Introduction:

Judge Dee - The City God Case is a hidden object puzzle game, similar to Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos, whereby you have to find hidden objects to solve a case in a city somewhere in medieval China. After the ShizHangs Son is taken ill everyone believes it to be a vengeful City God and you as the magistrate/detective have to find out why. As usual you stumble across the usual suspects for these type of games, throw in some puzzles (Game of Go, Tangram, Memory, Dou Shou Qi, Jigsaw) and you have a short but relatively fun game.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play the game

There isn't not a lot to say here really. All except 2 of the trophies are story related so just play it and they will come naturally. Difficulty doesn't matter so play through on Easy if you like, Easy gives you more hints and makes the puzzles easier, Average is, well, Average and Hard makes puzzles harder and also gives you a time limit to complete them in

As you can interview people etc. in various orders, your playthrough might be different to mine but overall it shouldn't really effect the other that trophies pop in.

Completing the game should net you the following trophies:

Psychology expert (B)

Interrogation expert (S)

Handicraft expert (S)

Secret passages expert (B)

Information expert (B)

Imperial prosecutor (B)

Crafty magistrate (S)

Enlightened magistrate (B)

Wise investigator (B)

Master of secrets (S)

Imperial doctor (S)

Master of truth (S)

Poison expert (B)

Step 2: Cleanup

There are two missable trophies in this game, you may have missed them, you may have got them during your first playthrough. If you got them then well done but if you didn't then it's back to the game for you. Fear not though as it won't take long as you can press :circle: to skip all the conversations and just get the trophies you need.

After this step the two trophies you will have are:

Gallant investigator (B)

Generous magistrate (S)

As well as an easy 100%.

I think you really underestimated the time to 100%, you can easily double it in my view. No way you can get the 100% in 30mn even with a very good guide. I'd say 4-5 hours without a guide, maybe 2 hours with one, playing in easy and skipping the dialogs.

hmm i played it through tonight again on easy and skipped all the convos aswell as using the dragon hints wherever possible and did it in under an hour, but i had just finished the game so the puzzles were kind of fresh in my mind, i've adjusted the time a little

are you sure, that every trophy can be obtained through the regular playthrough, except the 2 missable trophies? i got all trophies through my first playthrough, except one. this one with the coin. but i took a lot of time to investigate everything, talk to everybody and pick up every stuff, that can be picked up. i don't know if every trophy pops automatically, if you don't talk to all the people or if you don't look at everything. the trophy descriptions are really weird.

You're possibly right. I'm not sure if by exemple "Interrogation expert" is not missable. I don't think the game forces us to speak at least once at the 3 guys in the market section. But maybe the trophy doesn't require to speak to this guys, maybe you only have to interrogate a certain amount of NPC. we need more tests. ;-)

yes, that's what i mean. the questlog tells a lot of stuff, what to do, to proceed in the game, but for example the traders, there it is not clear. you don't have to talk to to the traders on the street to proceed in the story. you only have to talk to the two women in the shops. you can talk to the trader on the right and gave him a glove. but you don't have to give him this glove- this is a bonus-quest. so i don't know if this is trophy-related. as well the lumberguy. you can talk to him, but he deosn't help you through the story.

i think there are more trophies missable, than the two, which are already known.

Thanks for the guide.

I used this guide as well; though it is missing some stuffs (and one or two things (e.g. left/ right) are written wrongly.) Judge Dee: The City God Case Trophy Guide - PS3 Trophies Forum

Videos here will help as well:

Why suggest this if it's missing things and inaccurately detailed?

Well it is the best that I can find out there back then lol.

The videos will help for anything that is missing/ inaccurate/ unclear.

Note that the videos are not really fantastic either, but I had to make do with what I can find.

-Edit-

-Edit-

Go ahead and forget what I said about it being perfect. Trash walkthrough combined with a bare-boned trophy guide... yay!
