I got paired with a girl like that once for a project in science. We had to design an air pressure rocket. Without delving into detail, if I still went to that high school, I wouldn't be allowed near the air pump ever again.

    Heh.

I've actually be dabbling in computer stuff since Jr. High. I've only gotten into coding more than basic websites within the last 1-2 years, but I've always been proficient in hardware. I've never had the money to build with new stuff, but I always pick up the buckets of crap and empty tower cases at thrift stores and see if I can make them run. Its funny to jerry-rig an old PC with like 218MB of RAM running windows ME that has like an 8 minute boot time, but I know I can build a computer at least.

Also to be fair, I'd probably play with a controller on PC. I play on my friends Gaming PC all the time with a controller, and to be fair, the skill gap thing is a load of crap. Mouse/Keyboard sacrifices the extremely dynamic movement of joysticks for increased accuracy.

They kind of cancel each other out given the controller user is really really good at derping around. Not to brag, but I'm expert at looking like an idiot while running, and I've done quite well on PC before.

Hmm, its not really Battlefield that is drawing me to PC, its consoles in general. Unless the next gen of consoles is extremely appealing (price being a non-factor), I honestly just want to skip it for PC gaming.

I don't have to explain the all mighty glory of Steam, or the hardware superiority to you of course. Its more because I actually plan to computer for a living. I'm taking quite a few courses for it right now through high school, learning a lot about website design, and next year I'll be taking C++ design. Having a Gaming PC would be great for that, because then I wouldn't have to limit myself in ambition. Right now, the most I'm able to do is some 2D Flash games and the like. I tried working with some 3D software, and even running it in a browser with absolutely every possible background program disabled, I managed around 12FPS solid, sometimes upping to 20 if I didn't move.

A school provided $300 laptop that is about 3 model years old is not good for what I do. Not at all

I get that way around computers. But like cars, computers are an expensive hobby I don't have the money for. I fiddle with code and design programs in my free time, but until I save the extra money to build a Gaming PC, probably around holiday-mid 2013, I can't really "get into it"

Oh yeah. I like cars and such, but I will openly admit I'm not trained in the field. It just doesn't interest me to work on them as much as drive them. I see a car as something of a toy, or tool for enjoyment. Once you start have to do labor, they become work, not fun. Work is not fun. I don't wanna give the impression I can't do simple repairs myself. I certainly can do all the tune-up work, tires, alternator, you know, the basic repairs.

I like German cars, in fact, my mom getting a Jetta was my idea. She didn't pick the Black Jetta I wanted off the same lot because it $3000, but the one she got is still pretty nice. To add insult to injury, after the recent brake work she just had done, and getting these repairs today, the total cost of the car will be around $2900 trololol.
