i just boosted for 12 hours straight and did not get kicked or banned once.
i did it with just 2 people and we focused on ribbons the whole time so we didn't score at an alarming rate, but we still managed to get in the top 1%.
I also didn't lock the room but instead made my own clan specifically for boosting and made it so only other clan members can join, and named my room clan members only.

My guess is he was referring to the above post about the 12 hour boost, although I could be wrong..

So are Mods still going nuts despite the fact that KZ3 is out? As well, does making it clan match really lower the risk by much? Or did VanDeam just get lucky?

I reallllly wanna finish this game. Beat the game on Elite, got in the top 1% but still have some medals left to go...Its rather silly, seeing as how some such as the Ass. Defense specialist are complete luck..8+ people in a match, 1/8 chance your the target, and then you have to stay alive (assuming your allies aren't complete retards or the other team isn't at least decent), thats a little over the top for me.

Also, I have been booted for boosting once, but not banned, this was nearly a year ago..should I be careful or has my time pasted?

I guess I will answer my own question..

Me and a friend boosted today for about 4-5 hours straight. We made sure that we made a clan, made the match a clan match..named it something like "clan practice" allowed spectators and didn't screw with the basic settings to much. Only interesting thing we did was reset our server and take about 10 minute breaks once every 1-2 hours.

As well, the boosting was almost completely for me, so i was racking up huge scores with 20-30+ kills and winning every game and getting 7-8 ribbons at a time. Despite all of this we went for hours without any MOD troubles. We were playing from 4-10 CST, so near peak times.

I wouldn't say the mods calmed down, although this is a complete change from the first time in which I was booted 3 matches in.

End of the story, be smart about it, and take small breaks, quitting out and recreating the game.

Is the ban of the PSN Account temporary or permanent?

From what I've heard the penalty ranges...First time I got caught I just got booted from the server for a few minutes, no punishment.

The ban depends on how many times you've been caught, the time inbetween getting caught, and whoever the moderator is.

Minor punishments (first time offenders and such) your punishment will range from just closing the server, a few day ban from KZ2, or a 2-3 day PSN suspension. If you proceed too try again shortly after this happens, your more likely to get a major punishment. This will be a permanent account ban from KZ2, or a longer PSN suspension. Its unlikely they will perma ban your PSN account just for boosting and you can probably fight the ban if it happens.

What server are you doing it on? A friend and me boosted on EU server and we didn't get any interruptions for 5 hours straight. Try eu servers, and also advice from a good friend(Thanks terminator, your fucking ace man) that you shouldn't disable anything, no passwords, spectators enabled and then be less conspicuous about the game title.

I boosted a couple of medals "with myself" on my way to the platinum trophy using a rental copy, namely headshots and melee.

A couple of days later, a really funny thing happened. I was using my alternate account, which had almost the same username as my primary one. Now, of course, the one getting the kills and medals was my primary account. Two days into the boosting session, my secondary account was banned for cheating, while my primary account suffered no infraction at all. It was pretty funny as how asinine the moderators could be. He might as well have tempa-banned my primary account as well.

And, on top of that, my secondary account was able to play games and join sessions without any hitch. The only thing that happened was me getting a message. It was like a moderator on a website saying he is locking a thread but then forgetting to actually lock it.

I have to say, the people getting uptight about this need to calm down. If a developer is concerned with boosters messing with the online community in any way they're allowed to crack down on it. I'm 100% positive that this is all mentioned in their terms of use somewhere, it always is and as long as you're using their product you're bound by those terms. If you don't like it, don't buy the game or its sequels.

Don't get me wrong, I think boosting is harmless and the fact that people are getting hit with account suspensions is a bit silly, but like another poster said earlier, it's hard to sympathize with players who know the risks, do it anyway, and then complain when they get caught. The kid ranting about human rights violations is a serious case of first world problems.
