olsen77
Overview Estimated trophy difficulty: 7.0/10 Offline: 14 (1 , 1 , 13 ) Online: 1(1 ) Downloadable Content: 6 (2 , 4 ) Approximate amount of time to 100%: 20+ hours Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 Number of missable trophies: 0 Glitched trophies: None Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats Remember Marble Madness? Mercury Hg is very much like that, but instead of controlling a marble, you are a blob of mercury. You have to guide your blob through 60 levels (120 if you have the DLC), 20 bonus levels, and 10 challenges in order to earn all of the trophies. As you can expect, the levels range in difficulty from simple to difficult. However, the only difficult part that you’ll find in this game are the challenges. Everything else should be relatively painless once you learn how to play. Coincidentally, that is where I recommend that you begin. Tutorials – Chemistry 101 With any game, but most especially PSN games, the first place you want to start is with the tutorials. There are nine total and they will teach you various aspects of the game that you will encounter over the levels. They won’t show everything because who wants to ruin the surprise, but by the end of them, you should be comfortable enough with the mechanics to tackle the rest of the game. Also at the end of the tutorials, you will receive Revealium for completing all nine. If you want to switch on your own soundtrack and SIXAXIS controls for two more quick trophies (Musicium and Sixaxium) they will unlock in the tutorials. Once you’re finished here, it’s time to move on to the bulk of the game, Discovery Mode. Trophies Earned: Revealium Musicium Sixaxium Discovery Mode – The Periodic Table Those of you that are familiar with chemistry will recognize the in game map instantly. Those of you that are not, meet the Periodic Table of the Elements. Fortunately, you won’t have to know much more than element names since they are also level names. Since not everyone knows chemistry super well, there is a copy of the Periodic Table at the end of the road map. Most of the info you don’t need to worry about, just the names and numbers of the elements. With 60 levels (120 if you have the DLC), the question is where to begin. The game is designed with progression in mind. There are five groups that you will have unlock. To unlock them, you have to reach targets in the levels. Each level has four targets (atoms), and yes, for Awesomium, you will have to reach all four targets in each level. That’s something for a couple of paragraphs from now though. There are five groups in all. You will need 100 atoms (at least 25 levels fully complete) to unlock all of the groups. Once all groups are unlocked, you are free to jump around wherever you want. Start with Hydrogen and complete it getting all four atoms to get Targeteium. Once you’re done with the level, download a ghost and play it again for Spookium. After that, it’s just a matter of completing enough levels to unlock second, third, fourth, and fifth groups for Bielementium, Trielementium, Quadelementium, and Pentelementium. You’ll need 100 atoms in all and the DLC levels do count towards that total. Once you have all of the levels unlocked, you can jump around and complete the levels to unlock all of the bonus levels and the challenges to get Bonusium and Unlockium. The lists of levels you’ll need to complete are in their respective trophy descriptions. For the bonus levels, you will need to at least collect each of the bonus pickups in the levels. Since those are one of the targets though and if you’re going for Awesomium, you’ll need them anyway. After everything is unlocked, finish off the remaining levels to get Awesomium. You will need all 240 atoms from the 60 original levels (DLC levels will not count towards this). Again, each level has four targets, one for completing the level, one for having 100% of the mercury blob at the end, one for getting all of the bonus pickups, and one for completing the level under a certain amount of time. The good news is that you don’t have to do all four in one attempt. You can do four attempts if you like and focus on one target at a time, if you like. The most efficient way that I found was to get the time out of the way first, and then go back for 100% and the bonus pickups. By the time you have all of the atoms, you will also have Discoverium. Trophies Earned: Targetenium Spookium Bielementium Trielementium Quadelementium Pentelementium Bonusium Unlockium Awesomium Discoverium Bonus Levels – Anti-Mercury You can do this at any time after you start unlocking all of the bonus levels. I saved it until after Discovery Mode though. The bonus levels are simple as they are the same levels that you have already done, but instead of completing four targets to complete a level, you have to collect vials of mercury to become a full blob again. Lucky for you, there is no time limit in this mode, so you take your sweet time and make sure not to make any mistakes. If you lose even a little bit of mercury, you will lose the level. Take it slow and easy, and you’ll get Bolevium in no time. Trophy Earned: Bolevium Challenge Mode – Can’t Spell Challenge Without “Hell” Here is the only difficult trophy that you’ll find in the game. What makes it difficult is that each challenge is a series of levels in which you have to complete very specific requirements. Not only do you have to complete specific requirements, but each level also has two or three stages (difficulties) to them. The stages get progressively more difficult and the requirements get that much tougher. The best thing to say is practice and keep trying. You will get Challengium eventually. Remember, these are the same levels that you finished to unlock the challenges. They just have more requirements to them than the targets. Trophy Earned: Challengium Clean Up You should have all of the base trophies by now, but if you don’t, head back to Discovery Mode and finish up that you’ve missed. Enjoy the game. It’s one of more unique puzzle games you’ll find on PSN. DLC Note: The DLC trophies can be done at any time after you purchase them from the PSN Store. Completing the DLC levels do contribute to the total number of atoms needed to unlock the base groups. Controls (I would recommend switching to control scheme B as the zoom function is mapped to and .): Move level: Rotate camera: Attract mercury: Edited April 12, 2017 by Terminator Removed a dead image. olsen77
Trophy Guide Discoverium Complete all the levels in Discovery Mode. There are 60 levels in the base game (Groups 1-5). Complete each level for this trophy. You don’t have to hit all four targets per level (although, if you want Awesomium, then you will have to complete all four targets in each level). You just have to finish each level. You will need a minimum of 100 atoms to unlock all five groups though. And yes, atoms from the DLC levels do contribute to your overall total. Challengium Complete all of the Challenges. This is the hardest trophy in the game. Each challenge is a combination of different levels. You have to beat each level meeting the requirements of the challenge. Each challenge also has two or three levels of difficulty that increase with each stage. The stages will remain the same, but the completion requirements will become harder. In order to have a challenge marked as complete, you must meet the requirements of each stage in each challenge. When it says "in under 130 seconds", that means all of the levels in under 130 seconds. The requirements are for the combination of levels, not individual levels. These are very doable, but difficult. Keep practising the levels and you will eventually get through them. Remember, these are the exact same levels that you completed to unlock the challenges. If you’re at this point, you have done the levels before. It’s just putting together a string of them to complete the challenge that is the issue. If you're stuck on a level, go back to Discovery Mode and practice it again and again trying to hit the requirements. Practice is all that you need to complete this trophy. One thing that I found very helpful was to switch the control scheme to Type B. This takes the camera zoom away from the so that you will only use it to rotate the camera. Also, if you're getting close to the goal and you lose some mercury that would make you fail the challenge, rush to the goal as fast as you can. You'll have around a second between the mercury going over the side and when it registers that it went over. See here for a full video walkthrough (credit to Kevinnummer1😞 LINK Chromatium Estimated Difficulty: 4/10 Stage 1 – Complete all levels with 50% Mercury collecting at least 7 bonus pickups. Stage 2 - Complete all levels with at least 100% Mercury remaining in under 210 seconds collecting at least 23 bonus pickups. Bolevium Complete all of the Bonus Levels. The Bonus Levels are pretty easy. The levels will be exactly the same as their original counterpart but instead of going after the four targets, you have to collect mercury and get back to a full blob. If you lose any mercury, then you fail the level and you’ll have to restart. That’s the bad news. The good news is that you can take as much time as you need to complete the level. There are no other targets or requirements to complete the levels. Just get to 100% and hit the goal. Targetenium Complete all 4 targets in any Discovery Mode level. This will be one of the first trophies that you get. Each level has four targets (atoms) to complete. The targets are completion of the level, amount of mercury remaining, time, and bonuses collected. The first level (Hydrogen [H]) is by far the easiest to do this in as all four targets are easy to reach. The four targets for Hydrogen are listed below. Mercury – 100% Time – 30:00 seconds Bonuses – 3 Level Complete If by some chance you only reach three of those targets, you can go and reply the level to get the fourth one and the trophy will still unlock. olsen77
Bonusium Discover all 20 of the Bonus Levels. This will unlock as you go. There are 20 levels that you will have to complete, one for each bonus level. In order to unlock it, it’s not enough to just complete the level, but you will have to get all of the bonuses (not targets, just the bonus target) in each level. The levels are scattered across all five groups, so you will need at least 100 atoms to unlock all of them. The levels and the levels that you need to complete are listed below. Antirubidium – Rubidium [Rb] Antieiconium – Eiconium [Ei] Antistrontium – Strontium [sr] Antichromium – Chromium [Cr] Antimanganese – Manganese [Mn] Antizirconium – Zirconium [Zr] Antitechnetium – Technetium [Tc] Antigallium – Gallium [Ga] Antizinc – Zinc [Zn] Antirhodium – Rhodium [Rh] Antiindium – Indium [in] Anticarbon – Carbon [C] Antinitrogen – Nitrogen [N] Antioxygen – Oxygen [O] Antiphosphorus – Phosphorus [P] Antitellerium – Tellerium [Te] Antihelium – Helium [He] Antibromine – Bromine [br] Antiargon – Argon [Ar] Antixenon – Xenon [Xe] Spookium Download and play against an online ghost replay. (Online) You will need to complete one level in order to access the leaderboards, and yes, you will need PSN access. Once you have completed a level (Hydrogen [H] is the most likely level), highlight the level. Push and then twice. Highlight one of the names on the leaderboard and push to race against it. You do not need to beat it, just race it. Musicium Play one of your own music tracks while playing the game. You will need to have music installed on your PS3 to be able to do this. Once you have a CD or even just one song on your hard drive, boot up the game. From the main menu, go to Help & Options and the Music Player to select your music. Play any level, including tutorial levels after that and once the level is completed, this will unlock. You can also pause the game at the start of a level and reach Help & Options. Everything else after that is the same. Bielementium Discover the second group of elements. The level selection screen is the Periodic Table of the Elements. The Periodic Table is broken up into groups (that vary from the actual groups that the elements are in, but for the purposes of this game, it works). You will need different numbers of atoms to access each group. For the second group, you will need 25 atoms. The atoms are earned by completing levels and achieving the targets for each level. If you miss one of the targets/atoms in any level, you can go back and complete it again just to earn that one target. Every level has a maximum of four targets, so at the minimum, you will need to complete at least seven levels to open up the second group. Note: The DLC levels do help to contribute towards your total needed to unlock the base groups. Trielementium Discover the third group of elements. See Bielementium for a more detailed description of the levels in Mercury Hg. For the third group, you will need 50 atoms. Quadelementium Discover the fourth group of elements. See Bielementium for a more detailed description of the levels in Mercury Hg. For the fourth group, you will need 75 atoms. Penetelementium Discover the fifth group of elements. See Bielementium for a more detailed description of the levels in Mercury Hg. For the fifth group, you will need 100 atoms. olsen77
Sixaxium Complete a level using the SIXAXIS™ motion sensor function. To switch the SIXAXIS controls on, reach the Help & Options menu either through the main menu or by pausing during a level. Go to Controls and move the d-pad left once or twice (it doesn’t matter since both of those are SIXAXIS control schemes). Be sure to push to save the changes and the resume the level. This can be done on any level, including the tutorial levels. Once you have the SIXAXIS control scheme selected, simply complete the level. Unlockium Discover all 10 of the Challenges. To unlock a challenge, you have to complete a combination of two to five levels broken up across the different groups. Once you have completed all three, the challenge will unlock. The 10 challenges and the levels you will need to complete are listed below. Chromatium – Potassium [K], Calcium [Ca], Ignitium [ig] Pixellium – Francium [Fr], Titanium [Ti], Niobium [Nb] Conveyorium – Chromium [Cr], Silver [Ag], Sulfur , Helium [He] Precipicium – Manganese [Mn], Oxygen [O] Gravitium – Strontium [sr], Fluorine [F], Argon [Ar] Magnetronium – Cobalt [Co], Rhodium [Rh], Nitrogen [N], Germanium [Ge] Platformium – Boron , Selenium [se], Iodine , Chlorine [Cl] Clockworkium – Gallium [Ga], Tellerium [Te], Neon [Ne], Xenon [Xe] Mazium – Zirconium [Zr], Copper [Cu], Phosphorus [P], Bromine [br] Groupium – Radium [Ra], Vanadium [V], Aluminum [Al], Tin [sn], Krypton [Kr] Revealium Finish all of the Tutorial Levels. There are nine tutorials that selectable from the main menu. I would recommend doing these levels first as you will get an idea of the mechanics of the game. Each tutorial places you in a different situation that you will face in the game. They can also be done in any order. Awesomium Be awarded all 240 original Atoms in Discovery Mode from groups 1 to 5. There are 60 levels in the base game. This means that in order to reach 240 atoms, you will have to hit all four targets on each level. This isn’t too difficult since each level takes about a minute to do and you can do one target per attempt. Each level has a target for amount of mercury left, time to complete, bonus atoms hit, and for completing the level. If you don’t get all of them the first time you play it, you can replay the level as many times as you need to get all four atoms. Yes, that does say “original.” If you get any atoms from the DLC level, they will not count towards your total for this trophy. Both DLC’s also work the exact same way. You don’t have to worry about hitting all of the targets. The only ones that you will need are the bonus pickups to unlock the bonus levels, but there are only 10 of those per DLC. The other 20 levels in each DLC you just have to complete. When it comes to the challenges and the bonus levels, you can skip those as they are not required for the trophies. Obviously, if you’re enjoying the game, why not do them. But they aren’t necessary for 100%. You just have to unlock them. As a result of this, the DLC’s are much, much easier and won’t take you very long to complete. Heavy Elements DLC Pack Gravisium Complete all the Discovery Mode levels in the Heavy Elements content pack. There are 30 levels in the Heavy Elements pack. Simply complete all 30 levels. eburkulosis
Great guide as usual Olsen. I'm surprised and glad to see you do a game off the beaten path so to speak. Just making my way through Discovery mode, had some troubles getting 4 atoms in with Aluminum and maybe one other level so far but 201 Atoms in, nothing too bad. Practice Practice Practice...im dreading these challenges There isn't much on this game anywhere. Its a real gem and awesome looking trophy images. EDIT: Finished the base game and all the challenges. They each took me at least an hour to two hours to complete. For the Challenges that do NOT have video links, look up Kevinnummer1 on Youtube, he has just made some videos on these and they are very good.
