Introduction:

Jeopardy! is the PS3 port of the popular TV game show. This is also a direct port of the Wii game that came out a few years ago. In regards to trophies, the game is very straight forward but does require some grinding.

**NOTE** I will note, that all of the questions on the game are directly pulled from the TV show. The website J! Archive catalogues all the questions and answers from previous TV shows. You can use the search function on this site to "cheat" and look up the answers for your categories ahead of time. I strongly recommend for at least your first 3 games, that you use this website to answer every question correctly as this will unlock the overwhelming majority of the trophies within your first 3 games.

Walkthrough:

Step 1 (Play a few games to get to $1M earnings):

There are 3 trophies that have to do with winning a game on each difficulty (Easy, Medium, and Hard), however, playing your first game on "Hard" will unlock the other three (credit to MikeKeese for testing that). The main difference between the difficulties is AI speed of buzzing in, and on Medium/Hard you must manually enter answers. On Easy, all the answers are available in Multiple Choice format. Once you've won a game on Hard, just keep playing on Easy. If you are using J! Archive to answer every question correctly, you should be able to get to $1M within 3-5 games.

During your first few games, you should be able to unlock the following without much effort:

(B)That is Correct!

(B)Showoff

(B)We Have a Champion!

(B)Dressed Smartly

(B)Daily Double winner

(B)No Brainer

(B)Clue Solver

(B)My Category!

(B)What is the Correct Response?

(B)No Time for Small Change

(B)Should Have Bet More

(B)A $5K Game

(B)The Minigame Champ

(B)I Like Minigames

(B)Clue Streak

(B)My Favorite Category

(B)A $10K Game

(S)It Pays Off!

(B)Daily Double Pro

(B)Make it A True Daily Double

(B)Finally Knew It

(B)Clue Crew Member

(B)Ultimate Minigame Champ

(S)Clue Streak, Again!

(B)Final Wager

(B)It's Subjective

(B)Thinking Ahead

(B)A $25K Game!

(S)It Really Pays Off!

(B)Quick on the Buzzer

(G)I Never Guess

(S)A $35K Game!

(G)What a Pay Off!

(S)Know It All

(B)Category Expert

Step 2 (Play Online):

Once you've got the general gist of the game, now you can go online to get the only 2 trophies required online:

(B)Challenge Accepted

(B)Welcome to the Winner's Circle

Because this game is not super-popular, it can be very difficult to find a random opponent online. I highly recommend using the Trophy Boosting Thread. The other option is to have a second controller option join your game, that way you only need to find one random opponent online.

Step 3 (Grind to 50 Wins):

The most time-consuming part of this game is undoubtedly getting to 50 Wins. Each game takes roughly 20-30 minutes, so you can expect this to take you a while. On your way to 50 wins, you will unlock:

(S)Clue Master

(B)Returning Champion

(S)Sweep Week

(B)Still the Returning Champion

(S)Jeopardy Pro!

(S)Jeopardy! Champ

(G)Jeopardy! Master

Step 4 (Clean Up):

Most likely, if you've gotten to 50 games and still don't have Platinum, the only trophy you'll probably be missing is (S)How Did You Know?. This is a completely random trophy that can be a royal pain. See guide for more details.

Daily Doubles are randomly selected squares on the board that only the contestant who selects it may answer. If you are playing by yourself with no AI, you will obviously select one of these squares in your first game. Simply answer the question correctly to unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/0CA.jpg No Brainer (B)

Win a game on Easy difficulty

Stackable trophy, see Know it All for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/DB4.jpg My Category! (B)

Finish a category with the correct response

When there is only 1 question of a category remaining, select that question and answer it correctly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/98C.jpg What is the Correct Response? (B)

Respond correctly after someone does not

Quickest way to get this is to have 2 controllers. Have controller 2 intentionally miss a question, and controller 1 buzz in after and correctly answer it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/BE9.jpg Still the Returning Champion (B)

Win 10 games

Requires 10 Wins, see Jeopardy! Master for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/FCE.jpg No Time For Small Change (B)

Solve the highest dollar value clue in a category first

The "traditional" method of playing jeopardy is to start at the lowest dollar amount and work your way down to the highest. For this trophy, simply select the $1000 clue first (or $2000 if you're in Double Jeopardy) and answer it correctly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/713.jpg Should Have Bet More (B)

Answer Final Jeopardy! correctly with a $0 wager

Final Jeopardy! is the third round of the game. In this round, you will place a wager of your money based on your knowledge of the category. Simply wager $0, then answer the clue correctly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/798.jpg A $5K Game! (B)

Win $5,000 in one game

Must win $5,000 in a single game, see A $35K Game! for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/47A.jpg The Minigame Champ! (B)

Become a Minigame Champ

**Requires 2 controllers or an online partner**

Mini-Games are the "Commercial Breaks" between the Jeopardy!/Double Jeopardy! rounds and the Double Jeopardy!/Final Jeopardy rounds. To enter a minigame, you must have 2 user players in your game. Use a second controller and make sure at the "Start Game Lobby", you have the "Multiplayer Minigame" option turned "ON".

See Ultimate Minigame Champ! for more detail.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/8D6.jpg I Like Minigames (B)

Play every minigame

**Requires 2 controllers or an online partner**

Mini-Games are the "Commercial Breaks" between the Jeopardy!/Double Jeopardy! rounds and the Double Jeopardy!/Final Jeopardy rounds. To enter a minigame, you must have 2 user players in your game. Use a second controller and make sure at the "Start Game Lobby", you have the "Multiplayer Minigame" option turned "ON".

See Ultimate Minigame Champ! for more detail.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/556.jpg Clue Streak (B)

Respond to five clues correctly in a row

Answer 5 questions correctly in a row without answering one incorrectly. Again, if you are using J! Archive this won't be an issue.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/588.jpg My Favorite Category (B)

Respond to every clue in a category

A Category is the vertical column on the board. This trophy requires you to buzz in on all 5 questions in a single category.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/F18.jpg How Did You Know? (S)

Pick the Daily Double before any other clues are revealed

This will probably be the most frustrating trophy on the list. The Daily Doubles are randomly assigned to 1 of the 30 squares on the board (2 Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy), and this trophy requires you to select one of these squares first. My personal strategy was to always select the highest $ value on the second category from the left and I eventually got it on my 13th game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/4CB.jpg Jeopardy Pro! (S)

Win 25 games

Requires 25 Wins, see Jeopardy! Master for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/4AF.jpg A $10K Game! (B)

Win $10,000 in one game

Must win $10,000 in a single game, see A $35K Game! for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/85D.jpg It Pays Off! (S)

Win $100,000 total

Cumulative trophy, see What a Payoff! for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/BC5.jpg Daily Double Pro (B)

Win all Daily Doubles in a single game

There are 3 Daily Doubles in each game of Jeopardy! One in the first Jeopardy! round, and 2 in the Double Jeopardy! round. If you are playing by yourself with no AI, you will automatically get all 3 selected and you can use J! Archive to get the correct answers.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/282.jpg Make It A True Daily Double (B)

Wager everything and respond to a Daily Double correctly

When you have found a Daily Double and it's time to wager, select the "MAX" option to wager everything you have. Once you answer correctly, you will double your winnings, making it a "True Daily Double".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/5FE.jpg Finally Knew It! (B)

Be the only one to respond to Final Jeopardy! Correctly!

If you are playing by yourself with no AI, once you answer the Final Jeopardy question correctly, the trophy will pop since you are the only contestant.

Edit: Patch 1.01 now requires you to have multiple players to earn this trophy. Simply turn on a second controller, and you should be good.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/47E.jpg Clue Crew Member (B)

Respond to all Clue Crew clues correctly in a game

Clue Crew clues are when you see a random character give you the clue, rather than Alex Trebek reading it directly off the board. If you are using J! Archive, as long as a Clue Crew appears, you shouldn't have any issues.

**NOTE** Clue Crews do not appear in every game, but most. If you don't get one in your first or second games, just keep playing, eventually you'll get it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/3C4.jpg Ultimate Minigame Champ (B)

Win every minigame

**Requires 2 controllers or an online partner**

Mini-Games are the "Commercial Breaks" between the Jeopardy!/Double Jeopardy! rounds and the Double Jeopardy!/Final Jeopardy rounds. To enter a minigame, you must have 2 user players in your game. Use a second controller and make sure at the "Start Game Lobby", you have the "Multiplayer Minigame" option turned "ON".

This trophy requires you to win each type of minigame throughout your entire career (not one game). There are 3 minigames:

-Point it Out

-Stumpers

-Correct Order

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/30B.jpg Clue Streak, Again! (S)

Respond to ten clues correctly in a row

Answer 10 questions correctly in a row. If you are using J! Archive, this will be no issue.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/F0E.jpg Final Wager (B)

Wager it all in Final Jeopardy with a correct response

Once you reach the Final Jeopardy! round and it's time to wager, click the "MAX" option to wager everything you have. Once you answer correctly, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/BD3.jpg It's Subjective (B)

Correctly respond to all five clues in a single subject

The subject in question in the trophy description is the Category (the vertical column on the board). Answer all 5 questions in a single category correctly to unlock the trophy. If you're playing by yourself with no AI and using J! Archive, this won't be an issue.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/570.jpg Thinking Ahead (B)

Win a game on Medium difficulty

Stackable trophy, see Know it All for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/935.jpg A $25K Game! (B)

Win $25,000 in one game

Must win $25,000 in a single game, see A $35K Game! for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/70F.jpg It Really Pays Off! (S)

Win $250,000 total

Cumulative trophy, see What a Payoff! for more information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/7B9.jpg Quick on the Buzzer (B)

Be the first to respond to every clue on a board

A single board is a single round (IE Double Jeopardy). There are 30 questions on each board, and this trophy requires you to be the first person to buzz in to each question. If you're playing by yourself and not using AI, you'll get this automatically as long as you buzz in to each question.

Edit: Patch 1.01 requires multiple players to be active for this trophy now. Simply turn on a second controller and let it sit idle while Player 1 buzzes in on every question.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/2E0.jpg I Never Guess (G)

Complete a game without entering any incorrect responses

For this gold trophy, you must not enter an incorrect answer. You don't necessarily have to buzz in for every question, you just can't make a mistake. Use J! Archive to ensure you don't make any mistakes. If for some reason you are given a clue that isn't on J! Archive, just don't buzz-in.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/AB7.jpg A $35K Game! (S)

Win $35,000 in one Game

This is a stackable trophy that will unlock all previous "A $X Game!" trophies under it. You need to finish a single game with a final $ total of $35,000 or more. This is very simple and it's possible to finish games with $200K or more in a single game.

I would suggest for your first game using J! Archive to answer every single question correctly as that will help you unlock a large number of trophies, including this one.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/379.jpg What A Pay Off! (G)

Win $1M total

This trophy requires you to have a lifetime earnings of $1,000,000. Using J! Archive to answer every question in a game correctly can help you net $200-$350 in a single game, so this won't take long at all. You can check your progress in the "Player Stats" screen under the "Extras" menu.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/83D.jpg Know It All (S)

Win a game on Hard difficulty

At the "Start Game Lobby", make sure the difficulty setting is set to "Hard". Hard difficulty requires you to manually enter answers, rather than having multiple choice options.

This trophy does stack with the other difficulty trophies Thinking Ahead and No Brainer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/EB6.jpg Jeopardy! Master! (G)

Win 50 Games

The most time consuming part of this game. You must win 50 games over your career. This includes any online wins you rack up as well.

At any point, you can visit the "Player Stats" screen under the "Extras" menu to see where you are at.

Some tips:

-Use a single user player and turn off the AI Players. Even though there's only 1 contestant, it still counts as a win.

-My personal strategy was to use J! Archive to get myself to just over $10K as quickly as possible (to speed things up for Jeopardy! Champ!), then "PASS" on every answer by pressing :circle:. The animations for when you "PASS" take less time than you buzzing in, answering, and having the celebration after your answer. It may only shave off a few seconds per answer, but in the long run it's worth it.

-Another strategy I have used when I was bored of playing, was start a game, answer one of the questions correctly, then let the CPU timer auto-select all my questions for me. You'll notice there is a timer that counts down when you're supposed to be selecting a category. Once that reaches 0, it will auto select one for you. This method allows you to not be at your screen for the game, and you can do other things like watch TV. It will GREATLY increase the time it takes to 50 wins, but doesn't require your immediate attention.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/E5F.jpg Clue Master! (S)

Respond to 200 Clues Correctly

Simply answer any 200 clues correctly. Using J! Archive to work towards What a Pay Off! will let you unlock this trophy during your 4th game (Each game has 60 clues).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/0E8.jpg Jeopardy! Champ! (S)

Acquire all contestant clothes and logos

There are 43 different articles of clothing and logos to be unlocked on your way to Platinum. You can earn these items in 2 ways:

1)Win a game with more than $10K

2)Win a mini-game

If you're going for platinum, just make sure that each game you win you have at least $10K and this will come over time. If you're looking to speed things up for this one trophy in particular, play each game with 2 controllers and Minigames "On".

*NOTE* You do NOT need the Concept Art prizes for this trophy, just the clothing items/logos.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/B2F.jpg Sweep Week (S)

Win five games in a row

This will unlock once you have won your fifth game in a row. If you are playing with only 1 user and no AI, it's impossible to not win a game unless you end up in the negative range.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1763/E9A.jpg Category Expert (B)

Respond to Clues Correctly from 25 categories

There are 6 categories in each round of Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy!. If you are using J! Archive to get every answer correctly, this will unlock during your 3rd game.

lol not for nothing but how do u make an average game only last 20-25 or even 30 minutes? lol every game takes atleast 40-45 minutes on average that i have played.. and with that said, on average if u played 50 games that would be 33 hrs.. not the said 20-25hrs as stated in the guide for the plat.. might want to up that since this one trophy requires atleast 33 hrs given you dont lose any games at all..

Are you answering each question, or hitting "Pass"? As I was working my way through, any of the games where I actively passed on each question, it took anywhere from 22-28 minutes on average. I've got no problem upping it, but it's definitely doable.

Grinding out some of the wins on solo, skipping questions and whatnot I was able to complete games in about 18:40 each time ... only answered enough to get the $10 000 minimum required to unlock a prize!

Despite that I hate helping out guides on this site, there is a couple things you should note.

A. Challenge Accepted is not glitched, my partner and I both got it when I hosted so that's simply not true.

B. If you play on Hard and win, you get the trophy for medium and easy so just play the first game on hard and the rest on easy.

I actually had a mate and myself play online and it wasn't unlocking for them until they hosted. May have just been lucky on your end, or unlucky on ours ... hmmm ... don't really know. But better safe than sorry I suppose? I mean since it has happened on more than one occasion that is ...

Thanks for letting me know about the stacking difficulty, I went Easy-Medium-Hard, so didn't even think to test it. I'll adjust that part now.

And so far, you're the first confirmed person to have the person not hosting get the trophy. Everyone else hasn't had it unlock. I'll keep an eye on the forums and if it becomes apparent that they either fixed it (unlikely) or the trophy is hit-and-miss I'll adjust the guide.

I Never Guess seems to be glitchy -- I completed a game without incorrect answers last night and the trophy didn't pop. It was a single-player game on Hard (maybe Medium), I answered two Daily Doubles correctly (the CPU got the other), and Final Jeopardy! correctly as well. I did not answer every single question, though this has already been confirmed to be unnecessary.

Not sure what happened here, but worth noting that this one doesn't seem to pop every time.

Make sure your controller is #1 player. I dont think it counts if you were the 2nd player or 3rd players. I only answered a few right questions and then let it go till the game was done and I got it by only answering a few.

I have found if you have 3 controllers, play a game on easy and it helps with the grind of 50 wins. Just make sure you (player 1) wins each time. I have either actually been playing or I just let it go until it requires me to do something. This way the CPU can't buzz in and take the wins away. I have tested it and it counts if you have 3 controllers.

You can also do it solo and as long as you have $1 you get a win :)

I've recently finished NatGeo - Wildife Quiz, so was not considering another quiz type game for while due to the ungodly grind i recently went through....!!

Can anyone tell me how this compares to NatGeo before i consider it any further?

I haven't played NatGeo so I can't compare directly, but I will say it is a grind to get to 50 wins. Expect to get 40+ trophies within the first 5 hours, but the 50 Wins and all Clothing Items will take you a good 20-25 hours. It's not bad in the grand scheme of things, but that gap between 25 wins and 50 wins was pretty boring lol.

There is a patch 1.01 that seems to have changed some things:

- I got the Challenge Accepted trophy after the first online game I played and I wasn't the host

- The Finally Knew It and Quick On The Buzzer trophies don't unlock when you play by yourself

I updated the guide based on these notes. As I rented from GF, don't have ability to test. If anyone plays through and is still having trouble with "Challenge Accepted" or can get the other two by yourself, please let me know.

I found not so attention consuming method to grind 50 games, but you need two contollers.

First you connect your controller via cabel (if you use wireless connection - controller turn of after 15-20 minutes of inactiveness)

Then I start

- Hard game (it's give less time for answering)

- Disabled minigames

- Disabled AI People

with two gamers.

Then game start - Player 1 answers any question and wait. You don't need to pay any attention to the game, until it's end.

Game automatically select questions or Daily Double amounts (5$) if no action in timeout is happened.

It's take about 40-50 minutes for a game.

It's a lot of time, but advantage of that method - you shouldn't sit at your game all the time, you can just start game, answer one question and walk away

Great guide.

So far, I've played 3 offline & 1 online game. The offline games have taken 24, 26 & 26 minutes. Getting it 18:40 as one of the 1st posts stated, would be a great, great time saver. I'm using 2 controllers to play so fast. How can you get the times lower?

Once you've unlocked all the collectibles, you can simply "Pass" every question to speed up the game to the 15-18 min range. Until then, just follow the guide and make sure you finish the game with at least $10K in winnings to continue to unlock collectibles, then once you know you've got enough, "Pass" all questions as mentioned above.
