Introduction:

Welcome to Lost Planet 2! First and foremost, if you're looking for an easy plat, turn away now, this one's a monster. Between the ridiculous amount of times you'll have to play through the campaign and the completion of the exhaustive Good Job and Noms De Guerre lists, you had better be prepared for the long haul.

Lost Planet 2 may be a considerable trophy grind, but there is a lot of fun to be had in assaulting hordes of enemies and taking down oversized bosses with the help of others in co-op. It is important throughout the duration of the game to be mindful of the Good Job and Noms De Guerre requirements, as you can cut down considerably on the amount of grinding required by changing what weapons or grenades you use throughout the course of play when your attain the Noms De Guerre related to them. Of course, there are situations where some weapons would be far more effective than others, so let common sense dictate what situations would be best to work towards noms, and which require that you use the weapons best suited to the situation.

Also be mindful that there are some very difficult Noms De Guerre to unlock. The NUMBER 1 nom in particular is a major stumbling block for anyone attempting the platinum, as it requires that you get a *world record* time/score on one of the 50 training missions, or that you are the number one on one of the ranked match related leaderboards. Currently, the training mission times and scores are pushed to nigh impossible limits, and it is just as hard to reach the top of a ranked online leaderboard. There are petitions on the capcom forums to change these static leaderboards to ones that periodically reset, thereby allowing newcomers a chance to attain the TOP TEN and NUMBER 1 noms.

Not only are there noms for being in the Top Ten and for being Number 1 on a leaderboard, there is also Master of Techniques, requiring a Gold on all 50 of the Training Missions. Though not as daunting as TOP TEN and NUMBER 1, Master of Techniques can still cause troubles. The game as a whole requires a huge investment of time, so consider those two noms in particular before attempting to pursue this platinum.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Completing the Campaign.

It is highly recommended you begin the game with the campaign. This will give you a steady stream of credits with which to slowly increase your arsenal of weapons, grenades and abilities, which will in turn give you more options when you begin the online component. You will be required to complete the campaign from start to finish a minimum of four times, once on each difficulty setting. You will have to complete hard in order to unlock Extreme.

I recommend playing an online campaign through Normal first, with the private slots set to 3 and the AI set to 3. This will allow you to work towards your "Me Against the World" trophy, as well as familiarise yourself with the game in a reasonably forgiving setting. The June patch for Lost Planet 2 brought down the difficulty of the Easy and Normal campaigns dramatically, so you shouldn't have any trouble with this.

Once you've completed your normal playthrough, you should have unlocked a reasonable amount of weapons, so return to easy and repeat the process, but work on gaining Good Job awards for whatever you have unlocked. By the end of your Easy and Normal playthroughs, you will have completed 84 of the 93 areas required for the "Me Against the World" trophy, and will have completed 21 of the 39 chapters required for "It's So Easy", as well as a few Good Job Awards.

At this point, you can complete the game on easy again to unlock both trophies, as well as harvest a considerable amount of credits to unlock more weapons and abilities. Additionally, you will also unlock the Captain Emeritus nom for playing through 100 campaign areas as the host.

Now you're coming up to your hard campaign, you should be well versed how to play the game by now. It's up to you whether or not you continue with just the AI, but at this point, it's good to bring in flesh and blood co-op partners. This will start your work on "Two is Better Than One" (which requires that you play through 386 campaign areas, or roughly, the full campaign nine times) as well as give you a bit more of an edge on the stronger enemies you'll engage in hard and extreme.

If you have unlocked the Captain Emeritus nom at this point, get one of your partners to host the games, as you can start work towards your Legionnaire nom (For playing through 100 campaign areas as a 'Guest'). A crucial point here is that the battle gauge will come into play more heavily with co-op partners than when you're with just AI. Unlike the AI, Human partners will consume the battle gauge upon death. Think of the battle gauge as a sort of communal 'Lives'. If one of you dies, 500 Battle Gauge is consumed. If they die inside a VS, 1000 is consumed. This becomes a key point as you ascend the difficulties, because you're progressively given less battle gauge, and fewer opportunities to replenish it with data posts. So everyone in your party must be mindful of reduced respawning capacity on higher difficulty levels.

Once you've completed the game on Hard, Extreme will unlock, ready for you to play through. Again, as long you're careful not to die, progress carefully and support each other effectively, this shouldn't be as 'Extreme' as it sounds. Upon completion of Extreme, You should have netted enough credits to have secured all of the abilities, and most (if not all) of the weapons. If you've followed the suggested path to the letter, you will have completed 105 chapters, and have 84 areas towards your "Two is Better Than One" Trophy.

Step 2: Online

With at least 4 campaigns under your belt, you should be well equipped and ready to take on the online world. You need at least 100 Ranked match wins for the "Centurion" trophy, and 500 Games played for the "War Vet" Trophy. The 1000 enemies defeated, as well as the Gunner Player Rank required for the "Hot Shot" trophy should come naturally during this process.

It is *strongly* recommended you play team matches during your online conquest, as it gives you a considerably better chance of winning, and thus decreases the time required for your 100 wins. The 500 matches played for "War Vet" can be done in player matches, so don't worry too much about this, as it's going to come naturally while you grind out your noms. Be mindful of the Good Jobs and Noms De Guerre requirements while you're playing your matches, as opportunities to attain certain awards or noms might arise throughout the course of online play.

Another component of the online game are faction matches. Faction matches are going to be one of your major stumbling blocks in attaining this platinum. A faction match is played over the course of a week. You select a faction and any games your faction wins on one of the three faction match maps for the week get added to a total. At the end of the week, the winning faction in each of the 3 maps are awarded 1 of the 3 necessary wins for the related Noms de Guerre.

To collect all the faction match related noms, you must be part of one of the three winning faction 3 times, with each of the 5 factions. This means that in your perfect scenario, those faction noms will take at the very least 15 weeks. It is recommended that you wait until late in the week to pick a faction, as by that time you'll have a clear image as to which 3 factions will have the greatest chances of winning, and you'll have the best chance possible to acquire the noms without wasting weeks being part of losing factions.

Upon completing Step 2, you will earn:

(B)

Welcome to the Battle!

(B)(H)
Centurion

(B)(H)
War Vet

(B)
Slayer of a Thousand Men

(B)(H)
Hot Shot

(B)(H)

Step 3: Finishing the campaign trophies.

Now we come to the more tedious end of our quest for this platinum. The grinding. Assuming you've followed the roadmap to the letter, you will already have "Monster Hunter", "100-Chapter Playback", "Me Against the World" and "It's So Easy". You might also have progressive trophies like "VS Graveyard", "A Thousand Unmarked Graves" and "Endangered Species". You should have 105 of 300 chapters completed for "300-Chapter Playback" and 84 of 386 areas for "Two is Better Than One".

Each playthrough of the entire campaign is 21 chapters, across 42 areas. This means that you'll need to complete the campaign with your co-op partner a further 7 times, and complete the campaign two more times after that for "300-Chapter Playback". You don't have to grind through the campaign alone, you can mix it up by repeating different chapters. Just be mindful of how many areas are in each and keep track of how many you've done. It may be faster to repeat the same short chapter over and over again, rather than complete the campaign as a whole each time, but it is recommended for your own sanity that you don't repeat a single chapter repeatedly. It's already a grind without making it harder on yourself.

While completing your campaign trophies, keep track of how your weapons and grenades noms are progressing, and change your weapons and abilities to suit what weapon noms you need to work on next. You should also use these playthroughs to finish getting all of the Episode and Weapon related Good Job Awards if you haven't already, as well as the campaign related Noms de Guerre. As only 7 of these playthroughs will be required for "Two is Better than One", you should use one of your final two playthroughs to attain the Band of Brothers nom, which is earned for completing the campaign in *Splitscreen* Co-op.

If you're struggling to attain some of the good job awards related to weapons and grenades, a good chapter for getting them is 4-1. The first area has plenty of soldiers and the second area has a large gauntlet of rapidly spawning akrid. Remember that the Genessa, ie the akrid spawners, count as M-Sized akrid, and turrets count as VSs, so there are easier options for those Good Job Awards than going after the Vodogg, ie the dog-like M-sized Akrid in 1-2, or the standard VSs throughout the game.

Upon completing Step 3, you will earn:

Step 4: Grinding the remaining Noms De Guerre and Good Job Awards.

Another tedious component to this platinum, you'll be spending a large portion of time attaining the remainder of the Noms De Guerre. While a large number of these noms are attainable by grinding campaign levels, it is strongly recommended that you do the majority of your dedicated nom "training" in player matches with your co-op partner.

Like the campaign, there are two noms here for hosting and joining player matches. Emcee is for hosting 100 player matches, and The Challenger is for joining 100 as a guest. So organize with your partner who will host 100 first, then swap. 200 games in, you and your partner will have both noms. It is also recommended that you use Superstar for these matches, as it will help you attain the level 99 trophies faster, and with it the "Quintuple Factionalism" trophy, by tripling the standard points you earn, thus getting you to level 99 quicker.

The first nom you pursue in this format should be the Supreme Ruler nom, which is for winning 30 consecutive games. Organise with your partner who will go first, and keep a tally of how many you've completed. While attaining the required wins, you should also train up your VS related noms. Be sure to change the weapons on the VS you're currently training to a VS weapon you also need to train, as this will accumulate damage experience with both the VS and the weapon, halving the overall time required by doing both at once.

For this setup, the map Thunderpeal Precipice is ideal, as it has plenty of VSs and and all of the VS weapons across each of the four layouts. The layout you use should be determined by which VS you currently need to train, and to a lesser extent by the weapons available on that map. Again, use some common sense as to which weapons and VS you decide to train simultaneously. For example, equipping a Dongo Gear or a Battle Neegal with a Pile Bunker will make it difficult to hit your partner, and will consequently require a lot more stuffing around. You can also do this nom faster if you skip ahead to the grenade training in VS Annihilator, but ultimately, you'll need to do the VS noms anyway, so it's best to start with them.

Once you both have the Supreme Ruler nom, you can continue taking it in turns to train VS noms on each other till they're complete, or you can move onto the nom requirements for some of the other gameplay modes like Fugitive, Data Post Grab and Akrid Egg Hunt. Working through these modes will also give you the chance to get the some of your remaining good job awards. It is also recommended that you organize enough people to do the Good Job Awards such as Team Emote: 8 Players, Regen Grenade Support: 5 Players and V Device Support: 5 Players, as well as 5 Point Man: 5 Kill Streak and Leader Heads: 5 Kill Streak. You should also take the opportunity to do all of the support weapon transform attacks, which have varying requirements, but each require at least two people to attain the noms.

Once you've completed those, and you may or may not have finished the Weapons, VS Weapons and VS Mastery noms. Your final weapon grinding task will be the remainder of your grenade noms. There are two excellent methods for training grenades, one through singleplayer campaign, the other through Player matches with a friend (the campaign method is by far the faster of the two methods, though the Player matches method works fine).

For the singleplayer campaign, set your chapter to either 1-1 or 6-4, on Easy difficulty, with your abilities being set to 'Head Start (whatever-grenade-you're-training)' and 'Grenades I'. I recommend doing it on Easy as to avoid being overwhelmed by Akrid whilst grenade spamming them, but if you're confident then feel free to up the difficulty. Also have Injection Gun I set as your Support Weapon, as this will make the process much faster. If you're not training Release grenades, then set your Release grenade to Dummy Grenade III. Now when you do either of the chapters, find yourself an Injection Gun I, and an abundant source of Akrid (the Akrid gauntlet in 1-1 or the Chryatis mobs in 6-4, for example) and inject yourself with the attack injection, ie the red one. If your Injection Gun I is set to the wrong injection, press :circle: to cycle through to the attack injection. Once injected, just spam your grenade of choice into the Akrid mobs until they're all dead. The Dummy Grenade III is of particular use as it can be used to suicide to replenish your grenade supplies. This isn't such a problem in 1-1, as you can easily suicide, but there is no way to suicide on 6-4 when playing on Easy. A couple of playthroughs of the chapter and you can master any grenade, the slowest of all being the Plasma Grenade, which would take no more than 2 hours.

For Player matches, the best way to do this is to set up a VS Annihilator match on the map Cube with your partner, and equip the 'Head Start (whatever-grenade-you're-training)' and 'VS Takedown' abilities. By setting it up so that there's only the two of you, you will both start in the VS Leader suits, which are Bleed suits with abnormally large amounts of health. This is perfect for the grenade damage, as you as large a damage sponge as you can find. It's also handy if you've not yet attained Bleed Master, as you'll gain damage points towards the Bleed Master nom. From there, just use the grenades on each other, then finish one another off with the many VS weapons scattered around the arena. Then lather, rinse and repeat.

At the start of the campaign, there are two prologues you can play. To play Prologue A, you must be either the 1st or the 3rd player to enter the player lobby. Once you start the game, the trophy will unlock after you finish the chapter, directly after defeating the Chryatis (Spider Akrid).

Same as "Complete Prologue A", except you must be either the 2nd or the 4th player to enter the player lobby. Yet again, the trophy will unlock when you finish the chapter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/04.jpg Complete Episode 1 (B)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 1.

Episode 1 is primarily an Akrid infested episode and consists of three chapters with two bosses, Chryatis Queen (1-2) and Gordiant (1-3).

[spoiler=Epi1]

Episode Boss – Gordiant

Gordiant is the Episode Boss for Episode 1, and is a huge 6-legged beast. Despite his size, he is relatively easy to defeat. You can deal damage to him multiple ways – by shooting and destroying his regenerative legs, destroying the “core” on his back, or by attacking the “core” from inside his body. By far the easiest of these three options is to destroy his legs. To do this, you can use any of the weapons and VS weapons scattered across the area, or you could use either the GAH-42BS Bleed VSs or the GAF-15D Drion Multi-seat VS (which can be found in the previous area). Using either VS is a much better choice, as you can inflict much more damage, much faster. Once you destroy two of his legs, he will collapse onto the ground, and from here you can enter his mouth. From inside, you can attack his core to do decent damage, but will have to put up with Akrid whilst inside. Beware, if you do infiltrate his body, the only way out is through his tail, and by doing this you will get heavily damaged. You can basically rinse and repeat the above-mentioned tactics, whether you decide to focus on his legs or infiltrating his body, and kill him with relative ease.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/05.jpg Complete Episode 2 (B)(H)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 2.

Episode 2 has next to no Akrid throughout its three chapters, so choose weapons appropriate for killing soldiers and VSs. There is one boss in the episode, Akrid X (2-3).

[spoiler=Epi2]

Episode Boss – Akrid X

Akrid X is the Episode Boss for Episode 2, who is a huge 4-legged spider Akrid, effectively a larger version of the Chryatis. His weak points are the cores on his four legs, as well as his mouth. The cores on his legs will start off with a rocky layer protecting them, so you simply have to destroy these before getting to the delicious core inside. Same as with Gordiant, your only real options for beating Akrid X are either using the weapons found throughout the area, or using the GAH-42BS Bleed or GAF-15D Drion VSs. Your safest option here is to use the Drion Multi-seat VS. It can be used with one or three people if you want, but the best option here is using two people. This way you can still deal decent damage to him and not have him Akrid X focusing on your Drion, as only half the team will be in the Drion. Basically all you have to do is stay a moderate distance from Akrid X and fire away with your infinite-ammo Vulcan and Shotgun, all the while watching out for his leg sweep attack, and his fireballs. Once his health bar reaches zero, he will collapse. Don’t be fooled though, he soon gets up for round two. This shouldn’t be too daunting, as his second stage is incredibly weak, if not slightly more aggressive. Continue to pummel him with whatever you are using and he should fall in no time, and this time he will be out for the count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/06.jpg Complete Episode 3 (B)(H)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 3.

Same as Episode 2, Episode 3 is focused on soldiers and VSs rather than Akrid. Across its three chapters, there are two bosses, Debouse (3-2) and Red Eye (3-3).

[spoiler=Epi3]

Episode Boss – Red Eye

Strategically speaking, Red Eye is a considerably different boss to every other boss in the game. During the fight, you have control over the Railway Gun, which can be manually loaded and piloted against Red Eye. The Railway Gun has three types of ammo: Cobalt, a general ammo type; Devil’s Roar, specifically for use against the fleshy cores of the Akrid; and Wrath, an armour-piercing shell. To load a shell, simply pick it up and carry it to the loading bay on the top of the train, and then press :circle:. After loading the gun, the shell must be energised. To energise, simply walk to the left of the loading bay and tap :circle: repeatedly. Once the shell is energised, you can fire the cannon. Aim for the cores on the side of Red Eye for maximum damage – but be careful, the cores have protective shells covering them, so it is advised to use the Wrath ammo type against the protective shells for the most damage. Every once and a while, Red Eye will attack the train, damaging it. Once damaged, the train can be repaired by using the Cooling systems directly underneath the Railway Gun. Cooling the train recovers the train’s health bar, indicated by the blue bar above Red Eye’s health. Shoot Red Eye and cool the train until receiving the Good Job message saying “One More Shot!”. Once this pops up, Red Eye will charge the train from behind, and you must either shoot him once with Railway Cannon, or pummel him with the GTN-A01N Turntables on the train. Alternatively, the entire battle can be done without even touching the Railway Cannon – you can kill him start to finish just by using the turntables, the GAN-36 Osprey and the turret found next to the Osprey. Both the Osprey and the turret can be found at the back of the train.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/07.jpg Complete Episode 4 (B)(H)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 4.

Episode 4 is mostly soldier and VS-based, but has some Akrid. With five chapters, Episode 4 is the longest of the chapters. There are two bosses, Tencale 8 (4-3) and Vital Fortress (4-5).

[spoiler=Epi4]

Episode Boss – Vital Fortress

Vital Fortress is the huge experimental weapon first seen in the 2-1 cutscene. The battle takes place entirely underwater, on a pillar-like structure, with Vital Fortress circling around. As Vital Fortress circles you, it will shoot torpedoes at you, which although are homing, can still easily be destroyed or avoided. Vital Fortress will also shoot Interdiction Torpedo, which is more or less a stun torpedo, its effect similar to that of the Ice Breath of Queen Gorechryatis in 1-2. Another attack of Vital Fortress’s is releasing a group of mines, but they simply flow in a straight line, which are easily avoidable. The best way to defeating Vital Fortress is utilising the many VS weapons scattered around the complex, as well as using the GAN-3AM Triseed, which can be found directly underneath the control post that is required to activate to fight the Vital Fortress. The Triseed has two flying modes, one of which has an infinite supply of torpedoes, which is very useful against Vital Fortress. Simply barrage Vital Fortress with the Triseed and the many powerful weapons available to you, and always keep an eye out for mines, torpedoes and Interdiction Torpedoes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/08.jpg Complete Episode 5 (B)(H)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 5.

Episode 5 is another 3-chapter episode, consisting mainly of soldiers and VS units. You’ll encounter two bosses during the episode, Baiztencale (5-2) and Overland Battleship (5-3).

[spoiler=Epi5]

Episode Boss – Overland Battleship

Ah, the Overland Battleship. Technically, it isn’t a boss, but that’s beside the point. To destroy the Overland Battleship, you must initially destroy the four wings and the Overland Battleship Main Cannon, and then infiltrate onto the battleship and activate a control post, keeping it active for a whole minute. For the wings and the cannon, it is best done with one player piloting the Main Cannon, whilst the rest charge the cannon and defend the ship from the incoming GAN-36 Ospreys. As the cannon pilot, the best method for taking out the wings and cannon is charging a shot, and shooting at the wings until the enemy cannon begins to charge, then just focus the shot on the enemy cannon for a second to shut it down. If the enemy cannon charges a shot before you, then the safest option is to get out of the cannon and hide behind cover, as that way the enemy cannon cannot shoot your cannon and destroy it. Once the wings and enemy cannon have been taken out, you will be able to infiltrate the enemy Overland Battleship. From there, both battleships will have a control post to defend, with 1 minute timers. Simply activate the enemy control post and keep it active for 1 minute, all the while defending your own control post from enemy forces.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/09.jpg Complete Episode 6 (B)(H)

Complete all the chapters in Episode 6.

Episode 6 is the final episode of the game, and has four chapters. Split nicely down the middle with chapters one and two revolving around soldiers and VSs, whilst chapters three and four are entirely Akrid-based. Its two bosses are the Brocakti (6-2) and Over G (6-4).

[spoiler=Epi6]

Episode Boss – Over G

For a game that is so focused on its incredibly oversized bosses, you’d think that Capcom might make the last boss a challenge… unfortunately, that’s not the case. Over G is perhaps the easiest boss in the entire game, and to go with that he has the least personality of all the bosses… how much personality can a big orange blob have? Over G consists of large orange tentacles, and you must shoot the tips of these tentacles to uncover a rocky surface. When these rocky surfaces are completely visible, the tentacle will collapse to the ground and will give you a short amount of time to place a GPS system on him. If you’re playing with multiple human players, you have to place three GPS systems on him, and if you’re playing solo, you only have to play a single GPS system. Even on extreme his tentacles can be brought down with as little as four rockets from the standard rocket launcher, and when soloing him that’s effectively all you have to do to defeat him. Once you’ve planted the GPS, whether it is a single GPS or three of them, the NEOS Space Station will fire its laser into the Over G. From this an interactive cinematic ensues, where the barrier around the Over G reconstitutes, and you can shoot it to hold it back, but this doesn’t help or hinder you, as either way the NEOS Space Station comes crashing down on the Over G. It’s as simple as that.

Play through 300 chapters.

To get the chapter playback trophies, you must play through the required number of chapters of the campaign. If you intend on going for the platinum, you will no doubt get the majority of these chapter playbacks whilst going for other trophies, but if you haven’t achieved this by the time you’ve collected all the campaign-related trophies, then you’ll simply have to farm chapter completions. A few good chapters for farming are 5-2 and 5-3, as they're quick to complete, plus they're good for Career Points and Credits if you’re in need of them.

If you haven't yet earned the "Two is Better Than One" trophy, than 4-1 is your best option for completing chapters. It is incredibly fast to complete, and although not as fast as a few other chapters, it is by far the best chapter if you want both areas and chapters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/45.jpg Me Against the World (B)(H)

Complete 93 areas while online without the help of other players.

Areas are defined as each subsection for a chapter. You have to complete 93 of these areas without the help of human players, whilst being online. The easiest way to do this is to have your Connection Type set to PlayStation Network. Then host a game, and set it to have three private slots, so no one can join. It is up to you whether you have AI or not, as they don’t affect the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/46.jpg Two is Better Than One (B)(H)

Complete 386 areas with one or more other players.

Same as “Me Against the World”, but this time you have to do the areas with human players, not without. Once again just have Connection Type set to PlayStation Network, and either join a game or invite a friend – just do the areas with at least one other human player. A good place to farm this trophy is 2-1. Once you've memorised it, with 2 people you can complete it in as little as 5 minutes, and with 4 areas it is the most area-abundant chapter in the game.

NOTE: Whatever you do, DO NOT do 6-4 for areas, as the whole chapter counts as only one area, not 5 or 6, as you might think. An area only counts if you receive the Area Complete screen at the end of the area.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/13.jpg It’s So Easy (B)(H)

Play any combination of chapters 39 times on Easy.

Effectively, this is the same as the above-mentioned chapter playback trophies, except no way near as many chapters required, and on easy. Just complete 39 chapters on Easy and it’s yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/14.jpg Rookie (B)

Complete the game on Easy.

Read “Ultimate Warrior” for details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/16.jpg Super Soldier (B)

Complete the game on Hard.

Read “Ultimate Warrior” for details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/17.jpg Ultimate Warrior (S)(H)

Complete the game on Extreme.

To unlock these difficulty-related trophies, you must complete all the chapters in the six episodes, including the hidden route in Episode 1-2. They do not stack, so you must complete the game four times, once on each difficulty, to unlock them all.

This video shows where to find the hidden route in Episode 1-2:

A list of the Good Job awards you have obtained can be found under My Page > Lists > Good Job Awards. Collect all of these to get the trophy.

Miscellaneous Trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/34.jpg Thermal Energy Reactor (B)(H)

Accumulate a combined total of more than 99999 units of thermal energy.

To accumulate thermal energy, you must pick up the orange goo that is dropped by killing enemies and destroying objects. Accumulating 99999 units of thermal energy isn’t at all difficult and is near-impossible to miss on the first playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/33.jpg Death Wish (B)(H)

Die more than 444 times.

Simply die more than 444 times. This counts across campaign missions, training missions and online matches.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/47.jpg Let’s Go VS Force! (B)(H)

Merge two VS units.

There are two VS units that can be merged: the GAN-34 Granseed and the GAB-25M Cakti. To merge the two VS units, you must have someone piloting both VSs. Then, hold :l3: and :r3: and push them away from each other, this will cause the VS to enter it's merging mode. Finally, both pilots must press :circle: when next to each other to merge into the Brocakti. It can be done on Team Elimination, NEOS Layout 3, as well as Episode 4-3 in the Campaign.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/40.jpg Honeymoon Period (B)(H)

Celebrate your six-month anniversary with LOST PLANET 2.

There are two ways to get this trophy. You can either wait six months from when your save file was created, or you could use clock manipulation :)

To earn it via clock manipulation, you will need to do the following:

  • Sign out from the PlayStation Network if you’re online.
  • From the XMB, go to Settings > Date and Time Settings > Date and Time.
  • Set your date forward by six months.
  • Start up LOST PLANET 2, making sure that you are still signed out.
  • Trophy!
  • Change date back to normal, so you’re not living six months ahead of the rest of us :p

Make sure that you go into the actual game and not just the main menu, as the trophy will unlock from the main menu, but unless you go into the game, you won't receive the I'm Lovin' This Game! nom.

Online Multiplayer Trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/41.jpg Welcome to the Battle! (B)

Play one Online match.

This is simple. You can play any one match, whether it is a Ranked, Player or Faction match, and it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, you just need to finish one match.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/43.jpg Centurion (B)(H)

Win 100 Online Ranked matches.

You have to win 100 Ranked matches, so make sure not to do Player or Faction matches. Chances are you’ll receive this prior to receiving the “War Vet” trophy, but if you’re having some difficulties, don’t play Elimination. With Team Elimination and Post Grab, you have a 50% chance of winning, so you’ll be much better off playing either of these over Elimination.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/42.jpg War Vet (B)(H)

Play 500 Online matches.

Simply play 500 matches online. They can be Ranked, Player or Faction matches, it doesn’t matter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/44.jpg Slayer of a Thousand Men (B)(H)

Achieve 1000 kills in Online matches.

Same with “War Vet”, they can be obtained in any of the three match types. You will most definitely have this before getting “Centurion” and “War Vet”.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/48.jpg Hot Shot (B)(H)

Gain promotion to the rank of Gunner.

Gunner is the 10th Online Player Rank you can achieve. The ranking system is based upon how well you play in a game. Place in the top half of your players and you'll receive experience towards your next promotion. Place in the bottom half and you'll lose experience. If you place in the top 3 every game, you can hit Gunner within about 20-30 matches.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/334/49.jpg Professional Turncoat (B)(H)

Fight for a number of different factions in Faction Match.

To get this trophy, you need to play as three of the five different factions in Faction Match. Faction Matches span a whole week and you can only play as one faction per Faction Match, so it will take a minimum of three weeks to obtain this.

Thanks for a great trophy guide. Not that I will ever get a plat but will help me get alot closer!! :applause:

Can't believe some of the trophies and bronze to boot!

Happy to help :D Many may be bronze, but when you unlock your first silver in this game, it has the same feeling as unlocking a platinum :p

Nice guide. Just a few things, I know the roadmap isn't yours but I don't get the trophy breakdown :o

Also, alot of the images (they are possibly the trophy icons) aren't loading correctly. I don't know if it's just me but I thought I would point it out.

Thanks :) What don't you understand about the trophy breakdown? I'll change it to make sense.

Are you looking at the images on the PS3 internet browser? Some of the trophy tiles I had to put in multiple times, as they managed to delete themselves every time I went over the 10000 Character limit (which happened a lot, mind you). On Firefox, those images that got deleted don't appear whatsoever, but when I look at it from my PS3 browser, the deleted images appear as the red crosses, though the final trophy icons load both on Firefox and PS3 Browser, for me at least.

EDIT: I've just checked, and they're also popping up in Internet Explorer. I'll get rid of it all now.

All fixed.

Hmm

I have an Idea why don't we make a Seperate Thread showcasing Images of Bosses/VS's and Akrid and just link to that thread in the bottom post should only take me 5 -10 mins to make it

Yeah I was gonna do that, but originally I was gonna do all the VS locations, but after realising that discovering all locations means playing all game types on all maps on all layouts, I gave up. I may make one tomorrow.

Cool, although it isn't yet finished, I'll link it. You can find many of the images you're missing on the Lost Planet wiki, and many of the VS images that you posted are still in that thread somewhere.

Lets Go VS Force!

Me and my wife did this many times last night on split screen from chapter 4-3 on easy. We never got the trophy although did get the updated VS manual and watched it all happen many times over. We swapped which one we were controlling both times and still nothing.

Anyone esle have this issuse? I have yet to find anyone online who even messes with this they just blow threw the level when I play 4-3 online.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions. Thinking maybe we should try it on normal? Although does not make much sence that way.

Oh that explains it. Although it does keep track of kills and such becuase I mostly play splitscreen and got the 100 VS kills along with one of the other counting kills one along with each chapter cleared. I also think I earned the 9999 thermal energy trophy while in spiltscreen. I am also hoping that it counts for chapters played.

It looks like the merge VS trophy is the only trophy like that one that is done quick or earned in one chapter.

Now trying to find someone online who just is not trying to blow threw the levels for exp.
