankee Stadium is actually much shorter. For the record I did not hit a single homerun to the left of dead center. Sliders DO affect HRD and here are how mine were set:

USER:

Contact: MAX

Power: MAX

Timing: MAX

Fouls: MIN

Solid Hits: MAX

CPU: (for all the good it does)

Pitcher Control: MAX

Pitcher Consistency: MAX

Strike Frequency: MAX

GLOBAL:

Pitch Speed: MIN

(This one was crucial for me. It slows down the pitches and gives you an extra second to react. This will allow you to judge the truly unhittable pitches and lay off of them (up, up and away, in the dirt, breaking down and in are the four main ones that should be avoided)

All I can say is to be patient. I didn't take many pitches but I took a few. When I got to 22-7 and then made an out I put down the controller and took a few deep breaths, let 4 or 5 go buy then hit four straight before making another out. For the last three I just waited for perfect pitches, hit X and prayed.

For the record :ls: has absolutely no affect.

My only other piece of advice is to calm the f*** down. I played over 1000 rounds of HRD (including rounds where I made an out right away and restarted) and it always had me throwing s***. This time I played with a total calm over me. I played about 30 rounds tonight before getting it and was calm the whole time. Try not to jump out of your skin when you start to get to the twenties, it will mess with your timing. Hang in there fellow tortured souls. I wish you all the best of luck!

The most important part of all that is the last paragraph. That is the reason most people fail. After getting this trophy, I have been able to reproduce it several times with ease because my heart rate doesn't increase like it used to.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/330/01.jpg 100% Clear (P) This is the platinum trophy and is unlocked automatically when all trophies have been unlocked.

Have the wrong picture for RTTS: Road Warrior

A good trip to make the call in your first year is to edit the team you select to play with. If you are going to be a 1st baseman, then edit your teams 1B to the lowest possible rating for MLB, AAA, and AA, along with editing players who have 1B as a secondary position to blank. Then after midway through your 1st season you should get the call as you are the highest ranked 1B in your teams system. Just make sure if your team makes a trade for a 1B than go back and re-load your career. That what i did.

MOST OF ALL AWESOME WORK!!!!GREAT GUIDE:applause:

Thanks for the credit but you got my name wrong. 1226 (my DOB) not 1126

Also, you should mention that your odds of being invited to the futures game go way up if your player is not US Born

So can I get credit for the Trey Bien??? Also, for noting that the stadium will work with one inning games....??? lol

I'm not sure I buy the whole US born thing. I've tried it both ways and it didn't seem to change the chances of being invited to the game.

Well there is no other reason for the option. I played a career as a first baseman, by my second season I still hadn't been invited despite MVP-type numbers. Hitman3315 told me to change my guy to non-US born. I reloaded to five days before the ASG and changed it, this time I was invited.

A lot can change when reloading old saves. Four straight times I didn't get called up to the major leagues. But the fifth time I got called up. Sometimes things are just random and reloading saves does the trick. I always recommend reloading previous saves to big events such as this and try it again. For some reason, I fail to believe the programmers intentionally handicapped foreign born players.

FYI, I had a foreign born player make it to the Futures game in his first season. I'll do some testing on this. I'll take a US born player with borderline stats and keep reloading a save a week before the game and see what happens.

Well there is no other reason for the option. I played a career as a first baseman, by my second season I still hadn't been invited despite MVP-type numbers. Hitman3315 told me to change my guy to non-US born. I reloaded to five days before the ASG and changed it, this time I was invited.
I got invited to the Futures game when i had 40 homeruns, and a .650 average lol.

I hope somebody discovers a quick and easy strategy for "unassisted" because I've been trying for hours to get it as a pitcher. There's been about 5 times the ball went right to 1B but he missed the runner by a hair each time.

I actually got this a couple times last night while playing season mode for Road Warrior. Which is to bad since it only counts in RTTS. So I don't know how this would translate in RTTS.

I had a left handed pitcher with a pretty good slider. Against right handed batters I would throw a slider starting off the plate and it would curve back towards the edge of the strike zone belt high. If the the CPU hit the ball it almost always heads towards first base or fouled to the right.

I'm assuming your playing in the Major Leagues where the hitters and fielders are better. You would have better success here than you would in the minor leagues. I can also assume you increased fielder speed and decreased baserunner speed. You probably already decreased the speed of an opposing team in the edit a player options as well and are replaying the same team as well.

Again, this was in season mode and not RTTS so I don't know if it would work the same. Since this is your last trophy I'm just trying to help the best I can
