I moved from Barrie so I could be closer to my school. I go to York University and it's a much easier commute from Mississauga than it is from Barrie. I moved in with my girlfriend and her family while she is finishing up university, she also goes to York so it works out that way.
I initially didn't enjoy moving to the GTA. I loved the smaller town feeling of Barrie and Mississauga is 5 times the size. I agree with you about the people in the GTA. They're mostly assholes, I don't speak to anyone here apart from my girlfriend's family. Her extended family (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc) all live in Mississauga so I really get along with them, but that's the extent of my association with the people of Mississauga
2/2 We have had some ridiculous weather here for the last two weeks. We had a thunderstorm about a week ago and temperatures between -2 and +5 degrees. Now we are having strong winds, and frigid temperatures. I heard on the news earlier today that on the 400 hwy between Barrie and Newmarket there were whiteout conditions and there ended up being a 96 car pileup which closed the hwy in both directions all day.
I see a lot of the "fuck you winter!" a lot on my facebook too I always laugh at it and think that if they don't like it, they could always move to a warmer place.
There's not much new with me lately. Just trying to get through this semester of school so I can either begin working for the summer or start a summer semester. I'm really looking forward to the spring so I can start watching the Jays games every day . I'm really excited for the start of the season and I hope to attend a few games this year. Same goes for Toronto FC matches.
I know exactly what AMC that is! That's a ridiculous walk
It was very hard for me at first when I moved to Mississauga from Barrie because it's triple the population and size (Currently Barrie is around 130k ppl) and the people themselves are way different.
The weather was actually pretty ok for a little while until we had a huge ice storm about 2 weeks ago that left most people without any power for days. Luckily, my house wasn't one of them. Lately though, it's been quite warm (above 0 degrees for the past few days) which has caused my driveway to become a skating rink at night
I've been fine and busy as ever thanks to the amount of guides and supplements people are writing . I've had 3 of my own guides stuck this year which is great but I'm taking a time out from Guide writing for the time being to recharge my batteries (no pun intended).
