Before you start your adventure!

When you start a new game, I advise you to start on hard. Don’t worry, the game isn’t really that hard. For a few tips and tricks, see the Destiny Dominated trophy.

If you die a few times in a row, the game will ask you if you want to change the difficulty. Be careful not to change it! Once you've obtained this trophy, it's safe to change difficulty.

You can play through the game however you like, I do advice you to try and obtain the Out of Your League trophy as soon as possible, since this one is easily missable. You can get this trophy up to at least level 31, by going into the 'Primordia' dungeon. (See trophy for location). However, there’s also an auto-save right after the Tutorial dungeon which won’t get overwritten. If you load that up, there’s a very easy way to obtain this trophy. See the related video.

If you find any chests, locked with magic.. These are wards. These need to be dispelled. There's a trophy that requires you to dispel 50 wards. If you fail to dispel a ward, you'll still be able to loot it, but it won't count as a dispel. There are many wards, so you can't really miss this trophy, but if you're going to fail every single one of them, you might have a hard time getting 50 dispels, since chests and wards don't reset. There's however, a really easy trick to obtain many dispels. See the related video.

You might also want to invest in the Persuasion skill a bit, since it can become quite time consuming to persuade 50 times after you’ve finished a large part of the game. (If you don't feel like investing many points in the Persuasion skill, you can save before a dialogue and reload your save whenever you fail the persuasion. However, a few points make a big difference.) If you've done pretty much every quest in the game and haven't gotten the A Wink and a Smile trophy yet, you'll have to start a new game and restart quite a few quests.

Where to start?

I can’t really tell you where to start or which trophy to unlock first. Most will unlock by simply playing the Main quest line and all the factions. So before you go hunt trophies, complete the Faction and Main quest lines first. This will grant you many items and bonuses which will help you out greatly.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for plants which hold reagents. Open (lockpick/dispel) as many chests as possible, find books to read, activate every Lorestone you find for bonuses etc etc.

Enjoy your stay in Amalur!

MISSABLE

This unlocks after completing the 'Enemies in High places' quest but it's possible to skip this entire questline if you're not careful:

JSoup said:
Before this point, the story is split into two: one path following Agarth, the other following a lead by Alyn. If you push the Agarth one to its conclusion and keep doing sidequests, eventually you'll get to a point where the quests will start referring to things you learned in the other quest branch and you'll be locked out but the game really makes it a point of making you want to find Hugues first, pushing you down that questline first.

061.jpg Hero of Mel Senshir (G)(H)

You have defeated the great Balor.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Unlocks after completing the 'Breaking the siege' quest.

662.jpg Destiny Defiant (S)(H)

You have defeated Tirnoch, and defied destiny.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Unlocks after completing the 'Reckoning' quest.

488.jpg Destiny Dominated (G)(H)

You have won the game on Hard difficulty.

If you die a few times in a row, the game will ask you if you want to change the difficulty. Be careful not to change it! Once you've obtained this trophy, it's save to change difficulty.

At the start of the game, you can choose a difficulty. You can also change the difficulty in game. However, this trophy requires you to complete the game on hard. So no switching to a lower difficulty. You only have to do the Main Story Quest line on hard, which consists of 14 quests.

Hard difficulty isn’t really that difficult. Here are some tips:

  • Buy, find or create health potions. They are easy to find, to make and very cheap to buy. There’s no cool down, so you can spam these by pressing :left: as much as you want.
  • If you have an ally with you, let him/her advance first. Make the enemies target them.
  • Save often. Once you die, you’ll have to load your latest save.
  • Use reckoning mode (hold :l1: + :r1:). If you’re having a hard time with a group of enemies, or a boss, you can easily win by using reckoning mode. If you don’t have enough fate, leave and kill a few enemies elsewhere. (Or use a Fate potion.)
  • Learn your opponents attacks. Dodge and Parry whenever possible.
  • Know your moves/combos.
  • Use your surroundings. Enemy attacks can't go through solid objects.

  • The Road Patrol
  • The Heart of Sibun

34A.jpg Reckoning Rampage (B)

Killed 5 enemies with a single Fateshift.

You can perform a fateshift kill in the so called ‘Reckoning mode’. To activate Reckoning mode, hold down :l1: and :r1:. Before you can do so however, you need enough Fate. You gain fate by simply defeating enemies, or by drinking a Fate potion. The bar between your health and mana is your Fate bar. Once completely filled, you can activate Reckoning mode.

In Reckoning mode, your weapon will become ‘Fate touched’. Basically making it stronger. Look for a group of 5 enemies, or more. Activate Reckoning mode and start attacking your foes. Don’t worry, you can’t actually kill them with attacks in Reckoning mode, so just keep attacking. Once 5 or more enemies are downed (when they’re downed, a :cross: will appear above their heads when standing close), walk up to one of the enemies and press :cross: to activate the Fateshift kill. This will instantly kill all the downed enemies.

You don’t have to follow the QTE (Quick Time Event), since this will only increase the amount of EXP you’ll earn.

F43.jpg Niskaru Slayer (B)

Killed 25 Niskaru.

This will come through normal play. They’re named Niskaru, so once you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all. Niskaru’s aren’t that difficult, but they deal a great amount of damage. A single Niskaru shouldn’t be a big problem, but if there are multiple, be careful and try to pack them together for AoE (Area of Effect) attacks. You'll come across most Niskaru's via the Warsworn Faction quest line and the last few Main Quests.

634.jpg Out of Your League (B)

Killed an enemy 4 levels higher than you.

***MISSABLE***

Enemy names are color coded. To kill a enemy 4 levels higher, you’ll need to find yourself a red named enemy. You can do this by traveling to the far east when you’ve just started the game.

You can get this trophy up to at least level 31. Here's a dungeon you can access that has Level 35+ enemies. (This dungeon doesn't unlock until you've completed the Main story quest line.):

6912167823_ac141ba83b_z.jpg

You can also use the following trick:

(Picklock the Prison door in Gothart. Once inside, walk all the way to the back of the prison and use the lever. This will open the jail gate of a prisoner. Run up to him and press  to activate aggressive mode. Quickly enter Reckoning mode and kill him. If you don't have any Fate left, go outside the village first and kill a few enemies.)

CA8.jpg Cleaning Up the Streets (B)

Killed 50 bandits.

Bandits can be found all over Amalur. They’re your standard humans living in camps, so there’s always more than 1 to find. They’re not that difficult to kill, but you may want to kill the archers first. Just kill any bandit you see and you’ll unlock this in no time.

C08.jpg To the Victor Go the Spoils (B)

Found 10 unique items dropped by enemies.

Unique weapons are purple color coded. You can find them pretty much all over the place. Loot is random, so all you can do is loot, loot and loot. They’re not hard to find, you just got to be lucky.

(Special Delivery weapons don't count. These are weapons you’ve unlocked via (pre-order) DLC, or the demo and can be found in the Special Delivery chest at the Inn in the first village (Gothart) you visit in Amalur.)

065.jpg Foiled Again! (B)

Parried 100 times.

You’ll need a shield (might), talisman (sorcery) or buckler (finesse) for this. If an enemy attacks you, if you block by holding or pressing :l1: right when they’re about to hit you, you’ll perform a parry. When this happens, the game will go into a slow-motion for a brief moment and deal more damage than normal. If you’re having a hard time with this. One of the easier enemies would be a pack of wolves. When they howl and start to rush you, you know they’re about to attack. When they’re close, press or hold :l1:.

A99.jpg Trapper (B)

Killed 25 enemies with traps.

This requires the Frost Trap ability from the Finesse tree, which requires at least 5 ability points in the Finesse tree before it unlocks. You need to be at least level 2.

Map the ability to your UI, by pressing :cross: and map it to one of the four face buttons (:square:, :cross:, :circle: or :triangle). Find yourself an enemy and start laying down traps, by holding :r1: and press the corresponding face button. Either search for weak enemies (grey names) which you can instantly kill with the traps, or deal some damage first, run away and lay down a trap to finish them off.

To deal extra damage, you can also unlock the Icy Explosion ability, which requires a total of 20 ability points in the Finesse tree before it unlocks. You need to be at least level 7.

(If you’re playing as a different destiny, make a new save file of your current character. Go see a Fate Weaver and reset your destiny. Once you’ve obtained the trophy, reload your save.)

FF8.jpg Riposte! (B)

Landed 25 special attacks out of Parry.

The only weapons with which you can perform a special attack out of a parry are the Longswords, Greatswords, Hammers, Daggers and Faeblades. In order to unlock these moves, you’ll have to either unlock Brutal Weaponry IV or Precise Weaponry IV.

Longswords, Greatswords and Hammers require a total of 50 points in the Might tree and at least 1 point in the previous levels of Brutal Weaponry. You need to be at least level 17.

Daggers and Faeblades require a total of 50 points in the Finesse tree and at least 1 point in the previous levels of Precise Weaponry. You need to be at least level 17.

Once you’ve unlocked Precise or Brutal Weaponry IV, go find yourself some enemies. Wait for them to attack and press :l1: to block. If you time it right, you’ll parry them. Quickly attack afterwards for a Special attack. You can check the Moves list in the menu to check which attacks you’ve unlocked and how to perform them.

Fist icon: Attack by pressing :square: or :triangle: once.

Pause (||) icon: Brief pause.

Shield icon: Parry by holding or pressing :l1:.

If you’re playing as a different destiny, make a new save file of your current character. Go see a Fate Weaver and reset your destiny. Once you’ve obtained the trophy, reload your save.

DAA.jpg Would You Like Fries with that? (B)

Landed 100 complete attack chains.

This should unlock by normal play. Most attack chains can be completed by simple spamming the attack button. Use either :square: for your primary weapon, or :triangle: for your secondary weapon. You can also check the Moves list in the menu to check which attacks you’ve unlocked and how to perform them.

Fist icon: Attack by pressing :square: or :triangle: once.

Pause (||) icon: Brief pause.

Shield icon: Block or Parry by holding or pressing :l1:.

B6D.jpg Shock and Awe (B)

Killed 100 enemies with abilities.

See the And Then There Were None trophy.

698.jpg And Then There Were None (B)

Killed 500 enemies with abilities.

Abilities are circle shaped in the ability tree. These use mana when used and can be mapped to your UI. Pick 4 abilities to your liking and press :cross: to map them to one of the 4 face buttons (:cross:, :square:, :circle: or :triangle:). Simply keep using abilities to kill enemies, by holding :r1: and pressing the corresponding face button. One of the easier and faster way to gain this trophy is by playing a Sorcery (based) Destiny (much mana and fast mana regen and heavy damage abilities).

197.jpg  Juggler (S)

Landed 5 consecutive hits on a launched enemy.

Each of the 3 trees has it ways to launch an enemy. Check the Moves list via the menu, for moves you can perform that launch enemies.

Afterwards, all you have to do is juggle them, which can be done in many different ways. Abilities or standard attacks will work, while ranged weapons will make it even easier.

You can easily do this in the very beginning, in the tutorial dungeon. Once you’ve obtained the sword and bow, use your sword to do an Upheavel (attack, pause for a moment and attack again). This will lift your enemy up in the air. Now quickly switch to your bow and shoot all your arrows at him. (Set the difficulty to hard so they have more health.) You can of course, choose to do this the exact same way after the tutorial dungeon with any sword/bow, since this is one of the easier ways to obtain this trophy.

046.jpg  Elixir of Fate (B)

Made a potion with the Essence of Fate.

Making a potion with the Essence of Fate requires an Alchemy skill level of 7. Which also requires your character level to be at least level 8. The Essence of Fate is a rare item that can only be obtained as either rare drops in Reckoning mode or harvested from the relevant plant which only respawns every 4 in-game days.

When you've acquired at least 4 Essence of Fate and have the required Alchemy level, go to a Alchemy bench and select Create. From there you can create a Fate potion with 4 Essences of Fate or you can go to the Experiment tab and make a potion with the Essence of Fate and 3 other reagents. If you succeed, you'll first need to go back to the Create tab and search for the potion that you've just made. A level 10 Alchemy skill will also directly unlock all the recipes, which means you can skip the Experiment tab and go straight to the Create tab.

EEC.jpg It Didn't Explode! (B)

Made a stable potion by experimenting.

Go to an Alchemy bench and select Experiment. From there you can choose any reagent you have and combine it with a second reagent or up to 4 reagents, depending on your Alchemy skill. Select whatever reagents you want and press :square: to start the experiment. It will either result in a failed experiment or a potion. (If your Alchemy skill is level 1 or higher, failed experiments will result in an Unstable potion).

68D.jpg Green Thumb (B)

Harvested 10 of each type of reagent.

There are a total of 20 different reagents, but 19 count for the trophy (essence of Fate isn't required). To harvest reagents, you’ll have to walk up to different plants scattered throughout Amalur and harvest them by pressing :cross:.

You will either get a reagent, or find no reagent at all. The higher your Alchemy skill, the higher the chance you’ll harvest a reagent. With a level 10 Alchemy skill, you pretty much harvest a reagent all the time.

You can check all your reagents by going to your Inventory menu > Items > Crafting > Reagent Bag. The list keeps track of all your found and looted reagents, not just the one's you've harvested, so it isn't very accurate.

Reagents:

  • Bloodroot
  • Seaflex
  • Scarlet Flowstone
  • Scarwood Bark
  • Sky Blossom
  • Tindertwig
  • Black Cohosh
  • White Flake
  • Eel Petal
  • Scarab Salts
  • Star Thistle
  • Softscrabble Powder
  • Sativa Fibers
  • Cripplespore Caps
  • Edelweiss
  • Ysa's Breath
  • Embereyes
  • Leechwood Bark
  • Prismere Dust

If you're not sure how many of each you've harvested, sell all your reagents and start to harvest (and don't pick up any as loot) 10 of each reagent. Start with the one's which you had the least of. (Such as Prismere Dust for example.) However, only do this if you haven't obtained this trophy when you've pretty much obtained all the other trophies.

An other great place to harvest most of the reagents is Castle Seawatch. You'll need to upgrade it first via a quest though.

82C.jpg Good as New (B)

Repaired a piece of equipment.

Weapon and armor slowly lose durability when in use. You can see the durability at the top left corner of a weapon or armor, indicated as 50/50 for example. You can repair your weapon either at a blacksmith, or you can use a repair tool which can be found all over the place, or can be bought at a store. You can find the repair tool in your Inventory > Items > Items. Use it and select whatever item you want to repair.

FAD.jpg Shop Class (B)

Crafted a piece of equipment with Blacksmithing.

Find a Blacksmithing forge and choose Craft. Find yourself an item which has both the Required materials highlighted. Select it and choose whatever materials you have. If you don’t have any required materials, you either need to find them yourself in chests, dropped loot or buy them at a store.

652.jpg Master of the Forge (B)

Crafted an item that uses all 5 forge component slots.

Crafting an item with all 5 forge components requires a Smithing skill level of 7. Which also requires your character level to be at least Level 8.

Go to a Blacksmithing forge and choose Craft. Find yourself an item which has all the Required and Bonus materials highlighted. Select it and select whatever 5 components you want to use. Select to craft it and rename it if you want.

If you don’t have enough materials, either buy them at a merchant, or find them through looting chests/enemies etc. The very last bonus material needs to be a gem. If you don’t have a gem, you can either find them, buy them, or make them yourself (see the Romancing the Gem trophy).

2F0.jpg Romancing the Gem (B)

Crafted an Epic Gem.

Crafting an Epic Gem requires a Sagecraft skill level of 8. Which also requires your character level to be at least Level 16.

In order to craft an Epic gem, you’ll first need 2 Pristine shards. You can either find them, buy them, or craft them (see the Diamond in the Rough trophy).

Find a Sagecraft Altar, choose to Craft Gems > Epic Gems. Select 2 Pristine shards to your liking and craft an Epic Gem.

4BE.jpg Diamond in the Rough (B)

Crafted a Pristine Shard.

Crafting a Pristine Shard requires a Sagecraft skill level of 3.

In order to craft an Pristine Shard, you’ll first need 2 Lambent Shards. You can either find them, buy them, or craft them like you’re going to do with a Pristine shard, by combining 2 Cloudy Shards.

Find a Sagecraft Altar, choose to Craft Gems > Strengthen Shards. Select a Lambent shard to your liking, you’ll need at least 2 of them, and craft a Pristine Shard.

EE7.jpg They Never Saw it Coming (B)

Backstabbed 20 enemies.

You can backstab enemies by using daggers. Press :r2: to go into stealth mode. Walk up behind an enemy and when close, press attack (:square: or :triangle:, depending on whether you use them as primary or secondary weapon) and it can instantly kill your enemy. You’ll need the Assassin’s Art skill in the Finesse tree before you can do so however. The higher the ability, the longer it will take for enemies to detect you.

(If you’re playing as a different destiny, make a new save file of your current character. Go see a Fate Weaver, reset your destiny and reassign your ability points. Once you’ve obtained the trophy, reload your save.)

815.jpg Cartographer (B)

Discovered 100 locations.

Should unlock over time. You’ll get notified as soon as you find a new location. You can check how many locations you've discovered by going to the Status menu > Stats.

D66.jpg The Great Detective (B)

Detected 25 hidden things.

Hidden things refer to either hidden 'containers' (Hollow Logs and Piles of Rocks) or hidden doors. To be able to detect and loot hidden chests, you’ll need a Detect hidden skill level of 2 for chests, or level 6 to see hidden doors. This will show hidden chests and/or doors on the mini map. If you discover something hidden, the game will notify you if you do so. You don’t have to actually loot the chests. But why wouldn’t you?

FB1.jpg Loremaster (B)

Found all Lorestones.

There are 170 Lorestones in total, spread out all over Amalur. First and foremost, you need a Detect hidden skill level of 5. Which also requires your character to be at least level 8. The reason is that there are Lorestones in secret areas. These areas can only be found and accessed by opening secret doors. To make it easier on yourself, get the level 10 Detect Hidden skill. This will show the Lorestones on your mini map and local world map. (If you've explored enough, you can pretty much find every Lorestone without a guide with a level 10 Detect Hidden skill.) You can check how many Lorestones from each set you’ve found via the Status menu > Lorestones.

Text Walkthrough: Lorestone Walkthrough by IGN

The Legend of Dead Kel & Teeth of Naros - Extra Lorestones.

Both DLC's have new Lorestones that can be found. Instead of finding all 170 Lorestones in the game itself, you can also find some in either, or both DLC's and the remaining ones in the game itself.

A57.jpg Bookworm (B)

Read 50 books.

Pick up any book you can. There are many books scattered all over the map. You’ll also obtain quite a few books via quests. You can find your books in your Inventory > Items > Books & Scrolls.

You can also enter many houses and buildings and steal books from the book shelves. Instead of stealing, you can also press :square: to inspect them. Press :square: once more to read them. There are also a few merchants that sell many books. You can reload your safe file afterwards if you don’t want to lose any money.

Book merchant locations:

  • Adessa - Arcadium, Arthesa Lille. (16 books.)
  • Rathir - Merchant Circle, Orwae Nes. (17 books.)

2D3.jpg Big Spender (B)

Spent 200,000 gold.

You don’t need to have 200k gold at once. All you need to do is spent a total of 200k gold. I’m pretty sure you can find useful stuff in shops. Also, resetting your destiny, paying fines etc. also count.

44E.jpg Five Finger Discount (B)

Stole and fenced an item.

To steal an item, you either need to pickpocket someone, or steal something from a chest which you can find in pretty much every house. A stolen item will have a red hand icon next to it in your inventory. Once you’ve stolen an item, you can sell it by 2 possible ways.

You can choose to invest 10 skill points in the Mercantile skill. Level 10 will grant you the ability to sell stolen items at any merchant.

If you don’t have or want a level 10 Mercantile skill, you can sell stolen items at the merchant in Star Camp, Moon Camp or Sun Camp.

Here’s an easy trick on how to easily steal an item from the Star Camp merchant and sell it back to him:

(Go to Star Camp and find the merchant. Behind him is a chest. Go into stealth mode and loot it. Now go back to the merchant and sell your stolen goods to him.)

310.jpg Where's My Wallet? (B)

Pickpocketed 20 times.

Go to a town or village or any place with NPC’s. Press :r2: to go into stealth mode. Walk up behind someone and press :cross: to pickpocket him/her. Be careful though, if you’re caught, you do get to keep the items you stole, but it won’t count as a pickpocket. Make sure that all of the eyes that appear above NPC’s are completely grey or a bit orange. The percentage you’ll see next to the items you’re about to steal should be as low as possible. The percentage actually means the chance of you getting caught, not the chance of you actually stealing the item. You can invest points in the Stealth skill, which will increase the duration of time you can remain hidden.

You can check how many times you’ve successfully pickpocketed by going to the Status menu > Stats.

2 easy tricks on how to easily pick pocket 20 items:

F27.jpg Jailbreak (B)

You broke out of jail.

Go to any town or village with guards. Preferably the very first town, Gorhart. You can commit any crime you like, however, it's easier if you pickpocket someone. Press :r2: to go into stealth mode. Walk up behind someone and pickpocket them. Make sure people notice you. Wait for a guard to arrive and talk to you. Choose to Go to jail. Once thrown in jail, save the game because you only get 1 try. Walk up to the gate in front of you and lock pick it. It’s an easy lock but you’ve only got 1 lock pick. You don’t actually have to escape prison, you only have to lock pick the door. If you fail, reload the save and try again.

Got caught committing a crime 25 times.

Go to a town or village with guards. Go in stealth mode and start to pickpocket people. Make sure people notice you. Pickpocket only 1 item at a time, so you can repeat this with the same person several times. Wait for the guard to show up and talk to you. From there choose to pay a fine. This way, you’ll be able to continue to pickpocket people. Repeat 25 times. (Paying a fine will not only let you quickly go back to stealing, it will also count towards the Crime Doesn't Pay trophy.)

A different tactic by F8L Fool:

Remove your weapon and walk up to a guard. Turn on aggression then punch them. Immediately pay the assault fine and then punch them again. Repeat the process.

D41.jpg Crime Doesn't Pay (B)

Spent over 10,000 gold in crime bribes.

Go to a town or village with guards. Go into stealth mode and press  to activate aggressive mode. Kill 1 or 2 NPC’s and wait for the guards to arrive (some will attack you, but there are always a few guards that want to talk to you. If you kill a guard however, it might take a while before they want to talk to you instead of trying to kill you.) Choose to pay your fine. The fine is about 8k per murder.

Instead of murdering people, you can choose to obtain this trophy while going for the A Life of Crime trophy.

0E3.jpg Breaking and Entering (B)

Picked 50 locks.

Throughout the world you will come across chests which are locked. Each chest has a difficulty, from very easy to very hard.

In order to open a locked chest, you’ll need lock picks. These can either be found or bought in shops. When you’ve found a locked chest, you can try to open it with the lock pick. Don’t worry though, even the very hard locked chests are pretty easy. Use the :rs: to move the lock pick and use the :ls: stick to move the slider at the top. You need to slide it all the way to the right without breaking it. If it begins to shake, you now it’s about to break.

There are 2 other ways to lock pick a chest. Either with Prismere lock picks, or by Auto-Attempt. With a Prismere lock pick, you can instantly open a locked chest, by pressing :square:. These lock picks are hard to obtain though. If you press :triangle: however, you can Auto-Attempt a chest. There’s a certain success rate however. If you fail, you’ll lose your lock pick.

If you want, you can upgrade your Lockpicking skill to make it very, very easy. Not only will Lockpicking itself become easy, but an Auto-Attempt will always open a chest.

You can check how many chests you’ve lockpicked by going to the Status menu > Stats.

01A.jpg Open Sesame (B)

Dispelled 50 wards.

***MISSABLE***

If you fail to dispel a ward, you'll still be able to loot it, but it won't count as a dispel. There are many wards, so you can't really miss this trophy, but if you're going to fail every single one of them, you might have a hard time getting 50 dispels, since chests and wards don't reset. (There's however, a really easy trick to obtain many dispels. See the related video.)

Instead of normal locked chests, you can also find wards. These are chests locked with a certain magic. These wards need to be dispelled. Each ward has a difficulty, ranging from very easy to very hard. However, compared to lockpicking, this can actually be hard.

When you’re about to dispel a ward, circles (wards) will appear and a timer. Before the green timer runs out, you’ll have to activate every ward. However, each individual ward also has a timer. Before one runs out, you’ll have to activate all the other wards. If you fail to do so in time, you’ll have to dispel that ward again. If you miss click, you’ll have to activate all the wards again. If you fail to do so before the green timer runs out, the ward will blow up, damaging and cursing you. It will also blow up if you dispel a red ward. You’ll still be able to loot the ward afterwards though. If you want to get rid of the curse, you’ll have to see a healer or use a potion.

You can also Auto-Attempt it, if you fail, it will blow up. If you want, you can upgrade the Dispelling skill, which makes it very easy.

You can check how many you’ve unlocked by going to the Status menu > Stats. All 50 dispels have to be done on one save file (character).

There’s also a very easy trick to obtain many dispels with wards which won’t blow up or curse you. And it will even grant you some money:

(Find Daedinnear in the Laboratories, Adessa. He will give you a quest to dispel 3 wards. Once you're done, complete the quest. You'll be able to repeat this quest multiple times (it's not infinite though). The wards do become harder to dispel though. It's advised to save before dispelling, so you can benefit fully from this. Also, you might want to see a Fate Weaver and reset you skills. Put 10 points in the Dispelling skill, so that you can auto-attempt each ward 3 times with a 50% success rate each try.)

293.jpg A Wink and a Smile (B)

You have succeeded at 50 Persuasion attempts.

***MISSABLE***

When talking to a NPC, sometimes you’ll have the option to persuade someone. These are highlighted in green text, with a percentage of success next to it. You’ll have to succeed in 50 attempts. To make it easier, you can invest in the Persuasion skill to increase your chances. All 50 persuasions have to be done on one save file (character).

If you don't feel like investing many points in the Persuasion skill, you can save before a dialogue and reload your save whenever you fail the persuasion. However, a few points make a big difference. If you've done pretty much every quest in the game and haven't gotten the trophy yet, you'll have to start a new game and find any quest that gives you the option to persuade.

Here's a good list by Vindicator51 over at X360A with quests that contain persuasion options: Persuasion Quests (May contain spoilers).

0C9.jpg Bull in a China Shop (B)

Smashed 1,000 objects.

There are boxes and vases to be found all over Amalur. Smashing a 1000 seems like a lot, but this shouldn’t take too long. Most of them also give money or reveal chests.

740.jpg Streaker (B)(H)

You spoke to someone while not wearing clothes.

Make sure you’ve unequipped everything. Don’t forget your shield like many do!

And the winner is...k1ll1ng5pr33.

2nd place likely to DKsDragon

and bringing up the rear if he get's off his ass and finishes will be GodkingLeonidas

Seriously though, well done and I hope your expertise doesn't scare me off from finishing and posting my own first attempt at a guide.

You should post your own!

Surely A Wink and a Smile is missable? Unless there's an infinitely-repeatable persuasion check in the game that I'm not aware of?

I think it is.. If you've completed every side quest already. I'll note it down as missable.

For the fate potion trophy, you don't need 4 Essence of Fates---you can get the trophy for any potion you make that includes at least one Essence of Fate (eg, the Master Experience Boost)

Hmm.. I tried creating different potions, but it didn't work out. Guess I didn't use the correct reagents. Just check the wiki and they've listed many potions that include 1 Essence of Fate. I'll update the guide.

Problem is I can't get a damned Essence of Fate!

look on your map where is says Acatha. directly to the left, just above Skycrown, flush against the mountain pictured on the map is an area that has one underneath a small waterfall. not really a waterfall, but i don't know what else to call it.

Hmm.. I've gotten quite a few by just playing the game. Never bought any. You can also get them by simply using Reckoning mode.

Also, I just found out you can actually eat your reagents and get short bonuses, lol.

I haven't left the first region yet but I have used Reckoning mode at least 15x during my 20hrs with no luck. I'll just have to keep plugging away I guess.

Aah ok. You'll find EoF, don't worry ;)

Anyway, I'm won't be able to update my guide until tomorrow. Have to work tomorrow. (It's 11PM right now.)

If you have any questions or remarks about the guide, please do leave a reply ;)

Just an info about the trophy " a wink and a smile", Im doing pretty much every quest on the game, just now finishing the Planices of Erathil, I made sure to never miss 1 persuasion test, I got my trophy about 2 or 3 quests ago, so if youre beeing diligent and doing quests left and right while never missing any persuasion test you could expect to get this trophy sometime near the conclusion of all the quests on the Planices of Erathil.

A good spot to get lots of persuasions if you are going for the fast plat and not doing everything would be Rathir and Ysa, quests on Rathir allow you to make over 10 persuasion tests, Ysa also have plenty of oportunities to persuade ppl.

O btw I went to the Planices right after the first zone, Im pretty sure thats the way "its supposed to be" and that the Planices are the lower lv region (altought its pretty possible to go to Deytre first, its just not optmal because of the faction quest chains).

Hope this helps.

Ps: Killingspree to clarify the doubts about the trophy that you have to make a potion with an essence of fate, it can be any potion that uses 1 Essence as a reagent, but you ahve to actualy make the potion, meaning after you experiment you have to go to your "craft potion menu" choose the recipe you just discovered and craft the potion, when you experiment you dont actualy make the potion, you get 1 for free :). I got my trophy this way making a Master Healling Potion, if oyu guys need further proof go ahead and try it yourselves but IM 100% positive on this one.

I found one in Ettinmire in the first region. I can't remember exactly where it was but I was swimming through the water collecting treasure. It was down around the Fae in the far south. It was in a little alcove hidden away.

I was going to post a guide of my own for this, but two internships, 18 units, and a part time job has pretty much decimated my free time. So instead I'll just clear up inaccuracies in this guide, seeing how it's the first one released.

I'll also add a few suggestions that you can make use of, or someone else that is going to post a guide can. Either one works.

But regardless, good luck with the sticky.

A Wink and a Smile: You left out one extremely vital piece of information. There is more than one method of persuading a NPC in this game. There are many instances where having enough skill points in any given skill will prompt you to persuade someone. I have done two Detect Hidden persuasions, a Blacksmith persuasion, an Alchemy persuasion, and a Stealth persuasion. Not only that, but when they appear it is without a chance to fail. They too count towards the total and are a great incentive to find all the skill books and do training every chance you get as early on as possible.

Minimum level requirements for skill trophies:: For some very strange reason you have the wrong skill and/or level values for all of these trophies. The correct ones are:

Elixir of Fate - 5 Alchemy skill, level 8. Allows you to craft with four reagents.

Master of the Forge - 7 Blacksmith skill, level 8. Allows you to use 5 components. The fifth of which is the gems.

Romancing the Gem: 8 Sagecraft skill, level 16. Allows you to craft an epic gem.

Bookworm: I purchased 10+ books at three different locations. Sadly I can't remember the name of two of them, but Adessa is the main one.

In Adessa, go to the first store called "Arcadium" and save after you open the door. After saving, walk straight ahead to Arthesa Lille, talk to her, then open her shop. She sells sixteen books that will set you back roughly 9,000 depending on your mercantile skill. You can read them all and see if the trophy. If it pops just load your save and enjoy the trophy. If it doesn't you can either continue on if you have the expendable cash, or restart and return later to repeat the process.

While you're still in Adessa go check out the various buildings. The Domicus will net you 3 or 4 books, Sandstone Villa has a few, and the Bursar has 4 as well.

In total Adessa has roughly 30 books to be had. Take advantage of it.

I'll try to re-discover the other two merchants.

Destiny Dominated: This trophy definitely can't be constituted as missable. A missable trophy is something that can be missed outright during the course of your gameplay, that can't be backtracked to after you have passed that point in the game. No one ever classifies difficulty trophies as missable. Ever.

Niskaru Slayer: While it does come naturally you can still make some suggestions for how to obtain this, especially at an early point in the game. For example: Complete the entire Warsworn quest chain and this will unlock half way through your final quest. The quest chain is obtainable very early on in the game and offers lucrative rewards for completion—in addition to a trophy.

And Then There Were None: Just to clarify this a bit more you need to have the killing blow be the ability, not just use it on them a significant amount. The key is to use any ability on them that will finish them off after they are very low. This is an especially good method for people with very low mana regen but want to continuously work on this trophy throughout the game.

A Life of Crime + Crime Doesn't Pay: A substantially faster way to do these trophies—in tandem no less—is to remove your weapon and walk up to a guard. Turn on aggression then punch them. Immediately pay the assault fine and then punch them again. Repeat the process until both trophies pop within a matter of seconds. I performed this in Adessa while doing the following trophy

Where's My Wallet? Go to Adessa during the day and the streets will be flooded with NPC's. If you are already maxed out on what your stealth can be at your particular level, just proceed to pick pocketing people over and over again until it pops. If it isn't maxed then head over to the fateweaver (Simon Crowe, bottom right path of the map) and save your game before unbinding your destiny. Then max out your stealth and get to pick pocketing.

While you're there you can pick up the 16 books from the Arcadium, do the crime trophies, and even purchase 200k worth of goods at the weapon to force the Big Spender trophy to pop.

Blades of Glory: I don't know where you heard that unique quest items don't count. I got my trophy off of the second to last Warsworn quest reward.
