Roadmap

Special thanks to F8L Fool, bizarro10111, Bahamut, ZenVan, whassupbun and the entire PS3t community for making this guide possible.

Overview:

Estimated trophy difficulty: N/A

Offline trophies: 51 (40(B), 8(S), 2(G), 1(P))

Online trophies: 0

Approximate amount of time to (P): 50+ hours

Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

Number of missable trophies: 3 (Out of Your League, Open Sesame and A Wink and a Smile)

Glitched Trophies: 1 - Loremaster

Does difficulty affect trophies? Yes, you must complete the game on Hard to earn Destiny Dominated.

Do cheat codes disable trophies: N/A

Glitched Trophy:

This glitch has only been reported by one user so far, ZenVan, but if you get it, it is a pretty significant glitch. Here is what happened to ZenVan and his work around.

Wencai dungeon - Southern Alabastra - 2nd Autumn lorestone

When you enter this dungeon you will see an NPC named Orto locked in a cage. DO NOT interact with him right away! Instead run to the first room that has multiple baddies including two big Baeshanes (sp?) and clear the room. Now go back and talk to the NPC and continue on. His survival is vital to acquiring a lorestone.

For whatever reason, maybe because I was playing it on hard, old Orto got himself killed in the first room and prevented me from passing a door to get to the second (and my final) lorestone. Whether this was a fluke in my game, I have no idea but be safe and follow this tip to ensure you don't screw yourself out of the hard earned Loremaster trophy.

I had to revert to an older save in which I had to go back and find 60 stones again. Again play it safe here especially since this dungeon is near the end area of the game.

Introduction:

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a new single player RPG game produced by EA and 38 Studios. It boasts the written word of famous author R.A. Salvatore, most noted for his Forgotten Realms works, the artistic styles of Spawn’s creator Todd McFarlane, and the designing talent of Ken Rolston, designer of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. With such a brilliant team behind it, it is no surprise that Kingdoms of Amalur was a giant hit in the gaming community. It boasts story and quest lines to rival that of any RPG on the market today, and a combat system that is up with, if not past, the best. It boasts an amazing, giant, beautiful open world to explore. Any gamer would be a fool to pass on this amazing game.

Step One:

Start a new game on Hard difficulty. Do Out of Your League as soon as possible, and keep an eye out for persuasion attempts for A Wink and a Smile. Other than those two, there are no missable trophies, so simply go through the game and enjoy yourself. Hard mode isn’t overly hard, so don’t worry too much about that. Run through the main storyline. This will get you all plot related trophies, as well as Destiny Dominate for beating the game on Hard.

Step Two:

Mop up. Go back and collect every trophy you haven’t obtained yet. I finished the game with under 50% of the trophies, so you will probably have quite a few left to collect. Luckily they are all fairly straight forward, so simply follow the guide and you should have no issue.

** I am still adding some small things in, but the guide is fairly complete as is **

FAQ

Normally guides don’t include this, but as there are many aspects of Kingdoms that you would not encounter simply by following a trophy guide, I found that this section was extremely important.

Question: What are the differences between the starting classes, and which one is better?

Answer: There is very little difference between the starting classes. At each level, you get one point that you can place into your ‘Skills’. Each class starts off with a different arrangement of four pre-placed points. These bonuses are:

- Almain (Human): Blacksmithing +2, Alchemy +1, Persuasion +1

- Varani (Human): Lockpicking +2, Detect Hidden +1, Mercantile +1

- Ljosalfar (Light Elves): Dispelling +2, Alchemy +1, Sagecraft +1

- Dokkalfar (Dark Elves): Stealth +2, Persuasion +1, Sagecraft +1

Obviously there is no ‘best’ race. However, some of these skills are more beneficial at early levels, while some are more useful later in the game, when you probably have enough points anyway. Most of the crafting skills are much less useful early in the game, meaning that at the point in the game when you won’t just have enough points for this not to matter, the worst skills are: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Sagecraft, and Mercantile. However, picking locks is also ridiculously easy in this game, so Lockpicking is a skill that you won’t ever want points in. I made up my own little value system, very basic, to evaluate each class for their early game advantage, putting weighting on each of the skills.

Lockpicking = 0 points

Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Sagecraft, Mercantile = 0.5 points

Detect Hidden, Dispelling, Persuasion, Stealth = 1 point

From this we can see that:

Almain = 2.5 points

Varani = 1.5 points

Ljosalfar = 3 points

Dokkalfar = 3.5 points

For the early game, I feel that Dokkalfar has a huge advantage over the other races. But keep in mind this is entirely personal preference, especially in the lockpicking valuing. Pick based on your own playstyle.

Question: What do each of the skills actually do for me?

Answer: There are nine skills that your character can put a point into each time they level up. These skills are: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Detect Hidden, Dispelling, Lockpicking, Mercantile, Persuasion, Sagecraft, and Stealth. These skills all have different effects on your gameplay. A brief overview of each is given below:

Alchemy – This skill allows you to have a higher success rate when harvesting reagents (plants) around Amalur, which can then be used to create potions. More points in Alchemy also allows you to create better potions.

Blacksmithing – This skill makes your repair kits more effective, causing each usage to repair your armour and weapons more efficiently. You will also be able to salvage parts for crafting from enemies. More points in Blacksmithing also allows you to create better armour and weapons, allowing you to add more components onto a single item.

Detect Hidden – This skill allows you, quite literally, to detect things that would otherwise be hidden. This is a very multi-purpose skill. Early levels allow you to detect enemies on your map, while later levels allow you to see otherwise hidden doorways and lorestones on your map. Each point in Detect Hidden will also increase how much gold you find when looting chests and enemies.

Dispelling – This skill allows you to dispel wards, found protecting chests, more effectively. Each point will decrease the difficulty of dispelling wards. Each point will also increase your probability to auto-dispel a ward.

Lockpicking – This skill allows you to pick locks more effectively. With more points in lockpicking, you will be able to force progressively more difficult locks without having to pick them.

Mercantile – This skill improves prices when dealing with merchants, in terms of buying and selling. More points in this skill will allow you to retain a percentage of an item’s value when you destroy it (useful for treasure salvaging with limited inventory space).

Persuasion – This skill increases the probability that you will be successful when attempting to convince an NPC of something. More points in this skill will decrease your bribe costs, when you are attempting to absolve yourself of a crime.

Sagecrafting – This skill increases your proficiency when using a Sagecraft Altar, as well as causing better shards to drop from enemies. Sagecraft Altars allow you to combine shards to create gems which can be socketed into certain weapons and armour at a Blacksmith Forge.

Stealth – This skill allows you to sneak more effectively, so that NPCs, monster and neutral alike, will have a harder time detecting you. This is useful for pickpocketing and for doing sneak attacks to enemies.

For more information, see: Reckoning: Skills

Question: What are the differences between the different Ability trees?

Answer: There are three different Ability trees. They are: Might, Finesse, and Sorcery. Each tree is extremely different, and will be the guideline for how you play. Don’t worry, you can reset points if you make a mistake. Each tree represents fairly typical classes in most RPGs.

Might – the typical warrior. Those in the Might tree use Longswords, Greatswords, and Hammers. They rely mostly on their brute strength, while using abilities mostly to position themselves or enemies, and keep enemies stunned.

Finesse – the rogue. Those in the Finesse tree use Daggers, Faeblades, and Longbows. They are stealthy and rely on sneaking up on enemies and laying traps. They also have an extensive knowledge of poison and ways to cause prolonged bleeding for stealth attacks followed by retreating.

Sorcery – the mage. Those in the Sorcery tree use Staffs, Scepters, and Chakrams. They don’t have much health, but they make up for that with magical defenses, and their insane damage. They require time to cast skills, so positioning is important, but if they get a skill off properly, most enemies won’t be getting up.

Question: Where can I get more storage?

Answer: There are two ways to get more storage. First, you can purchase more backpacks. Each backpack you purchase, and then use, gives you a permanent bonus of 10 inventory slots. There are five different merchants you can buy backpacks from, to give you a total inventory space of 120. These merchants, and their locations, are:

- Rikka Egest - The Corner Shop, Gorhart (Odarst)

- Wil Donall - Scholia Arcana, Rathir (Tywili Coast)

- Riona Helt - Asker's Alley, Ysa (The Sidhe)

- Senecer Macit - Domus Politica, Adessa (Apotyre)

- Illyn Doldran - Mel Senshir (Cursewood)

The second way to get more storage is to obtain a house. The earliest point in the game that you can obtain a house is when you first arrive in Canneroc, which is east-south-east from Gorhart, the first town you encounter. When you first enter the town, you will be attacked by giant spiders. Defeat them and you will trigger a quest. Finish the quest and spare the man at the end (I spared him, I am unsure whether you will get the house if you decide to kill him) and you will get a key to your first house. Inside is a chest which you can use to store items inside.

Question: What are trainers, and where can I find them?

Answer: Trainers are NPCs who will permanently increase one of your skills, for a fee. There are many to be found throughout Amalur. Basic Trainers can increase your skill when you have the skill level 0-3. Advanced trainers can increase the skill when you have the skill level 4-6. You can only use each trainer once. Question: What are curses, and how do I remove them?

Answer: Curses are debuffs that you can get from certain enemies, or breaking wards on chests. They will cause you to have a passive negative status effect, which you can view by going into the :start: menu and selecting Status, Effects. They can be removed by going to a healer, or using a purification potion, which can be bought or created at an alchemy shop.

Obtain all other trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/A81.jpgHouse of Ballads(S)

Completed the House of Ballads storyline quests.

To join the House of Ballads, you will have to go to Gorguath and defeat the Grave Thresh, and collect the Ring of Sir Sagrell (this quest is called Song of Sir Sagrell). Once you have done this, head back to the House of Ballads and they will allow you to join their ranks. You will then be given a set of missions to complete before you get this trophy. These are:

- Ballad of Bloody Bones

- Two Knights and a Troll

- What Lies Beneath

- The Champions

- Cursed Kingdom

- The Hero and the Maid

Once you finish The Hero and the Maid, you will receive a Twist of Fate card and this trophy.

Completed the House of Sorrows storyline quests.

In Mol Senshir, you will be accosted while traveling towards one of your main story objectives, Silence Falls. This can only be done after you have finished the main storyline which ends in Battle for Mel Senshir. You will have to complete the following quests in this storyline:

- The Sorrows Call

- Voices of the Dead

- A House Divided

- The Eldest

- The Weeping King

- Such Sweet Sorrow

Once you have completed Such Sweet Sorrow, you will receive a Twist of Fate Card and this trophy.

- Shardfall

- Lightning in a Bottle

Once you complete Revelation, you will receive a Twist of Fate Card and this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/540.jpgTravelers(S)

Completed the Travelers storyline quests.

When you go near Star Camp, you will be addressed by Grim Onwig outside their gates. He will ask you if you want to join the Travelers. Going through this quest will force you to steal 3 items. Do so and turn in the quest (The Guided Hand) to become part of the Travelers. You will then have to complete these missions to earn the trophy:

- The Silent Step

- Jail Break

- Something Borrowed

- Going Rogue

- Mirror Mirror

- Outside the Box

- Classic Misdirection

- The Purloined Letters

- Thick as Thieves

Once you finish Thick as Thieves you will receive a Twist of Fate Card and this trophy.

For the Travelers Storyline quests, you can kill people instead of stealing things from them. In some instances this is much faster and easier than actually going through the effort of stealing. Just make sure you have the cash to pay off the guards. Also be sure to talk to them before you try and steal in case they have a persuasion attempt.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/AC4.jpgWarsworn(S)

Completed the Warsworn storyline quests.

This quest line is started by talking to Ost Odura, in the first town, Gorhart, in the Inn. The quests you need to complete in this quest line are:

- The Commendation

- The Road Patrol

- The Heart of Sibun

- Lock and Key

- House of No Doors

- The Isle of Eamonn

- The Mystic Hammer

- The Mountain Prison

Once you complete The Mountain Prisoner, you will receive a Twist of Fate Card and this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/34A.jpgReckoning Rampage(B)

Killed 5 enemies with a single Fateshift.

Simply defeat 5 enemies while in a single Reckoning Mode, which will be shown as ready by the full purple bar under your health at the top left. It can be filled by doing combos and defeating enemies. Once the bar is full, use Reckoning Mode by pressing :l1: + :r1: and defeat 5 or more enemies, finishing off by using a Fateshift (:cross: when prompted). If you kill 5 or more, this trophy will pop. If you are having trouble with this trophy, simply head into the wilderness near the start of the game. The sprite camps that appear are often 5 or more large.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/F43.jpgNiskaru Slayer(B)

Killed 25 Niskaru.

Niskaru are a strong type of enemy that will attack you throughout the game, most commonly when doing main story or faction quest lines. That being said, this trophy will come during natural game progression.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/634.jpgOut of Your League(B)

Killed an enemy 4 levels higher than you.

Kill an enemy four or more levels higher than you. You will know an enemy is four or more levels higher because their name will show up in red. It is suggested that you get this trophy right at the start of the game, as this will be the easiest time in which to obtain it. If you do not get it your first time through the game, it should take less than an hour to grab it on a new playthrough. Simply rush through Allestar Tower, then when you enter the open world part of the game, head due east until you meet up with enemies with red names. If you are having trouble defeating them, try having Reckoning Mode ready, and using it.

Easy method of getting Out of Your League at any point, thanks to wassupbun for the tipoff.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSSC3pji3cI]Kingdoms of Amalur - Easy 'Out of your League' Trophy/Achievement [PS3/HD] - YouTube[/ame]

Another way to get this trophy, if you are far into the game, is to go to a dungeon in Alabastra called Primordia, it is just west of Camp Moondawn. The enemies in there are around level 35, so even if you have beaten the game, you can probably get this trophy there. Bring a lot of potions, the beginning mob consists of around 6 enemies with a lot of health, and they sap your mana.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/CA8.jpgCleaning Up the Streets(B)

Killed 50 bandits.

The ‘bandits’ do not need to have the word bandit in their name. Almost any human that attacks you in the wilderness – not within an area, those are separate – will count towards this trophy. The Freemen will be the ones you defeat most commonly. If you are having trouble with this trophy, wander around outside, and make sure to approach seemingly deserted campsites – that is where they often lay in wait.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/C08.jpgBlades of Glory(B)

Acquired 10 Unique weapons (Special Delivery weapons excluded).

Obtain 10 weapons labeled as ‘Unique’. You can tell a weapon is unique because it will appear in purple. After you have collected 10 purple labeled weapons (armour does not count towards this), you will receive this trophy. The trophy description is correct, special delivery items do not count towards the total, so if you buy DLC it will not count here.

Unique quest items do count towards this number. I got my trophy off of the second to last Warsworn quest reward

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/065.jpgFoiled Again!(B)

Parried 100 times.

You can block by pressing :l1:. If you block just before an enemy hits you, you will execute a parry, which will cause time to slow down and give you a window to deal increased damage, or execute a special attack if you have unlocked one of the two skills that allow you to do so. Lower leveled enemies attack slower, so if you are having trouble with this trophy, head back to the starting areas.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/A99.jpgTrapper(B)

Killed 25 enemies with traps.

Simply kill 25 enemies by having them walk over traps. Frost Traps are found extremely early within the Finesse tree, and can be used to deal a small amount of damage to enemies. If you are having trouble with this trophy, there are a couple of easier ways to get it.

First: Attack enemies until they are one hit from death, and then lead them over a previously placed trap to deal the final blow.

Second: Go back to this at a much higher level, and head back to one of the beginning areas, where the monsters are extremely low level. Simply place a trap and then walk near an enemy to agro it, and then lead it over the trap, likely killing it instantly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/FF8.jpgRiposte!(B)

Landed 25 special attacks out of Parry.

You will need one of two skills to launch a special attack after a parry. The first is Brutal Weaponry IV, which is in the Might tree. To unlock this skill, you need at least 50 points in the Might tree, meaning you must be at least level 16. You also must have at least one point in Brutal Weaponry III, which requires a point in Brutal Weaponry II, which requires a point in Brutal Weaponry I. Brutal Weaponry IV allows you to perform a special attack using a Longsword, Greatsword, or Hammer.

The second skill is Precise Weaponry IV, from the Finesse tree. You obtain it identically to how you obtain Brutal Weaponry IV, with a point in each of the preceding abilities and a minimum of 50 points in Finesse. This allows you to perform a special attack with a Dagger of Faeblade.

To actually perform a special attack, you will need one of the two above skills. Then, once you have parried (see Foiled Again!), you will have a prompt to unleash a special attack. Do so 25 times for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/DAA.jpgWould You Like Fries with That?(B)

Landed 100 complete attack chains.

Simply land 100 chains of attack. Every weapon will have a sequence of attacks which you can combo by pressing :square: or :triangle: repeatedly, all will be fairly obvious when the combo has ended, as there will be a significant pause before the next attack. Have 100 full combos strike enemies and this trophy will pop. This will come in the course of normal gameplay.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/B6D.jpgShock and Awe(B)

Killed 100 enemies with abilities.

See And Then There Were None.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/698.jpgAnd Then There Were None(B)

Killed 500 enemies with abilities.

Defeat 500 enemies with a magic derived ability (:r1: + :cross:/:square:/:triangle:/:circle:). You only have to do the final blow with a magical ability, so whittling down an enemy with basic attacks, then using magic to finish it off is an effective way of farming this trophy. If you are having trouble finishing off this trophy, head back to the first areas and use abilities to one-hit-kill all enemies you encounter. Area of effect abilities are especially effective for farming with this method.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/197.jpgJuggler(S)

Landed 5 consecutive hits on a launched enemy.

There are several ways to accomplish this. In the Might tree, you can use Wrath to launch an enemy, in the Finesse tree you can use Gambit to launch an enemy. Then just hit the enemy as many times as possible before it lands. You can also simply do the method right at the start of the game where you use a longsword to attack, then pause, then attack again. This should launch the enemy into the air. Then pull out a ranged weapon, for instance, the bow that you start off with, and shoot as fast as possible. You should be able to land at least 5 hits before they touch the ground.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/046.jpgElixer of Fate(B)

Made a potion with the Essence of Fate.

You will earn this for creating a potion which has at least one component as 'Essence of Fate'. The one I used was a Fate Potion. It should be listed in the ‘Create’ tab at the alchemist; I didn’t have to do any experimenting to unlock it. The fate potion is created by combining 4 Essence of Fate.

What you need to be sure of is that you are creating the potion from the "Create" tab, if you experiment and succeed you won't get the trophy because you didn't actually create a potion, when you successfully experiment you get a potion for free.

So imo the easiest way to get this trophy is leveling your Alchemy to 7 (not sure if that's the correct number, but up to the point when you can use Essences of Fate) and learning how to make a Master Healing Potion via experimentation combining 3x Black Cohosh + 2x Embreyes + 1x Bloodroot + 1x Essence of Fate. After you learn the recipe go to the "Create" tab and make the potion from there, and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/EEC.jpgIt Didn’t Explode!(B)

Made a stable potion by experimenting.

Simply experiment with recipes until you find a proper potion recipe. I suggest creating a Minor Healing Potion, as this is a simple recipe that will be useful, especially early. This recipe is created by combining:

2x Black Cohosh + 1x Embereyes.

Note that though it requires 2 Black Cohosh per use, the Black Cohosh only takes up one slot in the experiment, so you will only need two total slots (which you start with) to create this potion. Do not worry about specifying quantity, it will automatically adjust for you after you complete the experiment.

Here is a list of all possible potion combinations: Alchemy

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/68D.jpgGreen Thumb(B)

Harvested 10 of each type of reagent.

There are 19 different types of reagents. They are as follows:
Bloodroot

Seaflax

Secret Flowerstone

Scarwood Bark

Skyblossom

Tindertwig

Black Cohosh

White Flake

Eel Petal

Scarab Salts

Star Thistle

Softscrabble Powder

Sativa Fibers

Cripplescore Caps

Edelweiss

Ysa’s Breath

Embereyes

Leechwood Bark

Prismere Dust

You can collect a reagent by walking up to it and clicking :cross:. You will not always receive a reagent when you attempt to harvest one, but you can increase your chances of being successful by putting more points into Alchemy. Reagents respawn quite often, so though this trophy is a giant pain, it is not missable.

Here is a helpful guide I found if you are having trouble finding the last few: Reagent Guide

The respawn time is actually two days, which can be tracked in the menu screen. The way to get around the respawn time is just to sleep in a bed that you own for two days then go get the reagents.

A great way to farm more than half of the reagents is at Seawatch castle at the middle-right of the Caeled Coast. You do a quest to restore it and there is a ton of reagents there. Farm them, sleep for 2 days, repeat.

Here is a list of all reagents: Alchemy

**Note: There is some debate over whether Essence of Fate is actually a 20th reagent that is required for this trophy. I am unable to comment, having farmed Essences unintentionally.**

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/82C.jpgGood as New(B)

Repaired a piece of equipment.

There is two ways you can repair your equipment. The first is to go to a blacksmith, which you can find in most towns, talk to the blacksmith, and ask them to repair your equipment for a fee. The second way is to find a repair kit and use it. Repair kits can be used by going into the :start: menu, selecting Inventory, Items, finding Repair Kit, and selecting use. Then simply select the item you would like to repair.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/FAD.jpgShop Class(B)

Crafted a piece of equipment with Blacksmithing.

Simply go to a Blacksmith Forge and create an item. You will need different required materials for each basic creation. You only need to create an item for this trophy, it doesn’t have to have any specific number of components going into it, though the minimum is two.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/652.jpgMaster of the Forge(B)

Crafted an item that uses all 5 forge component slots.

To create an item that uses all five forge slots you will need to have Blacksmithing level 7 or higher (which requires you to be level 8). Once you have level 7 Blacksmithing, you will need the components to create an item. You can buy materials from local merchants if you haven’t found enough yet. The last slot, labeled ‘Bonus’ can only be filled by a gem, which can be bought, or created using Sagecrafting. I found that only certain gems would go into certain types of equipment, though it was not clearly labeled which would match up. On the Blacksmith Forge main hub, it will have all of the components in a row when you are choosing what to create. If you have at least one of each component compatible to that item, all of the components will be lit up.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/2F0.jpgRomancing the Gem(B)

Crafted an Epic Gem.

To create an Epic Gem, you must have Sagecrafting level 8 or higher (which requires you to be level 16). To create an Epic Gem, you will need two Pristine Shards, which you can craft (see Diamond in the Rough), find, or buy. Then simply find a Sagecraft Altar, select Craft Gems, Epic Gems. Then choose any two Pristine Shards (you can use the same type) and combine them for this trophy.

Here is a list of all the available Epic Gems, and the components needed: Sagecrafting

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/4BE.jpgDiamond in the Rough(B)

Crafted a Pristine Shard.

To craft a Pristine Shard, you will need at least level 3 Sagecraft. You will need two Lambent Shards. These can be obtained by finding them, buying them, or crafting them by combining two Cloudy Shards. When you have two Lambent Shards and level 3 Sagecrafting, go to a Sagecraft Altar and select Craft Gems, Strengthen Gems. Then choose any two Lambent Shards (you can use the same type) and combine them for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/EE7.jpgThey Never Saw it Coming(B)

Backstabbed 20 enemies.

This is easiest done when you have several points in Stealth. Simply sneak up behind an enemy using :r2:. As long as no one detects your approach, when you are directly behind the enemy, stab it using the attack button (:square: or :triangle:) for whichever slot you have your Dagger or Faeblade in. These are the only two weapons that can backstab, so make sure you have one of them handy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/815.jpgCartographer(B)

Discovered 100 locations.

Simply discover 100 areas around the map. This will most likely come during the course of normal gameplay, including the faction quests. If it does not, simply travel to an area on your map which does not have many markers, and explore the area.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/D66.jpgThe Great Detective(B)

Detected 25 hidden things.

Simply use the action button (:cross:) when you are nearby a hidden stash. This is made far easier by having two points in Detect Hidden, which will allow hidden locations to appear on your map.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/FB1.jpgLoremaster(B)

Found all Lorestones.

Lorestones are scattered throughout the world. When you see one, to ‘find’ it, you will have to walk up and activate it with :cross:. This will prompt a narrator’s voice to tell you lore about the area, hence the name Lorestone. There are 175 lorestones in total, and you will need to collect every one for this trophy. You will need at least level 5 Detect Hidden to find the lorestones, since there are several behind secret doors, which can only be opened with 5 or more points in detect hidden. It would be extremely beneficial to have a full 10 points in detect hidden for your lorestone search, as that makes lorestones appear on your map as well. If you don’t want to invest all those points into Detect Hidden however, you can use the guide listed below.

Here is a guide to help find all of the lorestones: Lorestones Guide

**Note: There is a reported glitch with this trophy, see glitches at the top for more information. **

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/A57.jpgBookworm(B)

Read 50 books.

Simply read 50 books. This can be easily done by going into houses, finding bookshelves, and looting them. Instead of actually stealing the books they contain, just read them (:square: + :square:), then leave. That way you will not have committed a crime, and will have another book read.

I purchased 10+ books at three different locations. Sadly I can't remember the name of two of them, but Adessa is the main one.

In Adessa, go to the first store called "Arcadium" and save after you open the door. After saving, walk straight ahead to Arthesa Lille, talk to her, then open her shop. She sells sixteen books that will set you back roughly 9,000 depending on your mercantile skill. You can read them all and see if the trophy pops. If it pops just load your save and enjoy the trophy. If it doesn't you can either continue on if you have the expendable cash, or restart and return later to repeat the process.

While you're still in Adessa go check out the various buildings. The Domicus will net you 3 or 4 books, Sandstone Villa has a few, and the Bursar has 4 as well.

In total Adessa has roughly 30 books to be had. Take advantage of it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/2D3.jpgBig Spender(B)

Spent 200,000 gold.

Unless you are extremely stingy, this will come during the course of natural gameplay. And even if you are extremely stingy, you will have well over 200, 000 gold when you finish the game. If you want this trophy without actually spending the money, go to the most expensive shop you can, save, buy them out, wait for the trophy to pop, and then reload your saved file. This trophy is cumulative.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/44E.jpgFive Fingered Discount(B)

Stole and fenced an item.

You can steal an item in one of two ways. One: pickpocket someone. This can be done by activating stealth mode (:r2:) and sneaking up behind someone, pressing :cross: when prompted. Be careful, if they notice you it will be counted as a crime, and you will have to go to jail or pay a fine. The second method is stealing from a chest or bookshelf or other inanimate object. You will know you are stealing because the ‘Loot’ option will be in red. Again, if you are caught, you will have to go to jail or pay a fine. You can check if anyone is watching by entering stealth mode and seeing if anyone is noticing you. If they are, the marker above their head will be vibrant red. Once you have stolen an item, you can sell it to the merchants in Star Camp, Moon Camp, or Sun Camp. If you have 10 points in Mercantile, you can sell stolen items to any merchant. Otherwise, simply go to a camp. After you have sold the item, this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/310.jpgWhere’s My Wallet?(B)

Pickpocketed 20 times.

Easiest done with several points in Stealth. Sneak up behind an NPC (:r2: to enter stealth), friendly or enemy, as long as it is a human you will be given an option to pickpocket them. Make sure that they haven’t noticed you, or pickpocketing will not count towards this trophy. Try to take only one item at a time, so you can pickpocket the same person multiple times and have each attempt count towards this trophy.

Go to Adessa during the day and the streets will be flooded with NPC's. If you are already maxed out on what your stealth can be at your particular level, just proceed to pick pocketing people over and over again until it pops. If it isn't maxed then head over to the fateweaver (Simon Crowe, bottom right path of the map) and save your game before unbinding your destiny. Then max out your stealth and get to pick pocketing.

While you're there you can pick up the 16 books from the Arcadium, do the crime trophies, and even purchase 200k worth of goods at the weapon to force the Big Spender trophy to pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/F27.jpgJailbreak(B)

You broke out of jail.

To begin, you will have to get caught committing a crime. There are a couple of easy ways to do this. One, get caught pickpocketing. This is extremely easy. Simply enter stealth mode (:r2:), go up behind someone, and press :cross:. Make sure you are noticed before you do this to get caught. Another way is to assault or murder someone. To do this, again enter stealth mode (:r2:) and press . This will put you in Aggravated mode, which will allow you to attack neutral NPCs. Do either of these things and a guard will run up to you. At this point you can choose to either pay the fine (Crime Doesn’t Pay), or you can chose to resist arrest, or you can chose to go to jail. Chose jail. Once in jail, make a save file. This is because you will only have one lockpick, so if it breaks, you will be unable to get this trophy on this attempt, and will have to be sent to jail again. Once you have made your save file, simply walk over to the door and pick the lock, reloading if you fail. Once you have succeeded, you will receive this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/3BC.jpgA Life of Crime(B)

Got caught committing a crime 25 times.

The easiest ways to get caught committing a crime are listed above, in Jailbreak. A really easy way to get this trophy is to make sure you have a lot of money on you (100, 000 should be more than enough), and assault a guard. He will immediately ask you to either pay the fine or go to jail. Chose to pay the fine, then immediately hit him again. Keep doing this until the trophy pops. If you don’t want to waste a lot of money doing this, make a save beforehand, and reload after you get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/05E.jpgSome of This, Some of That(B)

Unlocked a two-class hybrid destiny.

You unlock this trophy by having points in two different ability trees. The earliest split destinies can be unlocked when you have 6 points in two different destinies (2 in all three destinies for Jack of All Trades). Do not go out of your way to get this trophy. If you are playing a pure or split tree character, do not waste points just for this trophy. Instead, when you have enough money, go to a Fateweaver, and ask them to reset your destiny. Then put at least 6 points in two different trees (and 2 in the third for Jack of all Trades). After you confirm, you will receive this trophy. If you don’t want to waste the money resetting your character, make a save file before you do.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/BCB.jpgIt is Your Destiny(B)

Unlocked a top tier destiny.

Top tier destinies are unlocked when you have 109 points in a single ability tree. Since you get 3 points at each level, the earliest you can unlock this is level 36, since you start with 3 points at level 0. The top tier destinies are called: Warlord (Might tree), Nightblade (Finesse tree), and Archmage (Sorcery tree). If you are going a split destiny, you probably won’t get this during natural gameplay. If this is the case, simply see a Fateweaver to reset your destiny and reassign points into a single tree. If you do not want to waste money, make a save file before you do this, then after the trophy pops, reload.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/A9F.jpgJack of All Trades(B)

Unlocked a Jack of All Trades destiny.

See Some of This, Some of That.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/0E3.jpgBreaking and Entering(B)

Picked 50 locks.

This will likely come during the course of natural gameplay. As everyone has said, the locks in this game are a joke. Simply pick the locks on 50 chests as you go through the game and this trophy will pop.

To pick a lock, first find a chest which is locked. It is impossible to tell if a chest is locked or not by its appearance, you will have to go up to it to see the (Locked) subtitle on it. The difficulty will also be listed, these vary from Very Easy to Very Hard. Once you have found a chest, attempt to pick it by using the action button (:cross:). You will need a lockpick to do this. Each time you fail to pick the lock, you will break a lockpick, so it is a good idea to have several handy. Once you enter the lockpicking screen, you will see a lockpick along the bottom and a gear along the top. If you ever played any Bethesda game (Elder Scrolls/Fallout), this is very similar. Simply use the :rs: to align the lockpick, then use :ls: to move the gear. If you are in the wrong place, the lockpick will start to quiver, and if you push it further, it will break. It will quiver less the closer you are to the correct placement. Keep trying until you get the proper placement, then slide the gear straight across to gain access to the chest.

You can also force locks. Your success rate increases as you raise lockpicking, and if you have enough points in it, you will always succeed with certain difficulties of locks. The ranks are as follows:

Level 4 – You always succeed when forcing Very Easy locks.

Level 7 – You always succeed when forcing Easy locks.

Level 8 – You always succeed when forcing Average locks.

Level 10 – You always succeed when forcing Hard locks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/01A.jpgOpen Sesame(B)

Dispelled 50 wards.

Some chests you come across will be warded. You can tell if a chest is warded because it will give off a purple glow, and when you approach it, it will say that it is warded, and display the difficulty of the ward, ranging from Very Easy to Very Hard. To dispel a ward, you will have to activate all of the green circles around the ring. This can be done by pressing :cross: while your cursor is overtop of them. Each circle will have a timer on it once activated, and if the timer runs out, you will have to reactivate that ward. If you miss, and click on the ring itself, all of the wards will deactivate, and you will have to reactivate them all. There will also be a timer outside of the circle, and if you run out of time, the ward will explode regardless of how close you are to dispelling it. There are also dark circles on the ring, and if you hit one of them, the ward will explode. You can also attempt to Auto Dispel each ward, with a percentage of success. The percentage starts off at 10, and will increase with more points in Dispelling. Auto Dispelling wards WILL count towards your total dispelled wards.

Dispelling these wards is a lot easier with points in Dispelling. Each point in dispelling will give you the bonus: “Decreases difficulty when dispelling magical wards.”

The additional bonuses for each point in Dispelling are as follows:

Level 2 – You can fail to dispel a ward once before it will explode.

Level 4 – Dark sigils are removed from wards.

Level 7 - You can fail to dispel a ward twice before it will explode.

Level 10 - Ward glyphs regenerate much more slowly.

Note: This trophy is listed as missable because though there are hundreds of chests you can do this on, there are technically a finite number out there. If you fail them all, you will have to do a second playthrough to get 50. That being said, don't worry about this, you won't have any trouble dispelling 50, even if you don't dispell a single one for your first 50 hours of gameplay.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/293.jpgA Wink and a Smile(B)

You have succeeded at 50 Persuasion attempts.

Throughout the game, you will encounter opportunities to attempt to persuade NPCs to believe you. These attempts will show up in green on the decision wheel, and will have a percentage of success listed beside them. You can increase this percentage by increasing your Persuasion skill. Unfortunately, there are a limited number of persuasions in this game, so this trophy is missable. To avoid failing this trophy, see the thread that bizarro10111 created, compiling all persuasion opportunities (Persuasion Hints). Before you get to each opportunity, save the game. That way, if you fail, you can reload and try again, making this trophy simple.

There is more than one method of persuading a NPC in this game. There are many instances where having enough skill points in any given skill will prompt you to persuade someone. I have done two Detect Hidden persuasions, a Blacksmith persuasion, an Alchemy persuasion, and a Stealth persuasion. Not only that, but when they appear it is without a chance to fail. They too count towards the total and are a great incentive to find all the skill books and do training every chance you get as early on as possible.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/0C9.jpgBull in a China Shop(B)

Smashed 1,000 objects.

Destroy every crate and pot you come across as you go through the game and this will pop during natural gameplay without an issue. If you are having trouble finishing this up, fast travel between two towns, destroying all objects in each on each arrival, as all items respawn every time you get to a loading screen.

Hidden Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/1EC.jpgReborn(B)(H)

You were reborn from the Well of Souls, and have escaped Allestar Tower.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Simply go through the beginning area of the game. Defeat the enemies, talk to the gnomes, it will be fairly straight forward. Once you escape the tower, leaving your resurrector behind, this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/760.jpgNo Destiny, All Determination(B)(H)

You have met High King Titarion, and have been confronted with the true scope of your powers.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Continue to progress through the main storyline. The missions you will have to complete to get this trophy will be:

- Into the Light

- Old Friends, New Foes

- The Hunters Hunted

- The Coming Storm

At the end of The Coming Storm, you will speak to High King Tritarion, who will interpret the Codex. After the cutscene finishes, you will earn a new fate card, and this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/CF8.jpgTurning the Tide(S)(H)

A ruse has baited Octienne into betraying the necromantic nature of his experiments.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Continue to progress through the main storyline. The missions you will have to complete to get this trophy will be:

- An Old Friend

- Enemies in High Palace

After you defeat Templar Octienne, you will receive this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/061.jpgHero of Mel Senshir(G)(H)

You have defeated the great Balor.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Continue to progress through the main storyline. The missions you will have to complete to get this trophy will be:

- The Great General

- Breaking the Siege

Once you have defeated the Balor at the end of Breaking the Siege, you will receive this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/662.jpgDestiny Defiant(S)(H)

You have defeated Tirnoch, and defied destiny.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Continue to progress through the main storyline. The missions you will have to complete to get this trophy will be:

- Silence Falls

- Echoes of the Past

- Pride Before a Fall

- Taking Vengeance

- Reckoning

After you have defeated Tirnoch, you will receive this trophy, and Destiny Dominated if you played on Hard. The second trophy may take a bit to register, but there are no reports of it glitching.

Tips to defeating Tirnoch:
This boss is surprisingly easy. Here are the steps to beating it.

1. Go in the throne room

2. Wait for him to sap your Reckoning power and create an enemy

3. Defeat said enemy. Be careful not to go to close to the edge, as the boss swipes his horns along there. I am not sure if it does a set amount of damage or simply one hit kills you, but it certainly one hit killed me.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you are able to active Reckoning Mode. Do so.

5. You can now damage the boss. He sometimes falls over, but not always. Simply used ranged weapons if he doesn’t fall, you can still damage him.

6. Once you have damaged him enough, you will be transported to a new area.

7. Repeat steps 2 through 6.

8. In the third and final area, repeat steps 2 through 5. You can now kill the boss. Do so by running up to him and using the action prompt (:cross:)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/488.jpgDestiny Dominated(G)(H)

You have won the game on Hard difficulty.

To get this trophy, you will need to start the game on Hard, when prompted, and stay in hard mode for the entire game, if you switch out at any point, you will not achieve this trophy. Hard mode is not difficult at all, so do not be put off by it. Be careful though, if you die several times in the same area, it will ask if you would like to drop down to Normal difficulty; make sure you say no to this, or you will have to reload a previous save or be unable to achieve this trophy. Once you have beaten the game and achieved this trophy, feel free to lower the difficulty to complete the remaining quests.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/669/740.jpgStreaker(B)(H)

You spoke to someone while not wearing clothes.

Simply unequip all armour you are wearing, and then talk to someone. It doesn’t matter if you have weapons equipped. After the conversation is over, this trophy will pop.

Nice work, this will be helpfull in getting the plat.

Just a quick question though about the trophy "Open Sesame".

Are there a infinite number of chests to be dispelled?

I ask because i've been failing alot of them ( not invested any points into that skill) just to get the loot inside, so i was wondering, if there is a finite amount of chests making this potentially ( however unlikely ) missable?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I am on my phone right now, but when I get home I will make adjustments accordingly, sorry for the inaccuracies.

As for the missable question, the ward dispelling is theoretically missable, the lock opening one is unmissable. Wards explode when you fail, so if you explode them ALL, you will be unable to get this trophy. However, when you fail on picking a lock, the lock is still there for later.

That being said, there are several hundred of each type of chest, these trophies are near impossible to classify as missable.

EDIT: Fixed up the small errors

Double-post and bump because I'd like some feedback here.

Would you guys like to see all the sub sections of the different storyline quests?

I.E. Instead of having:

have:

- Out of the Darkness
Find the Way Out

Leave the Well of Souls

Speak to Fomorour Hughes

Escape Allestar Tower

Which method do people prefer?

I dont think theres any need to add the subsections of the storyline quests, but thats just me.

Also about the trophy you get by brewing a fate potion, you dont actualy need a fate potion, it can be any potion that uses an essence of fate, I know this for a fact, I got my trophy from a Master Healling Potion.

What you need to be sure of is that you are creating the potion from the "Create" tab, if you experiment and succed you wont get the trophy because you didnt actualy create a potion, when you successfuly experiment you get a potion for free.

So imo the easiest way to get this trophy is leveling your Alchemy to 7 (not sure if thats the corect number, but up to the point where you can use Essences of Fate) and learning how to make a Master Healling Potion via experimentation combineing 3x Black Cohosh + 2x Embreyes + 1x Blodroot + 1x Essence of Fate. After you learn the recipe go to the "Create" tab and make the potion from there, and the trophy will pop.

Yeah, thats kinda what I thought as well, seemed self explanatory, wasn't sure if anyone wanted it. I did know the part about the Essence potion, I simply haven't changed it yet. However, I was unaware of (or simply didn't phrase it nearly as well):

I dont, but I did notice some spelling mistakes (English not first language + fast typing), so I wouldnt mind if you corect them either...

Done, thanks very much for your contribution :)

I'd move the FAQ to the bottom, after the trophy guide portion itself. That way it won't interrupt the flow of the page and people can get right into the portion they want.

I thought about this, but I ended up deciding that the FAQ would be something to read before playing the game, so I would leave it before the guide itself.

Thank you so much for the banner, it looks amazing :)

Great guide, very helpful, I didn't know what trophies are missable until I read this. I went for Out of Your League straightaway, and found a very easy method on YouTube, perhaps you would like to include it in your guide?
