This is a slightly edited version of ErmacVersion1's guide. It has been reproduced with his permission.

Ninja Mountain

  1. In a canyon past your house. Go forward and all the way to the left and you'll see the small canyon. The statue is on the ground along the right wall.
  2. When you get to the dojo, jump in the water and go in a clockwise pattern. You'll see a rock in the water and a small isolated section of land. The Jizo statue is on it.
  3. Just before having to use the wall jump the first time, there is a Jizo statue behind a rock on your left.
  4. Once you get the detect kuji shrine spell, look to your left and you will see a path that wraps around the inside of 2 rock formations. Follow it till you see a ledge, the statue is on the ground before the ledge.
  5. As soon as you get to the rope bridge you must balance across, instead of going across drop down beneath it and the
statue will be right under you near a thick patch of grass and the ledge wall.
  6. Once you leave Ninja Village and you head towards the mountain, you'll see a long wooden bridge. Once you reach the end, drop down near the water below. On your left there will be a small alcove past a bird walking around. The statue is in there.

Leaving Home

  1. Once you enter the village there will be a small hut on your left by the Tengu. Inside the hut is the statue.
  2. On the long path after the village, on the left side of the path about halfway up to the area with the brown bear, there will be a Jizo statue tucked in the grass. Just stick to the left side of the path and you should see it. If not, use your spirit form to take over an animal and look for the blue smoke coming from it. I myself missed this and has to backtrack for it.
  3. Once you free and take control of the bear, head North from the bear cage to a small cave. After entering the cave, look left to see the Jizo statue.
  4. This one can easily be missed. After you get the Fireball spell, jump up on the ledge above the shrine. You'll see a waterfall to your left and just to the right of that is the Jizo statue. It is a pain to see if you don't know it's there.
  5. This one is a bit hidden and can be eaily missed. Go up the path to the forest temple and when you reach the Kengu at the hut, go left behind the house.
In the brush and very hidden is the statue. If you can't see it, look near the big breakable pot.
  6. After you leave the forest temple, go down the steps and head right to the rapid water. Steer your hat-boat down avoiding the rocks and after a brief ride, you'll come to an open area. You'll see 2 breakable pots, a checkpoint marker, and in the back is the 2nd spell (Tornado) for this area. To the right of the spell, next to the anemone flower, is the Jizo statue.
  7. From the previous statue, continue down the rapid water until you reach the large lake. Look for the first bit of land on the left. Use the wall jump area to reach the next ledge up. Pick up the stone cap and look to your right and you will see the Jizo statue on the ground behind some small trees.
  8. From there jump back in the water and head right. You will see a small piece of land with a frog on it. Jizo statue 8 and a ginseng root await you there.

Earth Castle

  1. After the level starts, go left into the giant open area and at one point you should see a big boulder with a lot of broken trees forming 2 small circles in front of it. The Jizo statue is in the first ring.
  2. On the main path to the castle, you will come to a sunken area of the path. Just before you reach the elevated part of the path again, you'll see the statue on the right side of the path across from the lantern and beside 2 large rocks.
  3. When you enter the castle, go right and you'll see it across from the caged fox.
  4. Once you beat the big samurai and enter the next area, use the checkpoint and go down the long hall on the left. Pass the steps to your left and the Jizo statue will be shortly ahead of you on the ground on the left.
  5. Across from the house with the 2 caged animals is a small house on your left. On the front side there is a small nook and here is where you will find the Jizo statue.
  6. From the previous caged animals, look right. You should see the Jizo statue tucked in a corner in plain sight.
  7. To the left of the stairs leading to the big door in the first archery range area.
  8. Upon entering the second archery range area, head all the way to the right. The last Jizo statue for this level is to the left of the last house on the right.

Great River Canyon

  1. On the main path, once you see the waterfall at the start and head left around the bend, the statue is in front of a bush on the left side of the path.
  2. After crossing the bridge you'll see 2 paths. Take the right path behind the waterfalls. Once you get a good way up and behind the waterfall, you'll see this Jizo statue right in front of you. This path also leads to the lightning storm spell.
  3. After getting the lightning spell, head back towards where you find the anemone flower for the kuji shrine. Across the rocks at the top of the waterfalls,
or right from where you climbed up the path to the shrine. On the 2nd rock ledge looking out over the waterfall, the statue is sitting right on it near the front. Use the lone rock from the right side of the cliff to jump to it.
  4. After you get to the samurai base camp, go to the very back where the tents are. After you destroy the back right most tent, the Jizo statue appears behind it.
  5. Shortly after the base camp, you must go across a large body of water. Just ahead on your left is a grove of trees you can shake. Near the middle of the trees is Jizo statue number 5.
  6. After getting the 2nd spell in the level, Camouflage, go right towards the lotus blossom tree. The last Jizo statue is on a rock to the left
    of the tree.

A Distress Signal

  1. After the cutscene with Shun, go up the left path. Go behind the house and the Jizo statue will be next to a breakable pot.
  2. Once you get Shun, and just before you go in the big door and into the large lake area, jump off the path to the left and you'll land in a small river. Just ahead of where you land, you'll find the Jizo statue on a rock.
  3. When you get to the giant lake area with the distress signals in the water, go right and look for a wrapping ledge. Walk up it and the Jizo statue will be in the middle of that ledge.

Haunted Forest

  1. Once you enter the area, walk to your right to the open area with all of the trees. Behind the 4th tree is the first Jizo statue.
  2. From where the Tengu is, head North and you'll see 2 paths. 1 going up a hill and the other going straight. Go straight and the Jizo statue will be beside a tree to your left a short ways ahead on the path.
  3. When you come to the first burning tree, you'll see a checkpoint to the right of it. Behind the checkpoint is an open path up a slight hill. Go this way and follow it until the end. Once at the ledge, drop down and the Jizo statue is to the left of the area beneath the ledge.
  4. Once you start up the Lost Soul's Path, "the creepy left path," on the right you'll see 3 large rocks. Behind them awaits the Jizo statue.
  5. Once you enter the graveyard, and the ghosts start to appear, take the right set of stairs and go to the back to the gazebo. Behind the gazebo is where you will find the final Jizo statue for this level.

Night Castle

  1. Once the level starts, go all the way to the right until you reach a giant barred door. Just to the left of the door, you will see Jizo statue number 1 for this level.
  2. After entering the log entrance to get into the castle, follow the path to the river. The Jizo statue is to your left right as soon as you reach the river.
  3. After exiting the well and entering a courtyard with a checkpoint, go right. You'll see a small stone tower with a Jizo statue on the top of it. Jump
up to the top of the tower and collect your prize.
  4. After reaching the 2nd checkpoint and entering the large area with a lot of enemies, head towards the 2 houses on the left and get to the roof. Then cross the lantern bridge and use your wall jump to get to the ledge above. Take the right path and you will find the Jizo statue.
  5. From where you got the last statue, go up the hill to your right and you'll see a lot of enemies. There is a set of yellow and brown doors to your right. Open them and the Jizo statue will be in the corner beside a red samurai.
  6. Once you reach the 3rd checkpoint and enter the huge area where all the large samurais are, go all the way to the left. Where the big samurai is on the left side of this area, hug the left most wall. There is a small hole in the wall that you can go into. Look immediately to your right and in the corner is the Jizo statue.
  7. This one can be a bit tricky. When you are first told to use the lantern ropes as walkways, do what you have to do to get to the first tall building with the crow's nest in the distance. From there, make your way to the 2nd tall building with a crow's nest in the distance. Once you get on top of the 2nd tall building, run around to the left side of the building and jump up to reach the next small roof. From there pull yourself up into the small crow's nest, and the Jizo statue will be right there. (Credit goes to Demon for helping me with this one)
  8. Once you get to the part with the large steps with archers all over it, go up the hill and when you can walk on the ledge to the right, do so. Take a left at the end and follow the ledge a good ways and you will come to an opening on your left. The Jizo statue is in there.

Grassy Hills

  1. When going towards the sonic boom spell, use your detect kuji shrine if you are having trouble, the statue will be on the right in a patch of grass against the rock face just before you get to the fallen tree bridge.
  2. After passing thru the first samurai camp, at the bottom of the short staircase to your left in the grass is where you will find this statue.
  3. Once you enter the valley of the waving grass, there is a checkpoint between two paths. Go left towards the small hut. Inside are 2 breakable pots and the Jizo statue.
  4. Once you've started down the right path, you'll see a few caged animals. Free them and head slightly North. Just ahead on the right of the path you will see this Jizo statue just sitting next to the dirt path.
  5. Once you get to the Waving Grass Temple, if you are facing away from the temple, go to the end of the left side of the steps. Not on the steps themselves, but on the raised platform to the left of it if you are facing away from the temple. The statue is sitting at the end of this bit of land.
  6. When going for the wall of wind spell, again use your detect kuji shrine spell to help you find it, the statue is sitting on the ledge just above where you picked up the anemone flower.
  7. After getting to the stairs to the old mountain road, follow the path until it splits into two paths. Go left first and go to the barred door. Once here, turn to the right and go up the small ledge and you will see the Jizo statue on the ground at the top of the ledge.
  8. After seeing the cutscene with the ambush, go left and destroy the archer tower. After you've done this, the Jizo statue is right behind it in plain sight.

Flooded Valley

  1. After you enter the rice fields, go all the way to the back. You'll see a hut that is partially flooded in the back left of the map. The Jizo statue is inside the hut next to a breakable vase containg a time bomb.
  2. Once you get to the temple, go past the first stream with the three rocks as stepping stones and at the end of the 2nd dirt path section, head right and look for an open stream with a few rocks in the middle. The Jizo statue is sitting on the right rock in plain sight.
  3. Once the koi drags you into the 2nd flooded area, look for a house that is fully flooded, but has a small opening in the roof that you can enter. Go inside it and the Jizo statue is on your right on a small wooden platform.

Water Castle

  1. After you get to the first checkpoint, you'll see 2 doors. Take the right door first. Go to the waterfall and jump across the gap. Jizo statue 1 is on the opposite side of the ledge.
  2. After fighting the guy who moves super fast, go to the open looking house with several caged animals inside it. Once you free them, go around behind the house and thru an open spot between the wall. In front of the tree you will see the Jizo statue.
  3. Once you get to the area with the large samurai and all the archers, climb up the left most wall as you come in and walk across the lantern bridge. Once on the other side, you'll be greeted by 3 enemies and the Jizo statue on the right of this small section.
  4. Once you come to an area with large steps ahead of you and the ground covered in water, look in the building to the right. It should be an open building. In the left most corner you will see the Jizo statue.
  5. When you start going up the steps with water coming down them, there will be a checkpoint right at the top left of the steps. Use it and then jump on top of it and jump over the short wall there to the other side. Once on the other side, you'll see the Jizo statue beside 2 fruit bushes.
  6. Just before the end of the level, you'll see another set of steps with water coming down it. Just across from the base of the steps in the last Jizo statue for this level. Just jump across the gap and grab it.

Winter Range

  1. When you get to the fork in the road, very early in the level, go right. The Jizo statue will be just to your left before reaching the Tengu who needs a tiger lily to make his bombs.
  2. After clearing out the first encampment of samurais, head up the path and go left. Use your detect kuji shrine spell to locate the ice storm spell and head up the ledges. Once you get on the first ledge, the Jizo statue is slightly covered by a bush right beside you.
  3. After entering the Old Pine Forest, go down the path until you reach 2 caged animals. Free them, fight off the horde of enemies, and just to your left, maybe 5 feet from the cages, is the Jizo statue.
  4. When you first enter the enemy camp, where all of the barriers the archers hide behind are, look left and you will see a small rock ledge above you. Go thru the camp and around the grassy hill back to that point. The Jizo statue is on top of it.
  5. Once you enter the Happy Monkey Hot Springs, go down the left path. Free the caged animals and turn around. On your left in a small corner, you should see the Jizo statue half covered in the snow.
  6. Once you reach the Old Mountain Road sign, go up the hill a bit and look for the first ledge on the left. Jump up it and the Jizo statue will be right beside you.
  7. Once you beat the 2 large samurai, go into the next section and there will be 2 paths. Take the right path and follow it around. A good ways up the path, you will see the Jizo statue sitting in the snow to your left.
  8. Once you enter the caves, you'll soon come to a fork in the path. Take the left cave all the way until you reach a room with a small rock frozen in a small pond. An anemone is on the rock and just to the left of where you enter on a small ledge is the Jizo statue.

Snow Castle

  1. As you progress up the main path, you'll see this Jizo statue sitting beneath a tree on the right side of the path.
  2. Once you get to the snow castle bridge, veer just to the right. You'll see the Jizo statue right between 2 bushes and the rock face to the right. Can't miss it.
  3. Once you enter the large area with all the houses, go behind the last house on the right while headed towards the main path up the steps. There are a few caged animals here as well. Free them and grab the Jizo statue which is right near them.
  4. After you reach the next checkpoint, right on the other side of the doors you must open, go right and up the steps. Jump up to the next ledge where the archers are. Kill them and the Jizo statue will be in the corner next to a breakble pot.
  5. Just before you exit the house with all the destructible paper walls, destroy the wall at the back of the room where you fight the 2 super-fast guys. The Jizo statue is to the left of the room as you destroy the walls.
  6. As you move up the large steps with the two archer towers beside it above you, simply go up the steps and towards the archer towers. Destroy them both and go to the left of the second tower. The Jizo statue is right near where the tower was.
  7. As you enter the last courtyard before the boss, it has a sorcerer, a big samurai, and a lot of archers/spearmen, take the left staircase and follow it to the end by the door near where you came in. The Jizo statue is near the end of the ledge after you kill the 4 archers.

Snowy Canyon

  1. Once you are finally able to walk around freely, go right towards the barred doors. There will be a fallen tree next to the door. The Jizo statue is at the top end of the tree.
  2. This statue is on the main path from the previous one. Just look to the right of the main path and you can't miss it.

Volcano's Shadow

  1. After talking to the Tengu at the old samurai camp, take the left path near the checkpoint. As you follow down the path, there will be a Jizo statue on the left side of the path.
  2. When you get to the area where the meteor storm spell is, look on the opposite side of the area for a bunch of bushes. Behind the bushes awaits a Jizo statue.
  3. Once you get to the area where you can go up to the sacred temple, hang a left. The Jizo statue is on the ground near a ledge.
  4. Once you go up the steps to the temple, look for the frozen river. Hang a left when you see it and go all the way left until you reach a ledge where the top of the frozen waterfall is. The Jizo statue is right before the ledge.
  5. After you enter the Silent Wood, follow the main path and you will eventually see the Jizo statue on the side of the path in plain sight.
  6. Once you enter the small courtyard where the red big samurai is, look under the steps to the left as you enter. The Jizo statue is under them.

The Big Jump

  1. As you start down the path, hug the left wall. After maybe 10-20 feet, you'll see the Jizo statue next to the rock face on the left side in a corner.
  2. Once you enter the large samurai encampment, look towards the back of the area for a small group of trees. Go into them and look towards the right. The Jizo statue is slightly visible. If you can't find it, use your spirit form to take over the caged panda and look for the blue smoke in the trees.
  3. As you are heading up the staircase towards the exit, the Jizo statue is in the corner of where the 2nd and 3rd staircases meet.

Final Approach

  1. As soon as the level starts, head towards the rock that looks like a small volcano. To the right of this is a bush. The Jizo statue is right in front of the bush.
  2. After reaching the first checkpoint, keep going up the ramps. After a short while you'll see the Jizo statue in a corner on your left between a fruit bush and a normal bush.
  3. Once you come to the open door pathway which you can go 3 different ways, go left. Then take the next left and you'll see the Jizo statue sitting near the left wall right in front of another volcano looking rock.
  4. In the giant courtyard full of enemies, there is a house on the left. Open the 2nd set of doors and after the 3 samurai come out, the Jizo statue is in the left corner of the room.
  5. Go behind the house where you got the last Jizo statue and use your wall jump. Go right at the top and jump across to the ledge on the right and the Jizo statue is right there.

Living Castle

  1. As you are climbing up the living house, you'll eventually come to an area with 2 spearmen. Kill them and then go left. You'll see a breakable pot and to the left of it, on a small ledge, is Jizo statue 1 for this level.
  2. After you reach the lone red swordsman samurai, go up the beam and jump up to a platform on your right. Look down over the side and you'll see 2 breakables and the next Jizo statue is sitting in the right corner of this secluded area.
  3. After you go up the steps to the area with fire underneath you, slowly make your way across the gaps and on the 2nd thin platform, against the left wall, there is a Jizo statue.
  4. When you get to the dojo, instead of going in the main doors, go up the beam to your right instead. It will bring you to a dark area and the Jizo statue is visible just inside.
  5. After you leave the dojo and go up the stairs, cut the paper doors down and immediately look right. The Jizo statue is sitting in the corner.
  6. In the area where you have to cut thru paper doors to avoid fires and falling down a hole in the floor, you'll eventually come to this Jizo statue. It's right next to 2 caged animals once the super fast guys start to appear.
  7. In that same area, once you get to the second sorcerer, he'll be on the right side, turn around and head the other way. The Jizo statue is sitting in a corner 2 rooms before where the sorcerer was.
  8. Just before entering the final boss fight, go left and the statue will be underneath a torch on the wall.

I would make only one change to this guide: for Jizo #6 in the Earth castle, the word "previous" should be removed. The statue actually has nothing to do with the previous caged animals (i.e. those animals used as a marker for statue #5).

In fact, you must move to the next area (over rooftops) to find this statue.

I triple that suggestion. Earth Castle statue #6 - "pevious" is a horrible decscriptor and caused me to lose a bunch of time looking around from the mentioned cages. Had to youtube the staute to find it, just to learn it was in the next area. Please fix this. :(

Few other locations are poorly worded or are not described well enough but i found them eventually on my own anyway. ;)

Overall was a really helpful guide that saved me a lot of time, so thanks for the hard work and help. :applause:

I don't know if you checked all the descriptions when you took the guide from the other site, but some are unclear and misleading. The one that cracked me up the most was one that says to "go north" when there's no map or compass in the game.

Yeah that got me confused as well! It's actually just "opposite the house" towards the bamboo forest... or "turn right" on the "bear cage"... nonetheless it was very helpful... almost done with it... got about 79/100 now...
