Road Map

Introduction: Welcome to Jurassic: The Hunted. In this game, you will play as Craig Dylan, a soldier who has found himself in a strange land inhabited with vicious dinosaurs. But who cares about the story. This game is one of those odd guilty pleasures in which the developers concocted a half-baked story in order to let you pump lead into our reptilian ancestors. This game is ideal for trophy enthusiasts, as it is fun, short and easy to platinum. So, without further delay, here is the road map.

Step 1: Finish the game on normal (default) difficulty. Nothing really tough here. The game is very easy. You will want to work towards or get the various kill trophies. These are listed under the “Kill Trophies” section (obviously). Also, you should knock out the four secret trophies. They all have you die in a "special" way.

Step 2: Finish the game on hard difficulty. This will net you the “Hard as Nails” trophy. See the specific guide for that trophy for more details.

Step 3: Mop-up via level select. Ideally, you should only have one trophy left and that is the “Nuck Chorris Rex” trophy which requires you to beat the game without any deaths. See the specific guide for that trophy for more details. In the (unlikely) event that you still have other trophies, you can mop them up via level select.

Kill Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/02.jpg Welcome to the Jungle (B)

Kill 50 Deinonychus

See the “Raptor Extinction” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/03.jpg Raptor Extinction (S)

Kill 100 Deinonychus

These are the red and green raptors and they are littered throughout the game, as they are the primary enemy. As long as you kill every dinosaur you come across, you will unlock this trophy in your first play-through.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/04.jpg Woah (B)

Kill 1 dinosaur during an Adrenaline Burst

See the “Adrenaline Junkie” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/06.jpg Adrenaline Junkie (S)

Kill 25 dinosaurs during Adrenaline Bursts

You activate adrenalin burst by pressing and holding :l1: (default). While in adrenaline burst, time slows down and the dinosaurs’ vital organs show up allowing for easier kills. This trophy should come naturally by just playing. You can check the progress of this particular stat in the stats page which is accessed via the pause menu.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/05.jpg Not so Fast (S)

Kill 3 Raptors during a single Adrenaline Burst

See the “Pack Hunting” trophy for a good strategy for getting this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/19.jpg Pack Hunting (B)

Kill 3 Raptors with one grenade

In Level 3 - Sinking Feeling, you will be able to use grenades for the first time and will be required to blow up a wall with them. Just after you pick up some grenades, a group of three raptors will start walking towards you (unless you’ve alerted them, at which point they will be mobbing you and you should restart from the last checkpoint). Wait until they are fairly close and clustered (but still not alerted) and throw a grenade at the center raptor. With a small amount of luck, all three will die. As an added bonus, if you initiate your adrenaline burst before the grenade detonates and the three raptors die while you’re in the adrenaline burst, you will also get the “Not So Fast” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/20.jpg Who Needs a Bug Zapper? (B)

Kill 50 Pterosaurs in Rise Above

In Level 7 - Rise Above, there will be a great number of Pterosaurs flying around. Before you start traversing the tree bridge, be sure to kill all of the available pterosaurs. Once you’ve done that, start walking the tree bridge slowly making sure to kill any pterosaurs you encounter. Some may be flying while others will be perched on the trees. If you did not unlock the trophy by the end of the tree bridge, restart the level and try again.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/21.jpg Death from Below (B)

Kill 1 Pterosaur with a grenade

While walking the tree bridge in Level 7 - Rise Above, many pterosaurs will swoop down to attack you. Use these opportunities to try to unlock this trophy. The trophy will unlock even if you die with the exploded pterosaur.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/22.jpg Blast in the Past (B)

Kill 20 Dinosaurs with grenades

This will almost definitely come naturally. Of course a great place to farm this trophy is during any of the fortification sequences, since you replenish your ammo indefinitely during those sequences.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/23.jpg Plumber Stomachache (B)

Destroy 50 exploding mushrooms

These are not the yellowish typical looking mushrooms. You will start seeing exploding mushrooms around the last third of the game or so. They are mostly contained in the volcano and caves. There are plenty in plain sight. Just shoot every one you see and this trophy should unlock in Level 13 - The Final Piece, maybe earlier.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/24.jpg 1-Up (B)

Kill 1 enemy using an exploding mushroom

The first time you encounter scorpions, they will be next to some exploding mushrooms. When one is right next to a mushroom, shoot the mushroom. This should kill the scorpion and unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/26.jpg Crispy Critters (B)

Kill 5 Scorpions with the RPG

At the very end of Level 10: Special Delivery, you will encounter some stampeding dinosaurs. Once they’ve passed, follow the path they took to the first RPG in the game. Going back to the main path, you will start the next level which is a boss fight. During this fight, you will have access to ammo crates. Be sure to have your RPG ammo full at the end of this fight because you will want to have some RPGs to kill the scorpions that appear in the following level. To get the trophy, you do not need to take out five scorpions at once, just in total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/27.jpg Scorpion King (B)

Kill 50 Scorpions

If you kill every scorpion you see, you will almost definitely get this during a mini-gun sequence in which you mow down dozens of scorpions.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/28.jpg Chicken Chaser (B)

Kill 50 Velociraptors

These are the mini raptors that come up sporadically throughout the game. Even if you kill everyone you encounter, you still won’t get this trophy until Level 13: The Final Piece. (At least, I didn’t.)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/07.jpg Gunman (S)

Kill a dinosaur using each weapon

Weapons are in weapon crates that are scattered (in plain view) throughout the game. Just kill at least one dinosaur with each weapon. I’m not sure if scorpions count, but you should kill standard dinosaurs just to be safe. Here is a list of the weapons along with the first level you can get them:

  • .45 Pistol, Level 1 - Code: Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot
  • 30-06 Assault Rifle, Level 1 - Code: Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot
  • Model 1855 Rifle, Level 2 - Far from Shore, Far from Home
  • 9mm Automatic, Level 3 - Sinking Feeling
  • Grenades, Level 3 - Sinking Feeling
  • Shotgun, Level 3 - Sinking Feeling
  • 5.56 Assault Rifle, Level 4 - Vortex Zero
  • .44 Magnum, Level 4 - Vortex Zero
  • Black Powder Rifle, Level 5 - Out of the Frying Pan
  • Crossbow, Level 6 - The Lost Castaways
  • Light Machine Gun, Level 7 - Rise Above
  • RPG, Level 10 - Special Delivery
  • ESD-P206, Level 13 - The Final Piece
  • Plasma Rifle, Level 1 - Code: Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot (hard difficulty only)

Note: The plasma rifle may not be necessary for the trophy, but you’ll be using it to kill a ton of dinos anyway.

Edit: It has been confirmed that the plasma rifle is not necessary for this trophy, but again the point is moot.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/08.jpgFirepower (Silver Trophy (S))

Kill 50 dinosaurs using stationary weapons

There are several stationary weapon sequences in the game and many of these require that you kill all the dinosaurs present before the sequence terminates. The end result is that you will get this trophy before finish your normal play-through.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/12.jpg Dinomite! (S)

Kill 50 Raptors with a single shot each

This is not that hard. A great way to get one-shot-kills is to use adrenaline burst with the shotgun. Just wait till a raptor is fairly close to you, enter adrenaline burst and blow it’s face off. You can track this stat on the stat page in the pause menu.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/32.jpg These are not the Hammer (G)

Kill 20 dinosaurs using melee attacks

You melee with :r3:. To be efficient, I suggest going for this trophy while going for the "Dinomite!” trophy. If you don’t kill a dinosaur with a single shot, melee it to death to finish it off. Of course, only do this until the trophy unlocks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/13.jpgSix Foot Turkey (S)

Kill a Utahraptor

This is story related and cannot be missed, provided you finish the story. The Utahraptor is the first “boss” you encounter. They are bigger than the standard raptors and only slightly stronger. Just keep your distance and use adrenaline burst when possible.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/14.jpg What a Prick (G)

Survive a Spinosaurus attack

This is story related and cannot be missed, provided you finish the story. This is the boss in Level 11 – Enter: “Spike”. I found the 5.56 assault rifle to be the most effective weapon against this dino. Just stand next to an ammo crate and riddle Spike’s face with bullets until he stands upright. When he does this, reload your weapon and get some ammo. Wash and repeat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/15.jpg I'm the King (G)

Kill a Tyrannosaurus

This is story related and cannot be missed, provided you finish the story. You will kill a t-rex while in a stationary gun. You should enter adrenaline burst, shoot at his heart until he runs away. When he’s gone, some pterosaurs will start attacking flying towards you. You must shoot them down before they swarm you. Be careful to not let your gun overheat.

Secret (Death) Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/11.jpg Clever Girl (B) (H)

Died in a Raptor Melee sequence

The very first dinosaur you encounter will attack you in a raptor melee sequence. Don't press any buttons and let the raptor rip your face off for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/10.jpg Allergic Reaction (B) (H)

Killed by thorny plants

These plants don’t have thorny stems, rather they have thorny leaves, the tips of which are red. They appear throughout the game, but you’ll first encounter them in Level 1 - Code: Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot. Once you do come across some of these plants, just walk up to it and let it kill you for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/09.jpg Die in a Fire (B) (H)

Killed by fire or lava

When you encounter lava for the first time, dive in and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/25.jpg Mari-Ouch (B) (H)

Killed yourself with an exploding mushroom

When you encounter exploding mushrooms for the first time, simply walk up to one and let it kill you. Be sure that there are no enemies around to steal the kill away from the mushroom.

Miscellaneous Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/18.jpg Preparing for the Future (B)

Repair all broken entrances before unlocking the gate

This trophy can be obtained at the end of any fortification sequence and there are plenty of these throughout the game. Before exiting out of your fortified area, simply repair all of the windows by standing next to them and pressing . The first fortification sequence you encounter will be in Level 3 - Sinking Feeling. This trophy can be unlocked in conjunction with the “Handyman” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/17.jpg Handyman (S)

Complete any fortification objective without the dinosaurs getting in

The first fortification in Level 3 – Sinking Feeling is a good place to get this trophy. Just cycle through the windows. If there is a dinosaur attacking the window, kill it (a shotgun blast to the face will do nicely), repair the window and move on to the next window in the rotation. Repeat this cycle until the fortification sequence is over. This trophy can be unlocked in conjunction with the “Preparing for the Future” trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/16.jpg Outta Nails (S)

Complete any fortification objective without repairing

This is best done in either of first two fortification sequences, as there are fewer enemies to keep track of. Don’t worry if the dinosaurs enter the fortification area, just remember to not repair the windows. The trophy will unlock once you leave the fortification.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/30.jpg Life Finds a Way (G)

Complete the game

This is story related and cannot be missed, provided you finish the story.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/29.jpg Nuck Chorris Rex (G)

Complete the game without dying

This can be done via level select. If you died in a level, there will be a skull icon at the bottom left of the level at the level selection screen. When going for this trophy, keep in mind that if you are getting attacked and are close to dying, you can pause the game and restart from the last checkpoint. This way you no death gets counted and you don’t have to restart from the beginning of the level. Just remember that you can only do this trick, if you haven’t already died.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/31.jpgHard as Nails (G)

Complete the game on the Hard difficulty

After you beat the game on normal, hard difficulty becomes available as well as the plasma rifle. You can either start a new game altogether or go to mission select. The best way to do this, however, is kind of in between. You should go to level select, choose the first level, and select the hard difficulty. Then you should play through the levels in sequence. This way all of your normal run stats carry over and you can get the plasma rifle right away. Should you decide you want to skip around and not complete the levels in sequence, you can. You will know if you’ve completed a level on hard difficulty if an icon of the main character appears on bottom center of the level at the level selection screen.

Some more info on the awesome plasma rifle: Very early in the first level (on hard difficulty only), you will come across a fallen comrade’s uniform. The plasma rifle is just above him. This gun shoots an extremely powerful plasma burst and has unlimited ammo. The only draw back to the gun is that it can only fire five shots back-to-back before having to recharge. This gun will make your hard run very easy, even though it’s not that hard to begin with.

One final remark: It is possible that the trophy does not pop after you finish the last level on hard. In this case, replay the first level and the trophy should pop upon completion.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/274/01.jpg Platinum Trophy (P)

Get all trophies

Just like every other platinum out there, get all the other trophies and this one will pop.

I thought you might like to add to your guide that the "hard as nails" trophy is glitched in more ways than just finish another level. At the end of the 13th stage, after I kill the final scorpion my screen cuts to black and it completely locks up my ps3. I have beaten 13/14 stages on hard but this one won't let me finish. Someone on these forums said you could erase save data and playthrough the game again, and as of right now that seems to be the only fix. I havent tried again to confirm this fixes it as I am in fear of playing through the game again and having it glitch. I would lose a dualshock controller if that happened.

Unless others chime in, I'm going to assume that yours is an isolated incident. As for me, there were absolutely no glitches in this game. Every trophy unlocked as expected.

Gunman can be unlocked via level select (but must be on the same difficulty). Each weapon must be used to kill a raptor. Pay special attention to the Black Powder Muzzle Loader, the Crossbow and the RPG. Each weapon appears near dinos that aren't raptors. You'll have to save the weapon in your stash until you see one in later in the level or within the following level.

I got mine during fortification fights.

Should I add that when trying to go for the Nuck Chorris trophy (Complete without dying), when you level select, you lose all but a few of your weapons. So it is wise to try and do it during your normal playthrough. Also, I suggest you try going for that trophy before starting your hard playthrough because it resets all of your stats. Not that Hard is anything hard due to the Plasma Gun.

Is it really possible to complete the game without dying? Im doing my first playtrought on normal atm and i already died like 50 times lol, whoever said this game is "easy" is a nut -_-. Reloading takes AGES here while thos dinos smack me in the face=(

Also is it possible to try and get norris trophy along with hard playtrough? Already died on normal so i was planning to try and get both of them on hard difficuluty as i heard with plasma gun its much easier so yeah,im wondering if its doable.

Yes, it is possible to do all of those things. Obviously, finishing the levels on the lower difficulty setting will make things easier, but it shouldn't be necessary with the plasma gun for some levels. Remember you can complete individual levels without dying to count towards the trophy.

What happens if lets say,on normal playtrough (1st one) managed to do for example level 8 without deaths and i have no skull...IF i die in this place on HARD mode will it rewrite my current status or skull wont appear even tho i died on 2nd play?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: Once you complete a level without dying (on any difficulty), you get the skull icon and that skull won't disappear if/when you die while replaying the level.

I though its opposite? You get skull if you die on a lvl,at least that would make sense for me.

And im pretty sure i didnt die in Final Piece and i still have a skull sigh...

Yeah, I think you're correct about the skull appearing if you die, but the gist of my earlier message remains: you should just need to clear a level without dying only once.
